Purpose The purpose of this paper is to understand the innovative scenario in Portugal, assess the patterns of goods and service change in the past decade and evaluate several essential characteristics from innovation and its relevant aspects. Design/methodology/approach This research is a case study with secondary data obtained from the Community Innovation Survey (CIS) in which it is applied to the constant comparative method of data analysis proposed by Spiggle (1994). Findings The innovation of products and services in Portugal increased over the entire period analyzed although not linear, the financing programs contributed to the recovery and growth of innovation and small companies presented the most significant increase in product innovation. Research limitations/implications This investigation has limitations related to the data collected because the secondary data analyzed generalize the indicators and make it impossible to comprehend each aspect analyzed in this study in detail. This study also pointed out that Portuguese small- and medium-sized enterprises are more easily able to innovate in times of difficulty when compared to large companies. However, it is necessary to understand this phenomenon and present elements that can support or refute this discovery. Practical implications This paper offers a broad view of product and service innovation in Portugal for companies, entrepreneurs, universities and researchers, in addition to facilitating the creation and structuring of policies, research and financing that can develop innovation processes. Social implications By presenting a macro view of product and service innovation, this paper may facilitate the creation of incentives for innovation in Portugal and, consequently, to improve economic and development indicators. Originality/value This paper is unique in showing the patterns of innovation in the product and service in Portugal over almost a decade and in demonstrating important indicators that can be used in future research.

Due to the growing field of management innovation, there is a need to synthesise and reflect on the existing literature, inventory the work done and identify new courses and challenges. To reconcile prior research, scientific publications, intellectual structure and trends related to the research on management innovation were mapped; namely the research lines, their interrelation, evolution, and their fundamental contributions. To provide an overview, was conducted a systematic literature review, based on 206 articles, with bibliometric methods. The intellectual structure on the research on management innovation is divided into theoretical fundamentals, domain formation, and the emerging field. The evolution and the future research directions of the management innovation field in focus areas and key developments were also described. This study contributes to the management innovation research in three ways. First, to the understanding of the intellectual structure of the research field. Second, in an emerging topic, such as the management innovation, which is influenced by the work of authors from various disciplines, it is essential to periodically review its course’s evolution. Third, the analysis of documents’ co-citation patterns demonstrates the construction of this field in a specific period.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the effects of R&D investment as a determinant of ongoing or abandoned innovation activities. The literature review focuses especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that deploy R&D investment as a way of developing innovation processes. Design/methodology/approach This study’s design used a sample of 4,229 Portuguese SMEs to analyse the effects R&D investment has on the innovation activities; the results obtained demonstrate the great importance of firms investing in R&D internal activities for the development of their innovation process. Findings The most important findings highlight the types of activities that emerge as relevant to innovation processes susceptible for development to avoid abandoning and maintaining ongoing innovation activities. Among them, the authors would highlight the design of products or services, the introduction of innovations to the market and the acquisition of machinery, equipment and specific software, among others. Originality/value In addition, other types of activities emerge as relevant to innovation processes susceptible for development to avoid abandoning and maintaining ongoing innovation activities. This research adds value to the current literature mainly showing several determinants related to R&D, which could be used by SMEs to improve and develop their activities of innovation.

This study focuses on municipal management through information and communication technology in Smart City modeling. It presents a model for management of a Smart City with information technology resources to demonstrate the process of structuring integrated systems, analyze the benefits that this will bring by modeling local government activities, and introduce innovative measures for local government restructuring. It applies the simulated case study method and related procedures in a qualitative research approach, based on creativity and innovation. It reports the process of structuring integrated systems and analyses the benefits of a model of a Smart City. The Smart City will make the living conditions of the population much more pleasant and will reduce budgetary costs by deploying smart services. Eco-innovation, as set out in the Oslo Manual, extends to public businesses and is confirmed by the organizational innovation of civic processes. The solution in todayrsquo;s conditions is to manage cities using information technology and communication, where millions of citizens may enjoy the maximum benefit of a project of this kind. This study providing a framework for a smart city about its technology, innovation, and public affairs.

