Given the importance of models in complicated problem solving, an inappropriate energy model can lead to inaccurate decisions and poor policy prescriptions. This paper aims at developing a decision support tool with which the selection of appropriate model characteristics can be facilitated for developing countries. Hence, it provides a comparative overview of different ways of energy models characterization and extracts the underlying relationships amongst them. Moreover, evolution of dynamic characteristics of energy models for developing countries is identified according to the previous studies on the developed and developing countries. To do this, it reviews the related literature and follows a systematic comparative approach to achieve its purposes. These findings are helpful in cases where model developers themselves are looking for appropriate characteristics in terms of certain purpose or situation.

Pemphigus Vulgaris (PV) is a vesiculobullous autoimmune disorder characterized by production of autoantibody against cellular adhesion molecules. The treatment of PV is based on the use of systemic corticosteroid along with immunosuppressive therapy, but sometimes there are limited resistant lesions not responding to conventional systemic therapy. This double-blind, randomized clinical trial was designed to evaluate the efficacy of intralesional rituximab versus triamcinolone in treatment of the refractory scalp and mucosal pemphigus lesions.2 refractory lesions of PV were selected in 21 patients, and they were randomly assigned to two groups to be treated with either intralesional triamcinolone or rituximab for 2 times at one-month interval. All of the patients were under treatment with prednisolone and azathioprine. Patients were visited at the baseline, 1 and 6 months after treatment, and all information including demographic characteristics of the patients, Pemphigus Vulgaris Lesion Severity Score (PVLSS), Epithelialization Index (EI) and patient's satisfaction (using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS)) were obtained. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software (ver18).The results showed that, both rituximab and triamcinolone were effective in treatment of the refractory PV lesions (p 0.05). However, there was no significant difference between the effect of intralesional rituximab and triamcinolone (p 0.05). In addition, no side effect was observed in both groups.Regarding the results of the present study, the use of intralesional rituximab can be suggested for treatment of the resistant PV lesions as an alternative to intralesional triamcinolone or using more aggressive systemic therapy.

INTRODUCTION Aging is an inevitable process in life that can pose unsatisfactory changes in appearance. Recently, rejuvenation surgeries have opened an exciting new window toward people who are vulnerable according to their facial appearance. Periocular plastic microsurgeries are among the most common aesthetic surgeries with various outcomes. The current study was aimed to compare outcomes of blepharoplasty with and without peeling regarding lower eyelid rejuvenation. METHODS This is a randomized clinical trial study conducted on 30-patients referred for inferior lid rejuvenation in 2017-18. Patients were randomly divided into two 15-member subgroups of microinvasive blepharoplasty with and without peeling. Peeling for the group underwent blepharopeeling was performed all over the inferior periocular region using Phenol 89%. Then, skin and underlying muscle were incised superficially, and underlying fat tissue was excised. The other group underwent blepharoplasty without peeling. Patients were followed daily for 2 months to assess complications, patients' and physicians' satisfaction. RESULTS Two assessed groups were not statistically different regarding age and gender distribution (P-value = .417 and .666, respectively). Considering patients' opinion, symmetry, scar formation, skin laxity, swelling, and total satisfaction score were not different between two groups (P-value > .05) while physicians presented similar outcomes except for better scar formation status of peeling add-on therapy (P-value = .042). Rate of adverse effects was significantly higher among those under blepharoplasty plus peeling treatment (P-value

The two dimensional (2D) plasmon propagation in the channel of a high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) is numerically modeled using the full wave technique. To analyze the proposed structure, the Maxwell’s equations are solved inconjuction to the hydrodynamic transport equations, using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The properties of the 2D plasmons propagation along the channel are investigated by applying different bias voltages to the drain and the gate terminals. The obtained results show that the wavelengths and the propagation constants of the 2D plasmons are considerably affected by varying the bias voltages. Moreover, the proposed full wave model is employed to investigate the tunability of a grating gate HEMT detector over terahertz (THz) frequencies. Our studies demonstrate that it is possible to control the characteristics of the 2D plasmon propagation along the channel of HEMT devices to produce various types of reconfigurable structures used for THz applications.

