In an era overwhelmed by academic big data, students grapple with identifying academic papers that resonate with their learning objectives and research interests, due to the sheer volume and complexity of available information. This study addresses the challenge by proposing a novel academic paper recommendation system designed to enhance personalized learning through the nuanced understanding of academic social networks. Utilizing the theory of social homogeneity, the research first constructs a sophisticated academic social network, capturing high-order social relationships, such as co-authorship and advisor–advisee connections, through hypergraph modeling and advanced network representation learning techniques. The methodology encompasses the development and integration of a hypergraph convolutional neural network and a contrastive learning framework to accurately model and recommend academic papers, focusing on aligning with students' unique preferences and reducing reliance on sparse interaction data. The findings, validated across multiple real-world datasets, demonstrate a significant improvement in recommendation accuracy, particularly in addressing the cold-start problem and effectively mapping advisor–advisee relationships. The study concludes that leveraging complex academic social networks can substantially enhance the personalization and precision of academic paper recommendations, offering a promising avenue for addressing the challenges of academic information overload and fostering more effective personalized learning environments. Background: The advent of Personalized Medicine (PM) holds significant promise in revolutionizing healthcare by tailoring treatments to individual patients based on their data. However, its successful implementation requires the seamless integration of innovative technologies and presents formidable challenges in terms of sustainability. To tackle these challenges head-on, the International Consortium for Personalized Medicine (ICPerMed) was established, and the IC2PerMed project, as part of this consortium, seeks to foster collaboration between the European Union (EU) and China in the field of Personalized Medicine. Based on the results collected by the project, the objective of this study is to discern the key priorities for the implementation of Personalised Medicine concerning Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Big Data and digital solutions, with a particular emphasis on data management and protection. Methods: A Delphi survey was conducted to gather expert's consensus on the main priorities for actions on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Big Data and digital solutions in the field of Personalized Medicine. Results: The survey identified seven priorities in the area of Big Data and digital solutions, including data interoperability, standards, security measures, and international partnerships. Additionally, twelve priorities were identified for the innovation-to-market process, emphasizing cost-effectiveness, need assessment, and value definition in resource allocation. Conclusions: The effective implementation of new technologies in Personalized Medicine research and practice is essential for the advancement of healthcare systems in both the European and Chinese contexts. The identified priorities play a pivotal role in promoting the sustainability of health systems and driving innovation in the implementation of Personalized Medicine. Addressing challenges related to data interoperability, standards, security, international collaboration, cost-effectiveness, and value assessment is of utmost importance in order to propel the progress of Personalized Medicine in healthcare systems. With the prevalence of artificial intelligence technologies, big data has been utilized to higher extent in many cross-domain fields. This paper concentrates on the digital assessment of vocational education level in some specific areas, and proposes a graph neural network-based assessment model for this purpose. Assume that all vocational colleges inside a specific region are with a social graph, in which each college is a node and the relations among them are the edges. The graph neural network (GNN) model is formulated to capture global structured features of all the nodes together. The GNN is then employed for the sequential modeling pattern, and the evolving characteristics of all the colleges can be captured. Some experiments are also conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed GNN-VEL. It is compared with two typical forecasting methods under evaluation of two metrics. Traces of mercury ions in environmental water can harm humans and animals. Paper-based visual detection methods have been widely developed for the rapid detection of mercury ions; however, existing methods are not sensitive enough to be used in real environments. Here, we developed a novel, simple and effective visual fluorescent sensing paper-based chip for the ultrasensitive detection of mercury ions in environmental water. CdTe-quantum-dots-modified silica nanospheres were firmly absorbed by and anchored to the fiber interspaces on the paper's surface to effectively avoid the unevenness caused by liquid evaporation. The fluorescence of quantum dots emitted at 525 nm can be selectively and efficiently quenched with mercury ions, and the ultrasensitive visual fluorescence sensing results attained using this principle can be captured using a smartphone camera. This method has a detection limit of 2.83 µg/L and a fast response time (90 s). We successfully achieved the trace spiking detection of seawater (from three regions), lake water, river water and tap water with recoveries in the range of 96.8–105.4% using this method. This method is effective, low-cost, user-friendly and has good prospects for commercial application. Conjecture about the weak replicability in social sciences has made scholars eager to quantify the scale and scope of replication failure for a discipline. Yet small-scale manual replication methods alone are ill-suited to deal with this big data problem. Here, we conduct a discipline-wide replication census in science. Our sample (N= 14,126 papers) covers nearly all papers published in the six top-tier Psychology journals over the past 20 y. Using a validated machine learning model that estimates