In the pursuit of highly active electrocatalysts is crucial to overcome the sluggish kinetics of oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Herein, Fe–CoS 2 /carbon nanotubes anchored on carbon polyhedron (Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs) is prepared by using zeolitic imidazolate framework-8@zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-8@ZIF-67) as template. A series of analysis demonstrates the incorporation of Fe via wrapped Fe-EDTA can exert charge transfer between Co and Fe and optimize the adsorption of targeted intermediates, which favors for enhanced OER performance. Moreover, the catalytic effect of Co and Fe not only promotes the growth of carbon nanotubes but also enhances the degree of graphitization. The carbon skeletons embedded with carbon nanotubes derived from ZIF-8@ZIF-67 offer high specific surface area and strengthen the electrical conductivity of Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs. Therefore, compared with its counterpart and commercial RuO 2 , the designed Fe–CoS 2 /CNT CPs with regulated electronic structure displays the lowest overpotential of 293 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm−2 in 1.0 M KOH solution for OER. This Part covers Learning Management Systems, infographics, podcasting, videos, websites, social media, online discussion forums, simulation, virtual patients, extended and virtual reality. Intertwined are other topics, such as online small group teaching, game-based learning, FOAM, online social and collaboration learning, and virtual care teaching. Perception in virtual reality is often compared to the perception of pictures. There are, however, important differences. A virtual reality environment, unlike a picture, is interactive and immersive. These properties give rise to novel theoretical challenges. Building on James J. Gibson's analysis of the perception of depictions, we raise three questions about perception in virtual reality, to which we offer tentative answers: (1) Is virtual reality a kind of picture perception? Answer: No. A virtual reality headset is better understood not as an image-based display but as a pair of electronic spectacles that allow the wearer to sample a simulated ambient optic array. (2) Who creates the information in virtual reality? Answer: The information is a joint creation of hardware developers, software engineers, and the observer. The observer is a co-creator of the information that they detect. (3) Are there affordances in virtual reality? Answer: Yes, but there are limitations on what a given virtual reality environment can provide to its users, resulting from the details of how the environment is implemented. Visual misinformation poses unique challenges to public health due to its potential for persuasiveness and rapid spread on social media. In this article, librarians at the University of Pittsburgh Health Sciences Library System identify four types of visual health misinformation: misleading graphs and charts, out of context visuals, image manipulation in scientific publications, and AI-generated images and videos. To educate our campus's health sciences audience and wider community on these topics, we have developed a range of instruction about visual health misinformation. BACKGROUND: The monitoring of fetal heart rate (FHR) before intrapartum has been crucial in modern obstetrics. FHR has been used for about 300 years to determine fetal status, leading to the development of monitoring devices to prevent fetal death during gestation. While medical devices like fetal electrocardiograms exist for disease detection, their size and cost limit individual use. OBJECTIVE: To address cardiovascular issues during pregnancy, a mobile system is developed to display heart rates and blood pressure on mobile devices. The system is generated from a medical device with Bluetooth communication, supplementing traditional monitoring. METHOD: The study focuses on creating a mobile system that connects to mobile operating systems, enhancing treatment, diagnosis, and patient monitoring. The mobile system displays cardiovascular data obtained from the medical device. RESULTS: The results are expected to have an immediate impact on cases where abnormal measurement parameters of the monitoring system occur during pregnancy. The use of mobile systems or applications on smartphones is seen as beneficial in distributing processing and census of embedded health systems. CONCLUSION: The study highlights the potential benefits of mobile systems in distributing processing for health systems, particularly in addressing cardiovascular problems during pregnancy. Silver‐zinc (Ag–Zn) batteries are a promising battery system for flexible electronics owing to their high safety, high energy density, and stable output voltage. However, poor cycling performance, low areal capacity, and inferior flexibility limit the practical application of Ag–Zn batteries. Herein, we develop a flexible quasi‐solid‐state Ag–Zn battery system with superior performance by using mild electrolyte and binder‐free electrodes. Copper foam current collector is introduced to impede the growth of Zn dendrite, and the structure of Ag cathode is engineered by electrodeposition and chloridization process to improve the areal capacity. This novel battery demonstrates a remarkable cycle retention of 90% for 200 cycles at 3 mA cm−2. More importantly, this binder‐free battery can afford a high capacity of 3.5 mAh cm−2 at 3 mA cm−2, an outstanding power density of 2.42 mW cm−2, and a maximum energy density of 3.4 mWh cm−2. An energy management circuit is adopted to boost the output voltage of a single battery, which can power electronic ink display and Bluetooth temperature and humidity sensor. The developed battery can even operate under the extreme conditions, such