Probably beginning in 1972, the Labor Historians will publish a news-letter independent of Labor History. The focus will be on current activities in the fields of labor history and industrial relations and on archival and library news. It will also include occasional discussions and information on teaching and research projects. The Archives of Labor History and Urban Affairs of Wayne State University has received the files of the National Advisory Council on Farm Labor and the National Advisory Committee on Agricultural Life and Labor from the National Sharecroppers Fund. The material, as yet unprocessed, covers the period 1955-67 and relates to the efforts of these citizens' committees to work through churches, labor unions and welfare organizations to alert local and national government of the need for legislation and a program for sharecroppers and migrant workers. The Centre for the Study of Social History, University of Warwick, Coventry, England, is offering a one-year M.A. in labour history. Emphasis is on the comparative study of British and American working class history, the development of labor movements, and socialist activities. Approximately ten students are enrolled each year.