a paper's likelihood of replication, we found evidence that both supports and refutes speculations drawn from a relatively small sample of manual replications. First, we find that a single overall replication rate of Psychology poorly captures the varying degree of replicability among subfields. Second, we find that replication rates are strongly correlated with research methods in all subfields. Experiments replicate at a significantly lower rate than do non-experimental studies. Third, we find that authors' cumulative publication number and citation impact are positively related to the likelihood of replication, while other proxies of research quality and rigor, such as an author's university prestige and a paper's citations, are unrelated to replicability. Finally, contrary to the ideal that media attention should cover replicable research, we find that media attention is positively related to the likelihood of replication failure. Introduction/purpose: Anomaly detection-based Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDSs) have emerged as a valuable tool, particularly in military fields, for protecting networks against cyberattacks, specifically focusing on Netflow data, to identify normal and abnormal patterns. This study investigates the effectiveness of anomaly-based machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) models in NIDSs using the publicly available NF-UQ-NIDS dataset, which utilizes Netflow data, with the aim of enhancing network protection. Methods: The authors Sarhan, M., Layeghy, S., Moustafa, N. and Portmann, M. in the conference paper Big Data Technologies and Applications, in 2021, involve a preprocessing step where 8 features are selected for the training phase out of the 12 available features. Notably, the IP source and destination addresses, as well as their associated ports, are specifically excluded. The novelty of this paper lies in the preprocessing of the excluded features and their inclusion in the training phase, employing various classification ML and DL algorithms such as ExtraTrees, ANN, simple CNN, and VGG16 for binary classification. Results: The performance of the classification models is evaluated using metrics such as accuracy, recall, etc., which provide a comprehensive analysis of the obtained results. The results show that the ExtraTrees ML model outperforms all other models when using our preprocessing features, achieving a classification accuracy of 99.09%, compared to 97.25% in the reference dataset. Background: The clinical effects of smartphone‐based interventions for bipolar disorder (BD) have yet to be established. Objectives: To examine the efficacy of smartphone‐based interventions in BD and how the included studies reported user‐engagement indicators. Methods: We conducted a systematic search on January 24, 2022, in PubMed, Scopus, Embase, APA PsycINFO, and Web of Science. We used random‐effects meta‐analysis to calculate the standardized difference (Hedges' g) in pre‐post change scores between smartphone intervention and control conditions. The study was pre‐registered with PROSPERO (CRD42021226668). Results: The literature search identified 6034 studies. Thirteen articles fulfilled the selection criteria. We included seven RCTs and performed meta‐analyses comparing the pre‐post change in depressive and (hypo)manic symptom severity, functioning, quality of life, and perceived stress between smartphone interventions and control conditions. There was significant heterogeneity among studies and no meta‐analysis reached statistical significance. Results were also inconclusive regarding affective relapses and psychiatric readmissions. All studies reported positive user‐engagement indicators. Conclusion: We did not find evidence to support that smartphone interventions may reduce the severity of depressive or manic symptoms in BD. The high heterogeneity of studies supports the need for expert consensus to establish ideally how studies should be designed and the use of more sensitive outcomes, such as affective relapses and psychiatric hospitalizations, as well as the quantification of mood instability. Considering the unique users of scholars' social networks, this paper proposed a collaborative association model of paper and project data based on scholars' social networks. Firstly, the proposed model used the two-step feature selection method to preprocess the data, removed the irrelevant and redundant features and obtained the effective features that affected the association between the paper and the project. Then it would adopt TVSM to calculate the text similarity between the paper and the project, then formed recommendation sets for different papers/projects. Through the social network (SCHOLAT) data for researchers, the model was implemented and applied to SCHOLAT. The online application situation and user feedback show that the model has good accuracy and practicability. Furthermore, it can more fully explore the potential relationship between the paper and the project, provide users with better academic research management services, and propose a novel research method for analyzing the academic big data. This study aims to shed light on the big data projects in BA as well as analyze the validity of the documentary environment in BA for using big data tools to benefit in the future from the vital data in BA's records. The researcher uses the case study and concludes that BA entered the era of big data through cultural-knowledge projects related to the web environment. Moreover, the research shows that the readiness rate of BA's documentary environment to utilize big data tools is (72%) ―if the researcher depends only on assessing the digital and paper records environments without records 2.0. But in the case of accounting the assessments of records 2.0, the digital and paper records' environments together, the readiness rate of BA's documentary environment to use big data tools decreases to (59%). Finally, the study recommends that BA must improve the regulatory reality of its records so as not to lose an essential source of big data in the future. Objectives: The International Society for Bipolar Disorders Big Data Task Force assembled leading researchers in the field of bipolar disorder (BD), machine learning, and big data with extensive experience to evaluate the rationale of