Background: Wounds repair themselves in a timely and orderly healing pathway, with the result of both functional and anatomical restoration. Time course for wound healing ranges from 5 to 10 days whereas some healing which cannot be repaired in an orderly and timely manner and take beyond 10 days are known as delayed wound healing. Hence it becomes necessary to identify the various risk factors of delayed wound healing and antibiotic resistance found in them. Objective: 1. To find out the proportion of post-operative patients developing delayed wound healing. 2. To study the determinants and microorganisms responsible for of delayed wound healing among post-operative patients. Methodology: Study type: Analytical study, Study design: Prospective study, Study setting: Three tertiary care hospitals in Mangalore, Study population: post-operative patients admitted at these hospitals. Inclusion criteria: Post operative patients with surgical wounds on any part of the body and those admitted for at least 10 days in the hospital after the surgical procedure. Sampling method: Convenience sampling Results: Mean age of the study participants was 47.9 ± 12.4, where Diabetes Mellites (60.7%), Hypertension (82.1%), Smoking (50.8%) along with surgical factors such as size and site of wound was found to significant associated with delayed wound healing. Majority of organisms responsible for delayed wound healing had E-coli (23.4%) followed by Proteus (17.6%) in our study. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) was identified in 2.8% of the cases. Conclusion: It was concluded that comorbidities and surgical parameters, play a significant role in delayed wound healing. Thus, organism and antibiotic profiling is crucial for preventing delayed wound healing.

Background: Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) can result from both physiological and pathological events, the etiology of underlying IDA should be determined. Helicobacter pylori infection in children has mostly been associated with recurrent abdominal pain, gastric dyspepsia, or duodenal-ulcer. Other extra-digestive tract conditions such as iron deficiency or IDA have been recently related to the H. pylori infection. Aims and Objectives: To find out the prevalence of H. pylori infection in children aged 2–18 years with IDA in a tertiary care hospital. Materials and Methods: Across-sectional observational study was carried out in the Department of Paediatrics, Dr. S.N. Medical College, Jodhpur for a period of 1 year. A total of 52 children aged between 2 and 18 years with anemia (as per the WHO criteria of anemia) were evaluated for complete blood count, peripheral blood film and serum ferritin, serum iron, total iron-binding capacity (TIBC), Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and two biopsy specimen evaluated for H. pylori and histopathological changes. Normally distributed data means were compared using student’s t-test unpaired and paired. Proportions were compared using Chi-square or Fisher’s exact test. Results: The prevalence of H. pylori in our study population was 32.69%. In children with H. pylori infection mean S.iron was 25.78±10.24 μg/dl, mean S.TIBC 544.66±91.68 μg/dl, and mean S.ferritin was 6.07±3.00 μg/dl. The effect of sodium lignosulfonate (LS) treatment on nylon fabric for enhancing its ultraviolet protection ability has been studied. Various concentrations of LS were applied on nylon fabric using the exhaust method and the treatment was optimized using Box–Behnken response surface design. The ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) is achieved, as high as 62.13 with one such LS-treated nylon fabric. The LS-treated nylon fabrics were characterized using FTIR, FESEM, Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), and Thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) instruments. The UPF and color-strength (K/S) values are significantly increased with an increase in the concentration of LS without any loss of tensile properties and thermal stability. The LS treatment has excellent wash fastness.

Purpose The online learning environment is a function of dynamic market forces constantly restructuring the e-learning landscape's complete ecosystemcape. This study aims to propose an e-learning framework by integrating the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) to predict students' Online Learning Readiness and Behaviour. Design/methodology/approach A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 406 students through a survey. The data were analysed using two-stage structural equation modelling and artificial neural network (ANN). Findings The study's results revealed that perceived ubiquity (PUB) positively influences perceived ease of use, usefulness and attitude. Similarly, perceived mobility significantly influences perceived ease of use and attitude. Furthermore, attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioural control and perceived usefulness significantly influence readiness to learn online, which further influences students' online learning behaviour. The root-mean-square error (RMSE) values obtained from the ANN analysis indicate the models' predictive solid accuracy. Originality/value The study contributes to the existing literature by proposing an Online Learning Behaviour Model by integrating the TAM and the TPB frameworks in association with two additional constructs, PUB and Perceived Mobility. Secondly, this study proposes a unique triangulation framework of recommendations for learners, educators and policymakers.

Purpose: ChatGPT, a cutting-edge language model, stands as an unparalleled, unmatched conversational ally, showcasing novel versatility and intelligence in its responses. This research delves into the incorporation of ChatGPT, a powerful generative AI tool, into professional communication. This study utilizes the information system success model (ISSM) to examine the role of ChatGPT in strengthening information quality (IQ), system quality (SQ) and service quality (SEQ) for improving customer usage intention (UI) and satisfaction (SAT). The study also investigates the moderating impact of perceived innovativeness between these relationships. Design/methodology/approach: The research collected data from a sample of 400 customers through an online survey and validated the hypothesized relationships using structural equation modelling (SEM). Process Macros 4.1 in SPSS 22.0 is used to test the moderating role of perceived innovation between IQ, SQ and SEQ and UI and SAT. Findings: The results of SEM analysis indicate that IQ, SQ and SEQ all positively support UI to use ChatGPT for professional communication with SAT. The result also establishes that perceived innovativeness positively moderates the relationship between IQ, SQ and SEQ and UI and SAT. Originality/value: This research study offers novel contributions to the literature and body of knowledge by establishing the moderating role of perceived innovativeness in strengthening the relationship between IQ, SQ and SEQ and UI and SAT. Further, this study also proposes a 2*2 matrix to segment the UI and SAT of ChatGPT users in professional communication with varying degrees of perceived innovativeness.

As wildfire events become more frequent, there is a need to better understand the impact of smoke on the environment and human health. Smoke, or biomass burning aerosol (BBA), can undergo atmospheric processing changing its chemical and optical properties. We examined the interactions between four lignin pyrolysis products (catechol, syringol, syringic acid, and vanillic acid) and three BBA-relevant iron oxide mineral phases (hematite, maghemite, and magnetite) using attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and dissolved iron measurements to better understand how atmospheric processing changes concentrations of soluble iron, iron oxidation state, and brown carbon abundance. Reductive dissolution was the primary dissolution mechanism for catechol and syringol, which led to a substantial amount of iron release (p < 0.05), whereas syringic and vanillic acids had little impact on dissolution. Comparisons with other BBA relevant compounds highlight the importance of both steric and electronic structures in the reductive dissolution process. The maghemite and magnetite phases, which are more likely to be present in BBA, released significantly more dissolved iron than hematite (p < 0.05), emphasizing the need to use BBA relevant iron oxide proxies in laboratory studies. This work provides insight into observations of iron dissolution and transformation of organics in BBA.
