An invisible layer of knowledge is progressively growing with the emergence of situated visualizations and reality-based information retrieval systems. In essence, digital content will overlap with real-world entities, eventually providing insights into the surrounding environment and useful information for the user. The implementation of such a vision may appear close, but many subtle details separate us from its fulfillment. This kind of implementation, as the overlap between rendered virtual annotations and the camera's real-world view, requires different computer vision paradigms for object recognition and tracking which often require high computing power and large-scale datasets of images. Nevertheless, these resources are not always available, and in some specific domains, the lack of an appropriate reference dataset could be disruptive for a considered task. In this particular scenario, we here consider the problem of wine recognition to support an augmented reading of their labels. In fact, images of wine bottle labels may not be available as wineries periodically change their designs, product information regulations may vary, and specific bottles may be rare, making the label recognition process hard or even impossible. In this work, we present augmented wine recognition, an augmented reality system that exploits optical character recognition paradigms to interpret and exploit the text within a wine label, without requiring any reference image. Standardization makes its contributions to many aspects of our lives, although often that contribution is unnoticed. For example, management standards, such as the ISO 9000 family, establish a common ground perspective that enlarges companies' markets and boosts its international reaching, technological development, and innovation while supporting continuous quality improvement in products and services both at a national and international level. Notwithstanding the recognized relevance of some management standards, especially the ones that have an associated certification system to support its knowledge (e.g., ISO 9000 family), little is known about the impact of the standards (e.g., ISO 21500 family) adoption in increasing organizations' performance regarding, for instance, quality, safety, efficiency, or interoperability. This hinders the standards' dissemination and potential use and unnecessarily delays its revision and further development. To help fill this gap, this position paper proposes a research project that includes the development of a model and an observatory focusing on the adoption of management standards. The expected contributions are: 1) at a theoretical level, a new conceptual model for the explanation and assessment of the adoption of management standards and related impacts; 2) at a practical level, a new information system (observatory) which is expected to be a tool for understanding the adoption of standards, as well as for monitoring and publicizing the results obtained from standardization practices. Information recording and encryption/decryption functions are essential due to the prevalence of counterfeiting activities and information leakage in the current age. However, the development of high‐resolution information recording and multistage information protection systems to achieve high data security levels, such as self‐erasing encrypted data and time‐controlled data handling, remains limited. Herein, inspired by the information‐recording structure of paper, a multiresponsive nanofiber‐reinforced poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) hydrogel (NCPN hydrogel) with improved mechanical properties, solvent‐induced high‐resolution reversible information recording, self‐encryption, and multi‐decryption capabilities, is proposed. Due to the unique hydrophilic and hydrophobic structures of the hydrogel matrix, ethanol and other polar analogs can be applied as special inks to record information by changing the lower critical solution temperature to achieve the repeatable transmittance variation. The recorded information can be erased via water wiping or ethanol volatilization. Additionally, self‐encryption can be achieved and adjusted based on the ethanol volatilization time and concentration difference, and confidential information can be further decrypted in a water environment or under a thermal stimulus. Furthermore, several stable, repeatable, and fast‐response hydrogel‐based information‐recognition systems are designed and investigated. Therefore, the designed hydrogel‐based informational platform provides a universal information‐handling system allowing for the reversible recording of information, with self‐encryption and multidecryption capabilities. The present paper is focused on the analysis of the possible differences related to the writing structures and strategies used in the abstracts and introductions of the academic journal World Literature Studies in the selected issue from 2018 and its papers published in English. The aim of the study was to determine whether the abstracts and introductions of the papers related to area of art and humanities followed and shared the features related to their structure which are accepted and preferred by the academic journals of higher ranks. The results of the analysis refer to growing tendency to employ such types of structures even in the research areas related to literature, culture or arts. On the other hand, the analysis revealed that in the indexed journal, World Literature Studies, the structure of the abstracts is not always unified, as some structures are omitted. Regarding that, the missing information is present and sometimes developed in the introductions. This is an important result of the research presented in this paper, as it illustrates the importance of the mutual relationship between academic abstracts and introductions when presenting the academic research. The evolution of Building Information Modelling (BIM) is transforming practice in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. BIM