The article presents information on the U.S. industrial mobilization plan Controlled Materials Plan II (CMP II), to be implemented from July 1951. It reports that CMP lists the civilian products industries which would get allocations from the U.S. War Production Board (WPB), as 'B' list, including communications, farming and food production, and public health projects. The B list industries would get first claim on raw materials left after fulfilling military needs.

Results of a National Health Survey that was conducted by PHS revealed that approximately 2.6 million workers in the U.S. would take a sick leave per day. The article also presents information on how such issue is being handled in Great Britain.
