Abstract

The surface morphology of the pathologic pocket area of human teeth has been studied with the scanning electron microscope. The topography and morphology of adherent bacterial plaque, epithelial attachment remnants, the completely and partially lyzed connective tissue zone, the most coronal intact connective tissue fibers and the exposed cementum surface are described.