as being bent and sealed in solid ice. The rapid use of additive manufacturing (AM) in electronic industry identifies the need of flexible electrically conductive materials suitable for 3D printing. Challenges like buckling of flexible filament and complexity in addition of conductive fillers makes pellet‐based extrusion the most suitable alternative for part printing. In the present work, graphite powder is combined with ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) to print flexible electrically conductive parts. EVA graphite composite with filler loading up to 30% has been investigated for its electrical conductivity and part printability. The composite made was found electrically conductive and suitable for part printing. The parts were printed on a CNC milling machine by using a retrofitted material extrusion tool with nozzle of 0.4 mm diameter and temperature range of 130–140°C. Parts were printed on a detchable heating bed placed on the milling machine setup. Samples of EVA with graphite filler by weight of 5%, 10%, 20%, and 30% were printed and were checked for electrical conductivity. When the filler content was increased from 10% to 20%, the electrical resistance of the composite was reduced by 62.6%. The presence and uniform dispersion of graphite flakes in the polymer matrix of EVA were guaranteed by the rheological and morphological characterization of the composite. Applications of 3D printable flexible electrically conductive parts lies in numerous domains including biosensors, wearable health monitoring devices, capacitors, field effective transistors, light emitting diodes, solar cells, and electronic displays. The utilization of high-resolution printed flexible electronic devices is prevalent in various fields, including energy storage, intelligent healthcare monitoring, soft robotics, and intelligent human–machine interaction, owing to its compact nature and mechanical flexibility. The EHD jet printing technology has the potential to develop the field of printing industry through its ability to fabricate high-resolution, flexible, stretchable, and 3D structures for electronic applications such as displays, sensors, and transistors. The EHD jet printing technology involves the use of solution-based inks made of diverse functional materials to print a wide range of structures. Consequently, it is imperative to have a comprehensive understanding of nanomaterial composites that are printed using EHD jet printing technology. This review provides a thorough overview of nanomaterial composite inks printed for electronic devices using EHD jet printing technology. A materials scientist named Frank Mücklich has won the Albert Keil Prize for his work in improving the reliability of electrical contacts in cars. Mücklich developed a laser surface texturing procedure that makes the surfaces of electrical contacts more stable and efficient, reducing electrical contact resistance by up to 80%. In this paper, we introduce the concept of high contrast ratio to gaming monitor display based on ADS Pro technology. The contrast ratio specification is increased from 1000:1 to 2000:1 to improve picture quality while remaining the specification of native response time with 5ms. We have developed low viscosity negative liquid crystal and optimized panel design, backlight design and process conditions to maximize the white brightness and to minimize the dark brightness. Finally, the contrast ratio is increased to 2225:1, and the response time in the form of grey‐to‐grey time is 5.27 ms, the low blue light ratio is less than 35% for healthier gaming display. After offering great promise and attracting substantial investment in technology development, fields emission did not succeed in the competition against liquid crystal technology for computer screens and plasma technology for large flat panel television. We review and analyze some of the challenges that prevented field emission from becoming a mayor information display technology. W e report the development of a novel modelling tool that can be used to support the design of field emitters optimized to the application requirements. The previous lack of such a simulation tool that incorporates the range of phenomena that affect field emission has been a limiting factor in emitter performance and data analysis. The new model enables more accurate and effective design of field emitters including the emission dynamics and thermal behaviour for a wide range of geometries and materials. It provides a powerful tool with high accessibility to support engineers to make informed decisions as part of the product design process. Trunk modification is associated with knee abduction moment reduction in both healthy groups and individuals with knee osteoarthritis. Ambulatory-related changes in trunk kinematics have been implicated in increased trunk moment. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of dose-specific lateral trunk lean on trunk kinetics during ipsilateral and contralateral stance phases. Nineteen healthy participants completed 10 baseline walking trials, followed by 10 trials employing lateral trunk lean. Trunk modification magnitudes were determined based on the average baseline trunk angle. Five trials of both small and large trunk modification magnitudes were completed. Visual real-time biofeedback was projected as a line graph displaying the trunk angle during stance, and a highlighted bandwidth was designated the target range. A 1-factor repeated-measures analysis of variance or Friedman test was used to assess differences between the conditions (P < .05) in trunk dependent measures. Trunk kinetics displayed significant increases, even during modest modifications to the trunk angle. The participants experienced increased peak frontal plane trunk moment and angular impulse during