Intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia (IPEH), also called masson tumor which is a benign vascular tumor named after Pierre Masson, the French pathologist who originally described it in 1923, terming it “hémangioendothéliome végétant intravasculaire.” It is characterized by a reactive proliferation of endothelial cells associated with thrombosis. Ultrasound and MRI are the main imaging examinations, but the diagnosis of IPEH was confirmed by biopsy pathology and immunohistochemistry. It is generally accepted that surgical excision is the first choice of treatment. In this report, we report a case of Masson tumor arising in the right wrist.

The utilization of a new energy hydrogen production system is an effective approach to enhance the absorption capacity of renewable energies such as wind and solar power. The current research on energy management of electrolyzer, both domestically and internationally, primarily focuses on single-electrolyzer. The energy management of single-electrolyzer fails to account for the nonlinearity in its operational characteristics, thereby posing challenges in considering the hydrogen production efficiency of multi-electrolyzers and its impact on system economics. The present study focuses on the energy management of a novel hydrogen production system incorporating multi-electrolyzers. The energy management optimization model incorporates wind power, photovoltaic systems, batteries, and multiple electrolyzers to achieve targets for new energy consumption rate, economic income, and hydrogen production rate. Taking into account the operational characteristics of a single electrolyzer and production constraints, the multi-objective optimization problem is solved by strength Pareto evolutionary algorithm 2 (SPEA2). The simulation research demonstrates that the proposed energy management strategy can achieve a 100% absorption rate of newly generated power from renewable sources, while simultaneously increasing the hydrogen production efficiency per unit by 5.15%. The effective management of energy in a multi-electrolyzers hydrogen production system is crucial for enhancing the efficiency of hydrogen production and effectively addressing the limitations associated with single-electrolyzer operation and energy management.

Currently, English teaching in colleges and universities faces the challenge of low efficiency in vocabulary teaching. Deep learning technology, an advanced artificial intelligence technology, provides new ideas for solving this problem. Constructing an efficient teaching aid system can achieve personalized vocabulary learning and significantly improve learning efficiency and effectiveness. Aiming to address the efficiency and effectiveness problems in English vocabulary teaching in colleges and universities, this study develops an English vocabulary teaching assistance system based on deep learning. Deep learning algorithms allow the system to analyze students’ learning habits and abilities and provide personalized vocabulary learning suggestions. The research constructs neural network models, uses big data to explore students’ learning behaviors, and develops an intelligent pushing mechanism. The system in this paper achieved face recognition accuracy of 81.08% and 98.84% on the FER and C.K. datasets, which verify the model’s effectiveness. Through the teaching experiments conducted on two classes in Y school in W city, the average score of the English vocabulary test of the class taught with this system increased from 75 to 93, significantly higher than that of the traditional teaching methods. This auxiliary system can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of English vocabulary learning, which also offers new technical support for English teaching in colleges and universities.

Fe-Ni based alloys have been widely used in nuclear and aerospace industries due to their excellent high temperature strength, preferable combination of hardness and toughness, outstanding corrosion and oxidation resistance. However, with the accelerated development of modern industry, the service environment becomes more severe, thus the traditional Fe-Ni based alloys may hardly meet the requirements of future engineering applications. In this paper, the effects of the addition of pre-transition group elements on the phase structure and properties of Fe-Ni alloys were reviewed. Based on the basic theory of thermodynamics of phase diagram and phase transition, the focus is on the effects of addition of pre-transition group elements (RE, Ti, V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, W, etc.) on the phase structure of the alloy; the relationship between the composition-structure-service properties of Fe-Ni-based alloys were further discussed; and it was pointed out that the current research work on element modified Fe-Ni based alloys tends to focus on the synergistic effect of multiple alloys on Fe-Ni based alloys, and lacks the research on adding a single element and the corresponding thermal and kinetic data support. On this basis, the mechanism of action of different elements was explored; the corresponding thermal and kinetic databases were established to optimize the simulation and calculation solutions of alloys in the oxidation process.

