The article provides information on the first excursion of the preschool deaf children at the Bennett School in Youngstown, Ohio. The first school field trip was conducted to develop the oral language of the preschool deaf children. The first location of the trip was to a nearby farm in which the participating children were instructed to observe how the pumpkins grow and to pick one for a Jack-O-Lantern. Fortunately, they returned with five pumpkins and acquired a number of concepts. Their next location was at a turkey farm where the children toured the farm on a hay wagon and were given juicy red apples. Moreover, these preschool deaf children benefited on the excursion since these experiences can develop their ability to hear through their eyes.