machine learning and big data analytics strategies for BD. Method: A task force was convened to examine and integrate findings from the scientific literature related to machine learning and big data based studies to clarify terminology and to describe challenges and potential applications in the field of BD. We also systematically searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science for articles published up to January 2019 that used machine learning in BD. Results: The results suggested that big data analytics has the potential to provide risk calculators to aid in treatment decisions and predict clinical prognosis, including suicidality, for individual patients. This approach can advance diagnosis by enabling discovery of more relevant data‐driven phenotypes, as well as by predicting transition to the disorder in high‐risk unaffected subjects. We also discuss the most frequent challenges that big data analytics applications can face, such as heterogeneity, lack of external validation and replication of some studies, cost and non‐stationary distribution of the data, and lack of appropriate funding. Conclusion: Machine learning‐based studies, including atheoretical data‐driven big data approaches, provide an opportunity to more accurately detect those who are at risk, parse‐relevant phenotypes as well as inform treatment selection and prognosis. Traditional methods have the limitations of low accuracy and inconvenient operation in analyzing students’ abnormal behavior. Hence, a more intuitive, flexible, and user-friendly visualization tool is needed to help better understand students’ behavior data. In this study a visual analysis and interactive interface of students’ abnormal behavior based on a clustering algorithm were examined and designed. Firstly, this paper discusses the development of traditional methods for analyzing students’ abnormal behavior and visualization technology and discusses its limitations. Then, the K-means clustering algorithm is selected as the solution to find potential abnormal patterns and groups from students’ behaviors. By collecting a large number of students’ behavior data and preprocessing them to extract relevant features, a K-means clustering algorithm is applied to cluster the data and obtain the clustering results of students’ abnormal behaviors. To visually display the clustering results and help users analyze students’ abnormal behaviors, a visual analysis method and an interactive interface are designed to present the clustering results to users. The interactive functions are provided, such as screening, zooming in and out, and correlation analysis, to support users’ in-depth exploration and analysis of data. Finally, the experimental evaluation is carried out, and the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method are verified by using big data to obtain real student behavior data. The experimental results show that this method can accurately detect and visualize students’ abnormal behaviors and provide intuitive analysis results. This paper makes full use of the advantages of big data to understand students’ behavior patterns more comprehensively and provides a new solution for students’ management and behavior analysis in the field of education. Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) can radically change almost every aspect of the human experience. In the medical field, there are numerous applications of AI and subsequently, in a relatively short time, significant progress has been made. Cardiology is not immune to this trend, this fact being supported by the exponential increase in the number of publications in which the algorithms play an important role in data analysis, pattern discovery, identification of anomalies, and therapeutic decision making. Furthermore, with technological development, there have appeared new models of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DP) that are capable of exploring various applications of AI in cardiology, including areas such as prevention, cardiovascular imaging, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, and many others. In this sense, the present article aims to provide a general vision of the current state of AI use in cardiology. Results: We identified and included a subset of 200 papers directly relevant to the current research covering a wide range of applications. Thus, this paper presents AI applications in cardiovascular imaging, arithmology, clinical or emergency cardiology, cardiovascular prevention, and interventional procedures in a summarized manner. Recent studies from the highly scientific literature demonstrate the feasibility and advantages of using AI in different branches of cardiology. Conclusions: The integration of AI in cardiology offers promising perspectives for increasing accuracy by decreasing the error rate and increasing efficiency in cardiovascular practice. From predicting the risk of sudden death or the ability to respond to cardiac resynchronization therapy to the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism or the early detection of valvular diseases, AI algorithms have shown their potential to mitigate human error and provide feasible solutions. At the same time, limits imposed by the small samples studied are highlighted alongside the challenges presented by ethical implementation; these relate to legal implications regarding responsibility and decision making processes, ensuring patient confidentiality and data security. Summary: Where the response variable in a big dataset is consistent with the variable of interest for small area estimation, the big data by itself can provide the estimates for small areas. These estimates are often subject to the coverage and measurement error bias inherited from the big data. However, if a probability survey of the same variable of interest is available, the survey data can be used as a training dataset to develop an algorithm to impute for the data missed by the big data and adjust for measurement errors. In this paper, we outline a methodology for such imputations based on an k‐nearest neighbours (kNN) algorithm calibrated to an asymptotically design‐unbiased estimate of the national total, and illustrate the use of a training dataset to estimate the imputation bias and the "fixed‐k asymptotic" bootstrap to estimate the variance of