The TiAlN-based coatings have good mechanical and anti-oxidation properties. Therefore, they have been widely used in the surface protection of typical mechanical parts, such as aero-engine compressor blades, cutting tools and precision molds. However, with the continuous improvement of the performance requirements of mechanical parts, the service conditions of the coating are becoming more and more harsh, and the reliability and service life of the protective coating are facing more severe challenges. Addition of the pre-transitional elements into TiAlN coatings is an effective method to improve their properties in various aspects for a prolonged service life. In this work, based on the ternary TiAlN coating, the effects of the addition of pre-transitional elements X (X=V, Cr, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta and W) on the structures and properties of TiAlN coatings were systematically discussed with the aid of phase diagrams. Furthermore, the composition-structure-property relationship of TiAlXN coatings was tentatively established. In view of the problems faced by adding pre-transitional elements to TiAlN coating, such as lack of phase diagram calculation assistance, failure behavior of quaternary coating in extreme environment and high cost of coating preparation equipment, the prospects of developing quaternary phase diagram of TiAlXN system combined with phase field simulation, developing TiAlN based high entropy coating and vigorously developing coating preparation technology combined with the advantages of vapor deposition technology were put forward in this paper.

BackgroundRecently, the Age–Bleeding–Organ Dysfunction (ABO) algorithm was recommended by the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology Consensus as a binary approach to evaluate bleeding risk. This analysis made comparison of the predictive performances between the PRECISE-DAPT and ABO bleeding score in identifying the risk of 12-months major bleeding in Chinese elderly patients over 65 years old patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) during dual-antiplatelet therapy period.MethodsA total of 2,037 elderly coronary artery disease (CAD) patients (≥65 years) receiving dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) after PCI were enrolled in the study. The predictive accuracy of the two bleeding risk scores (PRECISE-DAPT and ABO) was compared for identifying the risk of bleeding during the dual-antiplatelet therapy in patients who underwent PCI. Major clinically relevant bleeding events were defined according to the Bleeding Academic Research Consortium (BARC) criteria.ResultsThe PRECISE-DAPT score in the no bleeding, BARC = 1 bleeding, BARC ≥ 2 bleeding patients was 23.55 ± 10.46, 23.23 ± 10.03, and 33.54 ± 14.33 (p < 0.001), respectively. Meanwhile, the ABO score in the three groups was 0.72 ± 0.80, 0.69 ± 0.81, and 1.49 ± 0.99 (p < 0.001), respectively. The C-statistic of the PRECISE-DAPT model for prediction of BARC ≥ 2 bleeding in overall patients was 0.717 (95% CI, 0.656–0.777) and 0.720 (95% CI, 0.656–0.784) in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients. Similar discriminatory capacity was demonstrated in the ABO risk score [overall, patients, AUC: 0.712 (95% CI, 0.650–0.774); ACS patients, AUC: 0.703 (95% CI, 0.634–0.772)]. No differences were observed when the ABO model was in comparison with the PRECISE-DAPT model, regardless in overall patients (z = −0.199, p = 0.842) or ACS patients (z = −0.605, p = 0.545). The calibration for BARC ≥ 2 bleeding of the PRECISE-DAPT and ABO score were acceptable, regardless in overall patients [goodness-of-fit (GOF) Chi-square = 0.432 and 0.001, respectively; p-value = 0.806 and 0.999, respectively] or ACS patients (GOF Chi-square = 0.008 and 0.580, respectively; p-value = 0.996 and 0.748, respectively).ConclusionNo matter of clinical presentation in Asian 65-years older patients with DAPT, the PRECISE-DAPT, and ABO scores had the similar discriminative ability for 12-months BARC ≥ 2 bleeding. Considering the simplicity and reliability, the PRECISE-DAPT score might be more clinically applicable in the overall population and ACS patients in bleeding prediction.

Abstract Background Many previous studies lack sufficient quantitative evidences about changes in biomechanical properties of the knee in response to proximal fibular osteotomy (PFO). Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the preoperative and postoperative effects of PFO on mechanical stresses in the knee joint and provide with a biomechanical basis for PFO in the treatment of mild knee osteoarthritis (KOA) with varus deformity. Methods A total of 10 patients suffering mild KOA with varus deformity were enrolled in this study. Their image data from computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were used for finite element models, and PFO models were established. Static structural analysis was carried out using ABAQUS to compare the von Mises stress distribution and values of the maximal von Mises stress of femoral cartilage, meniscuses, tibial cartilages, and tibial plateau before and after surgery. Results The stress distribution in the cortical bone of the tibial plateau showed that stresses were transferred from the anterior medial area to the posterior medial area after PFO. Values of the maximal von Mises stress in femoral cartilage, medial meniscus, medial tibial cartilage, and tibial plateau after surgery were significantly lower than the preoperative values, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Postoperative values of the maximal von Mises stress of lateral meniscus and lateral tibial cartilage were significantly higher than the preoperative ones, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion PFO could reduce the stresses in the medial compartment of the knee joint with stress pathways transferring from the anterior medial area to the posterior medial area of the tibial plateau. Therefore, PFO is recommended for the treatment of mild KOA with varus deformity featuring favorably pain-relieving effects. Graphical abstract