Management strategies have been guided by the organization of entities in response to environmental variables and share the same conditions as the business process in which they exist. Special attention should be given to green marketing as a strategic alternative in achieving organizational sustainability. This research was based on the Contingency Theory, and finds that organizational variables are interrelated in a complex way with external environmental conditions, maintain interchange with them. The research entailed meeting three specific objectives: (1) identifying the environmental variables that influence the decision in Green Marketing; (2) evaluating the perception by social actors of environmental variables; and (3) analyzing the trend in performance by means of the Green Marketing tool. The methodology used was to simulate a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory case study, applying several procedures, with the support of a focus group, so as to produce constructs that would support objective deductions. The variables, competitors, economic, legal and regulatory, socio-environmental and technological variables involved in the marketing mix were identified. The perception of the social actors about the variables was evaluated, reinforcing their importance in the strategic decision making process. Analyzing the applicability of green marketing is a management strategy that confers competitive advantage to achieve organizational sustainability. This study helps those interested in business strategy, since its elements make it possible to construct a tool that can be used by modern organizations with an environmental commitment. It is hoped that this will be a collaborative product to offer to managers concerned with organizational sustainability.

Resumo: Este trabalho aborda sobre a potabilidade da água consumida por uma municipalidade situada na Amazônia Brasileira. Procurou-se conhecer a satisfação da população local sob a ótica das Teorias Institucional e do Ecodesenvolvimento, a partir do Método do Estudo de Caso, de natureza quali-quantitativa e descritiva. O Objetivo geral é estudar a relação socioambiental com foco na qualidade da água ofertada à população; e tem como objetivos específicos levantar informações de natureza socioambiental relacionadas à água ofertada à população, interpretar os principais parâmetros de aceitabilidade relacionados à qualidade da água, e analisar a satisfação percebida do usuário em face da qualidade dos serviços de abastecimento. Como resultado indica-se que a maioria dos respondentes da consulta se declaraparcialmente satisfeita com a qualidade da água,revelando a preferência pelo consumo de água mineral comercializada, que consideram mais benéfica à sua saúde do que a água encanada que ofertam pelo sistema de distribuição. Levantamento documental aponta que a água fornecida à população não atende aos principais parâmetros de potabilidade, mas a falta de conhecimento e de cidadania dos residentes impedem os indivíduos de interpretar a realidade dos fatos. Este trabalho interessa a gestores socioambientais, administradores, políticos e demais estudiosos em temáticas afins. Abstract: This work deals with the potability of water consumed by a municipality located in the Brazilian Amazon. It was sought to know the satisfaction of the local population from the perspective of Institutional Theories and Ecodevelopment, based on the Method of the Case Study, qualitative and descriptive. The general objective is to study the socio-environmental relationship with a focus on the water quality offered to the population; as specific objectives to collect socio-environmental information related to the water offered to the population, to interpret the main acceptability parameters related to water quality, and to analyze the user's perceived satisfaction with the quality of the supply services. Thus, it is indicated that most the respondents of the consultation declare themselves partially satisfied with the quality of the water, revealing the preference for the consumption of commercialized mineral water, which they consider to be more beneficial to their health than the running water offered by the distribution system. Documentary survey indicates that the water provided to the population does not meet the main parameters of potability, but the lack of knowledge and citizenship of the residents prevent individuals from interpreting the reality of the facts. The aim of this paper is to better understand whether cooperation, absorptive capacity and public financial support for innovation activities, how they influence the innovative performance of Portuguese enterprise. The literature review focuses the importance of these three factors both drivers as the limiters process of business innovation, influencing the innovative performance of enterprise. Based on a review of the literature, hypotheses are formulated, which are tested with secondary data resources from the Community Innovation Survey 2010. This questionnaire was implemented under the supervision of EUROSTAT. The method used is the logistic regression model. The results obtained confirm that the implementation of cooperation with partners belonging to internal sources of business has a significant influence on the innovations achieved at the level of both products and processes. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Este trabalho trata sobre a inovação com foco na estratégica competitiva para a produção de peixes em cativeiro na Amazônica. O pressuposto está no eixo da análise sistêmica de contingências visando à redução de custos operacionais e ganho de competitividade. Tem base na Teoria Contingencial segundo a perspectiva de Joan Woodward. A problematização é: como se caracteriza a inovação com sustentabilidade para a excelência competitiva da piscicultura Amazônica? Empregou-se Método de Estudo de Caso, com abordagem quali-quantitativa; envolveu consulta a especialistas e grupo focal. Como resultado concluiu-se que a inovação caracterizase pelo rompimento da tradição que perpetua práticas improdutivas ou de alto impacto. Recomenda-se que esses idealizadores sejam internalizados nas políticas dos órgãos de fomento. Este estudo servirá para reflexão entre os interessados na elaboração de políticas públicas para o desenvolvimento local integrado e gestores que pretendem formular estratégias competitivas na piscicultura sustentável.