the small area hybrid estimator. We illustrate the methodology of this paper using a public‐use dataset and use it to compare the accuracy and precision of our hybrid estimator with the Fay–Harriot (FH) estimator. Finally, we also examine numerically the accuracy and precision of the FH estimator when the auxiliary variables used in the linking models are subject to undercoverage errors. What constitutes good intelligence is best understood by practitioners but has not been explored through empirical analysis and in the context of a digital age. This paper presents the first research inside all the agencies that form the Australian National Intelligence Community exploring how they are impacted by big data. Intelligence is often opaque to outsiders, yet understanding the characteristics of good intelligence is important to societies that rely on intelligence agencies for national security. This paper reflects the previously unheard perspectives of members of the agencies that form the Australian National Intelligence Community – where there is a significant empirical gap. Semi-structured interviews with 47 participants explored the impact of big data on intelligence and decision-making in Australia. This paper finds that intelligence must meet the following characteristics, many established in historical literature, in order to be considered good intelligence; (i) timely, (ii) purposeful, (iii) actionable, (iv) accurate, (v) provides value-add for an intended audience, and, (vi) is unbiased. The paper reports findings from a study that examining how cross-platform social media analysis can help to map the digital discourse on sustainable mobility and sustainable transport, and enhance the understanding of sociotechnical low-carbon transport transitions. Using the hashtag search queries #sustainabletransport and #sustainablemobility, 33,121 Tweets (2013–2021) and 8,089 Instagram images including captions (2017/2018–2021) were scraped using the Python modules Twint and Instaloader. Quantitative text and sentiment analyses were applied to the Tweets and image captions. Additionally, an automated machine learning-based image analysis of the Instagram images was conducted using object detection via OpenCV. Synthesized results formed the base for a cross-platform analysis inspired by Rogers' method comprising hot topics/key themes, user mentions, sentiment polarity, and co-hashtags. Notably, electromobility emerged as a prominent theme, particularly on Instagram, while #sustainabletransport was closely associated with active travel, notably bicycling, and #sustainablemobility showcased a dominance of electromobility discourse. The study demonstrates the investigative potentials of cross-platform social media analysis studies to enhance the understanding of sociotechnical low-carbon transport transitions. Water constitutes an indispensable resource crucial for the sustenance of humanity, as it plays an integral role in various sectors such as agriculture, industrial processes, and domestic consumption. Even though water covers 71% of the global land surface, governments have been grappling with the challenge of ensuring the provision of safe water for domestic use. A contributing factor to this situation is the persistent contamination of available water sources rendering them unfit for human consumption. A common contaminant, pesticides are not frequently tested for despite their serious effects on biodiversity. Pesticide determination in water quality assessment is a challenging task because the procedures involved in the extraction and detection are complex. This reduces their popularity in many monitoring campaigns despite their harmful effects. If the existing methods of pesticide analysis are adapted by leveraging new technologies, then information concerning their presence in water ecosystems can be exposed. Furthermore, beyond the advantages conferred by the integration of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning (ML), and big data analytics, a notable outcome is the attainment of a heightened degree of granularity in the information of water ecosystems. This paper discusses methods of pesticide detection in water, emphasizing the possible use of electrochemical sensors, biosensors, and paper-based sensors in wireless sensing. It also explores the application of WSNs in water, the IoT, computing models, ML, and big data analytics, and their potential for integration as technologies useful for pesticide monitoring in water. Developing and executing large-scale data analysis applications in parallel and distributed environments can be a complex and time-consuming task. Developers often find themselves diverted from their application logic to handle technical details about the underlying runtime and related issues. To simplify this process, ParSoDA, a Java library, has been proposed to facilitate the development of parallel data mining applications executed on HPC systems. It simplifies the process by providing built-in scalability mechanisms relying on the Hadoop and Spark frameworks. This paper presents ParSoDA-Py, the Python version of the ParSoDA library, which allows for further support of commonly used runtimes and libraries for big data analysis. After a complete library redesign, ParSoDA can be now easily integrated with other Python-based distributed runtimes for HPC systems, such as COMPSs and Apache Spark, and with the large ecosystem of Python-based data processing libraries. For solving the storage and indexing problem of big data, this paper proposes a big data storage algorithm and an indexing algorithm, respectively. Simultaneously, the data classification and segmentation algorithm is given, and then, the classified data are segmented and sliced based on features of data. Moreover, the calculation of the service queue length on data slicing is given to achieve fast storage of slices in the data server. A data reconstruction method is given to index each slice of the original data and implement the data reconstruction according to the given reconstruction method. At the same time, an evaluation method for data reconstruction is also given to achieve the minimum difference between the reconstructed data and the original data. Simulation results show that the accurate rate of the data reconstruction method proposed in this paper is