The objective of the present work is to analyze, in the light of a systematic review, the benefits of the operation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in the field of civil construction in studies published in SPELL between 2014 and 2022. The results obtained indicate the benefits of adhering to a SGA, since there is a reduction in production costs, these resulting from the reuse of material in addition to saving time, without affecting the profits of the construction companies as well as the maintenance of the quality of the service. That said, it is demonstrated that this management method must be increasingly implemented and encouraged within the field of civil construction, aiming at improvements in performance, both operational and environmental. El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar, a la luz de una revisión sistemática, los beneficios del funcionamiento del Sistema de Gestión Ambiental (SGA) en el ámbito de la construcción civil en estudios publicados en SPELL entre 2014 y 2022. Los resultados obtenidos señalan los beneficios de adherirse a un SGA, ya que hay una reducción en los costos de producción, estos derivados de la reutilización de material además del ahorro de tiempo, sin afectar las utilidades de las empresas constructoras así como el mantenimiento de la calidad de los Servicio. Dicho esto, se demuestra que este método de gestión debe ser cada vez más implementado y fomentado en el campo de la construcción civil, con el objetivo de mejorar el desempeño, tanto operativo como ambiental. O objetivo do presente trabalho é analisar à luz de uma revisão sistemática os benefícios do funcionamento do Sistema de Gestão Ambiental (SGA) no ramo da construção civil em estudos publicados na SPELL entre 2014 a 2022. Os resultados obtidos apontam os benefícios da aderência de um SGA, uma vez que há a diminuição de custos de produção, esses decorrentes da reutilização de material além da economia de tempo, sem afetar os lucros das construtoras bem como a manutenção da qualidade do serviço. Isto posto, demonstra-se que esse método de gestão deve ser cada vez mais implementado e incentivado dentro do ramo da construção civil, visando melhorias no desempenho, tanto operacional como ambiental.

Introduction. In the article analysis of the scientific literature was performed, which allowed us to determine that transport safety has a significant impact on the economic potential of the country, stimulates the development of interconnected industries. A significant amount of scientific literature is devoted to the problems of transport development and transport technologies, but little attention is paid to the study of transport safety projects. In order to achieve sustainable development, improve living standards and welfare and safe use of transport, Ukraine has taken the vector of European development. This paper reviews the implementation of security projects and programs for sustainable transport development. It was determined that the production value of transport is determined by the objective need to move goods from the place of production to places of consumption. The main task of transport is timely, high-quality and full provision of needs of the population in qualitative and safe transportations. Purpose. This article reveals the results of the analysis of the safety projects implementation in motor transport enterprises for sustainable transport development. Results. It was investigated that in Ukraine there is a fairly high risk of traffic accidents involving motor vehicles through the fault of drivers. It was determined that one of the main factors influencing the occurrence of traffic accidents remains the human factor. It has been established that most dangerous mistakes are made by drivers due to the inability to react in a timely and correct manner to unexpected changes in the traffic situation. Conclusions. For the formation and implementation of state policy on safety in public road transport, it is necessary to systematically implement safety projects in the activities of motor transport enterprises. In this article we propose the implementation of European standards of safety management system and as their constituent standards ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18001 in the activities of motor transport enterprises.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) adalah salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan untuk mengevaluasi sistem pengelolaan sampah berdasarkan nilai potensi dampak yang dihasilkan. Bank Sampah Asoka Berseri di Kabupaten Tuban merupakan salah satu contoh unit pengolah sampah yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi potensi dampak dari timbulan sampah secara kualitas maupun kuantitas di wilayah pedesaan. Tujuan studi ini adalah menghitung dan mengevaluasi potensi dampak lingkungan yang dihasilkan dari program bank sampah, kemudian dibandingkan dengan penanganan sampah konvensional yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan berdasarkan CML Baseline v4.4 dan 14000 standar ISO, meliputi goal and scope, life cycle inventory (LCI), life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) dan interpretasi. Simulasi LCA dilakukan dengan Software OpenLCA untuk menghitung nilai potensi dampak dari setiap kilogram sampah yang dihasilkan. Berdasarkan hasil simulasi, setiap 1 kg sampah yang dikelola oleh bank sampah menghasilkan potensi dampak pemanasan global lebih rendah (6,395 kg CO2 eq.) dibandingkan dengan penimbunan (13,057 kg CO2 eq.) dan pembakaran (10,850 kg CO2 eq.). Pengolahan sampah lebih lanjut menjadi RDF dan kompos di bank sampah berpotensi menghasilkan dampak lingkungan lebih rendah dan menambah pendapatan masyarakat.

