Abstract

Selected Caribbean countries were examined to compare their experiences in terms of sigma and beta convergence. Sigma convergence is a measure of the reduction of the dispersion of the real per capita income while beta convergence is the catch up economic growth of these Caribbean states. Results reveal a weak evidence for both types of convergence but this evidence appears spurious taken in a background of instability and divergence.
