The article discusses the consequences of having lactase deficiency in peptic-ulcer patients. It states patients with peptic ulcer are put on a bland diet rich in milk and cream to prevent abdominal pains, nausea, and diarrhea. According to the report from two University of Colorado doctors, patients who avoid drinking of milk and their symptoms diminish maybe allergic to milk or they may have shortage of lactase, which decreases in advancing age.
