Furniture plays an important role in healthcare setting. It creates a welcoming atmosphere to the patients and families as they enter the building. Furniture influences the feelings of the patients and visitors both negatively and positively, therefore attention on high quality with good furnishing design is needed. A cross sectional descriptive study design conducted in Outpatient departments (OPDs) and Inpatient department (IPDs) in a tertiary care hospital, Bangalore. Using checklist and questionnaire- based survey which includes 110 OPD patients and 70 IPD patients. The data was analysed using descriptive statistics. After obtaining the result, it was identified that majority of the respondents of both OPD and IPD patients showed that aesthetic, ergonomics and cleanability features are required and expected to incorporate in these areas. The study concluded that high quality design is needed to consider while selecting hospital furniture to maximize the quality of facilities in the organization.

Patient safety, which is both an overarching principle and a key factor in determining the quality of healthcare, continues to be a priority in healthcare systems on a global scale. A cross-sectional study in accredited Indian hospitals aimed to evaluate the HSOPSC V-2 (Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture). 1,603 healthcare professionals participated, assessing psychometric features using confirmatory factor analysis in SMART PLS 4. The average composite positive response rate was 64.8%. High positive responses (79%) were seen in 'teamwork', 'communication about error', and 'hospital management support for patient safety'. However, 'staffing and work pace' (30%), 'response to error' (50%), 'communication openness', and 'reporting patient safety events' (both 59%) had lower positive responses, indicating room for improvement. Findings suggest I-HOSPSC 2.0's content validity, reliability, and construct validity in measuring patient safety culture in Indian hospitals. It can aid administrators in assessing safety culture and improving patient safety and treatment efficacy. Notably, this is the inaugural HSOPSC V-2 validation research in the Indian healthcare context. Future research should explore the tool's psychometric properties based on care setting levels due to substantial differences between public and private healthcare setups in India. End stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant health problem worldwide. Nearly 220000 patients are diagnosed with end stage renal disease every year, which calls for an additional demand of 34 million dialysis sessions in India. There is a rapid increase in the ESRD population worldwide. Furthermore approximate 70% of those who starts dialysis in India given up dialysis due financial constraints or death. Considering the need of the Satellite haemodialysis unit (SHD) for ESRD patients, ‘A studyto develop a costing model for SHD unit” was undertaken. A prospective study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital.The aim of the research was to analyse the need of SHD unit among dialysis patients and to suggest costing model for the tertiary care hospital. The methodology involved survey to address the patients need and perception towards SHD unit, direct observation, informal interview, bottom –up approach of costing method to identify the various cost involved in SHD unit and expert opinions. A total sample size of 120 ESRD patients in in - centre dialysis unit was selected for the study. As per the survey 30 patients need satellite haemodialysis unit. The study provides a cost analysis of 5 bedded SHD unit in the chosen tertiary care hospital. Anaesthesia services was gradually skyed high mainly because of patient population, with the increasing patient population, severe financial burden associate with care accelerate throughout the universe. At present, hospitals will provide many services under single shelf. Large service organization will consider the high number of personnel which comprises of capital intensive nature of business. Various complexities will be necessitating for hospital management which will include robust costing system. This paper investigates and compares the how much cost incurred for twelve combinations of sevenanaesthetic agents in intra operative services at Tertiary care Hospital. So the study consider and compare the twelvecombinations of sevenanaesthesticdrugs (Propofol, Thiopentone, Isoflurane, Sevoflurane, Vecuronium, Atracurium, Cis-atracurium) which Anaesthesiologists usually prefer, From the study we found that hospital can save the 91.2% of Propofol yearly expenditure by replace with Thiopentone as an induction agent. At same consumption rate hospital can exclude the 77% of yearly expenditure of Sevoflurane with replacing the Isoflurane for intra-operative maintenance. Hospital can cut down the 63% of cis-atracurium yearly expenditure by replacing the relaxant Vecuronium. The study concluded that Thiopentone, plus Vecuronium plus Isoflurane highly preferred combination by Anaesthesiologists among all eleven combinations. This was mainly due to the fact that these combinations costs were very lower compared to other drugs and these combinations influenced the patients to recover from the surgery at very fast which in turn decrement the discharge time availed by the patients which sky-high hospitals to take care more number of patients at hospitals. Hence the hospitals can maintain efficiency at intra operative services, and the cost of drugs included in total surgery cost of patients. In addition to the overhead information assist the top management while making a strategic plan and decision-making activities while preferring drugs. In recent times, there has been increasing emphasis on the employee engagement and its significant role in the performance and productivity of employees and the organization outcomes. This becomes especially important in the healthcare sector since increased employee engagement may translate to improvement in quality of patient care and employee retention, among other hospital outcomes. The studies have found engagement level of nurses to be the number one variable correlating to mortality, even beating out the number of nurses per patient day and also shown a strong correlation between engagement and reducing staff turnover and absenteeism. This study focuses on measuring the engagement and retention levels among the nursing staff of tertiary care hospital and their association and develop a workplace model based on the findings. A cross sectional survey was conducted at the hospital over a six month period with sample size of 250, using standard NRC Picker Employee Experience Survey Questionnaire. Engagement scores were categorized into low, medium and high categories. Correlation analysis was done to identify the association between engagement and retention levels and the relative importance of various factors to the retention and engagement levels. The mean engagement score at the hospital was found to be 31.57, which falls in the high level. Also, 95.2% of employees were in high engagement category, 2% in medium engagement group and 2.8% in low engagement group. There was a significant positive correlation found between the engagement and retention level, which was further corroborated independently by the retention data for last 6 years. This study gauged quantitatively the engagement levels among the hospital nursing staff, and provided a means to determine association between the various factors and engagement as well as retention.