provided revolutionary ways of generating, visualizing, exchanging, predicting and monitoring information. Over the last decade, delivering sustainable projects has become a high priority along with the recognition of the role the BIM plays to improve efficiency. However, BIM-enabled sustainability practices are still relatively immature and inconsistent. Previous research has identified challenges in the delivery of green-rated buildings, that include: dealing with documentation, evidencing requirements, monitoring progress, and decision making. Limited studies focused on linking workflow obstacles of green projects to potential improvements using current BIM capabilities. Through interrogating existing research via a systematic literature review, this paper takes the original approach of constructing an 'analysis map' to 'bridge the gap' and highlight current limitations and successes between BIM and sustainability practices. The findings are formulated through two parallel investigation tracks: the first is design task/BIM capability analysis, and the second is green project delivery problem/BIM enabled sustainability application. This research highlights future potential investigation areas, which are categorized into six clusters: representation; performance simulation; transaction and exchange; documentation; automation and standardization and guidance. My Turn is software used to manage several Covid-19 mass vaccination campaigns in California. The objective of this article is to describe the use of My Turn at two points of dispensing in California and comment on process improvements to reduce manual tasks of six identified processes of vaccination–registration, scheduling, administration, documentation, follow-up, and digital vaccine record–and paper. We reviewed publicly available documents of My Turn and patients vaccinated at George R. Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco and Oakland Coliseum Community Vaccination Clinic. For publicly available documents of My Turn, we examined videos of My Turn on YouTube, and documentation from EZIZ, the website for the California Vaccines for Children Program. For patients, we examined publicly available vaccination record cards on Instagram and Google. At the George R. Moscone Convention Center, 329,608 vaccines doses were given. At the Oakland Coliseum Community Vaccination Clinic, more than 500,000 vaccine doses were administered. Abstract Short answer tests (SAT) are an assessment that examines nursing students' knowledge and can be used to evaluate expectations for student educational success. The purpose of this literature review is to combine the best available evidence as to whether short answer test papers meet nursing facility curricula learning outcomes. A literature review was performed consisting of data bases which included; ERIC, SCOPUS, CINAHL MEDLINE, COCHRANE LIBRARY and JOHANNA BIGGS INSTITUTE (JBI). The following keywords were used: Short answer test, written assessment, quiz, organisations, university, higher degree education, tertiary education, nursing, perceptions, attitude, opinions, thoughts, feeling and belief. The majority of studies demonstrated that short answer tests equip nursing students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills for the clinical setting. Three major themes were identified: the effects of increasing class sizes; authenticity and the validity of short answer tests. Short answer tests are commonly used in undergraduate nursing programs to evaluate students' level of knowledge which consists of their ability to critically analyse and problem solve. To maintain authenticity and validity of an assessment, there is a need for an evidence-based approach to their design to meet the core learning objectives within the curriculum. This introduction provides an overview to this special section and reports on the third Journal of Information Systems Conference (JISC 2018) held March 15 and 16, 2018 in Durham, NC. The conference was jointly sponsored by the AAA Accounting Information Systems (AIS) section and the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA). This JIS research will help advance cloud computing research related to the domain of accounting information systems. The conference included seven research papers with related industry discussant feedback, three cloud industry keynote speakers, and three panels of practitioners and researchers to discuss the impact of the emergence and rapid maturing of cloud computing services. This editors' introduction outlines the major research paper topics represented in this special section, briefly introduces each paper, and highlights their main contributions. Background: Inpatient nursing documentation facilitates multi‐disciplinary team care and tracking of patient progress. In both high‐ and low‐ and middle‐income settings, it is largely paper‐based and may be used as a template for electronic medical records. However, there is limited evidence on how they have been developed. Objective: To synthesise evidence on how paper‐based nursing records have been developed and implemented in inpatient settings to support documentation of nursing care. Design: A scoping review guided by the Arksey and O'Malley framework and reported using PRISMA‐ScR guidelines. Eligibility criteria: We included studies that described the process of designing paper‐based inpatient records and excluded those focussing on electronic records. Included studies were published in English up to October 2019. Sources of evidence: PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science and Cochrane supplemented by free‐text searches on Google Scholar and snowballing the reference sections of included papers. Results: 12 studies met the eligibility criteria. We extracted data on study characteristics, the development process and outcomes related to documentation of inpatient care. Studies reviewed followed a process of problem identification, literature review, chart (re)design, piloting, implementation