The article presents approaches on how to formulate safety education plans for mentally handicapped children. According to the author, when safety education plans are developed for the mentally retarded children, it is important to consider the areas that the children engaged in such as traffic, fire, home and school hazards, bicycle, lifting and carrying, pedestrian, playground and school bus. It is also important to decide which of the aspects of safety should be taught to the mentally retarded children.
