Analysis of topics of scientific research works conducted in educational institutions of higher education and dissertation research on the issues of physical education of students and student sports was carried out. Systematization of research topics for 2014–2022 was done. It has been established that the vast majority of studies are devoted to physical education. The most common areas are the development of training programs for professionally applied physical training and using means of various sports and physical activity. The analysis indicates the need for strategic planning of scientific activities on issues of physical education and student sports, and the intensification of scientific activities in student sports.

The article presents a report on the All-Russian contest of projects “History of Student Sports” within the framework of the All-Russian historical and patriotic student project “History of Student Sports”.

The article is devoted to current problems of human resources potential development of educational departments of physical culture and sports in higher educational institutions, reflected in the Strategy for Physical Culture and Sports Development in the Russian Federation until 2030 and in the Concept for the Student Sport Development in the Russian Federation until 2025. The article also presents the analysis of the implementation of the educational program “Organization of the activities of educational departments of physical culture and sports in higher educational institutions”.

In accordance with the Concept of Student Sport Development in the Russian Federation until 2025, one of the priority directions is the improvement of scientific and methodological support of the subjects of the student sports system. In the context of scientific and methodological support of student sport it is significant not only to intensify research in this area, but also to match the direction of the research with the key tasks of student sport development. In order to form approaches for the development of the research studies taking into account priority directions of student sports development, the authors have carried out and systematized 8083 papers on student sport and physical education of students. The papers were published in scientific journals and materials of research conferences for the period from 2000 to 2022 and placed in scientific electronic library. Based on the results of the study, the authors identified key trends in the development of scientific research activities in the field of student sports. The authors formed a model of interaction between the department of physical education and other structural units and organizations to expand the directions of scientific research.

The article substantiates the relevance of the problem of the development of social initiative of the individual in the modern realities of Russian society; it is proved that students are characterized by the highest social activity, and an educational organization, representing various types of educational and extracurricular activities (innovative, research, social, sports, creative, etc.), has the potential to develop flexible Soft Skills: communicative, organizational and leadership. The content characteristics of a socially initiative personality are defined, including activity, responsibility, performance; the concept of “social initiative” is considered. Based on the results of a survey on the problem under study (sample – 2.130 respondents), the attitude of medical students to social activity as an activity capable of transforming society and themselves, to leadership and initiative necessary for success was identified; relevant and in demand types of social practices (event volunteering, physical education and sports, near-sports communities, tourism, etc.) were revealed. The authors have proposed the most interesting social projects and programs for the student community in order to form a social experience.

The article is devoted to the current problems of the human resources development of the subjects of the student sports system. The article presents the experience and analysis of the implementation of the additional professional training programmeme “Organization of mass sports work in a student sports club” for specialists in the field of student sports.

In the context of the digitalization of society, there is a crisis in the values of physical culture; the fact of falling down in individual health potential is alarming. The purpose is to determine the influence of digital didactic resources on formation of the values of physical culture in the educational environment in the medical university. In modern conditions of digitalization of society the values of physical culture are becoming increasingly important as a system-forming factor of the nation’s health. The purpose of the research is to reveal the educational potential of digital technologies in promoting the values of physical culture in the educational environment of the university. The study involved 1569 young men and women of the first and second years of full-time education of the State Medical University of Orenburg. The survey method and the in-depth interview method in online mode were used to collect statistical data in a pandemic. As a result of the study, respondents developed basic digital skills in using various fitness applications for mobile devices, physical education and sports programmes, digital tools, smart wearable devices (MHealth gadgets) that allow monitoring students’ physiological indicators. There was an increase in the level of motor activity in online classes using educational platforms. There is a positive dynamics in the orientation of the student’s personality to health as a value. At the end of the experimental work, the respondents improved their digital skills in using various fitness applications for mobile devices, physical education and sports programmes, digital tools, smart wearable devices (MHealth gadgets) that allow monitoring the students’ physiological indicators. The systematic introduction of digital technologies in the teaching of disciplines (modules) in physical culture and sports and understanding of their educational potential contributed to the personification of the learning process; visualization of environments for the training process; enlargement of forms of physical culture and recreation activities; introduction of platform solutions as a space for pedagogical innovations.

Abstract Background Members of the aquatic monocot family Lemnaceae (commonly called duckweeds) represent the smallest and fastest growing flowering plants. Their highly reduced morphology and infrequent flowering result in a dearth of characters for distinguishing between the nearly 38 species that exhibit these tiny, closely-related and often morphologically similar features within the same family of plants. Results We developed a simple and rapid DNA-based molecular identification system for the Lemnaceae based on sequence polymorphisms. We compared the barcoding potential of the seven plastid-markers proposed by the CBOL (Consortium for the Barcode of Life) plant-working group to discriminate species within the land plants in 97 accessions representing 31 species from the family of Lemnaceae. A Lemnaceae-specific set of PCR and sequencing primers were designed for four plastid coding genes (rpoB, rpoC1, rbcL and matK) and three noncoding spacers (atpF-atpH, psbK-psbI and trnH-psbA) based on the Lemna minor chloroplast genome sequence. We assessed the ease of amplification and sequencing for these markers, examined the extent of the barcoding gap between intra- and inter-specific variation by pairwise distances, evaluated successful identifications based on direct sequence comparison of the "best close match" and the construction of a phylogenetic tree. Conclusions Based on its reliable amplification, straightforward sequence alignment, and rates of DNA variation between species and within species, we propose that the atpF-atpH noncoding spacer could serve as a universal DNA barcoding marker for species-level identification of duckweeds.

Reduction of nickel-silica systems prepared by the heterophase sol-gel method over a wide concentration range was studied. An unexpected effect was observed upon the further increase in the silica content, viz., the reduction temperature fell down but the nickel crystallites increased in size up to 15 nm.

Silica aerogels comprising nickel oxide nanoparticles were synthesized with no use of supercritical drying. A high specific surface area (more than 1000 m2/g), mesoporous structure and considerable stability to sintering up to 900 °C are characteristic of these aerogels. The aerogels were synthesized using the sol–gel method. Filamentous carbon was templated by silica, tetraethoxysilane being used for supplying silica. Carbon was burnt later. Analysis of the aerogel structure revealed the presence of silica nanotubes and nanofibers. Aerogel testing for direct oxidation of H2S into S0 demonstrated as high as 60% conversion of hydrogen sulfide at almost 100% selectivity under stoichiometric conditions at the temperature range of 300–350 °C and 73% conversion at 100% selectivity at a considerable excess of oxygen at 160 °C.