and evaluation but varied in their execution of each step. All studies except one reported a positive change in inpatient documentation or the adoption of charts amid various challenges. Conclusions: The approaches used seemed to work for each of the studies but could be strengthened by following a systematic process. Human‐centred Design provides a clear process that prioritises the healthcare professional's needs and their context to deliver a usable product. Problems with the chart could be addressed during the design phase rather than during implementation, thereby promoting chart ownership and uptake since users are involved throughout the design. This will translate to better documentation of inpatient care thus facilitating better patient tracking, improved team communication and better patient outcomes. Relevance to clinical practice: Paper‐based charts should be designed in a systematic and clear process that considers patient's and healthcare professional's needs contributing to improved uptake of charts and therefore better documentation. Background: Small bowel obstruction (SBO) is a common surgical emergency, causing high morbidity and healthcare costs. The majority of SBOs are caused by adhesions that result from previous surgeries. Bowel obstruction, however, also occurs in patients without previous operation or known pathology, a so called virgin abdomen. It is unknown if small bowel obstruction in the virgin abdomen (SBO-VA) can be managed according to the same principles as other cases of small bowel obstruction. The aim of this position paper is to evaluate the available evidence on etiology and management of small bowel obstruction in the virgin abdomen. Methods: This is a narrative review with scoping aspects. Clinical topics covered in this review include epidemiology and etiology of SBO-VA, diagnosis and imaging, initial assessment, the role of surgical management in SBO-VA, and the role of non-operative management in SBO-VA. Results: Our scoping search revealed seven original studies reporting original patient data related to SBO-VA. All the included studies are retrospective cohorts, with populations ranging between 44 and 103 patients with SBO-VA. Adhesions were found to be the cause of the obstruction in approximately half of the reported cases of SBO-VA. A relatively high number of cases of SBO-VA were managed surgically with studies reporting 39–83%. However, in cases where a trial of non-operative management was started, this was generally successful. Conclusion: The data available suggest that etiology and treatment results for patients with SBO-VA are largely comparable to the results in patients with SBO after previous abdominal surgery. We therefore propose that patients with a virgin abdomen could be treated according to existing guidelines for SBO and adhesive small bowel obstruction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This is an invited commentary on a paper by Sen et al. (forthcoming). I explain how their paper provides a useful reminder of the need to communicate the practical importance of statistical findings more effectively and more often. I also explain how their recommendations address just a small piece of the issue of practical importance. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to identify, classify and analyse temporality in information systems development (ISD) literature. Design/methodology/approach: The authors address the temporality and ISD research gap by using a framework – which classifies time into three categories: conceptions of time, mapping activities to time and actors relating to time. The authors conduct a systematic literature review which investigates time in ISD within the Senior Scholars' Basket, Information Technology & People (IT&P), and top two information systems conferences over the past 20 years. The search strategy resulted in 9,850 studies of which 47 were identified as primary papers. Findings: The results reveal that ISD research is ill equipped for contemporary thinking around time. This systematic literature review (SLR) contributes to ISD by finding the following gaps in the literature: (1) clock time is dominant and all other types of time are under-researched; (2) contributions to mapping activities to time is lacking and existing studies focus on single ISD projects rather multiple complex ISD projects; (3) research on actors relating to time is lacking; (4) existing ISD studies which contribute to temporal characteristics are fragmented and lack integration with other categories of time and (5) ISD methodology papers lack contributions to temporal characteristics and fail to acknowledge and contribute to time as a multifaceted interrelated concept. Originality/value: This work has developed the first SLR on temporality in ISD. This document is an editorial note introducing a special issue of the journal Electronics on the topic of "Trends and Applications in Information Systems and Technologies." The note highlights the importance of information technologies in reshaping business models and improving operational efficiency. It also discusses the challenges associated with information systems, such as cybersecurity issues and data-centric decision-making processes. The special issue includes fourteen selected papers covering topics such as the adoption of blockchain technology, digital business solutions, ICT penetration, processing and information extraction in information systems, and innovative applications of information systems. The paper studied global research output (6700 publications) in the subfield "Linked Data", indexed in Scopus database during 1996-19, with a focus on the distribution of publications and collaborative linkages across major countries, organizations, authors, journals and disciplines. Linked Data global research output registered a 59.04% annual average growth rate and averaged to 7.21 citations per paper in 24 years. The study identified and analyzed the top 15 countries, 30 top organizations, 