By using the image processing, speech recognition and relative sensors based on the intelligent terminals, the system accomplishes six functions: sports statistics, heart rate measurement, drug manager, intelligent navigation home and reminder, SOS voice for help and kitchen reminder. Experiments show that it can provide health analysis and safe tutelage for the elderly comprehensively and accurately.

Abstract Background Amplification of 3q26 is one of the most frequent genetic alterations in many human malignancies. Recently, we isolated a novel oncogene eIF-5A2 within the 3q26 region. Functional study has demonstrated the oncogenic role of eIF-5A2 in the initiation and progression of human cancers. In the present study, we aim to investigate the physiological and pathological effect of eIF-5A2 in an eIF-5A2 transgenic mouse model. Methods An eIF-5A2 transgenic mouse model was generated using human eIF-5A2 cDNA. The eIF-5A2 transgenic mice were characterized by histological and immunohistochemistry analyses. The aging phenotypes were further characterized by wound healing, bone X-ray imaging and calcification analysis. Mouse embryo fibroblasts (MEF) were isolated to further investigate molecular mechanism of eIF-5A2 in aging. Results Instead of resulting in spontaneous tumor formation, overexpression of eIF-5A2 accelerated the aging process in adult transgenic mice. This included decreased growth rate and body weight, shortened life span, kyphosis, osteoporosis, delay of wound healing and ossification. Investigation of the correlation between cellular senescence and aging showed that cellular senescence is not required for the aging phenotypes in eIF-5A2 mice. Interestingly, we found that activation of eIF-5A2 repressed p19 level and therefore destabilized p53 in transgenic mouse embryo fibroblast (MEF) cells. This subsequently allowed for the accumulation of chromosomal instability, such as errors in cell dividing during metaphase and anaphase. Additionally, a significantly increase in number of aneuploidy cells (p < 0.05) resulted from an increase in the incidences of misaligned and lagging chromosomal materials, anaphase bridges, and micronuclei in the transgenic mice. Conclusion These observations suggest that eIF-5A2 mouse models could accelerate organismal aging by increasing chromosome instability.

Abstract Background By using cDNA microarray analysis, we identified a G protein-coupled receptor, GPR39, that is significantly up-regulated in ESCC. The aim of this study is to investigate the role of GPR39 in human esophageal cancer development, and to examine the prevalence and clinical significance of GPR39 overexpression in ESCC. Methods The mRNA expression level of GPR39 was analyzed in 9 ESCC cell lines and 50 primary ESCC tumors using semi-quantitative RT-PCR. Immunohistochemistry was used to assess GPR39 protein expression in tissue arrays containing 300 primary ESCC cases. In vitro and in vivo studies were done to elucidate the tumorigenic role of GPR39 in ESCC cells. Results We found that GPR39 was frequently overexpressed in primary ESCCs in both mRNA level (27/50, 54%) and protein level (121/207, 58.5%), which was significantly associated with the lymph node metastasis and advanced TNM stage (P < 0.01). Functional studies showed that GPR39 has a strong tumorigenic ability. Introduction of GPR39 gene into ESCC cell line KYSE30 could promote cell proliferation, increase foci formation, colony formation in soft agar, and tumor formation in nude mice. The mechanism by which amplified GPR39 induces tumorigenesis was associated with its role in promoting G1/S transition via up-regulation of cyclin D1 and CDK6. Further study found GPR39 could enhance cell motility and invasiveness by inducing EMT and remodeling cytoskeleton. Moreover, depletion of endogenous GPR39 by siRNA could effectively decrease the oncogenicity of ESCC cells. Conclusions The present study suggests that GPR39 plays an important tumorigenic role in the development and progression of ESCC.
