International audience; Spectrocolorimetric properties provide a quick, low-cost and non-destructive alternative to the measurement of geochemical and organic matter parameters. Their potential to discriminate between forest, cultivated and subsoil sources was tested in soils and sediment collected in coastal catchments draining the main radioactive pollution plume of Fukushima Prefecture, Japan. Fifteen spectrocolorimetric properties were determined in potential source (n=37) and sediment (n=400) samples collected during 13 campaigns from 2011-2017 in two catchments (covering a total surface area of 450 km$^2$) draining the main radioactive pollution plume. Potential sources included topsoil from forest and cropland sources along with subsoil material originating from landslides, channel banks and the decontamination of cultivated areas. The optimum set of parameters used in the mixed linear model to calculate the sediment source contributions was obtained through the use of a range test, the Kruskal-Wallis H-test, and a linear discriminant analysis. Nine colour parameters correctly classified 100% of the source samples (forest, subsoil and cultivated sources). The results illustrate that cultivated landscapes were the main source of sediment to these river systems (mean 56%, SD 34%) followed by subsoil (mean 26%, SD 16%) and forest sources (mean 21%, SD 24%). However, these contributions strongly varied over time, with a peak of subsoil contributions (mean 57%, SD 17%) in Fall 2015, coinciding with the occurrence of a typhoon after the remediation works. These original results demonstrate that spectrocolorimetric measurements provide a powerful tool for the monitoring of the effectiveness of remediation works in this post-accidental context.

International audience; The accident that occurred at the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) in March 2011 resulted in the formation of a radioactive pollution plume on soils of Northeastern Japan. Among the emitted radionuclides, radiocesium (including Cs-137) is the most problematic substance over the medium to long term, because of its abundance and its relatively long half-life. The soils heavily contaminated with Cs-137 are drained by several coastal rivers to the Pacific Ocean, and extensive soil erosion occurring during typhoons may lead to the significant redistribution of these particle-bound radionuclides. To prepare the return of the local populations in the most contaminated areas, the Japanese authorities carried out remediation works consisting in the removal of the 5-cm topsoil layer heavily contaminated with Cs-137. Accordingly, the application of an alternative sediment tracing technique based on the measurement of spectrocolorimetry parameters was investigated to quantify the effectiveness of remediation. These measurements were conducted using a portable diffuse reflectance spectrophotometer (Konica Minolta 2600d) between 360 and 740 nm, with a 10-nm resolution. Potential sources samples corresponded to (i) topsoil collected under forests or paddy fields before remediation works, and (ii) subsoil material originating from channel bank/landslide erosion, or collected in paddy fields after decontamination. Sediment samples consisted of fine material deposited in the main river channel after the main floods and were systematically collected at the same locations every six months, between 2011–2017, in the Mano and Niida River catchments, Fukushima Prefecture. The results showed that the contribution of subsoil to sediment strongly varied across space and throughout time, reflecting the significant impact of decontamination works and the continuous ‒ although minor ‒ contribution of landslides as a perennial source of material transiting rivers in this region of the world. La campagne de fouille de 2018 au Frankenbourg a permis de compléter la fouille du rempart inférieur du site, du fossé qui le précédait et de la porte qui permettait d’accéder au site. Cette dernière se présente sous la forme d’un petit couloir de 4,25 m de long et 6 à 8 m de large, formé par une interruption du rempart. La superstructure qui enjambait l’accès, à l’arrière de ce couloir, était fondée sur 9 poteaux au moins et dessinait deux chaussées. Le fossé, dont la présence a été identifiée dès 2014, et qui a été fouillé en 2017, a été coupé à nouveau au niveau du passage devant lequelil ne s’interrompt pas. Deux sondages ont été ouverts à la mains au niveau du rempart, en direction du sud. Le premier a permis de relever une coupe complète du système défensif, bien que le rempart soit très mal conservé dans ce secteur. Le second n’a pas pu être fouillé complètement. Il montre des niveaux de pierres sans agencement précis, qu’il est difficile d’attribuer à une architecture. Le mobilier, relativement peu abondant, confirme les orientation chronologiques précédentes et permet de placer la construction de la fortification à La Tène finale. Enfin, l’important lot de scories mis au jour depuis 2014 a été étudié dans le cadre d’un master de l’université de Strasbourg qui a montré l’importance des travaux de forge sur le site.

International audience; Les auteurs se demandent si les prévisions sur les entreprises de biotechnologies spécialisées dans la thérapie humaine et les applications diagnostiques sont, soit incomplètes, soit trop optimistes. Le sentiment est que l'industrie des biotechnologies est passée d'une situation de mise sur le marché très favorable à des perspectives plus sombres principalement basées sur des promesses. Ils mettent en avant le fait que le régime traditionnel de recherche devrait être complété par un régime de coordination, faisant ressortir le besoin d'une intervention plus directe pour orienter l'industrie des biotechnologies vers des fins plus profitables.

National audience; The authors present a computer program library (fig. 3) to get automatic mapping of the incoming solar radiation on hilly regions. The landscapes are squared into cells or « sectons » of which slope and orientation are determined. The daily irradiation of each « secton is calculated according to processes perfected by PERRIN DE BRICHAMBAUT (1978), but slightly modified to take into account the possible occultation of the sun by relief. The program of the total irradiation reckoning was tested during two years of very different weathers in 9 climatic stations for horizontal areas : 8 in France and the last one in the Guadeloupe (French West Indies). The results are satisfying in general. Furthermore the program was checked on a sloping area, but in a single case (fig. 1), here again, the results are rather good. The program of the cast shadows calculation is being compared with another method. Since the radiation absolute values estimates are satisfying, the radiation variations in terms of topography should be much better.; Les auteurs présentent une bibliothèque de programmes (fig. 3) permettant la cartographie automatique de l’éclairement énergétique d’origine solaire pour une région accidentée. Le programme de calcul d’irradiation globale a été testé, pour deux années climatiquement très différentes, sur 8 stations métropolitaines et une station de la Guadeloupe (Antilles). Les résultats sont satisfaisants. Il n’a pu être testé que pour une seule surface inclinée (fig. 1), mais là encore, les résultats sont encourageants. Le programme de calcul des ombres portées est en cours de confrontation avec une autre méthode. Les estimations des valeurs absolues du rayonnement étant bonnes, les variations du rayonnement en fonction de la topographie doivent être bien meilleures.