30 authors and the top 20 journals. The top 15 countries account for more than 100% share of global publications and citations during this period. The 2572 organizations and 6959 authors participated in global research on "Linked Data" research. The paper further provides an insight into the qualitative performance of the "Linked Data" sub-field, besides analyzing the distribution of publications across sub-fields and characteristics of high-cited research and also identifies important media of communications. The National University of Ireland and the University of Leipzig, Germany (with 286 and 194 papers each) have been the most productive organizations. The University of Mannheim, Germany (22.08 and 3.06) and Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, Germany (21.93 and 3.04) have been the most impactful organizations. E. Mannens (109 papers) and R. Verborgh (109 papers) have been productive authors. C. Bizer (193.19 and 26.79) and S. Hellmann (84.71 and 11.75) have been the most impactful authors. This paper analyzes the usage of vignettes as a narrative form in information systems (IS) research. A review of 48 papers from IS top journals with 119 vignettes exposes the versatile usage of vignettes as a narrative form and shows their usefulness in research communication. The paper conceptualizes vignette usage through a taxonomy and archetypes. Most academic researchers use the academic information system when they want to write a reference, such as a related research for a paper. Specific classification rules are applied based on vast amounts of data and the latest references to classify and search keywords. Meta information is designed for specific classification rules and search results are restructured. The search results can be classified and rearranged to suit academic research paper keywords by applying the restructured classification system and the LDA-based topic modeling technique. To implement this, the ElasticSearch classification method and topic-based LDA model were applied to extract the characteristics of academic papers in this study. Stable topics that could detect topic estimation and keyword search results within the minimum time were extracted to classify the paper search results. Focused Clinical Question: Is low-load exercise training with blood flow restriction (LL-BFR) more effective at increasing muscle strength compared to low-level (LL) or high-level (HL) exercise training in individuals with muscle weakness? Clinical Bottom Line: The results of the systematic review with meta-analysis concluded that there is evidence to support the belief that LL-BFR may increase muscle strength beyond LL exercise training alone, while HL training will produce greater strength increases compared to both LL-BFR and LL training. Many long-term geomagnetic observation results recorded on photographic bromide paper have not yet been fully digitized. To that end, we developed a method to automatically convert photographic records to one-minute digital data. We applied our method to the observation records of Kakioka Magnetic Observatory and confirmed that the resolution of time and amplitude could be greatly improved by numerical conversion compared with conventional data conversion by hand scaling. Citations based relevant research paper recommendations can be generated primarily with the assistance of three citation models: (1) Bibliographic Coupling, (2) Co-Citation, and (3) Direct Citations. Millions of new scholarly articles are published every year. This flux of scientific information has made it a challenging task to devise techniques that could help researchers to find the most relevant research papers for the paper at hand. In this study, we have deployed an in-text citation analysis that extends the Direct Citation Model to discover the nature of the relationship degree-ofrelevancy among scientific papers. For this purpose, the relationship between citing and cited articles is categorized into three categories: weak, medium, and strong. As an experiment, around 5,000 research papers were crawled from the CiteSeerX. These research papers were parsed for the identification of in-text citation frequencies. Subsequently, 0.1 million references of those articles were extracted, and their in-text citation frequencies were computed. A comprehensive benchmark dataset was established based on the user study. Afterwards, the results were validated with the help of Least Square Approximation by Quadratic Polynomial method. It was found that degreeof- relevancy between scientific papers is a quadratic increasing/decreasing polynomial with respect to-increase/decrease in the in-text citation frequencies of a cited article. Furthermore, the results of the proposed model were compared with state-of-the-art techniques by utilizing a well-known measure, known as the normalized Discount Cumulative Gain (nDCG). The proposed method received an nDCG score of 0.89, whereas the state-of-the-art models such as the Content, Bibliographic-coupling, and Metadata-based Models were able to acquire the nDCG values of 0.65, 0.54, and 0.51 respectively. In this paper, the authors evaluate a method to calculate association between specialized terms using co-occurrence information in author keywords from academic papers. When author keywords found in academic paper databases are used, co-occurrence information in units of separate compound words can easily be obtained. However, because only a few words co-occur in one paper, the problem of data sparseness arises. Thus, in this paper, the authors take into consideration indirect co-occurrence relationships when computing relatedness. They create a large-scale terminology graph which connects sets of keywords for a paper using co-occurrence relationship links, then define the distance between two sets of terms using the average path length. In addition, the authors evaluate the validity of their proposed method for calculating association by applying the terminology graph created using a real, large-scale academic paper database to the problem of automatic classification of texts, then compare the results to when direct co-occurrence and context vectors are used. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In a conventional library the librarian eliminates individual differences in concepts in queries and maintains the reliability of information. In a digital library, however, the goal is to not involve people, and so queries which eliminate precision problems in query results are in demand as a replacement for the librarian. In current retrieval systems, precision is improved by using a hierarchical method such as synonym notation processing. In methods based on word systems, processing to handle the inadequate expression of the intention of a query or the semantic interpretation of a query are insufficient, and information retrieval from a more hierarchical perspective is needed. In this paper the authors propose a retrieval method using a hierarchical perspective based on a system of concepts, and not a retrieval method based on conventional word systems. By adopting the EDR electronic dictionary as a thesaurus and using concept information, queries and words which appear in papers are not processed merely as character strings, but are used in queries with consideration for the meaning of the words. The article presents a validation study which examines Q sorting process via Internet-based system Q-Assessor and paper-based sort. It mentions that the six subjects with legal background and professional public relations experience perform two sorts of the same set of 34 statements. It shows that 17 subjects opted computer-based alternative as the more convenient method while 13 subjects selected paper-based sorts.

Background: Health information systems are crucial to provide data for decision-making and demand for data is constantly growing. However, the link between data and decisions is not always rational or linear and the management of data ends up overloading frontline health workers, which may compromise quality of healthcare delivery. Despite limited evidence, there is an increasing push for the digitalization of health information systems, which poses enormous challenges, particularly in remote, rural settings in low- and middle-income countries. Paper-based tools will continue to be used in combination with digital solutions and this calls for efforts to make them more responsive to local needs. Paper-based Health Information Systems in Comprehensive Care (PHISICC) is a transdisciplinary, multi-country research initiative to create and test innovative paper-based health information systems in three sub-Saharan African countries.Methods/design: The PHISICC initiative is being carried out in remote, rural settings in Côte d'Ivoire, Mozambique and Nigeria through partnership with ministries of health and research institutions. We began with research syntheses to acquire the most up-to-date knowledge on health information systems. These were coupled with fieldwork in the three countries to understand the current design, patterns and contexts of use, and healthcare worker perspectives. Frontline health workers, with designers and researchers, used co-creation methods to produce the new PHISICC tools. This suite of tools is being tested in the three countries in three cluster-randomized controlled trials. Throughout the project, we have engaged with a wide range of stakeholders and have maintained the highest scientific standards to ensure that results are relevant to the realities in the three countries.Discussion: We have deployed a comprehensive research approach to ensure the robustness and future policy uptake of findings. Besides the innovative PHISICC paper-based tools, our process is in itself innovative. Rather than emphasizing the technical dimensions of data management, we focused instead on frontline health workers' data use and decision-making. By tackling the whole scope of primary healthcare areas rather than a subset of them, we have developed an entirely new design and visual language for a suite of tools across healthcare areas. Featured Application: Generation of a Dynamic Innovation Information System (DIIS) for optimized planning and decision-making thanks to the dynamic evaluation of innovations over their life cycle, applying a methodology for Digital Ecosystems in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and an innovation management model based on the Viable System Model. Innovations are essential for global development and market dynamics. Innovation management is central to organizations for gaining adaptability and dynamic capabilities to ensure their sustainability over time. Right decisions are essential for the implementation of innovations. However, on many occasions, especially in the product development process, decisions are taken based on static analysis, qualitative criteria, questionnaires, and/or quantitative evaluations that are outdated. Moreover, many innovation developments do not consider the existing databases in their information systems of similar innovation projects, especially in the early phases of new innovations when evaluations are mainly driven by area, group, or person. Furthermore, inventions are introduced in different regions, plants, and socio-economic situations, providing different results. In this context, considering that innovations shape our current and future world, including all products and services, as well as how humans, organizations, and machines interact, the significance of the paper is clear. