2. A Survey of Datasets for Information Diffusion Tasks

Abstract

Information diffusion across various new media platforms gradually influences perceptions, decisions, and social behaviors of individual users. In communication studies, the famous Five W's of Communication model (5W Model) has displayed the process of information diffusion clearly. At present, although plenty of studies and corresponding datasets about information diffusion have emerged, a systematic categorization of tasks and an integration of datasets are still lacking. To address this gap, we survey a systematic taxonomy of information diffusion tasks and datasets based on the "5W Model" framework. We first categorize the information diffusion tasks into ten subtasks with definitions and datasets analysis, from three main tasks of information diffusion prediction, social bot detection, and misinformation detection. We also collect the publicly available dataset repository of information diffusion tasks with the available links and compare them based on six attributes affiliated to users and content: user information, social network, bot label, propagation content, propagation network, and veracity label. In addition, we discuss the limitations and future directions of current datasets and research topics to advance the future development of information diffusion. 4. Effects of reactive diluent on processing, structure, and properties of epoxy foams and their sandwich composites

Abstract

Foam sandwich composite (FSC) has recently been widely used in transportation, aerospace, shipping, and construction because of its lightweight, high specific strength, stiffness, and fatigue resistance characteristics. This study aimed to prepare, characterize, and test FSC with different diluent addition amounts. Benzyl glycidyl ester was added to the epoxy foam (EF) as a reactive diluent. Then, the EF was introduced into the three-dimensional hollow composite (3DHC) by vacuum introduction process to prepare the FSC. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis demonstrated that increased diluent content enhanced Si--N bond formation, augmenting thermal stability in resin molecules. The effects of different diluents on the mechanical properties of FSC showed that the mechanical properties of FSC were the best when the diluent content was 5 wt%. Compared with 3DHC, the flat compressive strength, flat tensile strength, and shear strength were increased by 7.2, 6.4, and 2.9 times, respectively. Highlights * Diluent improves foaming agent dispersion by lowering resin viscosity. * Diluent makes the EP easier to be introduced into 3DHC. * FSC demonstrates a 723% increase in flat compression strength. 8. MCDAN: a Multi-scale Context-enhanced Dynamic Attention Network for Diffusion Prediction

Abstract

Information diffusion prediction aims at predicting the target users in the information diffusion path on social networks. Prior works mainly focus on the observed structure or sequence of cascades, trying to predict to whom this cascade will be infected passively. In this study, we argue that user intent understanding is also a key part of information diffusion prediction. We thereby propose a novel Multi-scale Context-enhanced Dynamic Attention Network (MCDAN) to predict which user will most likely join the observed current cascades. Specifically, to consider the global interactive relationship among users, we take full advantage of user friendships and global cascading relationships, which are extracted from the social network and historical cascades, respectively. To refine the model's ability to understand the user's preference for the current cascade, we propose a multi-scale sequential hypergraph attention module to capture the dynamic preference of users at different time scales. Moreover, we design a contextual attention enhancement module to strengthen the interaction of user representations within the current cascade. Finally, to engage the user's own susceptibility, we construct a susceptibility label for each user based on user susceptibility analysis and use the rank of this label for auxiliary prediction. We conduct experiments over four widely used datasets and show that MCDAN significantly overperforms the state-of-the-art models. The average improvements are up to 10.61% in terms of Hits@100 and 9.71% in terms of MAP@100, respectively.

Abstract

This paper presents a unified critical state parameter model for evaluating sand and overconsolidated clay, which is named as CASM-S. The model is formulated in terms of the modification of the clay and sand model, i.e., CASM, by incorporating the subloading surface theory with an overconsolidation state parameter R. Although the standard CASM proves to be useful in modelling overconsolidated clay and sand, the model (1) requires the rate of overconsolidated ratio to be constant which is in contrast to the observed behaviour of soils and (2) only allows elastic deformation to develop at the overconsolidated state that may underestimate the deformation corresponding to the peak stress or be unable to predict the actual stress path. By introducing a new material parameter u to those material properties of the standard CASM, the rate relationship of stressstrain for the CASM-S model is developed. The standard CASM can be either recovered or approximated as a special case of the overconsolidation state assumed in the CASM-S. The numerical integration of the newly proposed model is performed by the modified forward Euler method. Validation with undrained and drained overconsolidated clay and sand have demonstrated the capability of the CASM-S model to well predict the observed soil behaviours. Abstract

BackgroundNatural circulation systems are widely used in the nuclear industry for decay heat removal, post-accident containment cooling, and the cooling of radioactive waste storage facilities. Because a large number of spent fuel assemblies are densely arranged in the spent fuel pool, the spent fuel assemblies in the central area of the spent fuel pool can be approximated as having adiabatic boundary conditions. In the event of a coolant loss accident, the heat generated by the spent fuel assemblies can be exported only by the natural circulation of air.PurposeThis study aims to develop analytical models for fuel assembly natural circulation characteristics independent of the results of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to investigate the natural circulation characteristics of spent fuel pools following a coolant loss accident.MethodsBased on the experimental results of a fuel assembly pressure drop of a full-scale pressurized water reactor (PWR), the Darcy–Forchheimer model was firstly revised to predict the pressure drop of humid air flowing through the fuel assembly. Models for the fuel assembly natural circulation flow rate and peak cladding temperature were then established, and the effects of the relative humidity of air on the models were considered. Finally, these models were applied to investigating effects of total heating power, ambient temperature, and relative humidity on the natural circulation flow rate and peak cladding temperature of the fuel assembly.ResultsThe results show that the models accurately predict the natural circulation flow rate and peak cladding temperature of the fuel assembly under different heating powers, and the errors are less than 25% and 20%, respectively, as compared with the experimental measurement values.ConclusionsThe developed models in this study can be used to study the natural circulation characteristics of full-scale PWR fuel assemblies.
