The article presents a study that ascertains whether or not behavioral rigidity has an influence upon the success of college students in one semester of a physical science course offered as general education at Fresno State College in Fresno, California. The null hypotheses that would be tested include the statement that flexible individuals do not differ from rigid individuals in their skill in critical thinking. The three factors that are sampled by the Schaie test of Behavioral Rigidity are the psychomotor speed, personality-perceptual rigidity and the motor-cognitive rigidity.
