INTRODUCCIÓN: Los objetivos del desarrollo sostenible nos invita a cuidar el planeta y asegurar la prosperidad para todos. Frente a los cambiantes patrones de producción y consumo en torno al agua, energía y alimentos, resulta de gran interés estudiar la disponibilidad alimentaria, con el fin de implementar acciones que lleven a garantizar las necesidades de la población, permitiendo el desarrollo sustentable sin comprometer las generaciones futuras1,2. El objetivo del trabajo fue determinar la proporción de alimentos de origen vegetal (AOV) en relación al suministro total de energía para Argentina, Chile y Uruguay e inspeccionar su evolución en los últimos 60 años. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: estudio descriptivo, longitudinal. La proporción de AOV en la disponibilidad total de energía se consideró como el suministro de energía (kcal/persona/día) de los siguientes grupos de alimentos: cereales, tubérculos, legumbres, frutas, verduras, aceites, semillas, frutas secas y azúcar (excepto miel). Dicha información se extrajo de las Hojas de Balance de Alimentos (HBA), instrumento diseñado y elaborado por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas, para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO), a partir de información estadística confiable disponible desde su sitio web3. Se consideró el período de 1961, 1990 y 2020 de las HBA para Argentina, Chile y Uruguay. Se tomaron estos años como referencia por la existencia de información proveniente de estos años y tomando ciclos de 30 años para evaluar posibles cambios en la disponibilidad alimentaria. CONSIDERACIONES ÉTICAS: los datos fueron extraídos de fuentes secundarias, todas las bases de datos son de dominio público y no requiere evaluación de comité de ética. RESULTADOS: El suministro de energía promedio durante el 2020 en los tres países fue 3232 ±95,1 Kcal/persona/día. En relación a la proporción de energía proveniente de AOV, fue mayor en Chile y Uruguay (68%), mientras que Argentina presentó un porcentaje menor (65,1%). El grupo de los cereales fue el que aportó la mayor cantidad de energía de AOV. La contribución de AOV a la energía total, aumentó en Uruguay y en Argentina, 14,5% y 2,8% respectivamente y disminuyó en Chile 9,6% entre 1961 y 2020. CONCLUSIONES: Si bien se evidenciaría algún incremento de disponibilidad de AOV principalmente en Uruguay, se requiere continuar trabajando en nuevas estrategias que garanticen la seguridad alimentaria y nutricional y permitan la conservación de recursos naturales.

Por la Presente ponemos a su disposición un resumen de las actividades académicas - científicas realizadas en el marco del "Congreso Internacional de Desarrollo Sostenible, avances y procesos desde la alimentación y nutrición" realizado el 23, 24 y 25 de agosto de 2023 en la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad Católica de Córdoba. Este evento científico se planificó en torno a cuatro ejes: • Producción respetuosa con el medio ambiente • Cuidado con el medio ambiente hacia el 2030 • Nutrición sostenible • Mirada interdisciplinaria de estilos de vida.

Investigating the complex interactions between microbiota and immunity is crucial for a fruitful understanding progress of human health and disease. This review assesses animal models, next-generation in vitro models, and in silico approaches that are used to decipher the microbiome-immunity axis, evaluating their strengths and limitations. While animal models provide a comprehensive biological context, they also raise ethical and practical concerns. Conversely, modern in vitro models reduce animal involvement but require specific costs and materials. When considering the environmental impact of these models, in silico approaches emerge as promising for resource reduction, but they require robust experimental validation and ongoing refinement. Their potential is significant, paving the way for a more sustainable and ethical future in microbiome-immunity research.

Introduction. Nutritional profiling systems (NPS) are mainly used in front-end labeling policies in order to make the purchase and consumption choice conscious and healthy. Objetive. This study systematically reviewed evidence from interventions on the effect of NPS in the front-of- package on food purchases. Materials and methods. A bibliographic search was carried out in electronic sources from Medline, Elsevier, Scielo and Lilacs, of experimental studies and intervention between 2012 and 2022. A total of 14 articles were included in the review. They were analyzed according to the intervention modality used: 4 studies analyzed the effect of NPS in a real purchase situation and 10 evaluated purchase perception/intention. Results. According to the modality of intervention, the 6 studies that analyzed the NPS-warning system, all recorded healthier purchases compared to the control groups. While for the NPS-NutriScore, Health Star Rating and Multiple Traffic Lights were effective in the decision to purchase healthier foods, in 5 of 7 studies for the first NPS, in 4 of 7 for the second and in 4 of 8 for the third, compared with control groups. Conclusions. Findings of this study suggest that NPSs may be effective for healthy purchase choices, even so it is necessary to strengthen the system and policies with nutritional food education campaigns.

