This article focuses on the 1965 American Personnel and Guidance Association (APGA) Convention hosted in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Minneapolis Convention, built around the theme, "The Individual: Discovery, Renewal, Emergence," offered the Association the opportunity to develop a number of new innovations in the conduct of the convention. For each of the printed items to be prepared for the convention, namely the Preliminary Program, the final program, the program of the Banquet and of the Opening Session, the covers were designed by students attending the Minneapolis Vocational High School and Technical Institute. This is the first time that the association have utilized student talent in the preparation of these items. Harold F. Cottingham, President of APGA, commented in his remarks at the Banquet that the addition of this an work had greatly enhanced the view of the convention theme through their imaginative ability. He congratulated them on the sophistication of their work and thanked them for their contribution to the convention.

The article profiles Kenneth E. Anderson, dean of the school of education at the University of Kansas. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 2, 1910. Anderson attained his Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts and Ph. D. degrees in 1932, 1934, and 1949 respectively. He has had numerous publications relating to education and science education in various educational publications, and had numerous experience in teaching. He was elected as the twenty-second president of the National Association for Research in Science Teaching (NARST) at the 27th Annual Meeting of the NARST in Chicago, Illinois.