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an innovation management model based on the Viable System Model to cope with any potential future environment based on internal organizational capabilities. For this purpose, the paper designs a Digital Ecosystem for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (DE4.0) based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology applicable to any information system consisting of a digital twin, a simulation model, databases from existing information systems, and quality management techniques. This DE4.0 provides a huge advantage for the applicability and scalability of innovations as it allows one to plan, monitor, assess, and improve. Moreover, based on the conceptual model, a generic project evaluation scheme is developed, providing a platform for innovation project management and control during the whole innovation life cycle. As a result, the research provides a scientific and practical contribution for an integrated management of innovations based on the best information and set of techniques available. Based on this framework, a supply-chain case study is developed. The results show how, depending on the intended goals, the past experiences, the evolution of the innovation, and the innovation scope, indicators can be influenced towards reaching the initial goals and reducing the innovation risks. Purpose: Much of recent academic and professional interest in exploring digital transformation and enterprise systems has focused on the technology or the organizations' external forces, leaving internal factors, in particular employees, overlooked. The purpose of this paper is to explore digital literacy of employees as an organizational affordance to capture contextual factors within which digital technologies are situated and are used. Design/methodology/approach: We used the evidence-based practice for information systems approach, and undertook a systematic literature review of 30 papers coupled with brainstorming with 11 professional experts on the neglected topic of digital literacy and its assessment. Findings: This paper draws upon affordance theory, and develops a novel framework for conceptualization of digital literacy of employees as an organizational affordance. We do this by distinguishing digital literacy at the individual level and organizational level, and by assessing digital literacy through Information/Cognitive and Social Practice/Articulation affordances. Research limitations/implications: The current paper contributes to the notion of organizational affordances by examining the effect of interactions between employee-technology through digital literacy of employees in using digital technologies. We offer a novel conceptualization of digital literacy to improve understanding of the role of employee in digital transformation and utilization of enterprise systems. Thus, our definition of digital literacy offers an extension to the recent discussions in the IS literature regarding the actualization of affordances by bringing a lens of employees into the process. Practical implications: This paper operationalizes digital literacy at organizational and individual levels, and offers managers a high-level tool to assess digital literacy of their employees. By doing so, managers can achieve the fit between employees' capabilities and digital technologies that will improve affordance actualization and support their digital transformation initiatives. Originality/value: The study is one of early attempts to apply and extend affordance theory on digital literacy at organizational level by not limiting the concept to the individual level. Hyper-heuristics have arisen as methods that increase the generality of existing solvers. They have proven helpful for dealing with complex problems, particularly those related to combinatorial optimization. Their recent growth in popularity has increased the daily amount of text in the related literature. This information is primarily unstructured, mainly text that traditional computer data systems cannot process. Traditional systematic literature review studies exhibit multiple limitations, including high time consumption, lack of replicability, and subjectivity of the results. For this reason, text mining has become essential for researchers in recent years. Therefore, efficient text mining techniques are needed to extract meaningful information, patterns, and relationships. This study adopts a literature review of 963 journal and conference papers on hyper-heuristic-related works. We first describe the essential text mining techniques, including text preprocessing, word clouds, clustering, and frequent association rule learning in hyper-heuristic publications. With that information, we implement visualization tools to understand the most frequent relations and topics in the hyper-heuristic domain. The main findings highlight the most dominant topics in the literature. We use text mining analysis to find widespread manifestations, representing the significance of the different areas of hyper-heuristics. Furthermore, we apply clustering to provide seven categories showing the associations between the topics related to hyper-heuristic literature. The vast amount of data available that we find opens up a new opportunity for researchers to analyze the status of hyper-heuristics and help create strategic plans regarding the scope of hyper-heuristics. Agricultural policies are widening the scope to contribute to environmental objectives, such as the Green Deal, Paris Climate Agreement and sustainable development goals. This leads to new monitoring and data needs. To fulfil these data needs, it is crucial to explore the opportunities and limitations of new technologies. This paper analyses the information flows within the agricultural sector and its potential to contribute to future information needs. Farmers act within a network of commercial and governmental organisations. The information exchange with these organisations could increasingly occur through digital means, but in reality, there is still a lot of data transfer on paper or in PDF format. This implies information loss. Digital information flows provide a wealth of information for policy evaluation and monitoring and have the potential to reduce transaction costs. Combining data from different sources (open data like earth observation data, data from on-farm sensor networks, accountancy data like invoices and data from food