The term «therapeutic alliance» is an umbrella term that has been used to put together many different concepts and therefore cannot be taken as a valid scientific construct. A clear evolutionary path is missing in its century of history and, instead, we witness a fluctuation in different polarities (antinomies): (a) suggestion/indoctrination/persuasion, against the dogma of neutrality; (b) the distance and power gap between patient and therapist; (c) the degree of proactivity/passiveness required of the patient; (d) oscillations between a polarity ruled by the rational mind and the one ruled by the heart with its passions, emotions, experiences and conflicts; (e) the oscillations between exploration and change. The study of interpersonal relationships is rooted in a philosophical, and more broadly, a humanistic tradition, which has a millenary bibliography at the very least. The way we deal with interpersonal relations, and therapeutic ones, has been influenced by our implicit theory of the nature of man. Regarding teaching and training, the relationship is to be considered a craft or even an art form. Artisans and artists learn their job by doing practical training in a workshop, alongside a good teacher. We therefore suggest switching the research focus towards individuals and more narrow constructs as, for example, adherence, empathy, therapeutic contract, case formulation and working alliance. To conclude, we suggest bidding farewell to the term «therapeutic relationship», because it is far too generic to be used today with good outcomes in research and teaching and also for the formulation of sound theories both in scientific and clinical fields. Over the last decade, a significant vector of Ukrainian literature was the reception of the traumatic stress caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war. The works of Kateryna Kalytko, representing intensive metamodern explorations in contemporary poetry, occupy a significant place in this trend. The article interprets the poet’s idiostyle based on the collection People with Verbs (2022). This study focuses on the analysis of folklore archetypes in the author’s poetry, motifs, and verbal structures, whose origins are rooted in ancient Ukrainian incantational traditions. It also covers the interpretation of the poet’s meditative experience with the magic of language, its role in strengthening the spiritual axiology of a person suffering from terrorist aggression, and the establishment of a stoical worldview despite the fragility of life. This article aims to establish the concept of ‘incantation’ as a unifying system within the metaphorical world of the poetry collection People with Verbs. The term ‘incantation’ is interpreted as the functioning of verbal constructions aimed at healing from trauma, and the composition of incantatory metaphorical texts, inspired by the belief in the magical power of words. The paper applies such methods as comparative, structural, semiotic, anthropological, and hermeneutical analysis, as well as elements of the psychological school of literary studies. The study proves the actualization of the sacred worldview pre-system in the artistic thinking of contemporary Ukrainian poets, as illustrated by Kateryna Kalytko’s collection People with Verbs. It focuses on the author’s reflections and meditations during the war, appeals to suggestive speech preserved by genetic memory, and the use of its structures as a form of defence and resistance. The binary time-spatial model of the poet is marked by the cult of night, which corresponds to the ritual and spiritual practice in the field of the mystical. Kateryna Kalytko intensively operates with pagan archetypes and signs, and resorts to the use of proper names, emphasizing that even their pronunciation has a protective energy. The figurative system of corporeality, which is in line with the tradition of incantations, is indicative of the poetics of the collection. It concerns the specific markings (eyes, head, lips, muscles, lungs, heart, spine, knees, joints, throat, intestines, entrails, veins, etc.) that are part of the metaphorical structures of the incantatory nature. There are parallels with the healing modus of folk spells, firstly, the poetess tries to stop the bloodshed and protect the defenders with her words. In the spirit of the ethnocultural tradition, Kateryna Kalytko endows certain lexical signs with the function of verbal amulets (earth, roots, river, boat, stones, wood, forest, house, fire, wind, bird, feather, beast, iron, ash, crystal, etc.) At the same time, the poet’s metaphor is an objectification of the extrasensory perception of the act of speaking. The focus of Kateryna Kalytko’s artistic studio is the articulatory apparatus, the miracle of the birth of sound and voice, as evidenced by a number of tropes, whose centre is the word “throat”. The poet also tries to comprehend the changes in phonetics, vocabulary, morphology, and stylistics caused by the war. Kateryna Kalytko’s poetic search is correlated with the philosophical interpretation of the phenomenon of language by M. Heidegger, H.-G. Gadamer, and K. Jasperas. For the author, in accordance with the realities of war, the well-known statement “language is home” is transformed into the metaphor “language is a shelter”. Thus, in Kateryna Kalytko’s idiostyle, one can guess the pathos of whisperers, fortune tellers, healers, and molfars who resist evil with words. At the same time, the image of the author-medium is complemented by the hypostases of a witness of the Russian-Ukrainian war and a philologist.