This paper presents, as its overall objective, an analysis of the epistemological nature of isomorphism in the generation of innovation. To obtain the results in this study, the specific aims are as follows: (1) to raise the theoretical-conceptual basis of isomorphism in the innovation process, with regard to design; (2) to characterize the concepts inherent in the relationship of the innovation process to organizational isomorphism; and (3) to analyze the impact of isomorphism from the perspective of institutional theory. The content analysis method was used for this research, with the support of procedures for design planning. It was preceded by Internet research, bibliographical research in published books and articles, discussion, reflection, preparatory analysis and valid criticism. The results suggest that isomorphism is a common procedure for managers in organizations which seek to copy the structures or actions to obtain greater visibility and competitiveness in a specific organizational field. However, innovation is a prominent feature by which to create distinctiveness in a competitive market; it is an excellent way of changing the organizational process. Regarding the paper’s theoretical contribution, it exposes the conceptual proposals of several selected authors, focusing on creative modeling for new solutions through design planning; diagrams, charts, and other suitable elements are included. Given the relevance and coverage of its theme, it is aimed at researchers and others who study innovation.

The empiric literature regarding on technological innovation suggests that cooperation has a highly positive effect on the performance of firms’ technological innovation, however, very little is known about its impact on the organizational innovation. To fill this gap, the present study aims to analyze the impact of the external relationships with business and science partners about the capacity of firms to introduce organizational innovation. To reach the objective proposed, a quantitative investigation was chosen, based on a sample of 684 firms. Data were obtained through the inquiry CIS 2010 – Community Innovation Survey 2010. There came evident the external relationships established with business partners and with science partners on the performance of organizational innovation of the firms. This study contributes for the development of the existent theory when analyzing the external relationships of firms and the innovating development on the organizational level, considering that the investigation that has been carried out about innovation has been focused, in general, on the technological innovation.

The aim of this study is the analysis of the effect that the entrepreneurship activities have in the development of an entrepreneurial profile of the students of a secondary level and their future entrepreneurial intentions. To empirically test the formulated hypothesis, a questionnaire was developed. By the application of methods of factorial analysis and a logistic regression model, it was concluded that variables like the incentive given by school agents, the participation of students in extracurricular activities and the desire to continue studying, influenced the entrepreneurial intentions of the students. Concerning the entrepreneurial profile, it was concluded that the students who have higher capacity of creation and concretization of entrepreneurial projects and a winning will, have a higher propensity to create their own business. This research analysed the impact of entrepreneurship activities on the development of the secondary school students' entrepreneurial profile, and understand whether these same activities influence their future intentions.

The fashion industry is experiencing a new dynamic as many professionals have decided to take the risk to create fashion-related businesses. As universities and private schools provide fashion courses, many paths can be taken by graduates in this vast and challenging industry, including careers as fashion design entrepreneurs. However, the lack of information regarding networking and business-creation can be a hard wall to come across, as fashion designers are not prepared in that sense by higher-education courses. Fashion education is still very focused on hard skills, forgetting to teach students to be pro-active and forward-thinkers; yet a new generation of fashion designers has transformed past experiences and professional vision to become entrepreneurs. This chapter provides results obtained through interviews of these fashion entrepreneurs in Portugal, as well as other countries around the globe. This work observes this ever-changing industry and suggests the rise of a new entrepreneurial reality in fashion design, as well as the multi-disciplinary people who are changing it.

This chapter aims to identify and analyze the main strategies for the qualification of inbound tourism and hospitality. This study is supported by the theory of planned behavior and concepts of inbound tourism, hospitality, creativity, and innovation. The study uses method of case study, as methodological procedures workshops were held with stakeholders of Rondônia tourism trading; there were collection of data, participant observation, and an analysis of documents, allowing critique about the causal relationship. The SWOT matrix was applied in the production of the survey report. As a result, there has been a recognition of the tourism potential in the scenario and the necessity for strategic planning of the attributes; valid elements for social innovation by qualifying strategies for inbound tourism and hospitality are indicated. The originality is on proposing strategies that empower the marginalized and socially excluded population, promoted the touristic resources, indicate management alternatives to qualify the inbound and hospitality, and contribute to the regional development.