The article substantiates the relationship between environmental safety and energy efficiency – as the main components on the way to sustainable development of society. The existing approaches to defining the essence of environmental safety are considered, its characteristic features are detailed, the basic practical principles of its provision are substantiated, and promising directions for the further development of the international environmental safety system are shown. The general scheme of the organization of the ecological safety system in the normal state of the environment is presented, which should be based on three components: control, regulation and implementation of safety measures. It is shown that maximum efforts should be directed to making management decisions based on the analysis of existing risks and forecasting new potential threats, which are an integral part of human activity. An important stage in a productive management system is the use of the best available technologies, which does not require strict regulation of activities and provides the freedom to choose ways to achieve this goal, based on the latest technological and technological solutions. organizational developments and their successful combination. Competitive advantages and a number of disadvantages from the introduction of an environmental management system at an enterprise, in particular in the energy sector, have been substantiated. The article presents the main laws of Ukraine in the field of environmental safety, as well as the state standards of Ukraine in the series of international standard ISO 14000. The main stages of management in the field of environmental safety, based on the Shuhard-Deming cycle, are summarized and presented in the model of the environmental safety management standard DSTU ISO 14001:2015.

Porter Hypothesis has evoked almost three-decade debate on whether environmental regulation can stimulate firm innovation. However, one missing component in this long stream of literature is the absence of voluntary environmental regulation when defining environmental regulation policy in the first place. We address this gap by examining the impact of the voluntary environmental certification of ISO 14000 on firm innovation. Adopting firm-level survey data, our results show that ISO 14000 certification leads to more innovation input and output in sampled Chinese firms. Therefore, our study sheds light to the debate on Porter Hypothesis and contributes to green innovation literature.

A study was conducted in the Moses Kotane Municipality (MKM) in the North-West Province of South Africa in order to identify and quantify factors that affect efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste generated by households and businesses. Data was collected from a combination of 171 households and businesses on 24 socioeconomic, sanitary and environmental indicators of efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste in developing municipalities. The specific objectives of study were to assess the current level of efficiency in the collection and disposal of municipal solid waste, and to construct a framework that could be used for improving the current level of efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste. Efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste was assessed by using ISO 14000 and ISO 14031 standards defined by the Canadian Standards Association. The results showed that about 67% of businesses selected for the study were inefficient in municipal solid waste management, whereas about 33% of them were efficient. Efficiency in the management of municipal solid waste was significantly influenced by 3 predictor variables (lack of adherence to municipal bylaws on waste management, inability to enforce municipal bylaws on municipal solid waste management, and wrong perception on the potential benefits of proper waste management.

In this paper is described the problematic of eco-labeling in the modern business conditions and considered the term, development and types of eco-labels with a brief overview of environmental standards with an emphasis on a series of standards ISO 9000 and ISO 14000. Eco-labeling criteria are analyzed as well as the advantages and disadvantages of eco-labeling. The situation in the footwear market and its environmental impact are discussed. The criteria for obtaining the EU Eco-label for footwear are outlined and the results of the environmental impact study of footwear using the model of eco-labeling of footwear are presented. The results showed that in the production of leather, synthetic materials and plastics generate the most negative impacts of footwear on the environment which is why replacing the identified materials or reduction of their use is recommended.

