The article discusses research concerning the end-use properties of acrylic latex foam formulations. The basic foam ingredients studied includes clay, titanium dioxide, and ammonium hydroxide. It outlines various steps in preparing crushed foam test samples. Coating uniformity, launderability, and cold flexibility are some of the fabric properties measured. Dry cleaning and laundering durability are considered essential properties of back coatings. Compared to other variables tested, titanium dioxide and aluminum silicate produced the most impact on end-use properties studied.