The concept of management innovation, the characteristics of the services, as well as the multiple ways in which innovation can occur in services make it difficult to measure the result of the influence of management innovation on performance. Based on the rational and institutional perspectives relevant in the study of the effects of management innovation, the objective of this chapter is to analyze how the introduction of this type of innovation determines the performance of service firms. Thorough analysis of the literature suggests that the innovative challenge of service firms focuses not only on technological innovation but also on management innovation focused on economic and/or social potential. The characteristics of management innovation as well as the ability of service firms to integrate different types of innovation enable them to achieve distinct competencies and high sustainable performance in the form of economic and social gains.

In fragile environments, such as the Western Amazon, there is a latent concern related to solid waste, deserving emphasis from the conceptual point of view, where the origin of sustainability becomes the emergency that forces the behavior through recycling seeking the reduction and absence of residues. Epistemology has as its function, among others, to define what provides conditions for examining relations between facts and theories. The question is, What does conceptual aspect contribute to awareness and improvement to the relation of capital, labor, and society? Apply the Theory U as argumentation in this relation. The general and main objective of this chapter is to deal with the epistemological aspect of sustainability against the capital, labor, and society based on the Theory U. As a result, the conceptual aspect contributes to awareness and improvement of the relation of capital, labor, and society considering the discourses treated in fragile environments in the Western Amazon.

The aim of this work is to show the relevance of guarantees provided by the Mutual Credit Guarantee System (MCGS—the Portuguese Society of Credit Guarantee (SPGM)) as an instrument used in the financing of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), especially in restructuring Long-Term Debt (LTD) and bank loans. The study provides empirical evidence and puts forward an explanatory model of the influence of the mutual credit guarantees on the financing of SMEs. Using data obtained from the MCGS, for the CAE (economic activity) 412 (construction of buildings, which is the sector with the greatest number of companies seeking this type of financing) and the SABI database (system for analysis of Iberian financial statements), a multiple regression model was made, studying the impact that mutual guarantees have in the financial structure of the SMEs. The results obtained show that LTD financing is positively influenced by the guarantees provided by the MCGS to SMEs as it allows greater debt capacity, especially in the medium and long term, for firms that usually cannot obtain this type of financing. The results also suggest that this type of guarantees creates an environment of confidence among all stakeholders involved, showing that both in terms of overall capital structure and in terms of merely financial credit, the response from the explanatory variables in the models was consistent with the beginning expectations, that the financial gap has been reduced with the contribution of mutual guarantees in the financing process. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Cooperation for innovation is understood as an essential element in the innovation process of European firms. The aim is to compare how the different sources of information (external and internal) and cooperation for innovation are used in manufacturing and services in Europe using Community Innovation Survey (CIS) data for 15 European countries. The empirical study uses a sample of firms included in the CIS (2008), which covers 15 European countries and applies multivarious data analysis techniques to extract results. The results of this research suggest that firms usesimultaneously different sources of information for cooperation, revealing different patterns of cooperation according to the activity sector in Europe. This paper brings some important insights about cooperation for innovation and suggests some patterns in Europe useful to design public policies, due de similar behavior of some countries grouped according with geography, development status or other economic features. This study's main objective is to study the complexity of technological management of the collection of solid waste, through the prism of reverse logistics; and to propose certain specific objectives: (1) to describe the form of concentration of solid waste in the group studied; (2) to analyze the impact of the volume of solid waste; and (3) to propose intervention measures for solid waste management. It asks what technology management model should guide the selective collection of solid waste in the Amazon. Based on the theory of convergence, it studies the strategy of competitive advantage in understanding the organizational system in the environment in which it operates; on this theory, Nobre (2011) addresses knowledge as a source that transmits competitive edge in order to contribute to a company's organizational system. The research is qualitative and descriptive; it applies the Case Study method, and related procedures. As a study, it confirms that the investigated collector cooperatives are vulnerable, which influences the conclusions of this study. It finds that the collectors employed by these organizations are the significant environmental agents in the process of reusing and recycling materials and thus play a key role in reverse logistics because they can return the waste to the production chain adding value and promoting shared management,. The results also point to the absence of a system to promote environmental education, despite the potential viability of the materials and regardless of the possible economic and social improvements to the Amazonians and their families. The system proposed here involves the selective collection of solid waste by intelligent machines, applying reverse logistics. This study could benefit business people, the government and other stakeholders in public policy and sustainability in fragile environments such as the Brazilian Amazon.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to better understand whether firm cooperation and absorptive capacity foster success in seeking public financial support for innovation activities and, by doing so, how they contribute to innovation output.Design/methodology/approachThe authors therefore extend the existing literature focusing on the effects of cooperation and absorptive capacity on specific public financial support for innovation activities in Portuguese firms from local or regional government, central administration and the European Union by using available data from the Community Innovation Survey CIS 2010 and the application of logistic regression models. The empirical analysis enabled a better understanding of the positive relationship of the variables that determine the form of public financial support in the integration of incentives within firms to stimulate innovation.FindingsTherefore, as the level of absorptive capacity in Portuguese firms increases, so does the demand for benefits from public financial support to stimulate innovation from the European Union also increases. The same analysis, now considering the determinant cooperation, notes the positive effects of institutional sources of information and cooperation, in the propensity for seeking public financial incentives from the Central Administration and the European Union. As for internal information and cooperation sources, they are positively related to the integration of incentive measures from the local or Regional Administration and Central Administration.Originality/valueThe paper presents results that allow us to propose some suggestions that both the firms and those responsible for the implementation of public policies can undertake to increment innovation performance.

