Rising human population has increased the utilization of available resources for food, clothes, medicine, and living space, thus menacing natural environment and mounting the gap between available resources, and the skills to meet human desires is necessary. Humans are satisfying their desires by depleting available natural resources. Therefore, multifunctional plants can contribute towards the livelihoods of people, to execute their life requirements without degrading natural resources. Thus, research on multipurpose industrial crops should be of high interest among scientists. Hemp, or industrial hemp, is gaining research interest because of its fastest growth and utilization in commercial products including textile, paper, medicine, food, animal feed, paint, biofuel, biodegradable plastic, and construction material. High biomass production and ability to grow under versatile conditions make hemp, a good candidate species for remediation of polluted soils also. Present review highlights the morphology, adaptability, nutritional constituents, textile use, and medicinal significance of industrial hemp. Moreover, its usage in environmental conservation, building material, and biofuel production has also been discussed.

Variable stiffness vibration isolator (VSVI) can be switched between the low stiffness state and high stiffness state, respectively suitable for spacecraft requirement in cutting off the jitter transmitted from the bus to high accuracy payload and for avoiding long term adjustment during the process of attitude maneuver. For the advantage stated, the mechanism of VSVI is investigated for several types, considering the following factors: parallel manipulator with positive and negative stiffness components, structure with nonlinearity stiffness characteristics, smart materials or mechanisms, and maglev configuration. The design objectives of variable mechanisms are summarized into three indexes: adjustment range of stiffness, a lower limit of resonant frequency, and region with quasi-zero stiffness. Experimental studies for related isolators were presented, and the typical configuration or schematic diagram was shown under each index. As for the application of VSVI in spacecraft, research on the two significant problems, i.e. dynamic modeling and non-collocated control problem, is investigated for the design of control law of VSVI’s stiffness. Besides the complete description of spacecraft flexibility, variable stiffness characteristic that leads to a time-varying system and is easily coupled with the maneuvering process is worthy of more attention. Finally, challenges and future research are suggested for improving the performance in spacecraft application.

Verticillium wilt, caused by the soil-borne fungus Verticillium dahliae, is a devastating disease of eggplant (Solanum spp.) and causes substantial losses worldwide. Although some genes or biological processes involved in the interaction between eggplant and V. dahliae have been identified in some studies, the underlying molecular mechanism is not yet clear. Here, we monitored the transcriptomic profiles of the roots of resistant S. sisymbriifolium plants challenged with V. dahliae. Based on the measurements of physiological indexes (T-SOD, POD and SSs), three time points were selected and subsequently divided into two stages (S_12 h vs. S_0 h and S_48 h vs. S_12 h). KEGG enrichment analysis of the DEGs revealed several genes putatively involved in regulating plant-V. dahliae interactions, including mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) genes (MEKK1 and MAP2K1), WRKY genes (WRKY22 and WRKY33) and cytochrome P450 (CYP) genes (CYP73A/C4H, CYP98A/C3′H and CYP84A/F5H). In addition, a subset of genes that play an important role in activating V. dahliae defence responses, including Ve genes as well as genes encoding PR proteins and TFs, were screened and are discussed. These results will help to identify key resistance genes and will contribute to a further understanding of molecular mechanisms of the S. sisymbriifolium resistance response to V. dahliae.

Identification and evaluation of urban center is one of the important contents of urban research and urban planning. Early development planning of Shenzhen focused on SEZ (special economic zones), which led to the polarization of SEZ and non-SEZ in the urban center system. With the help of spatial big data, limitations of traditional data are broken. Based on this, spatial pattern of Shenzhen central structure is analyzed, and then the evolution characteristics of Shenzhen central system are summarized. Using POI data of Shenzhen from 2010 to 2019, we comprehensively consider the influence of functional density and functional diversity on the determination of urban center, and measures the spatial structure of urban center in Shenzhen based on a simple and intuitive method to identify urban center. The research shows that the urban center based on POI data identification can better reflect the actual urban development. The urban center system of Shenzhen is in a growth trend, gathered in SEZ and transitional zone in the middle of Shenzhen and continuously expanding to the north of Shenzhen. The period from 2010 to 2015 is the fastest growing period of the urban center system in Shenzhen. From the perspective of urban macro level, spatial pattern of the urban center structure of Shenzhen shows the overall characteristics of moving from agglomeration in SEZ to balanced development within the whole urban, and the difference in the centrality level between SEZ and non-SEZ gradually decreases. Through the evaluation of existing plans, it is found that the urban planning of Shenzhen has played an important role in reconstructing the urban spatial structure and guiding the formation and development of the urban sub-center system outside the special zone.

