The article focuses on issues regarding the challenges during the Cuban conflict. During the Cuban crisis, much was made of the difference between offensive and defensive weapons, with Soviet Union weapons in the country. However, the Soviet has yielded in the Cuban crisis, implying that its weapons was not intended to defend Cuba from an enemy, but as part of the Soviet strategic deployment in conflict with the U.S. Such incident calls for exploration of new political and military doctrines which could forestall these increasingly dangerous confrontations between the two nuclear superpowers.