higher than 93%. In addition, compared with the existing data reconstruction methods, it is found that it not only has higher reconstruction accurate rate, faster reconstruction process, stronger anti-interference ability, but also lower information loss. These researches in this paper provide the powerful methods for protecting important documents, reducing losses, reducing waste of resources, and improving the convenience, speed, and safety in work, life, and so on. Transformational advances in environmental sensing have been made possible by the convergence of Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). The potential for these technologies is to work together and improve environmental monitoring data analytics. Integrating IoT in the cloud creates a robust environment for advanced analytics by overcoming previous hurdles in data granularity, real-time monitoring, and geographical coverage. These developments aren't without their own set of difficulties, however, including data security, interoperability, and ethical concerns. This paper explores integrating Cloud IoT with environmental sensing. The paper addresses these issues and emphasises the need to establish ethical data-gathering methods, implement standardised communication protocols, and address privacy concerns. Uveitis is a heterogeneous collection of infrequent diseases, which poses significant challenges to cost-effective research in the field. Medical registries are being increasingly recognized as crucial tools to provide high-quality data, thus enabling prospective clinical research. This paper describes the design and technical structure development of an innovative countrywide electronic medical record for uveitis, Uveite.pt, and gives an overview of the cohort registered since its foundation, March 2020. Uveite.pt is an electronic medical record platform developed by the Portuguese Ocular Inflammation Group (POIG), a scientific committee of the Portuguese Ophthalmology Society. This is a nationwide customized web-based platform for uveitis patients useful for both clinical practice and real-world-based research, working as a central repository and reporting tool for uveitis. This paper describes the technical principles, the design and the development of a web-based interoperable registry for uveitis in Portugal and provides an overview of more than 400 patients registered in the first 18 months since inception. In infrequent diseases, the existence of registries enables to gather evidence and increase research possibilities to clinicians. The adoption of this platform enables standardization and improvement of clinical practice in uveitis. It is useful to apprehend the repercussion of medical and surgical treatments in uveitis and scleritis, supporting clinicians in the strict monitoring of drug adverse reactions and surgical outcomes. MOTIVATION: With the enhancement of people's awareness of the protection of personal privacy information, how to provide better services on the premise of protecting users' privacy has become an urgent problem to be solved. Therefore, it is a necessary motivation to build a network intelligent platform for privacy protection and integrated big data mining. OBJECTIVE: In view of the existing network platform of data privacy leakage, low efficiency of data mining and user satisfaction is not high, this paper will adopt advanced privacy technology, to ensure the confidentiality of users' personal information and security, to enhance the user trust and use experience, to better meet the needs of users. METHODS: In order to better protect the privacy of users, the network intelligent platform should adopt more advanced privacy protection technology. This paper uses the differential privacy algorithm to reduce the risk of data leakage and abuse, and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of data analysis and mining. In the design of the platform, the performance of the platform is fully taken into account to realize the secure storage and efficient processing of data, with good scalability and flexibility to meet the growing user needs and business needs. The performance of the network intelligent platform is also analyzed by experimental simulation. RESULT: The experimental results of this article indicated that in a network intelligent platform based on privacy protection and integrated big data mining, its data transmission encryption score was 9.5; the data storage encryption score was 9.8; the score of access control mechanism was 9.3; the privacy protection score was 9.6; the response time was 80 ms; the processing speed was 121GB/h; the user satisfaction rating was 6.6. CONCLUSION: This indicated that the network intelligent platform had good platform performance and user friendliness while ensuring data security and privacy protection. This paper examines the work practices involved in making data legible to machines and machine output legible to humans. The study is based on ethnographic research of a team of art experts at DNArt – a data classification system that features a growing database of art images, a classification scheme, a similarity matching algorithm, and a website that together serve as a consumer judgment device in an emerging online market for art. I analyze interactions from meeting observations, interviews, documentation, and online interaction data to show how non-technical art experts explain and repair sociotechnical breakdowns – when their expectations for similarity between art images and artists differ from the similarity relations produced by the algorithm. By repairing breakdowns, the art experts construct the algorithm anew, as a legitimate revealer of similarity in art. Abstract Background Our current understanding of the pathophysiology and management of sepsis is associated with a lack of progress in clinical trials, which partly reflects insufficient appreciation of the heterogeneity of this syndrome. Consequently, more patient-specific approaches to treatment should be explored. Aims To summarize the current evidence on precision medicine in sepsis, with an emphasis on translation from theory to clinical practice. A secondary objective is to develop a framework enclosing recommendations on management and priorities for further research. Sources A global search strategy was performed in the MEDLINE