Whole-genome sequencing of the SARS-CoV-2 virus during the pandemic has become an essential part of the epidemiological control of the spread of coronavirus infection. This made it possible to get actual data of circulating genetic variants and mutational changes of SARS-CoV-2 during the pandemic. The obtained results provided an opportunity for researchers to collect additional data to evaluate the virulence, infectivity, and the likelihood of evading an immune response when using vaccines and therapeutic monoclonal antibodies. There are different technological approaches for whole-genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2, but multiplex PCR amplification is used most often due to ease of implementation and cost-effectiveness. When performing research on viral genome sequencing, researchers need to optimize existing sequencing protocols with available reagents or develop new approaches. This study is devoted to the development of a protocol for whole-genome sequencing of the SARS-CoV-2 virus based on the use of RT-PCR amplification using 39 primer pairs in 3 reaction mixtures. The protocol made it possible to obtain 15 complete genome data of the SARS-CoV-2 and can probably be used for large-scale studies on viral genome sequencing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we developed a process for the deposition of adhesive oxide-zirconium coatings from solutions of hexafluorozirconic acid in the presence of Co (II) and Ni (II) ions on a steel base. The optimal conditions for the formation of oxide-zirconium coatings (concentrations of hexafluorozirconic acid, Co (II) and Ni (II) ions, temperature, pH, deposition time, thickness) are determined. The corrosion resistance of the obtained coatings was investigated depending on the change in the process parameters. It is found that the stabilization of the current-free potential and the optimum thickness of the zirconium oxide coating are achieved at close time parameters. The results of corrosion tests are in agreement with the adhesion strength of the obtained oxide-zirconium coatings on iron base in the temperature range 30-40°C. It is shown that the formed oxide-zirconium coatings satisfy the requirements imposed on adhesion layers for paint coatings. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

FeCrAl alloys having the composition of chromium added to iron is peculiar by in the increased corrosion resistance of the new metallic alloy compared to pure iron. Such FeChAl alloys are used in numerous different applications as a corrosion resistant, oxidation resistant and heat resistant material. Owing to their resistance and good mechanical characteristics, FeCrAl alloys are regarded as one of the main structural materials for use in nuclear power plants. They are commonly used within industrial applications where high-temperature oxidation resistance is needed. The good resistance to oxidation, sulfur resistance and corrosion resistance are attained due to a dense oxide film formed on the surface that prevents the rapid further degradation of the material. In this study, two FeCrAl alloys are investigated - Kh15Yu5 (15%Cr5%Al) and Kh23Yu5 (23%Cr5%Al). Using the method of Mössbauer spectroscopy, the study was conducted on the influence of temperature and period of heating on the cold-rolled ribbon of FeCrAl alloys Kh15Yu5 and Kh23Yu5 with the thickness of 50 µm. It is shown that these alloys, as a result of thermal effect, are prone to the layering in solid solution, forming the areas depleted and enriched with chromium and aluminum. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
