The article focuses on the collapse of Russia in the cold war in Germany. Soviets had lost the war because of two political defeats, first with the death of their great tyrant Joseph Stalin, and the second was the success of Chancellor Konrad Adenauer in the German election. Adenauer and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill had employed the Locarno Treaty to establish a durable peace by bringing Germany back into the community of nations.