database through the PubMed search engine (last search December 2017). No restrictions of study design, time, or language were imposed. Content The focus of this Position Paper is on the interplay between therapies, pathogens, and the host. Regarding the pathogen, microbiologic diagnostic approaches (such as blood cultures (BCs) and rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs)) are discussed, as well as targeted antibiotic treatment. Other topics include the disruption of host immune system and the use of biomarkers in sepsis management, patient stratification, and future clinical trial design. These advances have generated new opportunities for personalized precision eHealth and mHealth services. IoT heralds a paradigm shift in the healthcare horizon by providing many advantages, including availability and accessibility, ability to personalize and tailor content, and cost-effective delivery. Although IoT eHealth has vastly expanded the possibilities to fulfill a number of existing healthcare needs, many challenges must still be addressed in order to develop consistent, suitable, safe, flexible, and power-efficient systems that are suitable fit for medical needs. To enable this transformation, it is necessary for a large number of significant technological advancements in the hardware and software communities to come together. The objective of this study is to analyze and foresee potential outliers in pulp and handsheet properties for larger data sets. The method is divided into two parts comprising a generalized Extreme Studentized Deviate (ESD) procedure for laboratory data followed by an analysis of the findings using a multivariable model based on internal variables (i. e. process variables like consistency and fiber residence time inside the refiner) as predictors. The process data used in this has been obtained from CD-82 refiners and from a laboratory test program perspective, the test series were extensive. In the procedure more than 290 samples were analyzed to get a stable outlier detection. Note, this set was obtained from pulp at one specific operating condition. When comparing such "secured data sets" with process data it is shown that an extended procedure must be performed to get data sets which cover different operating points. Here 100 pulp samples at different process conditions were analyzed. It is shown that only about 60 percent of all tensile index measurements were accepted in the procedure which indicates the need to oversample when performing extensive trials to get reliable pulp and handsheet properties in TMP and CTMP processes.

Summary: In the era of big data, massive amounts of data hold great value. However, much data exists as isolated islands, and the maximum value of the data cannot be fully utilized. Federated learning allows each client to train local data and then share the training model parameters securely, which can address the isolated data island problem and exploit data value while ensuring data privacy and security. Accordingly, in order to securely complete the electric power load forecasting using existing data, this paper constructs a federated learning‐based privacy‐preserving scheme to support electricity load forecasting in edge computing scenarios. To address the problems of the data‐isolated islands and data privacy in electric power systems, this paper proposes a decentralized distributed solution based on the federated learning technique. Our scheme achieves electricity load forecasting for power systems through the federated learning‐based framework and uses edge computing architecture to improve real‐time data capability and reduce network latency. For the hierarchical scheduling structure in power systems, we divide the system into a cloud‐side‐device three‐layer architecture, which achieves structural coordination and balance, and each layer collects information according to the scheduling control tasks, promoting scheduling effectiveness. Finally, different privacy protection methods are used on the cloud‐edge and edge‐device sides to significantly enhance data security. Moreover, We have conducted extensive experimental simulations for our proposed scheme. The experimental results show that the relative error of electricity load forecasting is around 1.580%. In order to understand the application of iot Big data information acquisition for heating control systems, a research on iot Big data information acquisition for thermal storage heating control systems is proposed. This paper first analyzes the shortcomings of the traditional heating system, the heating data is scattered and difficult to collect. The IoT technology is applied to the heating platform through data acquisition, data visualization, data mining, data management and other aspects. Secondly, the application of the IoT in heating system data acquisition is studied, including the types of heating data collected, data acquisition process, data acquisition standards, etc. Finally, this paper takes the energy-saving transformation of 26 boilers in a heating enterprise as an example. The research results show that the boiler efficiency obtained in real time by using the online monitoring system of this project is 95.36%, and the reverse balance boiler efficiency in the paper report of the special inspection office is 94.88%, with a deviation of 1.48%. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019), the Chinese government has taken strict measures to prevent and control the epidemic. Although the spread of the virus has been controlled, people's daily life and work have been affected and restricted to varying degrees. Thus people have different sentiments, these may affect people's implementation and compliance with the policies, thus affecting the effectiveness of epidemic prevention and control. At present, few pieces of literature have analyzed the relationships between people's feelings, policies, and epidemic trends. The object of this paper is to analyze the text content on social media, to find out the impact of the epidemic blockade policy on the public mood and the concerns expressed by the public about policies changes, and the interaction between policies and epidemic states at different stages of the epidemic. In this paper, we collected the posts of two cities where the epidemic occurred at the same time for analysis