The advent of the modernist movement ushered in numerous transformations in contemporary Arabic poetry, influencing its essence, form, and substance. Among these transformations was the emergence of the Symbolist school within Arabic poetry. The underlying philosophy posits that the essence of things cannot be comprehended in themselves; rather, external phenomena derive their existence solely through mental images. This philosophical standpoint prompted a debate regarding language, with some critics questioning its capability to accurately represent the truths of things, viewing language instead as symbols animated by mental imagery. Thus, language becomes a vehicle for suggestion. In this research, the author employs a descriptive-analytical methodology to elucidate the concept of symbolism both linguistically and terminologically, its defining characteristics, the reasons for its emergence, and its manifestation among Arab poets. The study further delves into the poetry of Nizar Qabbani, highlighting elements of symbolism in his work, including suggestive expressions and imagery, colors, synesthesia, and mythology. The research concludes that the Symbolist movement carved out a significant niche among Arabic poets, particularly between 1935 and 1945. The hallmarks of Symbolism are prominently visible in Nizar Qabbani's poetry, manifesting through suggestive language and imagery, vibrant colors, synesthetic experiences, and mythological references. Nizar offered readers a poetic corpus rich in suggestive symbols, steering clear of the ambiguity and obscurity that often characterize the work of those who embrace Symbolism as their literary creed. Charles Lloyd Tuckey (1854–1925) was one of the leaders of the British 'New Hypnotism' movement of the late nineteenth century. This neglected figure is important because of his contributions to the early psychotherapies in Britain, ushering in the concept of suggestion to British medicine from Europe. Through his networks and clubs, Tuckey demonstrates the bewildering range of institutions that shaped and spread the novel theory of suggestion and the nascent talking therapies at this time. His affiliations to psychic investigation and ceremonial magic societies demonstrate his intellectual curiosity rather than backwards primitivism. Tuckey played an important role in establishing the term 'psychotherapeutics' and legitimising medical hypnotism, a precursor of the psychological therapies of the early twentieth century. In Parkinson’s disease (PD) patients, verbal suggestions have been shown to modulate motor and clinical outcomes in treatment with subthalamic deep brain stimulation (DBS). Furthermore, DBS may alleviate pain in PD. However, it is unknown if verbal suggestions influence DBS’ effects on pain.

The article focuses on the utilization of clinical hypnosis in the practice of anesthesiology, offering a practical guide for anesthetists to incorporate hypnosis into their clinical approach effectively. Topics covered include the benefits of hypnosis in anesthesia, practical techniques for induction and deepening, and considerations for incorporating hypnosis into preoperative and postoperative care.

A clinical experience from about forty-five years ago is recounted in which a patient suffering from hysterical paralysis of the legs was treated with a brief suggestive intervention which allowed him to regain the use of his lower limbs. The therapist had no experience of hypnosis, and the intervention, which lasted about twenty minutes, was improvised, employing various suggestive techniques and also including attempts to interpret unconscious conflicts. Objectives: We aimed to evaluate whether deep learning–based detection and quantification of brain metastasis (BM) may suggest treatment options for patients with BMs. Methods: The deep learning system (DLS) for detection and quantification of BM was developed in 193 patients and applied to 112 patients that were newly detected on black-blood contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging. Patients were assigned to one of 3 treatment suggestion groups according to the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO)-European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) recommendations using number and volume of the BMs detected by the DLS: short-term imaging follow-up without treatment (group A), surgery or stereotactic radiosurgery (limited BM, group B), or whole-brain radiotherapy or systemic chemotherapy (extensive BM, group C). The concordance between the DLS-based groups and clinical decisions was analyzed with or without consideration of targeted agents. The performance of distinguishing high-risk (B + C) was calculated. Results: Among 112 patients (mean age 64.3 years, 63 men), group C had the largest number and volume of BM, followed by group B (4.4 and 851.6 mm3) and A (1.5 and 15.5 mm3). The DLS-based groups were concordant with the actual clinical decisions, with an accuracy of 76.8% (86 of 112). Modified accuracy considering targeted agents was 81.3% (91 of 112). The DLS showed 95% (82/86) sensitivity and 81% (21/26) specificity for distinguishing the high risk. Conclusion: DLS-based detection and quantification of BM have the potential to be helpful in the determination of treatment options for both low- and high-risk groups of limited and extensive BMs. Clinical relevance statement: For patients with newly diagnosed brain metastasis, deep learning–based detection and quantification may be used in clinical settings where prompt and accurate treatment decisions are required, which can lead to better patient outcomes. The genetic basis of many epilepsies is increasingly understood, giving rise to the possibility of precision treatments tailored to specific genetic etiologies. Despite this, current medical therapy for most epilepsies remains imprecise, aimed primarily at empirical seizure reduction rather than targeting specific disease processes. Intellectual and technological leaps in diagnosis over the past 10 years have not yet translated to routine changes in clinical practice. However, the epilepsy community is poised to make impressive gains in precision therapy, with continued innovation in gene discovery, diagnostic ability, and bioinformatics; increased access to genetic testing and counseling; fuller understanding of natural histories; agility and rigor in preclinical research, including strategic use of emerging model systems; and engagement of an evolving group of stakeholders (including patient advocates, governmental resources, and clinicians and scientists in academia and industry). In each of these areas, we highlight notable examples of recent progress, new or persistent challenges, and future directions. The future of precision medicine for genetic epilepsy looks bright if key opportunities on the horizon can be pursued with strategic and coordinated effort.

