The article discusses the general features of the intertideal zonation of the more common or characteristic organisms in the Gold Coast, Queensland. A research concerned with the vertical and horizontal distribution of seaweeds as well as the distribution of animals present in the area. It is revealed that rocky shores in the area are divided according to the amount of wave action into exposed, moderately exposed and moderately sheltered and sheltered as well as the type of zonation characteristic of each type. Distribution of plants and animals in rocky shores differ in every zone and only depends on the type of water they can use for survival.