BackgroundInfant leukemia is a rare form of acute leukemia diagnosed prior to the age of 1 and is characterized by an extremely poor prognosis due to its dismal response to current therapeutic approaches. It comprises about 4% of all childhood cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Isolated initial cutaneous involvement in ALL is uncommon, and even more so in infant ALL.Case presentationHere, we present the case of a 2-month-old healthy-appearing infant, initially presenting with a single scalp nodule and subsequently diagnosed with an infant ALL. The leukemia was characterized by the most immature B-lineage immunophenotype [pro-B ALL/B-I, according to the European Group for the Immunological Characterization of Leukaemias (EGIL) classification] and chromosomal translocation t(9;11)(p22;q23), resulting in fusion gene KMTLA2::MLLT3, which is considered a negative prognostic factor. The patient underwent hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and is still in remission.ConclusionsThis case is peculiar because of the rare occurrence of isolated initial cutaneous involvement in ALL. Despite the healthy appearance of the patient, every suspicious symptom suggestive of malignancies should be further investigated to anticipate the diagnosis and start treatment early.

This work shows the performance of LincoSim, a web-based virtual towing tank enabling automated and standardized calm water computational fluid dynamics (CFD) data sampling, extending previous published applications to the case of a high-speed hull. The calculations are performed for a 1:10 scale model of a 43 ft powerboat hull form in the Froude number range from 0.3 to 2.0. The counterpart physical model is the experimental fluid dynamics (EFD) campaign performed at the University of Naples Federico II, where the resistance, sinkage and trim data have been measured. The EFD/CFD data comparison is performed and shown with a discussion of the spotted differences. The average percentage differences between the EFD and CFD data for the whole speed range are 1.84, 6.87 and 6.94 for the resistance, dynamic trim, and sinkage, respectively. These results confirm the maturity of the standardized and automated CFD modeling for calm water hydrodynamic analysis included in LincoSim, even at very high Froude numbers. The wetted length of the keel and chine and the wetted surface are calculated from numerical data using the advanced post-processing. Finally, as a work in progress, we test a first comparison for the same hull of the EFD and CFD data, considering two seakeeping conditions for head waves at a given wavelength for two velocity conditions. Also, this kind of analysis confirms the tight correlation between the measured and computed outcomes. This synergic interplay of EFD and CFD can link the advantages of both methods to support hull design but also requires experiment planning and final data analysis to obtain physical parameters not easily measurable in laboratory, such as the wetted surface, wetted lengths, proper viscous contribution, and pressure distribution both in calm water and in waves.

Background: In adult oncology, the practice of tracking symptoms and toxicities using patient-reported outcomes (PROs) has increased and correlates with increased survival. In contrast, symptom monitoring using PROs is not common in pediatric oncology. Only in the last couple of years attention has also been paid to the patient’s perception in pediatrics and listening to the voice of children and to making them participate in the treatment. Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted in MEDLINE/PubMed and PsycINFO to identify relevant articles published through December 2022. Results: From 58 non-duplicate articles, 33 met our eligibility criteria. Of these, 17 were used in clinical trials. Conclusions: The dissemination and use of these tools will therefore have surprising repercussions on the control of pain and physical symptoms of small patients as well as on physical and psychological aspects. The administration and use of the PROs ensures optimal use of the drugs currently present in clinical trials by researcher and nurse and aims at a safer and more controlled approval of new drugs.

Abstract Background The need to more collaboratively measure the impact of health research and to do so from multidimensional perspectives has been acknowledged. A scorecard was developed as part of the Collective Research Impact Framework (CRIF), to engage stakeholders in the assessment of the impacts of health research and innovations. The purpose of this study was to describe the developmental process of the MULTI-ACT Master Scorecard (MSC) and how it can be used as a workable tool for collectively assessing future responsible research and innovation measures. Methods An extensive review of the health research impact literature and of multistakeholder initiatives resulted in a database of 1556 impact indicators. The MSC was then cocreated by engaging key stakeholders and conducting semi-structured interviews of experts in the field. Results The MSC consists of five accountability dimensions: excellence, efficacy, economic, social and patient-reported outcomes. The tool contains 125 potential indicators, classified into 53 impact measurement aspects that are considered the most relevant topics for multistakeholder research and innovation initiatives when assessing their impact on the basis of their mission and their stakeholders’ interests. The scorecard allows the strategic management of multistakeholder research initiatives to demonstrate their impact on people and society. The value of the tool is that it is comprehensive, customizable and easy to use. Conclusions The MSC is an example of how the views of society can be taken into account when research impacts are assessed in a more sustainable and balanced way. The engagement of patients and other stakeholders is an integral part of the CRIF, facilitating collaborative decision-making in the design of policies and research agendas. In policy making, the collective approach allows the evaluation perspective to be extended to the needs of society and towards responsible research and innovation. Multidimensionality makes research and innovations more responsive to systemic challenges, and developing more equitable and sustainable health services.