Abstract Effective coping with acute stress is important to promote mental health and to build stress resilience. Interventions improving stress coping usually require long training periods. In this study, we present a hypnosis-based intervention that produces long-term effects after a single hypnosis session. In that session, we established a post-hypnotic safety suggestion that participants can activate afterwards with a cue, the Jena Safety Anchor. We tested 60 participants in our study who all received the hypnosis session and a stress task. The safety group used the Jena Safety Anchor during acute stress (Trier Social Stress Test, TSST). The control group used a neutral anchor. We measured subjective stress responses via self-reports and physiological stress responses via saliva and blood samples as well as heart rate. One week later, all participants filled in an online survey to measure long-term effects of the post-hypnotic safety suggestion. We found that participants using the Jena Safety Anchor during the TSST reported significantly lower stress compared to the control group. The safety group also reported significantly fewer negative thoughts concerning their TSST performance than the control group during the stress recovery phase and 1 week later. All participants indicated that the Jena Safety Anchor still worked 1 week after its establishment. Suggestibility did not affect the efficacy of the Jena Safety Anchor. Our findings demonstrate that post-hypnotic safety suggestions improve stress coping with long-lasting effects, which makes it a promising intervention to promote mental health and establish stress resilience in just one hypnosis session.

We report on a survey of 258 psychotherapists from Germany, focusing on their experiences with memory recovery in general, suggestive therapy procedures, evaluations of recovered memories, and memory recovery in training and guidelines. Most therapists (78%) reported instances of memory recovery encompassing negative and positive childhood experiences, but usually in a minority of patients. Also, most therapists (82%) reported to have held assumptions about unremembered trauma. Patients who held these beliefs were reported by 83% of the therapists. Both therapist and patient assumptions reportedly occurred in a minority of cases. Furthermore, 35% of participants had used therapeutic techniques at least once to recover presumed trauma memories. Only 10% reported assuming trauma in most patients and recovering purported memories in a majority of the attempts. A fifth believed memory recovery was a task of psychotherapy. This belief correlated with trauma assumptions, memory recovery attempts, and recovery frequency. Psychodynamic therapists more often reported to assume trauma behind symptoms and agreed more with problematic views on trauma and memory. No differences showed regarding suggestive behaviour in therapy. Most participants expressed interest in receiving support on dealing with memory recoveries. The article includes a theoretical overview of the ideas of two scientists: Georgi Lozanov (Bulgaria) and Israel Shvarts (Russia) and an empirical study of their popularity and use by Bulgarian public school teachers. The two scientists worked in the 70s of the 20th century and came to have similar psychological and pedagogical ideas in the field of learning. They are related to the role of suggestion and relaxation in the educational design of children and adolescents, as an opportunity for its optimization and charging with emotions and positive experiences, or as a means of relaxation and recovery. Based on the statistic data derived from Society of Coatings and Finishing of CIESC, National Paint and Coatings Industry Information Center, National Statistics Bureau and industrial survey, this article describes the operation situation of powder coatings industry in China during the period of 2022, and puts forward some suggestions on future development. [Objective] In order to provide some references for the future development of Chinese bryophyte industry, we analyzed the technology level of Chinese bryophyte industry from the perspective of patent. [Method] The State Intellectual Property Office and Baiteng network were used to analyze the patent application status, the regional distribution, the patentee distribution, the main technical topics and predicted the development trend of the key bryophyte industry technology. [Result] It was clear that the industry had entered the rapid development stage since 2012; innovative technologies focused on the cultivation technology, traditional Chinese medicine ingredients, organic fertilizers, building materials, ecological management and other aspects. Shandong, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces were the main regions for technological innovation. [Conclusion] In the future, new products for bryophyte application should be developed, technology research and development in the upper and middle reaches of the bryophyte industry chain should be strengthened, and basic research and application of bryophyte should be strengthened. Functional neurological disorder (FND) involves the presence of neurological symptoms that cannot be explained by neurological disease. FND has long been linked to hypnosis and suggestion, both of which have been used as