The aim of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the relationship between body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip ratio, and lipid parameters and serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels in healthy euthyroid individuals. This cross-sectional study was conducted between June 1st and July 20th, 2013, at Bushehr University of Medical Sciences. One hundred forty euthyroid individuals were divided into 2 groups: a high-TSH group (TSH between 2.0 and 5.5 mIU/L, n=67) and a low-TSH group (TSH between 0.3 and 2.0 mIU/L, n=73). After overnight fast, total cholesterol, triglyceride (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), TSH, thyroxine (T4), and triiodothyronine (T3) were measured. Height and weight were measured with a stadiometer, and BMI was calculated as weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. Waist-to-hip ratio was determined as waist circumference divided by hip circumference. The simple independent t-test and a general linear model were used for statistical analysis. All statistical analyses were done using the SPSS, version 15, statistical software package. BMI and LDL-C were significantly higher in the high-TSH group than in the low-TSH group after adjustment for age, sex, calorie intake, total fat and carbohydrate intakes, and physical activity. No significant differences were found between the groups in TG, cholesterol, and HDL-C. The association between TSH levels andT4 was significant. Individuals with TSH levels at the upper limit of normality might be at risk of hypercholesterolemia and obesity.

INTRODUCTION: Blood contamination of the canal during preparation can be a major problem in endodontics; this may result in apical microleakage. The aim of this in vitrostudy was to evaluate the effect of blood on apical microleakage of a resin-based root canal sealer (AH26) and a polymer-based root canal sealer (Epiphany). MATERIALS & METHODS: In this experimental study, 50 decoronated central incisors and canine teeth were prepared by RaCe rotary system and randomly divided into 4 groups (n=10). Groups A1 and A2 were obturated by Epiphany/Resilon and AH26/Gutta-percha, respectively. The obturations were performed with a single cone technique after drying root canals. In B1 and B2 groups, the test groups, 0.02cc citrated human blood was injected into dried root canals and they were obturated in the same manner. Ten specimens were served as positive and negative controls (n=5).The apical leakage was measured by means of a computerized fluid filtration method after 1 day and 3 weeks. The data was analyzed by One-Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Independent Sample t-test and univariate analysis. Statistical significances were preset at α=0.05. RESULTS: There was no significant difference in apical microleakage of the two sealers after 1 day and 3 weeks in dry and blood environment (P>0.05). Sealer and environment had no interaction (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: Blood contamination has no significant effect on the apical microleakage of Epiphny and AH26.

Solvable Graphs (also known as Reachable Graphs) are types of graphs that any arrangement of a specified number of agents located on the graph’s vertices can be reached from any initial arrangement through agents’ moves along the graph’s edges, while avoiding deadlocks (interceptions). In this paper, the properties of Solvable Graphs are investigated, and a new concept in multi agent motion planning, called Minimal Solvable Graphs is introduced. Minimal Solvable Graphs are the smallest graphs among Solvable Graphs in terms of the number of vertices. Also, for the first time, the problem of deciding whether a graph is Solvable for m agents is answered, and a new algorithm is presented for making an existing graph solvable and lean for a given number of agents. Finally, through an industrial example, it is demonstrated that how the findings of this paper can be used in designing and reshaping transportation networks (e.g. railways, traffic roads, AGV routs, robotic workspaces, etc.) for multiple moving agents such as trains, vehicles, and robots.

Background: Aberrations in the root canal anatomy are clinically challenging for clinicians. Mandibular first molars usually have 2 roots and 3 or 4 canals, but various combinations may exist. A distal root with three canals is rare and its incidence in literature is about 0.2 - 3%. As a diagnostic tool, cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) may be a better choice for diagnosis of extra roots or canals comparing to conventional radiography. Methods: An endodontic management of a mandibular first molar with six canals was performed. CBCT was used to confirm the diagnosis and to understand the morphology of the canals. Results: Evaluation of the axial and coronal slices of CBCT images confirmed the presence of 2 roots and 6 canals. The distal root had four distinct root canal orifices with two apical foramens, being described as type XIV canal configuration. Conclusions: Dentists should be aware of unexpected canal morphology when performing endodontic treatment. The present case demonstrated the use of CBCT in diagnosis and negotiation of extra canals in a mandibular first molar.
