The article reports on the initial achievements of Lieutenant General Gustavo Rojas Pinilla as president of Colombia and on the parade held to honor Rojas one month after he overthrew the regime of Laureano Gómez. Rojas ended the civil war between guerillas and the police by offering amnesty to the guerillas and talked with Peru's President Manuel Odria about the case of Victor Haya de la Torre. Odria also promised to establish censorship guidelines and allow a certain level of press freedom.
