Clerodendron inerme is used to treat asthma, inflammation, Parkinson’s diseases, and other diseases.This research is aimed to determine antibacterial and antioxidant effects in the anthraquinones’ fraction of Clerodendron inerme leaves.Well-diffusion agar, minimum inhibitory concentration, and minimal bactericidal concentration were used to test the antibacterial properties of the four types of bacteria.DPPH radical scavenging assay was used to evaluate their antioxidant activity.GC-MS and FTIR analysis were used to identify anthraquinones compounds of the leaves in the plant.Anthraquinones component from the leaves of C.inerme has shown significant inhibition against pathogenic bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The anthraquinones extract of plant leaves has higher antioxidant activity compared to the control (ascorbic acid).IR spectra of anthraquinones extract from the leaves of C.inerme exhibited O-H stretching as a strong band at 3347.84 cm-1.C-H stretch bands are found in bands 2924.15 and 2857.29 cm-1. C= O group are located in the bands of 1733.18 cm-1 and 1637.72 cm-1. The C-H bending groups at 1375.64 cm-1 and the C-O groups at 1236.81 and 1050.16 cm-1 were detected. GC-MS results of the leaves of C.inerme identified specific anthraquinones compounds are Emodin, 1,4-Dihydroxyanthraquinone, 1-ethoxyanthraquinone, 2-Ethylanthraquinone, 9,10-Anthracenedione, 1,5- Dihydroxyanthrachinon, 1,4-Dimethoxybenzene, 1,4-Cyclohexanedione, and 2,3-Dimethylquinone. In conclusion, the anthraquinones of the green part of this plant have good antibacterial and antioxidant activities. The results suggest that anthraquinones from the leaves of C.inerme are a source of antimicrobials agents against harmful bacteria and antioxidant sources.

The congenital head anomalies are most often used to describe defects in the eyes, mouth, nose, skull, and or brain. The faulty embryogenesis most likely found to be associated with abnormal genetic or epigenetic causes during pregnancy. Eventually it leads to congenital anomalies. Rabbit-headed Lamb (RH) is a disorder in sheep breeding that is characterized by some deformities in the head and the face. A dead –day old- crossbred white Najdi lamb with a deformed face and head was reported to be born in the current case. The external and physical examination revealed a deformed skull and facial region with a unilateral eye, fused mouth, piglike nose, and patent skull with the brain coming out from left eye orbit. Additionally, the lamb was very skinny with unusual long extremities. This is the first report of this syndrome that describes such deformities in a stillbirth Najdi breed lamb.

Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) or Neural Control Interface (NCI), is a distinct and global technology that has revolutionized the world of control and signal processing. This technology has helped link humans and computers to achieve goals that are difficult to achieve for certain patients or people. This work combines the cutting edge BCI strategies into one single framework to control a 3D arm. In the proposed experiment, brain signals are utilized to move the automated arm and perform various assignments such as move any finger of the hand. To provide movement to the 3D arm robot in real-time, we acquired EEG data based 10-20 international system and forwarded these signals to the processing computer using OpenBCI Wi-FI, OpenBCI cyton board, and controlling the servo motors using OpenBCI GUI and Arduino Uno. The BCI designed system was evaluated by a real-time experiment study and applied on man and woman were induced by opening and closing hands, also the validation process has been done with different frequency and voltages where the experimental results demonstrate that the process will operate as designed with extreme precision and high performance.

