Adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (AOT) is always benign. Given the very rare recurrence rate and the zero potential of malignant transformation, authors have considered it a hamartoma. Accordingly, 'AOT' is no more than a misnomer. This report, however, describes the first recognition of cellular atypia and plemorphism in a peripheral orophayrngeal AOT which embraces an ameloblastic component. The overall picture was diagnosed, after careful histological and immunohitochemical assessment, as a peripheral adenoid ameloblastoma. This find may promote a new pathogenetic scenario to the nosology of this debatable lesion.

This paper reports a very rare case of isolated ulcerative lesion of the palate in a patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The patient refused to run any radiological tests, other than the periapical radiograph. This rendered the diagnostic dilemma more challenging. Through histochemical and immunohsitochemical stains, the case could be non-invasively diagnosed as caliber-persistent artery. All differential diagnoses were excluded based on concrete findings.

Differences in the behaviour of matter and antimatter have been observed in $K$ and $B$ meson decays, but not yet in any baryon decay. Such differences are associated with the non-invariance of fundamental interactions under the combined charge-conjugation and parity transformations, known as $C\!P$ violation. Using data from the LHCb experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, a search is made for $C\!P$-violating asymmetries in the decay angle distributions of $\Lambda^0_b$ baryons decaying to $p\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-$ and $p\pi^-K^+K^-$ final states. These four-body hadronic decays are a promising place to search for sources of $C\!P$ violation both within and beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. We find evidence for $C\!P$ violation in $\Lambda^0_b$ to $p\pi^-\pi^+\pi^-$ decays with a statistical significance corresponding to 3.3 standard deviations including systematic uncertainties. This represents the first evidence for $C\!P$ violation in the baryon sector., Comment: All figures and tables, along with any supplementary material and additional information, are available at https://lhcbproject.web.cern.ch/lhcbproject/Publications/LHCbProjectPublic/LHCb-PAPER-2016-030.html

ZrO2-based composites with WC addition can be successfully machined by electrical discharge machining (EDM) in demineralised water. ZrO2 composites with 40 vol.% WC were produced from nanocrystalline and micrometre sized WC starting powders in order to compare their tribological behaviour. Friction and wear data are obtained on wire-EDM’ed ZrO2–WC composite flats sliding against a WC–Co cemented carbide pin using a small-scale pin-on-plate testing rig. Correlations between wear volume, wear rate and friction coefficient on the one hand and material properties and test conditions on the other hand were elucidated. The experimental results revealed that the grain size of the electro-conductive WC-phase exhibits a strong influence on the friction and wear behaviour of the ZrO2-based composite.

The performance of ternary electroless deposited Ni–P–W and Ni–P–alumina composite coatings on low carbon steel substrates was studied. The effect of experimental parameters, such as temperature, pH, nickel sulfate concentration, sodium hypophosphite concentration, sodium citrate concentration, and deposition time on the deposition rate were investigated. The coating brightness, coherence, and uniform surface distribution were improved due to addition of W and alumina. The coating performance was evaluated based on the wear-resistance, micro-hardness, and corrosion resistance. The Ni–P–W ternary alloy coatings showed the highest micro hardness, wear-resistance, brightness, and corrosion resistance. The improvement in the performance of Ni–P–W coatings can be explained by the formation of a tungsten phosphide phase.

New, large-scale collections have been made of marine benthic macroalgae (seaweeds) on the east coast of South Africa, and the distributions of shallow-water species were analyzed in detail by multivariate, clustering and β-diversity methods. The two northernmost sites are distinct, with a predominance of tropical species, and it is concluded that the changeover from a tropical Indian Ocean flora to a temperate South African flora occurs most rapidly in the vicinity of St. Lucia, 135 km south of the Mozambique border. It is imperative that all future biogeographical studies on the South African inshore marine biota include detailed collections north of St. Lucia. The remaining 440 km of the South African east coast (southern and central Kwazulu-Natal Province) is populated by a mixture of tropical and temperate elements, with only 2% endemism in this data set. This, thus, represents a true overlap region, with relatively equal numbers of species with affinities in the temperate Agulhas and tropical Indo–West Pacific floras, rather than a distinctive sub-tropical marine province, as the South African east coast is considered to be by most previous authors. The distinction between this overlap region and the south coast (Agulhas) region proper is not as clearly distinct. The change from a temperate to a tropical flora shows a relative increase in green algae from 15% to 25% of the species present. Criteria for the delineation of marine biogeographical regions are critically discussed, and it is concluded that the monitoring of distributions of all species, including rare species, is necessary. This is particularly relevant with regard to using these data to assess effects of potential changes in seawater temperature, including those which may be caused by global warming. Criteria for the delimitation of biogeographic entities such as "marine provinces" need to be clearly spelt out in all investigations.