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has unmasked even more clearly the need for research and care to form a unique and interdependent ecosystem, a concept which has emerged in recent years. In fact, to address urgent and unexpected missions such as “fighting all together the COVID-19 pandemic”, the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration, mission-oriented governance and flexibility has been demonstrated with great efficacy. This calls for a policy integration strategy and implementation of responsible research and innovation principles in health, promoting an effective cooperation between science and society towards a shared mission. This article describes the MULTI-ACT framework and discusses how its innovative approach, encompassing governance criteria, patient engagement and multidisciplinary impact assessment, represents a holistic management model for structuring responsible research and innovation participatory governance in brain conditions research.

INTRODUCCIÓN: El Sistema de Perfilado Nutricional (SPN) NutriScore a través de su etiquetado frontal permite a los consumidores realizar un juicio rápido de la calidad nutricional de los alimentos, favoreciendo elecciones alimentarias más saludables. OBJETIVO: Determinar el nivel de comprensión del SPN NutriScore para las elecciones alimentarias y su asociación con el nivel educativo, de los referentes beneficiarios de la Fundación Banco de Alimentos de Córdoba (FBAC), en la Ciudad de Córdoba durante 2020. MATERIALES Y METODOS: Estudio observacional, analítico, de corte transversal. Participaron 45 referentes beneficiarios de FBAC. Se utilizó una encuesta validada, estructurada y administrada por entrevistador. El instrumento fue adaptado a los patrones alimentarios de la población Argentina, seleccionando 3 categorías de alimentos comúnmente consumidos y de diferentes calidades nutricionales. El análisis de los datos se realizó con Stata v14. Para las variables categóricas se utilizaron frecuencias relativas y absolutas; mientras que para variables continuas se usaron medidas de posición central y dispersión. El presente volumen de Studia Heideggeriana recoge una selección de trabajos leídos en el IV Congreso Internacional de la Sociedad Iberoamericana de Estudios Heideggerianos, realizado en la Universidad Nacional de San Martín (Argentina) durante el mes de septiembre de 2017. El tema convocante fue “Tiempo y espacio”. Se trata de una temática que recorre toda la obra de Heidegger y que, por lo tanto, posibilita articular una clave de lectura de casi toda la red conceptual del pensamiento heideggeriano. A su vez, a este número se suman otras contribuciones que en esta línea, y en su conjunto, dan testimonio de la productividad conceptual de este problema.

The fatigue delamination process of three different aeronautical quality composites subject to mode III fracture loading is studied experimentally in this paper with the aim of analysing the effect of the type of matrix used under this fatigue fracture mode. In all cases, the main difference between the composite materials considered in this study is the type of epoxy resin used as the matrix.The test method used to produce the delamination process under mode III fracture is known as the Longitudinal Half Fixed Beam (LHFB) method, used in previous studies by the authors, which was shown to be a valid method for generating the delamination process in composite sheet materials subject to mode III fatigue loading.The experimental data from the fatigue tests were treated with a probabilistic model based on the Weibull distribution. This model facilitates the identification of relevant aspects of the fatigue behaviour of these materials, such as the estimation of fatigue strength for periods of time greater than those tested here, as well as the reliability of the results.The results thus obtained reflect important differences in the fatigue behaviour of the materials under study, the type of matrix being the predominant parameter of the fracture process under mode III loading. Background: Traumatic Events (TEs) are often seen as risk factors not only for the development of eating disorders (EDs) but also for their impact on the severity of clinical presentation and psychiatric comorbidities. Objective: This study aimed to assess the prevalence and time of occurrence of TEs in the two subtypes of anorexia nervosa (AN; restricting [RAN] and binge-purging [BPAN]) and to investigate differences in TEs (number, type, frequency) as well as clusters of post-traumatic symptoms and emotional dysregulation between the two groups. Method: Seventy-seven hospitalized women were recruited and divided into two subgroups according to their AN subtype. Participants completed the following self-reported measures: Eating Disorder Inventory-2 (EDI-2), Life Events Checklist (LEC), Impact of Events Scale-Revised (IES-R) and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS). Results: A higher occurrence of TEs was found in patients with BPAN than in those with RAN. In particular, there were significantly more women in the BPAN group than in the RAN group who had been sexually assaulted. Exposure to TEs happened before the onset of illness in most patients, regardless of the AN subtype. Finally, the BPAN group had significantly higher scores in terms of post-traumatic symptoms and emotional dysregulation than RAN patients. Conclusions: Patients with BPAN showed a higher occurrence of TEs, post-traumatic symptom clusters, and emotional dysregulation than those with RAN. These findings are of interest as treatments could benefit from trauma-informed interventions for those affected by AN, and particularly for those with the binge-purging subtype.

