The present study was carried out to evaluate the interaction analysis and antiulcerogenic activity of hydroalcoholic leaves extract of Salvia fruticosa leaves against ethanol induced gastric ulceration. Phytochemical and acute toxicity studies were carried out with standard methods. The docking studies performed using the CHARMm algorithm between 6YLU and phytoconstituent. Ulcers are induced in rats by administration of ethanol (1ml/kg, p.o.). One hour prior to ethanol administration, the various groups are treated with Salvia fruticosa extract (250 and 500mg/kg) and standard ranitidine (200mg/kg). A phytochemical study, shows the presence of various phytochemical constituents, while acute toxicity studies found no sign of toxicity. Results of docking studies showed two molecules rosmerinic acid (-54.1556kcal/mol) and stearic acid (-45.8874kcal/mol) showed higher affinity than standard drug. Treatment with extract at dose of 250 and 500mg/kg showed significant reduction in the ulcer score and ulcerative index, when compared to the standard drug Ranitidine.

This research demonstrates how the usage of authentic materials motivate EFL learners. Furthermore, it covers a literature review on the effect of authentic materials in motivating EFL learners, which will help out English as foreign language professors in designing and teaching their students. In short, the stated chunk of this paper emphasizes on how to use authentic materials in the teaching process to motivate learners.

Perhaps it can be said that in the complete biography of the worldly and ascetic poetry of Dari Persian literature, Nasser Khosrow is Kesai and the peak of it is Sana'i. The high frequency of worldly aversion theme in the poem is dependence on the court and their abandonment. The images of the world in the mind of Nasser Khosrow; It is well conveyed through the dictionary. These pictures show its true face. Nasser Khosrow's depiction of the world is not only ugly and unpleasant; Sometimes he looks wise. It should be said that the poet has given many advices on leaving the world and worldly desires, the main reason for which is the impermanence and transience of the world.

A review on a medicinal plant belong to family Labiatae has been made in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Among the reported flora in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Labiatae family has the highest species. A total of 23 species of Labiatae family has been reported with high medicinal value. A detail review on 12 species of Labiatae family had done to know their phytochemical constituents, medicinal uses and pharmacological properties. In this review we also explore the total chemical constituents present in each plant with a unique list of 3D chemical structures. (E)-2-Hexenal, 1,8-Cineole, Bicyclogermacrene, Borneol, Bornyl acetate, Bulnesol, Caffeic acid, Camphene, Camphor, Eugenol, Gallic acid, Quercetin, Terpinene, Thymol, etc are the important constituent in these 12 species of Labiatae family. This study also shows that Marrubium vulgare L, Ocimum basilicum L, Origanum majorana and Otostegia fruticosa plants had reported with many medicinal uses and pharmacological properties. Medicinal constituents include the highest phenolic, flavonoid content and strong aromatic essential oil. Further scientific investigations on these 12 species are needed to explore toxicity and clinical efficacy and as well as to explore the therapeutic effects of major secondary metabolites. The summarized information from the current review may be a useful tool for researchers to carry out further study and explore other scientific aspects of the herbs.

Objective: The aim of this investigation is to formulate, design, optimize and to an evaluation of the rapid soluble orodispersible film (OTF) of dipyridamole (DPI) using the solvent casting method by 32 central composite designs. Methods: Statistical design was used to optimize the preliminary formulations by selecting independent variables such as a polymer (HPMC-E52V, X1) and plasticizer (PEG400, X2) concentration as film-forming polymer and as a plasticizer and the dependent variables such as the release of drug in percentage (Y1), time of disintegration (sec, Y2) and tensile strength (N/m2 Y3). Results: The content of the drug was resulted in the range of 95.05–101 %. The physical properties were found to be colorless and homogenously clear and smooth surface. The folding endurance shown as without any scratches with the pH ranges from 6.35 to 6.75 and the prepared film was not irritated to the oral mucosa. Conclusion: The prepared films showed an optimum time of disintegration that is 25 sec, 96.74% drug release in phosphate buffer of pH 6.8 at initial 5 min and 85.98 % ex-vivo permeation studies after 30 min.

Exploratory factor analysis is a multivariate statistical approach used to create and validate questionnaire items. This research was designed and certified the instrument of advertising and perceived usefulness through exploratory factor analysis, and it is an application in the context of online shopping behaviour. The study examines two constructs: advertising (ADV) and perceived usefulness (PU). One hundred (100) respondents were selected through a simple random sampling procedure to participate and fill out the questionnaire. Based on the reliability test, this study set an instrument of ten items to develop the construct of advertising, while nine items were designed to construct perceived usefulness. The procedures for carrying out EFA for the two constructs are described in detail. Finally, future researchers can use the items by applying the instrument in different research fields.