The CeO2 ordinary amorphous, nanopolyhedrons, nanorods, and nanocubes were prefabricated by the hydrothermal method, and employed as carriers of Fe/W&ndash, CeO2 catalysts to selectively catalyze the reduction of NO with ammonia. Characterization results indicated that the morphology of CeO2 support originated from selectively exposing different crystal surfaces, which has a significant effect on oxygen vacancies, acid sites and the dispersion of Fe2O3. The CeO2 nanopolyhedrons catalyst (Fe/W&ndash, CeO2&ndash, P) showed most oxygen vacancies, the largest the quantity of acid sites, the largest BET (Brunauer-Emmett-Teller) surface area and the best dispersion of Fe2O3, which was associated with predominately exposing CeO2 (111) planes. Consequently, the Fe/W&ndash, P catalyst has the highest NO conversion rate in the temperature range of 100&ndash, 325 &deg, C among the ordinary amorphous, nanorods, and nanocubes Fe/W&ndash, CeO2 catalysts.

Stand basal area is an important variable for evaluating forest productivity. In this study, four types of growth models were used for modeling the stand basal area of natural oak forests in Hunan Province, China. The results showed that the Schumacher model (Eq. (3) ) performed the best. Because of different canopy layers in natural oak secondary forests, it is important to develop stand basal area models considering canopy stratification. Three widely used canopy stratification methods were used for natural oak forests: the clustering analysis of tree height, classification scheme of the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO) standard, and canopy competition cut-off height (CCH) method. According to the standards set forth in the National Standards of the People’s Republic of China (GB/T 26424-2010), the forests were divided into two layers: upper and lower. Among the three canopy stratification approaches, the IUFRO method was selected as the best. In addition, it should be noted that the sum of the basal area predictions at different layers can generate inconsistent results, as compared to predictions from the total stand basal area model. To solve the additivity of stand basal area predictions, the additive stand basal area growth model was established by nonlinear seemingly unrelated regression (NSUR). Comparing with the whole stand basal area growth model without stratification, the R2 values of basal area growth models with stratification increased by 4.78% (from 0.9277 to 0.9721). In addition, compared with equations estimated separately, the NSUR method increased R2 by 0.82% (from 0.9721 to 0.9801). The results reveal that the NSUR method can be applied to solve the additivity of stand basal area predictions at each layer and can improve model precision, which provides helpful insights into developing stand growth models in natural forests.

The industrial hemp varieties ‘Yunma 5’ and ‘Bamahuoma,’ which demonstrate growth vigor and environmental adaptability, have been primarily cultivated in Yunnan and Guangxi, China, respectively, for fiber and seeds. The results of physiological measurements showed the phenotypic differences between the two varieties in response to salt stress. RNA-Seq analysis was first performed on leaves of both varieties sampled at four time intervals (0, 2, 4, 6 days) after treatment with salt (500 mM NaCl) We identified 220 co-up-regulated differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the two varieties, while 26 up-regulated DEGs and 24 down-regulated DEGs were identified exclusively in the single varieties after 2 days of salt stress. Among the 220 DEGs, we identified 22 transcription factors, including key transcription factors involved in salt stress, such as MYB, NAC, GATA, and HSF. We applied gene expression profile analysis and found that ‘Yunma 5’ and ‘Bamahuoma’ have variety-specific pathways for resisting salt stress. The DEGs of ‘Yunma 5’ were enriched in spliceosome and amino acid metabolism genes, while the DEGs of ‘Bamahuoma’ were enriched in fatty acid metabolism, amino acid metabolism, and endoplasmic reticulum protein processing pathway. Although there were common DEGs, such as genes encoding cysteine protease and alpha/beta-hydrolase superfamily, the two varieties’ responses to salt stress impacted different metabolic pathways. The DEGs that were co-expressed in both varieties under stress may provide useful insights into the tolerance of cultivated hemp and other bast fiber crops to saline soil conditions. These transcriptomes also represent reference sequences for industrial hemp.