An important component of the image of a modern enterprise is the quality and environmental friendliness of products. International standard ISO 14001:2015 specifies requirements for an environmental management system that an organization can use to improve the environmental performance of its activities. The spread of the application of ISO 14000 standards in Russian enterprises is hampered by a number of problems: improper planning of the development and implementation of the quality management system, low involvement of the company's management and personnel in the development and implementation of the quality management system. The implementation of ISO 14000 standards in livestock organizations is possible if the criteria are met: the land plot is removed from large cities and industrial zones, the livestock of farm animals meets the standards, the size of the land plot meets the standards for keeping farm animals. It is advisable to organize a quality management system department in the organizational structure of the SRO "Association of Peasant (Farm) Farms and Agricultural Cooperatives of the Perm Territory" for comprehensive support and coordination of the activities of agricultural organizations in the region.

This chapter examines the ISO 14000 environmental standard, the basic components of Environmentally Conscious Manufacturing, and gives some examples of how they may be integrated in support of an organization’s environmental policy.

The article discusses theoretical and methodological foundations for the formation of project management structures within the existing organizational management structure, based on quality management standards. Successful development and implementation of projects at enterprises require the application of modern principles and standards for professional activity and management of both projects and the enterprise as a whole. In the absence of a process-based approach to project management, their implementation takes place within the existing organizational structure, which is mostly not sufficiently adapted to the needs of project activity. The purpose of the article is to investigate the importance of global quality management standards for project activity management at an enterprise, as well as methodological approaches to design a project management structure based on these standards on a specific enterprise basis. The initial postulates of formation defined the methodological foundations of the world practice of quality project management (PMP, TQM) and quality standards (ISO 9000, ISO 14000, ISO 22000). Standards regulate the management system for any industry and the specifics of the activity, are general principles that are built on the modern management theory and the best experience of leading companies. Their application is becoming more widespread for Ukrainian enterprises, in particular for PrJSC “Firma “Poltavpyvo”. The key characteristics of these standards and their relationship with the effectiveness of business processes are outlined. Levers and tools of influence of management standards on increase of efficiency of economic activity of the enterprise, its project activity in particular are defined. Formation of a project team for PrJSC “Firma “Poltavpyvo” is proposed, by involving the main contractors from the existing organizational structure of management, in accordance with the requirements of quality management. The new structure envisages expert posts to be served by the Deputy Director-General for Technical Development and General Affairs, as well as the Head of Beer and Non-Alcoholic Beverages. They will carry out specialized tasks on their subject matter and will advise the project manager on their competence. The activities also include the creation of centers of responsibility, which will ultimately allow the company to provide significantly higher quality project management.