Objective. To understand the impact of alternate warm and cold therapy (AWCT) on uricemia, sleep, pain, functional ability, and quality of life in gout patients. Methods. A quasiexperimental, nonequivalent control group, pre and posttest design was adopted among 120 gout patients. The data were collected on demographics, comorbidities, pain level, joint swelling/joint tenderness, patient global assessment of response to treatment (PGART), health-related quality of life (HRQoL) with SF-36, sleep quality by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and serum uric acid and assessed. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. Results. Patients had mean age of 58 and 61 years, mean number of comorbidities was 1.8 and 1.4, as well as presence of arthritic comorbidities except gout was 1.1 and 0.8 among study and control group participants, respectively. Pain ( p < 0.001 ), PGART ( p = − 0.01 ), HRQoL, sleep quality, and level of SUA (mg/dl) improved significantly ( p < 0.01 ) among the study group over study periods. It affirms that the AWCT is effective in reducing pain, functional disability, and SUA, as well as improving the sleep quality and HRQoL of the gout patients. There was a reduced incidence of gout flares ( p < 0.001 ), and taking additional medicines for pain ( p < 0.01 ) was statistically significant among study participants. Except social functioning, other domains of health were significantly ( p < 0.05 ) affected by the comorbidities like hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, renal disease, and asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Conclusions. Gout is independently associated with higher medical and arthritic comorbidity, and AWCT can be better and cost-effective alternative therapy for gout patients. In addition, it may lead to improved cardiac function, hypertension, and renal insufficiency.

The dynamic characteristics of social media provide a vast space for society to obtain useful information including political information. This advancement of information dissemination must be benefited by every layer of society including the youth to increase their participation in issues regarding national politics. This research explores the significant factors affecting political information-seeking behavior among youths in Malaysia. The approach of this research is the survey through a questionnaire. Using multi-stage sampling, 381 respondents from selected public universities in Malaysia were identified as a sample. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Efficacy, knowledge, and usefulness of social media affected political information-seeking behavior. Meanwhile, Policy satisfaction and motivation do not affect political information-seeking behavior Thus, political information seeking is seen as more influential towards political behavior with the existence of political information sharing among Malaysia's youth who use social media. The overall results of the study indicate the potential of social media as the main source and medium for Malaysian youths to obtain political information.

Consumer behaviour and decisions to buy from online retailers were increasingly influenced and changed by social media. Because of the never-ending advances in information technology, online shopping is becoming more popular. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the mediating effect of social media on online shopping behaviour in Nigeria. A cross-sectional study was used, and a simple random sampling procedure was used to select three hundred and eighty (380) online shoppers. Data were analysed using Structural Equation Modelling –Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The analysis revealed that advertising had an insignificant effect on online shopping behaviour with a path coefficient (Beta value = 0.11; t value = 1.743; p= 0.082). There is positive relationship between advertising and social media effect (Beta value = 0.787; t value = 34.556; p= 0.000). the proposed relationship between social media effect and Online Shopping Behaviour (=0.378; t-value =5.735; p =0.000) is supported. In contrast, the projected relationship between Trust and Online Shopping Behaviour is (=0.466; t-value =12.817; p =0.000). Lastly, the result revealed there is a strong correlation between Trust and Online Shopping Behaviour.

This study aims to examine advertising, online risk, perceived usefulness, and reliability as factors affecting online shopping behavior among subscribers of online stores in Nigeria. This research adopted a quantitative approach in which a self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data. The respondents consist of 375 subscribers of online stores who had prior online shopping experiences from an online store based in Nigeria. The study used Smart-PLS for data analysis. The findings revealed that advertising and perceived usefulness have a significant positive effect on online shopping behavior. On the other hand, online risk has a negative effect on online shopping behavior. Additionally, there is a positive relationship between reliability and online shopping behavior. This research could be a valuable guideline for online firms to make informed decisions on how to increase online sales. Additionally, this research could advance online shoppers’ knowledge, particularly Nigerians, regarding online shopping.