The characteristics of the associated particles produced in 3.7 and 200A GeV 32 S -emulsion inelastic interactions are reported. The experimental data at 3.7 A GeV are compared with the predictions of the standard cascading evaporation model. For explaining the results at higher energy (200A GeV), a simple model which includes the nucleon sub-structure (Reggeon model) is introduced. This model is found to be capable of producing the mean features of the data obtained for the two used exposures.

- Abstract
Meeting requirements for dietary proteins, especially of essential amino acids (EAAs), is critical for the life-long health of living organisms. However, defining EAA targets for preparing biologically-matched nutrition that satisfies metabolic requirements for protein remains challenging. Previous research has shown the advantages of 'exome matching' in representing the specific requirement of dietary AAs, where the target dietary AA profile was derived from in silico translation of the genome of an organism, specifically responsible for protein expression (the 'exome'). However, past studies have assessed these effects in only one sex, for few parameters (body mass and composition), and have used purified diets in which protein is supplied as a mixture of individual AAs. Here, for the first time, we utilise a computational method to guide the formulation of custom protein blends and test if exome matching can be achieved at the intact protein level, through blending standard protein ingredients, ultimately leading to optimal growth, longevity and reproductive function. Mice were provided ad libitum (ad lib) access to one of the four iso-energetic protein-limited diets, two matched and two mis-matched to the mouse exome target, and fed at a fixed protein energy level of 6.2%. During or following 13-weeks of feeding, the food intake, body growth, composition and reproductive functions were measured. Compared to the two mis-matched diets, male and female animals on the exome-matched diet with protein digestibility correction applied, exhibited significantly improved growth rates and final body mass. The feed conversion efficiency in the same diet was also increased by 62% and 40% over the worst diets for males and females, respectively. Male, not female, exhibited higher accretion of lean body mass with the matched, digestibility-corrected diet. All reproductive function measures in both sexes were comparable among diets, with the exception of testicular daily sperm production in males, which was higher in the two matched diets versus the mis-matched diets. The results collectively demonstrate the pronounced advantages of exome-matching in supporting body growth and improving feed conversion efficiency in both sexes. However, the potential impact of this approach in enhancing fertility needs further investigation., Competing Interests: Declaration of Competing Interest The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper., (Copyright © 2023 The Authors. - Abstract
This find may promote a new pathogenetic scenario to the nosology of this debatable lesion., (© Copyright Società Italiana di Anatomia Patologica e Citopatologia Diagnostica, Divisione Italiana della International Academy of Pathology.)

- Abstract
This paper reports a very rare case of isolated ulcerative lesion of the palate in a patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The patient refused to run any radiological tests, other than the periapical radiograph. This rendered the diagnostic dilemma more challenging. Through histochemical and immunohsitochemical stains, the case could be non-invasively diagnosed as caliber-persistent artery. All differential diagnoses were excluded based on concrete findings., (© Copyright Società Italiana di Anatomia Patologica e Citopatologia Diagnostica, Divisione Italiana della International Academy of Pathology.)

- Abstract
Background: Presently, there are no medications approved by regulatory bodies for the treatment of noncystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB). In addition, most techniques/devices to enhance mucociliary clearance in NCFB have not been rigorously evaluated. Therefore, we performed a Delphi study of clinical experts concerning the treatment of NCFB., Methods: Ten individuals with extensive experience with NCFB participated. Questions were posed concerning pharmacotherapy and mucocilary clearance techniques for NCFB. Iterative questioning and feedback from previous responses were used with an aim to reach consensus. Consensus was defined as ≥70% agreement of the experts., Results: The experts reached consensus concerning several issues including: (1) 10 to 14 days duration of antibiotics for exacerbations of NCFB, (2) Combination antibiotics should not be given for acute exacerbations of NCFB regardless of history of pseudomonas colonization, (3) some type of airway clearance technique should be used for stable NCFB, (4) recommended treatment end points for NCFB include sputum volume, sputum color and exacerbation frequency and (5) recombinant DNA-ase and inhaled corticosteroids should not be routinely used for NCFB. There was some inconsistency in expert responses between the 2 rounds of questions, suggesting that even NCFB experts do not have a completely consistent approach to treatment., Conclusions: NCFB experts reached consensus on several treatment issues. In the absence of rigorous medical evidence, these data supply support for these approaches. Several questions posed to the experts did not reach consensus. We would classify these issues as "controversial" and suggest that they are important areas for future research.