With the continuous development of economy and the acceleration of urbanization, the ecological environment of cities becomes more serious. It can be said that economic development has promoted the improvement to people’s living standards but also affected the ecological environment. How to balance the ecological environment and economic development has become a very important issue. This paper expounds the theoretical basis of the sustainable development of urban ecological environment, analyzes the problems of urban ecological environment, and gives some targeted and feasible methods.

The aim of the study was to screen active components of Radix Bupleuri (a traditional Chinese herb) and discover novel anti-schizophrenic candidate drugs using human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. SH-SY5Y cells were used for preparation of the stationary phase in the cell membrane chromatography model. Retention components by the SH-SY5Y/CMC model were collected and then analyzed by GC/MS under the optimized conditions in offline conditions. After investigating the suitability and reliability of the SH-SY5Y/CMC method using amisulpride and haloperidol as standard compounds, this method was applied to screening active components from the extracts of Radix Bupleuri. Retention components of SH-SY5Y/CMC model were saikosaponin A, saikosaponin B1, saikosaponin B2, saikosaponin C and saikosaponin D, which were identified by the GC/MS method. In vitro pharmacological trials-MTT, saikosaponin B1, saikosaponin B2 and saikosaponin C could protect SY5Y cells. Halophilic fungi have evolved unique osmoadaptive strategies, enabling them to thrive in hypersaline habitats. Here, we conduct morphological and transcriptomic response of endophytic fungus (Aspergillus montevidensis ZYD4) in both the presence and absence of salt stress. Under salt stress, the colony morphology of the A. montevidensis ZYD4 changed drastically and exhibited decreased colony pigmentation. Extensive conidiophores development was observed under salt stress; conidiophores rarely developed in the absence of salt stress. Under salt stress, yellow cleistothecium formation was inhibited, while glycerol and compatible sugars continued to accumulate. Among differentially expressed unigenes (DEGs), 733 of them were up-regulated while 1,619 unigenes were down-regulated. We discovered that genes involved in the accumulation of glycerol, the storage of compatible sugars, organic acids, pigment production, and asexual sporulation were differentially regulated under salt stress. These results provide further understanding of the molecular basis of osmoadaptive mechanisms of halophilic endophytic fungi.

In the present study, we identified genes that are putatively involved in the production of fungal 10-hydroxycamptothecin via transcriptome sequencing and characterization of the Xylaria sp. M71 treated with salicylic acid (SA). A total of 60,664,200 raw reads were assembled into 26,044 unigenes. BLAST assigned 8,767 (33.7%) and 10,840 (41.6%) unigenes to 40 Gene Ontology (GO) annotations and 108 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathways, respectively. A total of 3,713 unigenes comprising 1,504 upregulated and 2,209 downregulated unigenes were found to be differentially expressed between SA-induced and control fungi. Based on the camptothecin biosynthesis pathway in plants, 13 functional genes of Xylaria sp. M71 were mapped to the mevalonate (MVA) pathway, suggesting that the fungal 10-hydroxycamptothecin is produced via the MVA pathway. In summary, analysis of the Xylaria sp. M71 transcriptome allowed the identification of unigenes that are putatively involved in 10-hydroxycamptothecin biosynthesis in fungi.