An analysis of international publications revealed a growing interest in all aspects of quality in medical care, especially in the definition of the concept of quality in healthcare. In the world community, the following approaches to quality management are widely used: the Total Quality Control (TQC); Total Quality Management (TQM), which includes Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement; Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI); Lean management, including Hoshin Kanri's policy and PDCA's Deming - Shuhart Cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act). Practical implementation of the principles of General Quality Management (TQM) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) is based on the models of business improvement in quality management: the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) model, the MBQA (Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award) model and the Chronic Care Model. In management ofmedical organizations, the International standards for services perfection are more often used, which use the experience of quality assurance, as well as the international systems and standards: JCI, ISO 9001, IWA1, ISO 15189, ISO 14000, OHSAS 18001. The ISO interstate standards represent the international consensus of world practice in quality management. Nowadays, medical organizations use the following standards: SRPS ISO 9001: 2015, SRPS EN 15224: 2017, SRPS EN ISO 15189: 2014, SRPS EN ISO 13485: 2017, IWA 1: 2005. In the period of globalization of the world economy and healthcare, the best international practices should form the basis for improving domestic health care in medical care quality management.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the current value chain activities grounded on Porter’s value chain theory and to examine the drivers of strategic environmentalism that influence sustainable value chain adoption. This study further constructs a prescriptive model to reveal the extent to which information communication technology (ICT)-based industries are adopting sustainable value chain practices. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected using questionnaire from selected ISO 14000/14001-certified ICT-based firms in Malaysia and analyzed using partial least square-structural equation modeling. Findings Results reveal that the primary activities positively influence sustainable value chain. Moreover, results indicate that support activities significantly influence sustainable value chain adoption in ICT-based firms. Results further show that strategic environmentalism drivers have an impact on sustainable value chain adoption. Research limitations/implications Data were collected from ICT-based industries in Malaysia only. Additionally, this research extends the body of knowledge and offers theoretical implications for ICT-based industries in Malaysia and other emerging economies in adopting sustainable value chain activities. Practical implications Practically, this study assists ICT-based industries to change their current paradigm from the traditional operations to a more holistic approach toward supporting practitioners to simultaneously achieve social responsibility, environmental and economic growth. Social implications This study offers social implications for ICT-based industries to implement cleaner operations by decreasing CO2 emission, lessening energy usage, diminishing cost incurred and minimizing usage of natural resources, thereby increasing product recovery and recycle-ability of IT hardware. Originality/value This study is one of the first to address the issue related to sustainable value chain in ICT-based industry by providing a roadmap on how practitioners can implement sustainable initiatives or more significantly, how to infuse these initiatives in their current chain, while concurrently enhancing competitiveness. Furthermore, this paper examines the current activities implemented by practitioners toward sustainable value chain adoption and explores the correlation of the drivers of strategic environmentalism with regard to sustainable value chain.

A healthy, robust and sustainable banking system is the key for achieving inclusive growth in Indian economy. This paper is aimed at determining the status quo of banking sector in India towards adoption of sustainable banking practices. The findings reveal that Indian banking industry has responded relatively slowly to sustainability issues. The public sector banks are more involved in addressing the social dimensions of sustainability through various microfinance schemes, gender-specific loan schemes, community development programme, etc., whereas the private sector banks in India have adopted relatively more comprehensive approach in addressing environmental care dimension like green building, ISO 14000 certification, innovative products and services, etc. They are more active in subscribing to the voluntary international guidelines and framework on sustainable development like UNEP FI, EPs, GRI, CDP, etc. For integrating sustainable banking, the Indian banking industry has to be more proactive in its approach and should adopt at least the established sustainable banking code of conducts.

In recent years, the socio-environmental dimension has become a structural and strategic element of successful companies, where it is usually addressed through the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility. The challenge for business is to draft new paradigms for operational procedures and improve the business conditions towards social and environmental responsibilities. Companies focus on eco-innovations and the production of "green products". Green innovations or technologies can be used by firms of all sizes and organizations have various motives for implementing an environmental friendly strategy or processes. Conversely, consumers tend to move more towards green products, which provide them with a sense that they are protecting the environment. According to the data from the group of International Standards Organization ISO 14000 more organizations from the EU have registered their systems as "eco-friendly" over the last few years. Data in this study was obtained from company-level surveys across EU member states conducted by the World Economic Forum following the thematic research on Global Competitiveness Index. The static panel data regression model was employed to show that there is a strong relationship between innovation and "going green". The results from several models reveal that innovation is significant and positively associated with "going green". Access to green environment increases innovation among competitors to present products that are environmentally friendly. Also, we have found that corporate ethics influence firms to apply environment-friendly business practices.

We apply an antecedents-process-consequences framework in order to analyse systematically the scientific debate in this field. We identify six streams of ISO 14001 research, i.e., drivers, barriers, tools and methods, impact on performances, enabling factors affecting adoption and performances. We then summarize these research streams and highlight conflicting results and unexplored research areas. Finally, we propose a theory based research agenda.