Objectives: This study was aimed to investigate the knowledge and practice about COVID-19 among adults living in capital of Telangana, India. Methods: A cross sectional web based online study was conducted over a period of 3 months from April to June using structured self- administered online questionnaires. We targeted adults living in Hyderabad using convenience sampling technique. A total of 384 respondents completed the study questionnaires. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24.0. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the status of knowledge, attitude, and practices. Results: Most of the respondents were male (65.1%) aged between 21-30 years (220 out of 384). The most common source of information for the COVID-19 was social media (50.7%). Almost 78% of the respondents were known that COVID-19 associated with dry cough, body pains and fever. Also majority of them were knew that disease can transfer from the infected patients (87%), while most of them (85%) were agreed that wearing facemask can help in controlling the infection. Almost all (92%) of the respondents agreed that isolation and treatment of COVID-19 patients may help in controlling the spread of virus. Background: Smilax zeylanica Linn (Smilaceae) is a woody climbing shrub native to Asia's tropical and subtropical highlands. Traditionally, this plant has been widely used to cure a variety of ailments. Smilax zeylanica stem bark was extracted with ethanol to test its antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory properties. Objective: To study the antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory activities of ethanolic stem bark extract of Smilax zeylanica Linn. in Wistar rats. Methods: The antinociceptive activity has been assessed in mice by formalin-induced paw licking, Eddy’s hot-plate, and acetic-acid induced abdominal stretching models. Carrageenan-induced paw oedema in rats has been conducted to explore the anti-inflammatory activity. Tween 80 (10ml/kg, p.o) was given to the control group, test drug group received ethanol extract of Smilax zeylanica (EESZ) orally at doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg, and standard drugs morphine (5 mg/kg, s.c), diclofenac sodium (10 mg/kg, i.p) were injected to the standard drug group. Results: Oral administration of ethanolic extract of Smilax zeylanica (EESZ) at test doses (200 and 400 mg/kg), produced a significant decrease of the paw licking time for 2 phases (neurogenic and inflammatory) in the formalin test, upsurge of the reaction time in Eddy’s hot plate test, and significantly decreased the abdominal stretching in the acetic acid-induced writhes test. Ethanol extract of Smilax zeylanica significantly decreased the carrageenan-induced paw oedema. Conclusion: The ethanol extract of Smilax zeylanica possesses antinociceptive, anti-inflammatory activity, probably involving central and peripheral pathways

The pressures between the economy and community development increase corporate social responsibility activities, which are more than a strategy to improve a company's corporate image and reputation. Therefore, organizations must provide different options and approaches to increase their contribution to community engagement program. This study has investigated the societal contributions made by organization undertaking entrepreneurial activities. More specifically, this study examines how Corporate Social Entrepreneurship (CSE) can provide long-term societal contributions. The study consists of an intensive case study on Noor Arfa, a Corporate Social Entrepreneurial firm started by Terengganu Batik Industry, to address the social issue of youth unemployment in Terengganu. Noor Arfa hires unemployed young adults to provide them with work experience and training. The study conducted qualitative interviews with CEOs, supervisors and trainees at Noor Arfa and performed observations during one day at Noor Arfa. The study resulted in a proposed model for CSE derived from the empirical findings and entrepreneurship literature. Significant contributions are the critical presence of a business and a social dimension required to be aligned for CSE to provide long-term societal contribution successfully. The underlying factors that affect these dimensions are also presented as well as the values generated through CSE. Additionally, new insights are presented in terms of challenges and opportunities that face a Corporate Social Entrepreneurial organization.

The State of Terengganu has a Law of Appointment of leaders that has been set. DYMM Sultan or menteri besar to be appointed must meet the conditions set out in the Law for the Government of Terengganu dated 2 November 1911 which is also known as ‘Itqan Al Muluk Bita’dil As-Suluk. Therefore, this paper aims to re-document the history of the fifth Terengganu Menteri Besar Dato’Perdana Menteri Di Raja Dato Seri Setia Di Raja Haji Kamaruddin bin Haji Idris. This study was conducted qualitatively using Snowball Sampling Techniques to fifth Menteri Besar youngest son, Dato’ Haji Suhaimi bin Kamaruddin. The results of this study can contribute to the knowledge of the history of the Terengganu state administration and be a source of lessons for the leadership of the menteri besar today and in the future. Recent advances in technology have resulted in over-dependence on social media for communication purposes. With the emergence of various social media platforms, youths have become increasingly active users of social media and are driven to surf online information. As such, youths are susceptible to the influence of social media. Therefore, this research aims to determine the relationship between Youtube usage and youth netizens’ behaviors in the Malaysian context. A structured questionnaire was used to gather data from a sample of 132 youth netizens in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. The data were analyzed using Pearson Correlation at an alpha (α) level of ≤ 0.05 via the Statistical Parkage for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The relationship was measured based on Youtube access, purpose, motivations, and interests, lifestyle, self-personality, and communication skills. The findings showed a significant positive relationship between Youtube usage and youth netizens’ behaviors (r = .711, k < 0.05). It was envisaged that this study will advance our understanding of how Youtube videos influence youth behaviors.