ipsilateral stance. The observed increase in the peak lateral joint reaction force is suggestive of a compromised loading environment at the spine. In this work, the structural and electronic properties of topological TMDCs candidate ZrTe2 are systematically investigated under high pressure. Superconductivity is observed at around 8.3 GPa without structural phase transition. A typical dome‐shape phase diagram is obtained with the maximum Tc of 5.6 K for ZrTe2. Aerosol jet printing (AJP) is a new non-contact direct writing technique designed to achieve precise and intricate patterns on various substrates. Specifically, the pneumatic AJP process breaks down the ink into fine particles, significantly reducing the risk of nozzle clogging and rendering it highly advantageous for industrial applications. This paper focuses on the optimization of the line electrode formation process using soluble silver clusters as the conductive ink, along with the aerosol formation procedure. The main parameters of the AJP process, namely sheath flow rate, atomizer flow rate, and dispensing speed, were identified and examined for their influence on line width and resistivity. Through this analysis, an operability window, including optimized conditions for printing high-quality lines using the AJP process, was established, along with a regression equation enabling the statistical estimation of line width. In summary, the outcomes of this investigation underscore the feasibility of an integrated printing system capable of precision control over line width, achieved through the optimization of AJP process parameters. Furthermore, it was established that pneumatic AJP offers robust process stability. The practical applicability of the proposed optimization techniques was assessed, highlighting their potential utilization in electrode formation processes within the electronic and display industry. Purpose: Patellofemoral arthroplasty (PFA) was shown to be a potentially effective surgical technique for isolated patellofemoral osteoarthritis but varying reports on PFA-related implant failure and complications have rendered the procedure controversial. This study aimed to identify impactful publications, research interests/efforts, and collaborative networks in the field of PFA research. Methods: The study used the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database, Medline, Springer, BIOSIS Citation Index, and PubMed to retrieve relevant publications on PFA research published between 1950–2022. Statistical tests in R software were used for analysis while VOSviewer, Bibliometrix, and CiteSpace were employed for data visualization. Results: Two hundred forty-one articles were analyzed with the number of published papers increasing over time. Knee was the most frequent journal and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research was the most cited journal. Clinical outcomes, such as prosthesis survival, revision, and complications, were researched most frequently as demonstrated by keyword analysis. The United States was the top contributor to cooperative networks, followed by the United Kingdom while Technical University Munich formed close ties among authors. Conclusion: Publications on PFA research have witnessed a notable surge. They primarily came from a limited number of centers and were characterized by low-level evidence. The majority of studies primarily focused on the clinical outcomes of PFA, while revision of PFA and patient satisfaction have emerged as new research areas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM), especially single‐particle analysis, has become a powerful technique for visualizing the structure of biological macromolecules at high resolution. However, data acquisition in cryo‐EM is time consuming because it requires the collection of thousands of images to achieve a high‐quality reconstruction. Real‐time preprocessing and display of the images can greatly enhance the efficiency and quality of data collection. This study presents AutoEMage, a new open‐source software package that automates data transfer, preprocessing and real‐time display in cryo‐EM experiments. AutoEMage also includes a real‐time data monitoring system that alerts users to issues with their data, allowing them to take corrective actions accordingly. Navigation is a joint operation between humans and technology. Navigating high-speed craft (HSC) is a more critical and risky task than other types of ship navigation due to high speed and time limitations. Situational awareness (SA) is the understanding of what is going on around the navigators. HSC navigator who has an insufficient level of SA may lead to wrong decisions and even accidents. In this study, an analysis of Turkish HSC navigators' SA levels has been carried out in their working environment. Situational Awareness Rating Technique (SART) and pairwise comparison of the effects of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA), Automatic Identification System (AIS) and autopilot on SA questionnaires were applied. According to SA, navigation operations, factors that mostly affect SA and suggestions that would increase SA were sorted in accordance with the navigators' perceptions. The results show that the level of HSC navigators' SA is high and sufficient. Finally, considerations are introduced to keep acceptable levels or increase SA on HSCs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To determine the impact of a business intelligence dashboard tool to optimize automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs). Methods: A pre-post implementation design was used to evaluate key performance indicators (KPI) before and after the implementation of a dashboard tool to optimize ADCs. Eleven ADCs were optimized in 2 phases according to dashboard recommendations: (1) removal of