This paper compares the world´s phenomenology in Sein und Zeit with the meditation on the fourhold in the conference Das Ding. The goal of this comparison is to show how the argumentation focuses in 1927 in the Worumwillen and how moves in 1949 to the notion of schenken. This displacement, that takes out the tool of the Worumwillen´s context and places it in another that doesn´t guide by «an anthropological figure», can be characterized as a privative modus of praxis, i. e. alost of pragmatically function. The jug´s Give (schenken) express the idea that the tool doesn´t requires another purpose than its own give himself.

Las finalidades de las Ciencias Sociales son diversas, podemos mencionar las culturales, las de carácter científico, aquellas relacionadas con cuestiones intelectuales, de acciones vinculadas con lo práctico, de aspecto político y de desarrollo personal. Para formar el pensamiento social debemos estimular una profunda comprensión del pasado como del presente. Analizar la complejidad de la realidad buscando conocer las decisiones políticas y socio económicas, como también las matrices que propiciaron la construcción socio histórico local – regional. Los cambios en la relación sociedad naturaleza son motivo de preocupación para algunas miradas que observan la gravedad de los problemas de deterioro ambiental que afecta a todo el planeta y algunas regiones en particular. En todos los territorios la actividad que la sociedad realiza provoca diversas complicaciones en su relación con la naturaleza. En consecuencia una investigación sobre la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de la temática ambiental es clave para poder tomar decisiones fundamentadas al momento de argumentar propositivamente en relación a las prácticas áulicas. Es pertinente preguntarse ¿Qué conocimientos, sobre las problemáticas socio ambientales construyen los estudiantes del profesorado en educación primaria? ¿Están presentes en sus propuestas áulicas las problemáticas socios ambientales? ¿Explicitan las finalidades por las cuales trabajan las problemáticas socios ambientales en sus prácticas áulicas? Desde una perspectiva cualitativa y crítica examinamos el contenido curricular de las ciencias sociales y su didáctica, las producciones del estudiantado y el conocimiento, proponiéndonos realizar una indagación sobre los problemas de la enseñanza y el aprendizaje del triángulo didáctico, estudiantes, profesores y los conocimientos escolares.

This paper reviews a state-of-the-art zero emission propulsion system for a battery-powered small craft. The main aspects considered are the available propulsion systems, energy storage, and dock battery charging. This underlying activity is part of the KISS project, a research and development program in the frame of the EU-funded “Piano Operativo Regionale CALABRIA FESR-FSE 2014–2020 ASSE I–PROMOZIONEDELLA RICERCA E DELL’INNOVAZIONE”, which is aimed at designing and building a physical prototype. Its hull form is based on previous research conducted by the authors, and the powering performances were preliminarily predicted by CFD simulation. The KISS project represents a successful example of an electric small craft with performances and a mission profile comparable to competitors with conventional propulsion. Such a target has been achieved by a concurrent design that considers the hull form, engine, propulsion system, and energy storage onboard. Safety issues and the regulatory frame are also highlighted.

Changes in cellular ion levels can modulate distinct signaling networks aimed at correcting major disruptions in ion balances that might otherwise threaten cell growth and development. Salt-inducible kinase 1 (SIK1) and salt overly sensitive 2 (SOS2) are key protein kinases within such networks in mammalian and plant cells, respectively. In animals, SIK1 expression and activity are regulated in response to the salt content of the diet, and in plants SOS2 activity is controlled by the salinity of the soil. The specific ionic stress (elevated intracellular sodium) is followed by changes in intracellular calcium; the calcium signals are sensed by calcium-binding proteins and lead to activation of SIK1 or SOS2. These kinases target major plasma membrane transporters such as the Na+,K+-ATPase in mammalian cells, and Na+/H+ exchangers in the plasma membrane and membranes of intracellular vacuoles of plant cells. Activation of these networks prevents abnormal increases in intracellular sodium concentration.