and comparative study. On the one hand, we revealed the changes in public attention and attitudes in the two regions during the epidemic, the other hand, it also reflects the differences in public sentiment between the two regions, as well as the correlation between emotions and policies and epidemic trends when different policies are adopted under different circumstances. Purpose: This paper aims to reveal the interdisciplinarity of information science (IS) from the perspective of the evolution of theory application. Design/methodology/approach: Select eight representative IS journals as data sources, extract the theories mentioned in the full texts of the research papers and then measure annual interdisciplinarity of IS by conducting theory co-occurrence network analysis, diversity measure and evolution analysis. Findings: As a young and vibrant discipline, IS has been continuously absorbing and internalizing external theoretical knowledge and thus formed a high degree of interdisciplinarity. With the continuous application of some kernel theories, the interdisciplinarity of IS appears to be decreasing and gradually converging into a few neighboring disciplines. Influenced by big data and artificial intelligence, the research paradigm of IS is shifting from a theory centered one to a technology centered one. Research limitations/implications: This study helps to understand the evolution of the interdisciplinarity of IS in the past 21 years. The main limitation is that the data were collected from eight journals indexed by the Social Sciences Citation Index and a small amount of theories might have been omitted. The data mining is a tool of searching information from the data warehouse. Several mining algorithms exist in literature, one of the most common is the usual K-mean procedure. This generates centroids after every round of iteration. It is assumed that sample data is completely cleaned and noise free before the start of execution of the usual K-mean algorithm. If α% values are missing in sample data then after cleaning only (100-α)% values are available for the execution of the usual K-mean algorithm. Such bears a loss of information that affects the decision. This paper considers this problem and resolves such issue by replacing the missing data through imputed values calculated by the available values, called Mean Imputation (MI). It helps in financial risk analysis quite a lot because of risk prediction being taken on a larger sample (cleaned and imputed both). Several imputation procedures are available in literature. This paper considers the financial risk data as sample where the missing values of sample are imputed by the usual Mean-Imputation (MI) method and then on complete sample. Modern electrical power systems are characterized by a high rate of transient processes, the use of digital monitoring and control systems, and the accumulation of a large amount of technological information. The active integration of renewable energy sources contributes to reducing the inertia of power systems and changing the nature of transient processes. As a result, the effectiveness of emergency control systems decreases. Traditional emergency control systems operate based on the numerical analysis of power system dynamic models. This allows for finding the optimal set of preventive commands (solutions) in the form of disconnections of generating units, consumers, transmission lines, and other primary grid equipment. Thus, the steady-state or transient stability of a power system is provided. After the active integration of renewable sources into power systems, traditional emergency control algorithms became ineffective due to the time delay in finding the optimal set of control actions. Currently, machine learning algorithms are being developed that provide high performance and adaptability. This paper contains a meta-analysis of modern emergency control algorithms for power systems based on machine learning and synchronized phasor measurement data. It describes algorithms for determining disturbances in the power system, selecting control actions to maintain transient and steady-state stability, stability in voltage level, and limiting frequency. This study examines 53 studies piled on the development of a methodology for analyzing the stability of power systems based on ML algorithms. The analysis of the research is carried out in terms of accuracy, computational latency, and data used in training and testing. The most frequently used textual mathematical models of power systems are determined, and the most suitable ML algorithms for use in the operational control circuit of power systems in real time are determined. This widespread adoption generates substantial amounts of educational data, commonly known as big data, necessitating innovative solutions for analysis and utilization. To solve these challenges, this paper proposes utilizing the Apriori algorithm—a data mining technique renowned for uncovering valuable patterns and associations within extensive datasets. This paper evaluates the impact of various information resources with differing quality, considering individuals' information literacy skills. Utilizing data mining techniques, it delves into university students' information literacy data, integrating it with the university library resources to establish a data-driven information literacy education model. It then focuses on criteria, components, and effective methods for instructing college students in information literacy. Finally, a diverse group of students, from first-year undergraduates to doctoral candidates at a specific university, is studied for their engagement in information literacy instruction. Based on the experimental findings, sophomore students exhibited the highest level of participation at 75.9% accuracy, while postgraduate students received more information literacy training than undergraduates and Ph.D. students. When comparing this method to others, such as SVM, KNN, LR, RF, and DT, it achieved superior performance. Additionally, the quality of information literacy training in university libraries was assessed through three dimensions: student learning, behavior, and achievements. In order to solve the problem of strain modal identification under strain monitoring signals with poor vibration modal information, this