This paper aims to identify and analyze the main limiting factors of innovation performance in terms of product and process innovation. The limiting factors to innovation make the innovation process of a firm difficult, which influences its innovation performance. The goal of this essay is to develop a theoretical support based on current reference approaches, corroborated by empirical support, which allows for the identification and analysis of the factors that restrict innovation activity and innovation performance. The database is extracted from the Community Innovation Survey - CIS 2010, which was conducted under the responsibility of the Office of Planning, Strategy, Evaluation and International Relations/Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education (GPEARI/MCTES), in collaboration with the National Statistics Institute (INE), under the supervision of EUROSTAT. We have developed a logistic regression model that highlights the barriers to innovation and identifies the factors that limit innovation performance.The analysis suggests that several barriers to innovation influence the Innovative performance of Portuguese firms. These results may be attributed to the fact that perceived barriers stimulate the firm to overcome these difficulties, which promotes the internal propensity to innovate. The most significant barriers identified in the study are the following: high innovation costs and perceived uncertainties in both the demand and market for new goods and services. This study shows that firms that do not have either qualified personnel to carry out innovation activities or sufficient market information are less likely to innovate than firms that do not experience these difficulties. info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

Purpose This paper aims to analyses barriers as a determinant of ongoing or abandoned innovation activities. The literature exploits barriers as the nature of innovation and its influence on firm’s. The main focus is the Portuguese SMEs and the impacts that act as barriers in the development of innovation activities. Design/methodology/approach The database was obtained through the Community Innovation Survey 2010 (CIS 2010) that was coordinated by EUROSTAT. In this sense, a logistic regression model is proposed, which makes it possible to analyse the relations between three or more variables, depending on whether the relationship is one of dependence or interdependence, thus allowing the application of distinct statistical techniques, using 6,160 firms Findings There are several sources of information that are associated with the development of innovation projects. Practical implications The importance of barriers to the development of innovation activities, as well as it being a decisive factor in the impediment to and abandon of the same, was noted. Originality/value This study also demonstrated that each case is different and that a barrier in one firm can at the same time be a window of opportunity for another firm.

This paper focuses on identifying how entrepreneurial intent is produced among college students and what is the impact of educational methodologies on this process. In parallel, the research seeks to understand if demographic variables have an impact on entrepreneurial intent. To achieve the proposed objectives, a questionnaire was made based on the approach presented by Ajzen (1985) in the theory of planned behaviour (TPB). Data were obtained from 204 university students from Brazilian universities through electronic questionnaires, applied descriptive statistics techniques, factor analysis and multiple correlation. The results showed that the entrepreneurial intentions of higher education students do not change significantly over the years, are little influenced by age and are more urgent in men than in women. Entrepreneurial intentions are most strongly influenced by pressure from social groups (subjective norms) and achieve better responses in universities that use active pedagogical practices.

