- Abstract
The article focuses on the comparison between Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and California Institute of Technology (Caltech). M.I.T. president Howard Wesley Johnson asserts that M.I.T. emphasize science applications than pure science and that the entire school of Caltech is smaller than their electrical-engineering department. Caltech president Lee A. DuBridge notes that he is optimistic that Caltech will continue a nonindustrial setting of informality and intimacy.
