This article discusses the origin of the Grimm Brothers Fairy Tales and the role played by the clergy in some of the tales. The Grimms had begun to collect the tales from a number of informants and literary sources in 1805 when Napoleon had invaded Germany, and when as a result, a good many Germans had become concerned with problems of national as well as cultural autonomy. It was the explicit intention of the authors to save from extinction something they believed to be quite essentially German and which they hoped to forge into an instrument of socialization. The clergy would appear to be of quite special interest because of the ambiguities of esteem in which they were, and still are held in Europe, especially in those countries which were affected by the Enlightenment. Members of the clergy, consisting of clergymen, sextons and popes, occur in episodes in 14 out of the 200 of these tales. Altogether, 17 individuals, that is approximately 0.1% of the total human population of these tales are involved. These tales may be divided into three major categories: two tales in which clergymen are presented as anthropomorphised animals or plants; two rather fanciful tales concerning the papacy; and ten tales in which the interaction of clergymen with their alters is central to the episodic theme and focuses on and discloses their possession of specific characterological attributes.

The article examines the use of fairy-tale as a diagnostic tool for the determination of the neurotic archetypal fixation. In a large number of patients favorite fairy-tales arise from the unconscious in connection with dreams, fantasies or associations. The main fairy-tale time of childhood is the time in which fundamental neurotic patterns are laid down and the first neurotic symptoms appear. There is a strong connection between these fairy-tales and the symptoms of the later neurosis, the structure of the personality and the patterns of behavior.

The Russian student's grandmother used to tell fairy tales to the student. The student moved to the city for higher education. The father of the student died of influenza at an age of 52.

This article focuses on the role of fairy tales in a child's education. Fairy tales, whether told at home or transplanted to the school, introduces a child to imaginative art and plays an important role in his educational development. However, thousands of things are available in the name of fairy tales and it is the responsibility of teachers or parents to select the appropriate material for students. Fairy tales are not only those stories which have in them supernatural or preternatural elements, they also include folk tales which involve only natural and human material. Modern fairy-tales are combinations of stories of all marvelous experiences, stories of animals, and other so-called nature stories. These tales are pretty, harmless, amusing, and even instructive, and do contribute to a child's recreation.

The article presents information on various genres of children's literature. Literature serves the purpose of guiding one into the life that is greater than the limits of one's own life. Since the elementary school students have a curiosity toward life and nature, they should be exposed to reading material as discrete as life. Picture books, folk and fairy tales, factual material, poetry and heroic stories are some of the various genres of books school children must read. Fairy tales, which lie at the roots of literature, are rich food for imagination. Poetry can be enjoyed more by children than adults.

Nationalism played a vital rôle in the lives and works of the Grimm brothers, who were convinced that all their writings, including the fairy tales, derived their strength "from the soil of the German Fatherland." 2. From the beginning of their work the Grimm brothers took the Romantic position, closely allied with the rising German nationalism, in which they stressed the claims of the imagination, emotions, and feelings. 3. The fairy tales thus played a significant role, hitherto little recognized outside of Germany, in the development of modern integral German nationalism. The article discusses the course outline where art is integrated in history and literature. In contemporary history, the studying and the recording of the life as seen by children are drawn and pictured out. The association of things is exploited for the benefit of the children. In literature, on the other hand, are cut into three. The first two weeks shall be occupied with the fairy-stories, like "The Three Billy-Goats Gruff" and "The Last East of the Sun and West of the Moon," which are to the delight of the very young folk. Another two weeks will be spent in taking up the Greek stories, like "Athena" and "Apollo," which are more suitable to older children. The last two weeks are then for mediæval legends, which chime with the condition of soul of adolescence.

The article reports that Orion Press will release the new edition of the book "Grimm's Fairy Tales." It is stated that the book will be illustrated by American children between the ages of five and thirteen. Among the stories to be included in the book are "Snow-White and the Seven Dwarfs," "The Cat and the Mouse in Partnership" and "The Wolf and the Seven Goats." Accordingly, the selection of the children's art will be chosen by a group of educators from the U.S. National Art Education Association. Details on how to submit the artworks of the children are also given.

In here, some arguments are cited denouncing fanciful materials in no uncertain terms indicating that person have the curious notion that such tales create the imaginative life of children corrupting the imaginative life. The article presents information on and a picture of a sculpture of Gänseliesel-Brunnen, the Goose-Girl from one of the fairy tales of the Grimm brothers. The sculpture is in the city hall of Göttingen in West Germany, the site of the University of Göttingen which was associated to the Grimm brothers. The fairy tale relates that the girl was a king's daughter whose position was usurped by a maid.