Background: Galium aparine has a long history of use as an alternative medicine and is still used widely bymodern herbalists. It is a fabulous diuretic that is often taken to treat skin problems. It treats many problemssuch as seborrhoea, eczema, psoriasis. It also acts as a great detoxifying agent in life-threatening ailmentslike cancer. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in light skinned populations around the world.Aim: The aim of the study was to evaluate the anticancer efficacy of greensynthesised silver nanoparticles(AgNPs) of Gallium aparine extract.Method: The green part of the plant G.aparne extracted with ethanol 70%, then divided into four fractionsto prepare stable AgNPs .Results: Several tests were performed to examine the extracts and AgNPs, including SEM,FTIR and UVVS. Scanning electron microscope(SEM)micrographs showed that the diameters range of AgNPs formedwere from 35-110 nm.Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) shows that there were two functional groups, thearomatic (C=C) and hydroxyl (– OH), groups may be involve in the fabrication of AgNPs. UV-VS showsthat there were a peaks at 298,448, 534, 606, 648, for nanoscale petroleum ether extract. These peaks maybeindicate the synthesis of AgNPs. Different concentrations (6.225 - 400 µg/ml), of petroleum ether extractand its green AgNPswere tested as anti-skin cancer, the nanoparticles had appositive effect against cancer,the IC50 for the petroleum ether extract was 730.2 and 116.5 of normal cell line (WRL 68) and cancer cellline (A375), respectively,while the IC50 for the AgNPs of Gallium aparine extract was 294.4 and 77.03ofnormal cell line (WRL 68) and cancer cell line (A375)respectively.Discussion: This indicates that the G. aparine extract is a good biological carrier for synthesizing silvernanoparticles which has potential for various biomedical and pharmaceutical applications.Conclusion: AgNPs have been successfully synthesized using G . aparian extract, The nanoparticles haveshown good anticancer activity towards human skin cancer cells.

Aim of this research was quantitative detection of Increase and decrease in copy number of CaMV-35S promoter and Nos terminator in genetic modified tomato by using Real-time PCR. Twenty four samples of genetic modified tomato seeds were isolated from 84 tomato samples collected from Iraqi markets during the period from December 2016 to January 2017. The experiences were conducted in the Institute of Genetic Engineering, University of Baghdad. Go Taq®qPCR master mix kit supplied by USA Promega Company, three specific primers to CaMV-35S promoter, T-Nos terminator and β-actin housekeeping gene supplied by Canadian Alpha Company were used. To quantitative detection of increase and decrease in copy number of GM tomato samples contain CaMV-35S promoter and T-Nos terminator, comparing with the β-actin (houskeeping gene) using Multiple of Median (MoM) equation. The results showed that the lowest recorded of Ct value was (27.88) for CaMV-35S promoter gave an increase in copy number (1.1766) above the normal limit, while highest recorded of Ct value was (32.67) gave an increase in copy number (1.0350) above the normal limit. The lowest recorded of Ct value was (27.35) for T-Nos terminator gave an increase in copy number (1.1600) above the normal limit, whereas highest recorded of Ct value was (32.82) gave a decrease in copy number (0.9920) under the normal limit.

The aim of this study was to identify changes in the gene expression of blaOXA genes in Acinetobacter baumannii, isolated from burn wounds, in response to subinhibitory concentrations of Imipenem. The gene expression of blaOXA genes was conducted by using real-time quantitative PCR assay. Ten isolates were chosen which had high resistance to Imipenem with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) from 16 to >256 μg/ml and also contained the two blaOXA genes 23 and 24. It was found that the highest value of gene expression fold was recorded for the gene blaOXA23 (6.96) in the local isolate K5 in contrast with the Imipenem untreated samples, while the highest value of fold for blaOXA24 gene was 3.68. It was obvious there was a direct proportion between MICs values and folds of gene expression, therefore the increase of antibiotic concentration in the growth medium led to increasing of gene expression. The results of 16S rRNA gene expression, which was used as a reference gene, demonstrated that this gene was well suited as housekeeping gene because of the minimal variations of expression of this gene whether in Imipenem treated and untreated samples. It was concluded that the resistance of A. baumannii to Imipenem was related to the genes blaOXA23 and blaOXA24 but the main role may be due to blaOXA23. The presence of both genes increases the resistance of this species to Imipenem.

Published data from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region indicate suboptimal quality of cancer care, while the World Health Organization predicts an increase in cancer cases in developing countries. Major advances in breast cancer management mandate the development of guidelines to improve the quality and efficacy of oncology practice in the MENA region. A Breast Cancer Regional Guidelines Committee was organized and activated, comprising experts from various regional cancer institutions. The multidisciplinary team included 12 medical oncologists, 3 radiation oncologists, 2 radiologists, 2 surgeons, and 1 pathologist. The committee members agreed on adapting the current NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines) on Breast Cancer for use in the MENA region to achieve common practice standards for treating patients. The members suggested several modifications to the guidelines, especially those related to risk factor profiles. United States-based NCCN experts reviewed these recommendations before final approval. The MENA-NCCN Breast Cancer Guidelines modification process was the first initiative in the development of common practice guidelines in the region. This project may serve as a foundation for the development of evidence-based practice standards, and improve collaborative projects and initiatives.
