Abstract

The article presents a study on the effects of varying dose levels of oxypertine on the mood and physical performance of trained athletes. Oxypertine is a member of a series of alkyl indolyl-4-phenyl piperazines. Low dosages of the drug were found to bring about a definite enhancement of mood, however, it is not correlated with physical performance. There was no evidence of performance stimulation at lower dose levels. It was observed that the reaction time was intact while the adverse effects were minimal.