treatments. Given ongoing interest, this review examined evidence for the efficacy of hypnosis and suggestion as treatment interventions for FND. A systematic search of bibliographic databases was conducted to identify group studies published over the last hundred years. No restrictions were placed on study design, language, or clinical setting. Two reviewers independently assessed papers for inclusion, extracted data, and rated study quality. The search identified 35 studies, including 5 randomised controlled trials, 2 non-randomised trials, and 28 pre-post studies. Of 1584 patients receiving either intervention, 1379 (87%) showed significant improvements, including many who demonstrated resolution of their symptoms in the short-term. Given the heterogeneity of interventions and limitations in study quality overall, more formal quantitative synthesis was not possible. The findings highlight longstanding and ongoing interest in using hypnosis and suggestion as interventions for FND. While the findings appear promising, limitations in the evidence base, reflecting limitations in FND research more broadly, prevent definitive recommendations. Further research seems warranted given these supportive findings. • Studies were identified across the last century involving 1584 participants. • >85% of patients demonstrated clinically significant improvements. • >75% had a resolution or near resolution of symptoms in the short-term. • The evidence base shared limitations with that for other interventions in FND. • Further research is warranted given the promising findings. The article describes the creative productivity of the archaic writing style of O. Storozhenko. His creativity have successfully completed the Gogol era in Ukrainian literature and have become a forerunner of the phenomenon that fully developed in the so-called chimeric prose in the twentieth century. The artistic style of Storozhenko's writing stood out from the rural prose of that period against the background of practical problems, excessive sociologization and populist pathos of the mid-nineteenth century. Instead, accusations of peasantry, ethnography, local exoticism and trivial biography in the context of modern literary approaches are given to a new reading of this national-aesthetic phenomenon as heterogeneous one, imbued with stylistic innovations, invisible fusion of writing with ideology and aesthetics. The study proves the actualization of the sacred worldview pre-system in the artistic thinking of contemporary Ukrainian poets, as illustrated by Kateryna Kalytko’s collection People with Verbs. It focuses on the author’s reflections and meditations during the war, appeals to suggestive speech preserved by genetic memory, and the use of its structures as a form of defence and resistance. The binary time-spatial model of the poet is marked by the cult of night, which corresponds to the ritual and spiritual practice in the field of the mystical. Kateryna Kalytko intensively operates with pagan archetypes and signs, and resorts to the use of proper names, emphasizing that even their pronunciation has a protective energy. The figurative system of corporeality, which is in line with the tradition of incantations, is indicative of the poetics of the collection. It concerns the specific markings (eyes, head, lips, muscles, lungs, heart, spine, knees, joints, throat, intestines, entrails, veins, etc.) that are part of the metaphorical structures of the incantatory nature. There are parallels with the healing modus of folk spells, firstly, the poetess tries to stop the bloodshed and protect the defenders with her words. In the spirit of the ethnocultural tradition, Kateryna Kalytko endows certain lexical signs with the function of verbal amulets (earth, roots, river, boat, stones, wood, forest, house, fire, wind, bird, feather, beast, iron, ash, crystal, etc.) At the same time, the poet’s metaphor is an objectification of the extrasensory perception of the act of speaking. The focus of Kateryna Kalytko’s artistic studio is the articulatory apparatus, the miracle of the birth of sound and voice, as evidenced by a number of tropes, whose centre is the word “throat”. The poet also tries to comprehend the changes in phonetics, vocabulary, morphology, and stylistics caused by the war. Kateryna Kalytko’s poetic search is correlated with the philosophical interpretation of the phenomenon of language by M. Heidegger, H.-G. Gadamer, and K. Jasperas. For the author, in accordance with the realities of war, the well-known statement “language is home” is transformed into the metaphor “language is a shelter”. Thus, in Kateryna Kalytko’s idiostyle, one can guess the pathos of whisperers, fortune tellers, healers, and molfars who resist evil with words. This study demonstrates how algorithms can assist humans in decision-making in the apparel industry. A two-stage method including suggestions and intelligent forecasting was proposed. In the first stage, a web crawler was used to browse a B2C apparel website to identify popular products. In the second stage, machine learning methods were used to predict the sales demand for new products. Additionally, we used Google Trends to collect external information indices to adjust the demand forecasting. Our numerical study shows that the intelligent forecasting approach can