The article discusses the study on the standard battery of industrial vision test conducted to 81 female sewing machine operators in North Carolina textile mill. It states that the Bausch and Lomb Visual Classification and Placement Test for industry integrated in the Ortho-Rater were used in the study. It tells that the vision test included in the battery were those that have importance for most testing purposes on the industrial jobs and are recommended by the American Medical Association. It says that when scores on these tests measuring the various aspects of vision were correlated with production figures, no logical important relationships were found. Moreover, the vision test were not a satisfactory screening device for selection of workers for this job.