In recent years companies have been severely affected by economic crises. Surviving and achieving some performance has become the main concern of managers. The literature points to innovation as a driver capable of generating competitive advantage for companies. However, understanding how companies perceive contingencies and manage to anticipate in order to overcome obstacles has become the main concern of this work. To answer this question, a research was undertaken in companies located in one of the poorest regions of Brazil. The data collected were treated by means of factorial analysis. The obtained results show that the changes caused in the external environment are perceived through the company's network contacts. With the support of top management, employees develop innovative situations capable of generating the competitive advantage necessary for strategic success.

Ao longo dos últimos anos, as exigências com que o professor se tem deparado no exercício da sua profissão têm sido cada vez maiores. Os contextos educacionais são extremamente complexos e muito diferentes uns dos outros. O professor tem que desenvolver competências que lhe permitam responder de forma autónoma e criativa a tudo o que lhe é exigido. A formação inicial é um momento fulcral para o desenvolvimento dessas competências, mas não o único. É o início de um processo de preparação e desenvolvimento que deve ser continuado ao longo da vida profissional. A formação inicial de professores de Português promovida pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa passou, nos últimos vinte e sete anos, por três modelos que se diferenciam, sobretudo, na importância atribuída à prática pedagógica. Este facto tem tido repercussões nas dificuldades reveladas pelos jovens professores no momento em que iniciam a sua carreira. Esta dissertação foi os resultados de uma investigação de natureza descritiva que teve como objetivo investigar a relação que existe entre esses três modelos de formação inicial e as necessidades concretas dos professores em início de carreira, com base nos quais se fazem recomendações de formação contínua para colmatar as lacunas verificadas ao testemunho dos sujeitos de investigação., Oriendadora : Ana Paula Silva

Nos últimos anos o conceito de inovação alterou-se consideravelmente. Várias abordagens teóricas sustentam que as empresas não inovam isoladas e que a inovação surge como um processo complexo evolucionário e interactivo de aprendizagem, realizado com a contribuição de variados agentes económicos e sociais que possuem acesso a diferentes tipos de informações e conhecimentos. Neste trabalho, evidenciam-se os relacionamentos dos relacionamentos externos no estímulo da inovação empresarial, destacando-se os relacionamentos estabelecidos entre a universidade e o tecido empresarial. Dado que este tipo de relacionamentos proporcionam às empresas vantagens indiscutíveis no âmbito da inovação. No obstante, existem problemas neste tipo de relacionamentos, que urge identificar e solucionar. Assim, esta investigação tem por finalidade apresentar os contributos e as vantagens associadas aos relacionamentos estabelecidos entre as universidades e as empresas, bem como, descrever os principais problemas resultantes desses relacionamentos. Por fim, apresentam-se as perspectivas futuras de desenvolvimento da investigação, com recurso a estudos de caso.

O atual contexto económico é caraterizado por contínuas mudanças tecnológicas, incerteza dos mercados e elevada competitividade em praticamente todos os setores de atividade, levando novos desafios para as empresas, que devem desenvolver, produtos novos ou diferentes dos dos seus concorrentes. Neste contexto, a inovação e a cooperação desempenham um papel fundamental na competitividade empresarial. A cooperação inter-organizacional, conduz a um processo de criação e recombinação de conhecimento e inovação, pelo que este processo se torna mais eficiente quando os atores são de áreas distintas e complementares. A presente investigação, tem como objetivo analisar de que forma as fontes de informação e os relacionamentos estabelecidos com os parceiros de negócio, influenciam o desempenho inovador, incluindo-se aqui a inovação organizacional e a inovação do produto. Na primeira parte deste trabalho apresenta-se um quadro conceptual assente em referências atuais, tendo como base um suporte empírico. Foram formuladas várias hipóteses através do recurso a dados secundários, retirados do Inquérito Comunitário à Inovação 2008 – CIS 2008 (Community Innovation Survey), sendo que os dados recolhidos foram analisados pelo método da regressão logística. Os resultados obtidos evidenciam uma influência positiva das fontes de informação e da cooperação no desempenho inovador das empresas, ao nível do produto e organizacional, concluindo-se que a cooperação é um fator relevante para o desempenho inovador de uma empresa.
