We present some applications of a new matrix approach for studying the properties of the lift Γ α of a voltage digraph, which has arcs weighted by the elements of a group. As a main result, when the involved group is Abelian, we completely determine the spectrum of Γ α. As some examples of our technique, we study some basic properties of the Alegre digraph, and completely characterize the spectrum of a new family of digraphs, which contains the generalized Petersen graphs, and the Hoffman–Singleton graph. The critical group of a finite connected graph is an abelian group defined by the Smith normal form of its Laplacian. Let q be a power of a prime and H be a multiplicative subgroup of K = F q. By Cay (K , H) we denote the Cayley graph on the additive group of K with "connection" set H. A strongly regular graph of the form Cay (K , H) is called a cyclotomic strongly regular graph. Let ℓ > 2 and p be primes such that p is primitive (mod ℓ). We compute the critical groups of a family of cyclotomic strongly regular graphs for which q = p (ℓ − 1) t (with t ∈ N) and H is the unique multiplicative subgroup of order k = q − 1 ℓ. Abstract: Let G be a finite abelian group, let E be a subset of G, and form the Cayley (directed) graph of G with connecting set E. We explain how, for various matrices associated to this graph, the spectrum can be used to give information on the Smith normal form. This technique is applied to several interesting examples, including matrices in the Bose–Mesner algebra of the Hamming association scheme . We also recover results of Bai and Jacobson–Niedermaier–Reiner on the critical group of a Cartesian product of complete graphs. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: We calculate the Smith normal form of the adjacency matrix of each of the following graphs or their complements (or both): complete graph, cycle graph, square of the cycle, power graph of the cycle, distance matrix graph of cycle, Andrásfai graph, Doob graph, cocktail party graph, crown graph, prism graph, Möbius ladder. Abstract: In this paper we give a criterion for the adjacency matrix of a Cayley digraph to be normal in terms of the Cayley subset . It is shown with the use of this result that the adjacency matrix of every Cayley digraph on a finite group is normal iff is either abelian or has the form for some non-negative integer , where is the quaternion group and is the abelian group of order and exponent 2.
