In addition, in vitro and in vivo experiments were carried out.Results: It can be found that the ratio of HAuCl4 and AgNO3 played a critical role in the constitution of the yolk-shell nanostructure. The as-prepared yolk-shell nanostructure showed excellent SERS performance, which could be utilized as SERS substrate for specific sensitivity analysis of ovarian cancer markers cyclophilin A (CYPA) with detectable limit of 7.76*10− 10 μg/mL. In addition, the as-prepared yolk-shell nanostructure possessed outstanding photothermal performance, which could be used as photothermal agent for ovarian cancer therapy. Experiments in vitro and in vivo proved that the as-prepared yolk-shell nanostructures are ideal candidate for early diagnosis and therapy for ovarian cancer in one platform.Conclusion: This work holds promise to offer a new method for the detection and therapy of ovarian cancer in the early stage.Graphical Abstract: Keywords: yolk-shell nanostructure, surface-enhanced Raman scattering, early diagnosis, cancer targeted therapy

21. Molecular and thermodynamics descriptions of flow-induced crystallization in semi-crystalline polymers.

Abstract

The flow-induced crystallization (FIC) is commonly encountered in the polymer industry as more than 70% of commercial polymers are crystalline, which needs to be processed before the final application. The complicated external flow field, i.e., shear or extensional flow, results in a great challenge in understanding the FIC phenomenon from both general thermodynamics and detailed molecular level aspects. The current tutorial first describes the general phenomenon of FIC from the aspect of different morphologies and enhanced kinetics induced by the flow. Second, characterization methods for monitoring FIC are introduced. Here, the in situ synchrotron x-ray scattering and non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulation are selected as typical examples. Then, the theoretical descriptions of FIC are summarized from the aspects of molecular origin and thermodynamics. The coil–stretch transition theory and later developed stretched network theory are highlighted, where the former mainly accounts for polymer dilute solution and the latter for highly entangled cases. Also, multi-step features for the formation of various intermediate states during flow-induced nucleation are depicted. Despite non-equilibrium nature, the FIC can still be treated by thermodynamics, especially under weak flow conditions. The classic entropy reduction model is introduced together with later modifications. In all, understanding the fundamental mechanism of FIC is crucial for optimizing external processing parameters and internal molecular characteristics, and useful to guide current or further applied techniques. 34. Supercooling and Solvent Depletion-Driven Poly(vinyl Alcohol) Film Formation Mechanism as Elucidated by In SituSynchrotron Radiation X-Ray Scattering

Abstract

The microstructure evolution of semicrystalline poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) during drying within a wide temperature window ranging from 95 to 50 °C was captured in situby synchrotron radiation X-ray scattering (SRXS), specifically small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering. A portable film-casting apparatus with a high-pressure reactor was designed and manufactured. Its high safety features, coupled with its detachable and installable design, facilitate its integration with SRXS for researching the drying process of polymer solutions. The time-resolved microstructure parameters, such as the crystallinity and lamellar thickness, as well as the water fraction during the PVA film formation process help us to elucidate four sequential regimes during drying: (1) regime I, the evaporation stage, where the water evaporates at a constant rate without any crystallization occurring; (2) regime II, the rapid-crystallization stage, where PVA crystallinity increases dramatically and the long period declines rapidly due to the evaporation of the water in the interlamellar amorphous layer; (3) regime III, the diffusion-limited stage, where the PVA chain mobility and diffusion of water in the amorphous layers are gradually hindered as the PVA concentration increases, resulting in a slowdown of the decline in the long period; (4) regime IV, the annealing stage, during which the long period exhibits a secondary rapid reduction with the insertion of new-formed lamellae into the lamellar stacks. The synergistic and competing effects of the temperature and water fraction significantly influence the crystallization kinetics and chain mobility: lowering the temperature results in an increasing supercooling degree but a decrement of chain mobility as evidenced by low-field NMR experiments, where the former facilitates the nucleation but the latter impedes the crystallization kinetics. The above effects lead to a nonmonotonic temperature-dependent onset PVA weight fraction (ωPVA) of crystallization at the very beginning of regime II.

Abstract

The effects of injection temperature, shear and part thickness on the linear shrinkage of injection-molded poly (lactic acid) (PLA) were intensively analyzed using the Autodesk Moldflow software. The obtained results showed that both melt temperature and shear rate had obvious effects on the linear shrinkage of PLA, i.e., the linear shrinkage of PLA increases significantly with the increase of melt temperature and shear rate. In addition, the shrinkage of high-crystallinity PLA was remarkably larger than that of low-crystallinity PLA, and thin-walled parts was larger than thick-walled ones in shrinkage.

Abstract

Objective: This paper presents a method for treating maxillary neuralgia, the second division of trigeminal nerve, in the weak aged., Method: Thirty-nine cases with forty trigeminal neuralgia were treated from 1996 to 2001. All patients were treated through the maxillary sinus, the peterygopalatofossa for resecting maxillary nerve with endoscopic surgery., Result: The pain of all patients was relieved after operation and no recurrence of neuralgia was occurred in more than 2-years follow-up., Conclusion: This method had the advantages of avoiding to operate craniotomy, no complications, performing easily and the ideal treatments remained.
