Bu tez kapsamında katı oksit yakıt pili (KOYP) membran elektrot grubu (MEG) tarafından üretilen akımın toplanmasının yanı sıra gerekli yakıt ve oksitleyicinin sisteme homojen bir şekilde dağılmasını sağlayan ve üzerlerinde akış kanallarını barındıran metalik interkonnektörlere odaklanılmıştır. Bu akış alanlarının geometrisi ısı, madde ve momentum aktarımını önemli ölçüde etkilediği için, KOYP performansı diğer elemanların özelliklerinin yanı sıra interkonnektör tasarımı ile de değişmektedir. Bu çalışmada kütük malzemeden talaşlı imalat ile akış alanları işlenen ve bu yüzden ağır ve yüksek hacimli geleneksel interkonnektör tasarımı yerine, pres ile ince sac malzemeden üretilmiş ve farklı akış kanallarına sahip interkonnektör tasarımları sayısal olarak incelenmiştir. Bu kapsamda MEG ve iki akış kanalından oluşan farklı KOYP hücreleri sayısal olarak analiz edilerek madde ve akım dağılımlarının yanı sıra hücre performansları da belirlenmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda optimum kanal derinlik ve genişliğinin 0,5 mm, kanal açısının ise 90° olduğu belirlenmiştir. Literatürde yer alan benzer bir deneysel çalışma ile de doğrulanan model, optimize edilen akış alanının kullanılması durumunda performansta %7,6’lık bir artış sağlamanın mümkün olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Anahtar Sözcükler: Katı oksit yakıt pili, ince sac interkonnektör, akış alanı, In this thesis, solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) metallic interconnectors, which provide homogeneous distribution of the required fuel and oxidant to the system as well as the collection of the currrent produced by membran electrode assembly (MEA) and contain flow channels, are considered. Since the geometry of these flow fields significantly affects the transfer of heat, species and momentum, the performance of the SOFC varies with the interconnector design, beside the other system elements. In this study, as an alternative to traditional SOFC interconnectors, whose flow channels are fabricated by machining of bulk material and thus are heavy and large, interconnectors having various flow filed geometry and manufactured by pressing are investigated numerially. In this respect, different SOFC cells with single MEA and two flow channels are numerically analyzed and the cell performances as well as species and current distributions are determined. The results indicate that the optimum channel depth and width are 0.5 mm while the optimum channel angle is 90°. The model, which was also verified with a similar experimental study in the literature, revealed that it is possible to achieve a 7.6% increase in performance if the optimized flow-field geometry is used. Bu çalışmada çift taraflı montaj bandında karışık modelli üretim tip-I dengelemesiüzerinde yoğunlaşılır. Belirli bir zaman dilimi için hedef bir üretim adedimevcuttur ve amaç bu üretimi en az iş gücüyle gerçekleştirmektir. Çalışmada buprobleme optimal çözüm sağlayan matematiksel bir model geliştirilir. Ancak,büyük ölçekli problemlerde matematiksel model makul sürelerde optimal çözümübulamamaktadır. Bu yüzden, büyük ölçekli problemler için ?eşik kabulü?sezgiseline dayanan bir sezgisel yöntem geliştirilir. Hem matematiksel model,hem de sezgisel yöntem ile literatürden seçilen örnek problemler ile buzdolabıüretiminden seçilen bir vaka analizi problemi çözülür. Her iki yöntemin değişenproblem parametrelerine göre oluşan performansı incelenir. Geliştirilen sezgiselyöntemin makul çözüm sürelerinde çok iyi sonuçlar sağladığı gözlemlenir. In this study we focus on two-sided mixed-model assembly line balancing type-Iproblem. There is a production target for a fixed time horizon and the objective isto produce this amount with the minimum level of workforce. A mathematicalmodel is developed to solve this problem in an optimal manner. For large scaleproblems, the mathematical model fails to give the optimal solution withinreasonable computational times. Thus, a heuristic approach based on thresholdaccepting algorithm is presented. Both the mathematical model and the heuristicapproach are executed to solve several example problems from the literature anda case study problem which is derived from the refrigerator production.Computational experiments are carried out using both approaches. It is observedthat the heuristic procedure finds good solutions within very reasonablecomputational times. 160