The aim of this study was to evaluate reliability and psychiatric clinical value of quantum resonance spectrometer (QRS) in detection of affective disorders. We studied 1014 patients with schizophrenia and 248 patients with mood disorders (including 93 patients with major depression). Affective disorder symptoms of the same subjects obtained from the QRS test and psychiatrists' diagnoses were compared. In addition, three affective disorder symptoms of renumbered 93 patients with major depression were discriminated using QRS. Kappa values of affective disorder detection and diagnosis were more than 0.69 in all three symptoms of schizophrenia and more than 0.65 in six of seven symptoms of mood disorder. The same consistency could also be seen in receiver operating characteristic curve area under the curve. In the discriminated analysis, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of hypothymia, anxiety, and irritability detected using QRS are more than 0.66 compared with psychiatrists' diagnoses. QRS could be an objective identification and diagnosis instrument and might promote psychiatric clinical diagnosis.

Winter fiber flax has been planted in a large area in Yunnan Province, the southwestern part of China, and other areas of the world, but little is known about the influence of fertilization on the fiber yield and quality. For that, a two-factor experiment in random block designed was carried out by specifying nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) as factor A, boron (B), manganese (Mn), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) and molybdenum (Mo) as factor B each in four levels and their complete combinations. With the increase of N, P and K fertilizers, the yields of long-fiber and total-fiber obviously increased resulting from the increased straw yield, although the portion of retted-stem in straw, contents of longfiber and total-fiber decreased. The fiber tensile strength and flexibility increased as well. The micronutrients application increased the yields of straw, long-fiber and total-fiber, but gave no influence to fiber content and the fiber qualities. Combinations of the macronutrients and micronutrients gave obvious influences to the yields of straw and fiber, contents of long-fiber and total-fiber, fiber fineness and tensile strength, but little influence to the fiber flexibility. The fertilizers formula A2B2, i.e. N-P2O5-K2O 172.8, 28.8 172.8 kg/hm2, Zn-Cu-B-M-Mo 2363, 1654, 236, 2363,165 g/hm2, was the best, yielding most in the straw, long-fiber and total-fiber, with synchronous improvement of the three quality indices.

We compute the $N=2$ R\'enyi entanglement entropy of two intervals at equal time in a circle, for the theory of a 2d compact complex free scalar at finite temperature. This is carried out by performing functional integral on a genus 3 ramified cover of the torus, wherein the quantum part of the integral is captured by the four point function of twist fields on the worldsheet torus, and the classical piece is given by summing over winding modes of the genus 3 surface onto the target space torus. The final result is given in terms of a product of theta function and certain multi-dimensional theta function. We demonstrate the T-duality invariance of the result. We also study its low temperature limit. In the case in which the size of the intervals and of their separation are much smaller than the whole system, our result is in exact agreement with the known result for two intervals on an infinite system at zero temperature \cite{eeoftwo}. Magnesium lithospermate B (MLB), an active polyphenol acid of Danshen [Radix Salviae miltiorrhizae (Labiatae)], shows neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects in vivo and in vitro.We hypothesized that MLB might exert antidepressant-like effects by targeting the neuroinflammatory signals.Sprague-Dawley rats were subjected to the chronic unpredictable stress (CUS) protocol. Rats in the control group received no CUS during the whole experiment. In the model group, rats were exposed to CUS for 7 weeks. From the beginning of the 5th week, model group rats were randomly grouped and subjected to different treatments. In the experiment, control and model group rats were intraperitoneally (i.p.) injected with saline. MLB was dissolved in saline to give a final concentration, and the rats were injected (i.p.) with 15, 30, or 60 mg/kg MLB once a day for 3 weeks.MLB administration significantly reduced: (1) the immobility time in the forced swimming test (19 s, p 0.05); (2) the immobility time in the tail suspension test (76.3 s, p 0.05); (3) the corticosterone (CORT) concentrations in the serum (21.7 nmol/L, p 0.05); (4) the pro-inflammatory cytokine levels in the serum - TNF-α (92.1 pg/ml, p 0.05), IL-1β (86.9 pg/ml, p 0.05), and IL-6 (93.8 pg/ml, p 0.05); (5) pro-inflammatory cytokine levels in tissue - TNF-α (3.2 pg/mg protein, p 0.05), IL-1β (1.5 pg/mg protein, p 0.05), and IL-6 (6.3 pg/mg protein, p 0.05); and (6) phospho-NF-κB (1.6, p 0.05) and phospho-IκB-α (0.4, p 0.05) expression in tissue.The results suggested that MLB might exert therapeutic actions on depression-like behavior and the HPA axis hyperactivity in CUS rats, and the mechanisms underlying the antidepressant-like effects of MLB might be mediated by regulation of the expression of NF-κB and IκB-α in rats.

