The advancement of electrical technology is inextricably linked to advances in material science. Functional materials, which are a subset of the large range of materials accessible today, provide a unique opportunity for the development of innovative equipment and materials. This paradigm introduces a new class of functional materials, multi-ferroics (MFs), which integrate two or more separate ferroic orders (ferromagnetic, ferroelectric) in a single phase and are used in a variety of scenarios. In relation to multi-ferroism, large classes of materials known as magneto-electrics, which allow for electric control of magnetization or inversely, have attracted attention. Concern motivated by long-term technical objectives seems to have a recent renaissance. This study focuses on the fundamental knowledge of MFs and ME materials utilizing a holistic approach to identify the fundamental factors involved for coupling, their applications in certain unique devices, new prospects, and prospective issues.