chain platforms) concerning a single farm is an even bigger challenge than the transfer from paper to digital. Based on these observations a list of requirements for a future solution for information transfer is defined. Based on these requirements, this paper presents the design of a System for Information Transfer to Reduce Administrative burdens (SITRA) to combine data from different sources and give farmers control who can access these data. SITRA will address farmers' needs to reduce the growing administrative burden placed on them by governments and the food chain sustainability and food safety schemes, especially if data would be stored in a digital farm locker and a farmer could voluntary give his consent through an authorisation mechanism to share specific data with his business partners, paying agency, statistical organisation and Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN, an EU monitoring system for the Common Agricultural Policy). A platform that provides such data lockers could also provide benchmark facilities and a tool for common (open source) maintenance of coding systems. The paper proposes some follow-up activities to test this design. As a pilot, organic farmers that participate in the Dutch Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) will be recruited to co-develop and test the design principles of the system. Given trust issues around data management, the design of the governance and business model of the system are key issues in the follow-up. This group is chosen as organic certification and FADN are the most dataintensive monitoring and evaluation tools in the CAP. The Farm to Fork communication proposes to enlarge the organic sector to 25% of the agricultural area. A new organic control regulation, based on a risk assessment approach is about to be implemented. The objective of this study is to analyze and foresee potential outliers in pulp and handsheet properties for larger data sets. The method is divided into two parts comprising a generalized Extreme Studentized Deviate (ESD) procedure for laboratory data followed by an analysis of the findings using a multivariable model based on internal variables (i. e. process variables like consistency and fiber residence time inside the refiner) as predictors. The process data used in this has been obtained from CD-82 refiners and from a laboratory test program perspective, the test series were extensive. In the procedure more than 290 samples were analyzed to get a stable outlier detection. Note, this set was obtained from pulp at one specific operating condition. When comparing such "secured data sets" with process data it is shown that an extended procedure must be performed to get data sets which cover different operating points. Here 100 pulp samples at different process conditions were analyzed. It is shown that only about 60 percent of all tensile index measurements were accepted in the procedure which indicates the need to oversample when performing extensive trials to get reliable pulp and handsheet properties in TMP and CTMP processes.

Albeit in different ways, both machine learning and gamification have transfigured the user experience of information systems. Although both are hot research topics, so far, little attention has been paid to how these two technologies converge with each other. This relation is not obvious as while it is feasible to enhance gamification with machine learning, it is also feasible to support machine learning with gamification; moreover, there are applications in which machine learning and gamification are combined yet not directly connected. In this study, we aim to shed light on the use of both machine learning in gamification and gamification in machine learning, as well as the related topics of using gamification in machine learning education and machine learning in gamification research. By performing a systematic literature mapping, we not only identify prior works addressing these respective themes, but also analyze how their popularity evolved in time, investigate the areas of application reported by prior works, used machine learning techniques and software tools, as well as the character of research contribution and the character of evaluation results for works that presented them. This paper systematically reviews literature with the aim of conceptualizing a change management framework for the effective use of the Examination Administration System (EAS). Information systems (IS) change management factors in the implementation and the post-implementation phases are systematically reviewed to identify 37 reports between 2015 and 2023 and content was analyzed. Postacceptance phase poses many challenges that often result in resistance from the user community thus relinquishing the expected gains. This paper explains change management factors in the postimplementation phase of information systems as they are not adequately addressed in existing literature. The conceptualization of the change management framework draws on the integration of the Unified Theory of Acceptance, Use of Technology and Effective Use Theory and nine change management factors as facilitating conditions. The paper concludes that effective use of EAS is realized through change management factors (i.e., user training, top management support activities, information flow, planning EAS as a change, change shared vision, performance measurement, user involvement and change recognition, user satisfaction and effective communication). This study further adds the indirect mechanisms (i.e., technology use and IS adaptive use) through which the change management factors can impact effective use. The study provides a useful guide to the practitioners and researchers to explain the change management strategies for the effective use of information systems and improve it. This paper also proposes that future studies adapt and/or empirically test conceptual change management apparatus for effective use to ascertain its validity within various contexts.