The purpose of this study is to explore the opportunities of integrating Islamic Philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility Management (CSRM) with Brand Personality concept for enhancing Mudarabah Family Takaful Model. The application of CSRM with the best practice in Islamic Philanthropy has been circulating in recent years. Since Takaful services are only provided to those, who have affordability with a good health condition. But supposedly those have inadequate and suffering from a variety of chronic illnesses, and health problems need more medical and health services. The current practice of this study is to review a practical approach in establishing Islamic Philanthropy and Social Responsibility Concept to Enhance Mudarabah Family Takaful Model in Malaysia. This study is called upon to examine how these marginalized groups can enjoy the same facilities as those who are qualified to get the services and benefits of the Takaful. The CSR Theories refer to the implementation of this model in Malaysian Takaful Industry. It is used to establish the conceptual framework of this study. Theoretically, the current study is perhaps one of the first to explore Islamic Philanthropy and Social Responsibility concept to improve the Mudarabah Family Takaful Model. Practically the study proposes to develop a new model and plan based on the dimensions of the Halal brand personality concept of Purity, Secure, Quality, Beneficial and Religious Compliance for beneficial to all people in Malaysia.

To clarify how the communicational objectives such as message efficiency, creating learning networks and sharing knowledge represent guidelines for any strategy that looks at developing a current distribution of information. Place branding management is one of the segments in destination branding, is a complex process of branding an entire country or a part of it. The Strategic Place Brand-Management model (SPBM-model by Hanna and Rowley, 2011) comprises of nine (9) dimensions which are argued to be important parts in the place branding process and research. This chapter aim to understand how place brand copes with the components in the SPBM-model, and to perceive which components in the SPBM-model that can be seen as the most important components based on a case study the perceptions of the city residents Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. By positioning the Kuala Terengganu place branding process with the SPBM-model, it can be understood that all components are strongly connected to each other. Of all nine (9) components, three (3) of them which are evaluation, infrastructure and stakeholders should be given special attention if they are serious in branding Kuala Terengganu as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the world.

Perubahan peta gempa dari tahun ke tahun memberikan dampak terhadap desain bangunan. Salah satu bangunan yang terdampak yaitu jembatan. Jembatan merupakan suatu infrastruktur yang sangat dibutuhkan karena fungsinya sebagai penghubung antara dua daerah yang terputus oleh beberapa keadaan lapangan seperti sungai, jalan, dan lembah. Jembatan yang dianalisis pada tugas akhir ini adalah jembatan yang diambil dari BMS 1992. Jenis jembatan yaitu Jembatan Beton Bertulang Bentang 25 m dan tinggi penampang 1,75 m. Tujuan dilakukan analisis ini untuk dapat mengetahui apakah kapasitas dari penampang balok mampu menahan gaya dalam yang dihasilkan dari struktur atas jembatan beton bertulang bentang 25 m akibat beban gempa pada peta gempa terbaru. Untuk beban gempa analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis respon spektra percepatan gempa diambil dari website resmi pusjatan dan diambil dari peta gempa terbaru tahun 2017. Lokasi pengambilan data percepatan gempa yaitu berada di Kota Padang Sumatera Barat dengan kondisi tanah sedang. Analisa struktur dilakukan menggunakan software SAP2000 dengan fase respon pada fase elastik. Hasil dari analisis struktur diperoleh gaya dalam akibat pembeban berdasarkan peraturan SNI 1725:2016 dan SNI 2883:2016. Evaluasi jembatan ini dilakukan dengan membandingkan hasil gaya dalam yang diperoleh dengan kapasitas penampang yang tersedia dari penampang gelagar utama jembatan serta mencek apakah lendutan yang tersedia masih dalam keadaan batas yang diijinkan. Hasil yang diperoleh dari evaluasi yaitu terdapat gaya dalam yang tidak aman yaitu gaya aksial tarik yang terjadi pada struktur gelagar utama dan lendutan yang terjadi masih dalam keadaan batas yang diijinkan bagi jembatan.

Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) is a technique for determining a measure’s factor structure and assessing its internal consistency or reliability. EFA is essential for determining which components should be included in the study instrument. Social media is one of the most critical factors that affect online shopping behaviour. Thus, this study aims to use exploratory factor analysis to validate an instrument measuring social media in the context of online shopping. The questionnaire used in this study is adapted from previous studies. The researchers utilised a cross-sectional research design to conduct the EFA, collecting data from 100 respondents using a structured survey. The result shows that the construct has one component. The KMO is 0.892, and the outcome of Bartlett’s Test of Sphericity was significant (Chisquare = 510.816, p-value 0.000; this indicated that the data are okay to proceed. Cronbach’s Alpha was higher than 0.7, meaning that all items are reliable. The study concludes that the instruments used to measure social media in this research are valid and reliable.

Higher Education Institutions (HEI) have been gaining political power and proximity in cities all around the world since the industrial revolution initiated in the 19th century. Due to high demand in a very competitive globalized knowledge economic sector, HEI sector has transformed into a commodity and is interdependent with the global market. The vast economic outburst has also resulted HEI to be associated with a myriad of business sector including tourism industry through an array of knowledge-based enterprises such as academic conferences, arts and sport festivals and other multitudes of academic mobility events. HEI has also spurted a local economic catalyst contributing to job creations both directly and indirectly. HEI have been represented by education-marketers as a place for the amalgamation of intellectual development and sensorial experiences through various visual consumptions. This trend also signifies the convergence and depolarisation of work and leisure whereby prospective students intends to study at a place that would also provide some recreational values. Hence, this study aims to contribute to a conceptual understanding of the field HEI and City Branding by evaluating previous works on Edu-tourism and branding. Secondary data are gathered from various sources and it is concluded that despite Malaysia being one of the most known and visited countries in South East Asia with a vast number of international students enrolled in the country, there are still many domains and areas that have yet to be tapped to its fullest potential to create a more robust and cohesive city branding efforts in line with HEI growth.

Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most commonly occurring cancer in men and the second most commonly occurring cancer in women. Curcumin (CMN) is obtained from a natural source and has no toxicity, even at high doses (8,000 mg/kg body weight in 24 hours) and was determined to have anticancer potency on several kinds of carcinoma. However, its medical applications were limited because of its low solubility and poor bioavailability. Materials and methods To improve the medical applications of CMN, various hydrophilic carriers such as poloxamer 407 (PMX-407), poloxamer 188 (PMX-188), Gelucire 50/13 (Gel-50/13), and mannitol (MNL) were used to prepare a binary complex solid dispersion (SD). These binary SDs were characterized for aqueous solubility in various solvents. Physical stability, thermal behaviors, and morphology were determined by Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometric analysis, powder X-ray diffraction analysis, thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, dynamic light scattering study, and the novel dyeing test. In vitro drug release was determined by dissolution study. Based on the characterization, the better SD complex was optimized using Box-Behnken design (BBD). The cytotoxicity and apoptosis study of prepared CMN (C-SD) were used to test for colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines. Results These results showed that the solubility of CMN is greatly improved after complexation with PXM-407 in SD. CMN is practically insoluble in water at acidic and neutral pH; however, the SD of CMN with PXM-407 produced significant improvement in solubility (1.266±0.0242 mg/mL) and dissolution (91.36±0.431% at 30 minutes); similarly, these data fit with a phase solubility study and in silico molecular modeling. Moreover, the solid-state characterization revealed that the SD complex exhibits the intermolecular hydrogen bond with drug and carrier. Also, the complex does not undergo any chemical modification owing to the amorphous form, and the dye test showed better coloring impact indicating the solubility of CMN. The cell cycle arrest confirmed at G2/M phase from flow cytometry analysis, and Western blot investigation was recognized molecular level cell death and the complex induced more exploit DNA during apoptosis. Conclusion This study confirmed that the ideal stoichiometric ratio of CMN with carrier to enhance its solubility was 1:1. This molecular complex of PXM-407 was found to be more effective against colorectal cancer (CRC) than pure CMN.

