New complex acids of the type H[Co(Propox·H)2X2] (Propox·H2=methyl-isopropylglyoxime,X=Cl, Br, I) were obtained by air oxidation of CoX2 in the presence of methylisopropylglyoxime. A series of new salts of these acids has been prepared and characterized by means of double decomposition reactions. IR spectra are recorded and discussed. Aquation kinetics of the [Co(Propox·H)2Cl2]- and [Co(Propox·H)2Br2]--ions was studied in acidic solutions, and kinetic parameters derived were compared with those of the analogous dimethyl-glyoxime derivatives.

ON glancing through the international literature we do not find any information on the therapeutical application of well-known pharmacological products, like the essential oils, in the treatment of atherosclerosis, and no experiments have been carried out on this subject. The essential oils are ingredients of plants and are readily soluble in most of the organic solvents. They contain mainly various terpenes like menthol, camphor, pinene, borneol, cineol and other compounds. The chemical structure of the majority of terpenes has been determined.

IT has been observed by several authors that macromolecular polysaccharides, especially those containing sulphate groups, cause significant alterations in the lipoprotein patterns of sera1,2. In the course of previous studies on the effect of methyl-cellulose on blood-proteins3certain changes in serum lipids were also noted. So it seemed to be of interest to examine what influence methylcellulose of high molecular weight (82,000) exerts in vitro as well as in vivo on the lipoproteins of sera of experimental animals.