unused medications over 90 days, (2) adjusting periodic automatic replenishment (PAR) levels, and (3) addition of commonly dispensed medications. The KPI measures that were assessed included inventory cost, no. of stocked medications, stockout percentage, vend to refill ratio, and missing dose messages from nursing. An interrupted-time-series regression was used to quantify the impact of ADCs on the means of measured KPIs. Results: Differences in mean distribution of all KPIs, except missing dose, between the pre- and post-ADC periods during the Phase 1 period were statistically significant: inventory cost (54.2 vs 56), stockout percentage (1.55 vs 1.12), vend to refill ratio (6.83 vs 6.14), and missing dose messages (221 vs 229). Only the mean ADC utilization (57.3 vs 64) and missing dose (228 vs 179) were statistically different between the pre- and post-ADC periods in Phase 2. The interrupted-time-series analysis showed that Phase 1 optimization significantly reduced the cost of inventory (β = −$1.238.00, P <.01), no. Stocked medications (β = −8.2, P <.01), percent stockout (β = −.49%, P <.01), vend-to-refill ratio (β = −1.29%, P<.01) and ADC utilization (β = −.2, P <.01). The crucial need for perpetual monitoring of photovoltaic (PV) systems, particularly in remote areas where routine inspections are challenging, is of major importance. This paper introduces an advanced approach to optimizing the maximum power point while ensuring real-time PV error handling. The overarching problem of securing continuous monitoring of photovoltaic systems is highlighted, emphasizing the need for reliable performance, especially in remote and inaccessible locations. The proposed methodology employs an innovative genetic algorithm (GA) designed to optimize the maximum power point of photovoltaic systems. This approach takes into account critical PV parameters and constraints. The single-diode PV modeling process, based on environmental variables like outdoor temperature, illuminance, and irradiance, plays a pivotal role in the optimization process. To specifically address the challenge of perpetual monitoring, the paper introduces a technique for handling PV errors in real time using evolutionary-based optimization. The genetic algorithm is utilized to estimate the maximum power point, with the PV voltage and current calculated on the basis of simulated values. A meticulous comparison between the expected electrical output and the actual photovoltaic data is conducted to identify potential errors in the photovoltaic system. A user interface provides a dynamic display of the PV system's real-time status, generating alerts when abnormal PV values are detected. Rigorous testing under real-world conditions, incorporating PV-monitored values and outdoor environmental parameters, demonstrates the remarkable accuracy of the genetic algorithm, surpassing 98% in predicting PV current, voltage, and power. This establishes the proposed algorithm as a potent solution for ensuring the perpetual and secure monitoring of PV systems, particularly in remote and challenging environments. Museums are public spaces that must guarantee access to their content to as many people as possible. For this reason, museums must consider all the difficulties their visitors may encounter when accessing their galleries and the exhibitions within them. Many areas of study in the museum sector have been applying what is known as the social model of disability in their approach for some years, but professionals who work in the design of exhibitions are often excluded from this conversation. This may imply that the accessibility aspects applied to the design of exhibitions in museums are often the same applied by designers to other sectors, and they are usually based on the medical model of disability. By highlighting the nature of access barriers and how they are experienced by visitors, this research aims to help professionals involved in the design of exhibitions empathize with the problems that visitors can face accessing digital screens and, therefore, provide solutions to mitigate their effects. This study investigated the effects of wearing AR devices on users' performance and comfort ratings while performing order-picking (OP) tasks. In addition to a picking-by-paper list, two AR devices combined with three order information display designs were examined. Thirty adult participants joined. They searched for and found the boxes in the order list, picked them up, and returned to the origin. The time to complete the task and the number of incorrect boxes picked up were analyzed to assess the performance of the tasks. The subjective ratings of the participants on the comfort rating scale (CRS) and the simulator sickness questionnaire (SSQ) were collected to assess the designs of both the AR devices and the order information displays. It was found that the participants could complete the OP tasks faster when adopting the order map (4.97 ± 1.57 min) or the 3D graph display (4.87 ± 1.50 min) using either one of the AR devices than when using a paper list (6.03 ± 1.28 min). However, they needed more time to complete the OP tasks when wearing both types of AR glasses when the Quick Response (QR) code option was adopted (10.16 ± 4.30 min) than when using a paper list. The QR code scanning and display design using either one of the AR devices guaranteed 100% accuracy but sacrificed efficiency in task completion. The AR device with a binocular display and hand gesture recognition functions had a significantly lower CRS score in the dimensions of attachment and movement (5.6 and 6.3, respectively) than the corresponding dimensions (8.0 and 8.3, respectively) of the other device with a monocular and hand touch input design. There were complaints of eye strain after using both AR devices examined in this