In this study, a total of 161 endophytic fungal isolates from Camptotheca acuminata were obtained and classified to 16 taxa according to morphological and molecular analysis. These taxa were composed of 2 frequent genera (Botryosphaeria and Fusarium) and 14 infrequent groups such as Xylaria, Diaporthe, Rhizopus, Epicoccum, and Preussia, demonstrating that fungal endophytes in C. acuminata were highly abundant and diverse. Antimicrobial activity screening using filter-paper diffusion method showed that 47.6 % of the tested isolates had antimicrobial activity against at least one of the test microorganisms. Screening of fungal endophyte-derived camptothecin analogues by TLC and LC–MS/MS3 demonstrated that a strain Botryosphaeria dothidea, X-4 could produce 9-methoxycamptothecin (9-MCPT) when cultured in Sabouraud’s dextrose broth for 12 days under shake flask and bench-scale fermention conditions. This work showed that the fungal endophytes from C. acuminata could be an alternative source for the production of 9-MCPT and other natural antimicrobial compounds.

The iris recognition technology gets rapid development with advantages such as high precision, non-invasive and etc. It is widely considered as one of the most promising biological certification technologies. The iris image acquisition is the key technology and gets more attention. This paper introduces a kind of iris imaging system based on PC. The system uses Micro Controller Unit (MCU) to control light source and ranging module and uses buzzer to indicate the distance between the user and the system. All these can improve the conveniency of the Man-machine interactive. Experiments show that this design method can get the high quality iris images, and enhances the usability of the system..

Sniper tactics is widely used in modern warfare, which puts forward the urgent requirement of counter sniper detection devices. This paper proposed the anti-sniper detection system based on a dual-thermal imaging system. Combining the infrared characteristics of the muzzle flash and bullet trajectory of binocular infrared images obtained by the dual-infrared imaging system, the exact location of the sniper was analyzed and calculated. This paper mainly focuses on the system design method, which includes the structure and parameter selection. It also analyzes the exact location calculation method based on the binocular stereo vision and image analysis, and give the fusion result as the sniper's position.

A feature extraction algorithm of near-infrared human face based on wavelet transform and 2DPCA (two-dimension principal component analysis) was proposed. This algorithm firstly applied wavelet transform to the near-infrared face images, obtained the low frequency components of face images, and removed high frequency components. Secondly applied 2DPCA to the low frequency components of the face images for feature extraction. Finally completed the face recognition using Euclidean distance. The experimental results based on near-infrared face database clearly showed that the proposed algorithm could get higher recognition rate than the traditional PCA and 2DPCA algorithm, which demonstrated the efficiency of the proposed method.

A simplified and low-cost method, boiling lysis, was developed and used to purify the truncated DNA polymerase Stoffel fragment after overproduction of the enzyme in Escherichia coli. The method is based on the thermostable properties of the Stoffel fragment. Conditions such as the boiling time and number of cycles employed were identified as determinants with which to achieve a high yield and activity of this truncated Taq enzyme. Under established conditions, a period of 8 min consisting of two cycles of boiling and centrifuging was ideal for the purification of the Taq protein, followed by dibasic phosphate and ethanol extraction in a single type of storage buffer to remove contaminating nucleic acid. The whole purification process could be achieved within 1 or 2 h. A total yield of 80 mg of truncated Taq enzyme with an activity of 1.6x10(7) units was purified from l litre of bacterial culture. The purified Taq enzyme had a molecular mass of 61 kDa, a value consistent with the truncated DNA polymerase Stoffel fragment reported previously.

Methods 70 kunming mice were randomly divided into 5 groups, one group as blank group.