Diabetes mellitus is a common metabolic disorder of carbohydrate, fat, and protein, which results in high levels of glucose in the body after a meal or fasting. This disease is caused by the absence or reduction of insulin secretion. Accordingly, diabetes is usually classified into two types, Type 1(IDDM) and Type II (NIDDM). The aim of the present study is to carry the phytochemical analysis and antidiabetic activity of Salvia aegyptiaca L ethanolic leaves extract. Phytochemical study was carried out by standard methods, shows the presence of various phytochemical constituents such as, phenols, flavonoids, steroids, proteins, glycosides, carbohydrates, lipids, alkaloids, tannins and terpenoids, while saponins shown to be absent. Antidiabetic activity of Salvia aegyptiaca L were carried out in both normoglycemic and diabetic induced rats. Normoglycemic animal group were fed with ethanolic leaves extract of Salvia aegyptiaca L at a dose of 250mg/kg and 500mg/kg alone for 14days, showed decrease in blood glucose level. In diabetic animal group the rats were made diabetic by intraperitoneal(i.p) injection of 100 mg/kg alloxan monohydrate, then followed by administration of ethanolic leaves extract of Salvia aegyptiaca (250mg/kg and 500mg/kg) and standard Tolbutamide (50mg/kg,p.o) for14 days. The results of the diabetic induced group also showed decrease in glucose levels. The results of the current investigation demonstrate that various phytochemical present in Salvia aegyptiaca L ethanolic leaves extracts, might be responsible for antidiabetic effect, due to its known antioxidant property.

The impact of a soluble complex (SC) of curcumin (CuR) synthesized using hot melt (HM) and hot-melt extrusion (HE) technologies on adenocarcinoma cells for the treatment of colorectal cancer by enhancing CuR solubility is investigated in this work.

Purpose: Using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), this study sought to develop and evaluate a new model of CSR activities from a community perspective. Theoretical Framework: The levels of CSR activities are evaluated by the four dimensions summarized by Carroll (1991): ETH (Ethical dimension), PHil (Philanthropic dimension), Eco (Economic dimension), and Law (Legal dimension). Items in every dimension were validated using CFA. The ethical, philanthropic, economic, and legal frameworks also provided evidence of validity and reliability. Design/methodology/approach: The study employed a cross-sectional survey method in which structured questionnaires were used to gather data from a randomly selected sample of 317 residents from three selected villages in the State of Malacca, Malaysia. The statistical analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Findings: The CSR model approaches were validated and demonstrated to be effective. Four constructs' results demonstrated the validity and reliability of the measurement methodology for CSR practice components. The results showed that the fitness index is satisfactory. Additionally, all correlations were found to be less than 0.85, suggesting that the construct correlations are satisfied. Thus, the model is proven to be valid. Research, Practical & Social Implications: This research provides valuable information concerning community-based CSR practices that could supplement organizations’ efforts toward offering positive social contributions. This research could also help organizations to adopt a more creative approach to profit maximization. Originality/value: This research developed a new model for community-based CSR. This new perspective can offer insights into the development of CSR in the Malaysian context.

The novel itraconazole (ITZ) nail penetration enhancing self-emulsifying nanovesicles (ITZ-nPEVs) loaded in carboxymethyl fenugreek gum (CMFG) gel circumvent the systemic onychomycosis treatment. The ITZ-nPEVs were prepared by the thin film hydration technique, and the particle size (PS), zeta potential (ZP), drug content (DC), entrapment efficiency (% EE), deformity index (DI), viscosity, morphology, and physical stability of the ITZ-nPEVs were measured. In terms of nail hydration, transungual drug absorption, and antifungal efficacy against Candida albicans, the chosen ITZ-nPEVs, nPEV-loaded CMFG (CMFG-ITZ-nPEVs) gel, and the commercialized Itrostred gel were compared. The ITZ-nPEVs showed spherical structure with high DC, % EE, low PS and PDI and positive ZP of ITZ ranging from 95.36 to 93.89 mg/5 mL and 95.36–96.94%, 196.55–252.5 nm, 0.092–0.49, and +11.1 to +22.5 mV, respectively. Compared to the Itrostred gel, the novel ITZ-nPEVs exhibited hydration enhancement factor for 24 h (HE24) of 1.53 and 1.39 drug uptake enhancement factor into nail clippings. Moreover, zone of inhibitions for ITZ-nPEVs (27.0 ± 0.25 mm) and CMFG-ITZ-nPEVs (33.2 ± 0.09 mm) against Candida albicans were significantly greater than that of Itrostred gel (22.9 ± 0.44 mm). For clinical investigation on onychomycotic patients, a nail penetration enhancer containing ITZ-nPEV-loaded CMFG gel presents a highly promising approach.