effectively reduce the Mean Square Error (MSE), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) by at least 45.79, 26.35, and 26.34 %, respectively. Musical Impressionism is one of the currents that reflected the anti-romantic discourse of the beginning of the 20th century, having a resonance only in the French cultural space - where the preference for suggestion, for deliberately imprecise tone and nuance has always worked. Although musicological studies do not display very important differences in attitude when it comes to defining impressionist compositions, musicologists’ opinions sometimes diverge. However, taking into consideration the extent to which the comparative method and the stylistic analysis, applied to music, can be conditioned by subjective experiences, the discrepancies can be said to be almost negligible. Basically, the opinion is that the elements of Impressionism in the first half of the 20th century were the most marked in certain compositions by Petar Konjović (1883-1970), Miloje Milojević (1884-1946) and Stevan Hristić (1885-1958), and to a lesser degree (only in the case of a few parameters of the musical language) we can see them in certain compositions by other composers. The production capacity, apparent consumption, product structure and develop trend of TiO2 industry in 2022 have been described. The market situation of TiO2 and its related products is reviewed, such as the upstream industries including titanium mine and sulphuric acid and the downstream industries including coatings, printing inks, plastic, paper making and chemical fiber. In our study, we use the post-hypnotic suggestion of easy remembering to improve memory with long-lasting effects. We tested 24 highly suggestible participants in an online study. Participants learned word lists and recalled them later in a recognition memory task. At the beginning of the study, participants were hypnotized and the post-hypnotic suggestion to remember easily was associated with a cue that participants used during the recognition memory task. In a control condition, the same participants used a neutral cue. One week later, participants repeated both conditions with new word lists.Participants were significantly faster and more confident in their recognition ratings in the easy-remembering condition compared to the control condition, and this effect persisted over one week. Crucially, the increased speed and confidence in the easy-remembering condition did not affect memory accuracy. That makes our hypnosis intervention promising for patients experiencing subjective memory impairments. In the Romanian context of the 1970s, how was it possible to produce a work of art that the authorities deemed too realistic? How can one understand the critique of an excess of realism when in 1971 the doctrine of Socialist Realism was re-established? This essay examines the notion of realism as forged by Romanian artist Ion Grigorescu. Drawing on recent writings in the theory of photography, it helps us understand how Grigorescu used the photographic medium to produce works, which, whilst adhering to realism’s principles, contravened the regime’s prescriptions. The use the artist made of the term "document" to circumvent official injunctions along with the national and international artistic sources of his work are among the questions addressed in this article to show how, even in a Communist country, dissent could walk on the paths of realism.

INTRODUCTION: The prevention and control of dyslipidemia, as an important risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), is a priority for the healthcare system to reduce the burden of these diseases. The purpose of this protocol is to outline the key steps of the first Iranian Dyslipidemia Clinical Practice Guideline development, which can be used by other researchers as a guide to design a standard, comprehensive, evidence-based, and local context-based guideline.METHOD: This guideline will be developed and reported according to the format of the World Health Organization (WHO) Handbook for Guideline Development. All members of the guideline development team will sign the declaration-of-competing-interests (DOI) forms. The development of the authors’ guideline will be supported by five groups: the steering committee (SC), the Guideline Developing Group (GDG), the systematic review (evidence synthesis) group, and the external review group. The authors will also establish a patient advisory group to inform guideline development by patients’ values and preferences. The SC and GDG will determine the scope of the guideline and will design PICO questions. The systematic review group will systematically search Embase, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Sciences, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar from inception. The systematic review group will assess the risk of bias and create evidence summaries using the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system. The recommendations of this guideline will be divided into strong recommendations and weak or conditional recommendations or suggestions.CONCLUSION: This clinical practice guideline will provide clinicians and healthcare professionals with new evidence-based recommendations for the diagnosis, management, and treatment of dyslipidemia in children and adults.