Ayrıca Kayseri Tayyare Fabrika'sında üretilen uçakların modelleri, özellikleri, fabrikanın bölümleri, fabrikanın kapatılma süreci ve kapanmasına etki eden faktörler ortaya konulmuştur. This study, first of all, briefly discusses the origins of Turkish aviation, the developmental process of Turkish aviation in the 19th and 20th century and the operations performed during the Balkan Wars I and II, the Battle of Tripoli and the World War I. Furthermore, it mentions the operations performed to supply aircraft and reconstruct Turkish aviation during the War of Independence.The study mainly focuses on the stages gone through during the establishment of Kayseri Aircraft Factory. It deals with the conclusion of the agreement to construct an aircraft factory in Turkey, after getting in touch with Junkers, a German aircraft company during the developmental process of national aviation industry and the influence of the financial crisis that Junkers had on the establishment of the factory in detail. In addition, the models of the aircraft manufactured in Kayseri Aircraft Factory and their features, the sections of the factory, the process of the shutdown of the factory and the factors which lead to the shutdown are cited.

PURPOSE: To present the clinical features and angiographic findings of choroidal involvement in two cases with miliary tuberculosis. METHODS: 49-year and 23-year-old men were hospitalized for fever of unknown origin and they received a diagnosis of miliary tuberculosis following the systemic work-up. Both cases experienced mild visual acuity disturbances prior to initiation of systemic treatment. They underwent full ophthalmological examination including fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography. RESULTS: The visual acuity of first case was 20/30 in OD, and 20/25 in OS. There was trace of cells in the anterior chamber and mild vitritis OU. Visual acuity of the second case was 20/20 OU. Anterior segment was unremarkable OU. Ophthalmoscopy of both cases showed cream-colored patchy choroidal infiltrations especially located at the posterior pole OU. Fluorescein and indocyanine green angiographies were obtained with Heidelberg scanning laser ophthalmoscope. These lesions were hypofluorescent in early phases of fluorescein angiography and demonstrated gradually increased hyperfluorescence in late phases. Same lesions were hypofluorescent throughout the indocyanine green angiography and well delineated. Both patients received a systemic treatment of isoniazid, rifampicin, ethambutol and morphazinamide. Most of the choroidal lesions resolved without apparent changes whereas some healed as chorioretinal scars. CONCLUSION: In patients with miliary tuberculosis, indocyanine green angiography seems to show choroidal involvement much better than the fluorescein angiography and may be a more important diagnostic tool than fluorescein angiography during the disease course.

Papillary-follicular thyroid carcinoma usually remains localized to the thyroid bed, and in cases of metastasis, almost always involves the lungs, bones, or liver. Brain metastasis is rare and there has been no reported case of epidural metastasis of thyroid carcinomas in the literature up to date. A frontal epidural mass lesion was excised and histologically found to be a follicular thyroid carcinoma metastasis.

Childhood meningiomas, besides their rarity, grow fast, recur frequently and have a dismal prognosis when compared with adult tumors. A five year old patient presenting with headache, emesis and left hemiparesia was admitted to our hospital in 1990. On computerized tomography a 85x80x87 mm mass in the right frontoparietal region surrounded by significant edema, having a wide base on the falx causing 2 cm shift to left was found. The patient was operated on in our clinic with a diagnosis of multilobuled giant intracranial meningioma. The tumor showing frequent recurrence and sarcomatous changes is presented and discussed. Although the CT findings in this case suggest malignancy the behavior of the meningiomas is usually determined by histologic nature. In cases where frequent recurrence is seen the period between recurrences diminishes in time. Therefore CT controls are important in diagnosing recurrence. Total excision in early stage may increase the chance of survival.