paper proposes a strain mode identification method with statistical stability significance. This method removes noise, vehicle-induced effects, and temperature effects from the original dynamic strain signal, retaining only vibration-related components, and obtaining a statistically stable high quality bridge strain power spectrum, thereby identifying high quality strain mode parameters. Furthermore, in order to verify the confidence level of the strain modes obtained by this method, this paper adopts the interval estimation method to estimate the power spectrum, natural frequency, damping ratio, and modal shape after statistical processing. The credibility of strain modes has been estimated by interval estimation. The confidence interval of 95% confidence for each modal parameter is obtained, achieving the confidence-level evaluation of corresponding variable modal parameter identification. In response to practical engineering problems, this paper evaluates the actual bridge data of Tongji Road Bridge in Shanghai, and explains the abnormal phenomena that occurred in the data evaluation based on the measured diseases, verifying the practicality of this method. The home is an ever-changing assemblage of technologies that shapes the organisation and division of housework and supports certain models of what that work entails, who does it and for what purposes. This paper analyses core tensions arising through the ways smart homes are embedding logics of digital capitalism into home life and labour. As a critical way of understanding these techno-political shifts in the means of social reproduction, we advance the concept of Big Mother – a system that, under the guise of maternal care, seeks to manage, monitor and marketise domestic spaces and practices. We identify three tensions arising in the relationships between care and control as they are mediated through the Big Mother system: (a) outsourcing autonomy through enhanced control and choice, (b) increased monitoring for efficient management and (c) revaluation of care through optimisation of housework. For each area, we explore how emerging technological capacities promise to enhance our abilities to care for our homes, families and selves. Yet, at the same time, these innovations also empower Big Mother to enrol people into new techniques of surveillance, new forms of automation and new markets of data. Our purpose in this paper is to push back against the influential ideas of smart homes based on luxury surveillance and caring systems by showing that they exist in constant relation with a supposedly antithetical version of the smart home represented by Big Mother. Chinese vocabulary is the foundation for understanding and using language, and any language has developed on the basis of Chinese vocabulary. Many studies have shown that there are many factors that affect the acquisition of Chinese vocabulary, and the impact on Chinese vocabulary acquisition is also different. Among them, the influencing factors of Chinese vocabulary acquisition have gradually become a research hotspot, and a large number of related empirical studies have emerged. Based on the big data technology and the random effect model, this paper comprehensively analyzes whether the influencing factors of Chinese vocabulary acquisition as a second language are significant and investigates the effects of internal and external influencing factors, delayed post-test, specific factors and experimental interval time on the learning effect. External factors significantly impact Chinese vocabulary acquisition, including learning style, input factors and input methods. Through the subgroup analysis of the experimental interval, we find that the effect of Chinese vocabulary acquisition decreases with the extension of the experimental interval. Shake-table tests of a full-scale 3-story reinforced concrete frame building were performed at the E-Defense facility (Miki City, Japan) as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Resilience Project. Building data were collected before and after each shake-table experiment, using light detection and ranging (lidar) scanning technology. Three-dimensional point clouds were generated and processed to investigate the damage features that can be extracted, which are important for postdisaster structural assessment purposes. To this end, this paper discusses aspects pertaining to lidar data processing and registration, calculation of residual displacements and interstory drifts, and concrete cracking and spalling identification and measurement. Most notably, this paper deals with very large data sets, processed to extract structural response information at both global and local scales. Limited multiscale work has been done in the past, and the different sets of challenges that arise have typically been addressed separately. Evidently, this gap needs to be filled before lidar can be effectively used in the field for structural assessment applications. A series of examples in which lidar data are processed and analyzed to assess specific structural components is illustrated, showing that point cloud data can indeed be processed to obtain measurements of global residual drifts or of the extent of visible damage (e.g., crack width and spalling). Although preliminary in nature, the results presented in this paper indicate that collecting postdisaster data using terrestrial lidar scanners has the potential to contribute improving how buildings are assessed in the aftermath of seismic events. In the ship information big data system, aiming at the problems such as long time consuming, distortion of thermal map effect and poor tracking or lag in the roaming of map software when the client requests a large amount of historical data from the server and draws heat map in real time, this paper proposes an improved real-time generation strategy of map map of ship history activity. Based on the thermal map generation method with the idea of pixel clustering, this strategy uses the image enhancement algorithm based on nonlinear transformation and pixel complement method to correct and optimize the display distortion problems existing in the head map. On this basis, the dynamic loading and drawing strategy and multi-thread real-time mapping strategy are proposed to generate the heat map of the ship’s historical activities.