study. This implies that these AR devices may not be suitable to wear for extended periods of time. Dual-display encoded libraries have resulted in the identification of pairs of synergistic binders, which have been further developed into high-affinity ligands. Novel selection modalities based on simultaneous display of binding molecules with molecules of selected functionality have recently been developed, creating opportunities for screening target proteins both in solution and in a cellular context. The versatility of encoding designs makes it possible to modulate the distance between ligands. Dual-display libraries can be used to explore ligand geometry and spacing for improving binding synergy. Affinity maturation by selections is an established use of dual-display encoded libraries and is an accessible method for improving the binding affinity of known ligands. DNA-encoded chemical library technology (DECL or DEL) has become an important pillar for small-molecule drug discovery. The technology rapidly identifies small-molecule hits for relevant target proteins at low cost and with a high success rate, including ligands for targeted protein degradation (TPD). More recently, the setup of DNA- or peptide nucleic acid (PNA)-encoded chemical libraries based on the simultaneous display of ligand pairs, termed dual-display, allows for more sophisticated applications which will be reviewed herein. Both stable and dynamic dual-display DEL technologies enable innovative affinity-based selection modalities, even on and in cells. Novel methods for a seamless conversion between single- and double-stranded library formats allow for even more versatility. Environmental radioactivity study was performed in unconventional hydrocarbons areas for the first time in Mexico, where four unconventional hydrocarbon exploratory wells (UHEW) are planned. This study assesses natural radiological conditions in areas around UHEW. Equivalent dose rate distribution displayed in Geographic Information System (GIS) had a maximum of 1.83 mSv a−1 and minimum of 0.04 mSv a−1, GIS was also used for introducing land usage, water resources and population occupancy. Measurements of gross alpha and gross beta in water were below the national permissible limits for drinking water 0.5 and 1.0 Bq L−1 respectively, even though samples do not correspond to drinking water. Evaluation of 238U and 226Ra in groundwater were below minimum detectable concentration 1.3 and 1.0 Bq L−1, respectively. This study provides a radiological baseline for the impact of future industrial activities, especially if exploitation of unconventional hydrocarbons produces naturally occurring radioactive material. Digital technology offers numerous advantages, such as preserving the authenticity, replicating reality, and facilitating dissemination. It enables the preservation of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in its original form and allows for the creation of comprehensive graphic, audio, and visual databases. Among these technologies, holographic technology holds promise for protecting ICH and promoting its dissemination. This paper focuses on interactive holographic technology and presents the design and implementation of a dynamic holographic display system that combines digital hologram (DH) and computer-generated hologram (CGH) to showcase 3D images consisting of both virtual and real objects. Real-time loading of DH into a spatial light modulator enables the optical reproduction of real objects, while the loading of two CGHs into other spatial light modulators facilitates the optical reproduction of virtual objects. Computational holography allows for the addition of virtual information, such as coordinate text, and the fusion of the three reconstructed images in space, resulting in an augmented reality experience and enhanced 3D display of real objects. An experimental setup employing three liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) devices confirms the validity of the proposed method. Compared to other techniques, this approach demonstrates improved image signal-to-noise ratio, reduced alignment errors, and wider coverage of light traversal for laser 3D reconstruction images. The holographic technology presented in this paper enables the fusion display of real and virtual scenes and real-time two-way interaction between the audience and virtual images. This paper introduces a novel differentiator-based maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller for a wind energy conversion system (WECS) equipped with a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). Building upon our previous algorithms, the proposed controller reduces the need for detailed system information and displays enhanced robustness against parameter variations and disturbances. The innovation lies in the elimination of the need for explicit functional forms or specific parameter values in the system's dynamics, relying solely on relative degrees and control directions. Utilizing a higher-order switching differentiator (HOSD), this paper outlines a method for overestimating the time derivatives of system outputs, thereby simplifying both the controller design and stability analysis. Compared to existing solutions, the proposed method requires minimal information, offers simpler control law structures, and follows a systematic design approach with fewer design constants. Simulation results demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed controller in both tracking maximum power and regulating reactive power to zero, suggesting a more efficient and simplified approach to MPPT control in WECS. Healthcare providers often encounter clinical trial results in the form of visual data displays. Although there is a robust literature on patient responses to data displays in medical settings, less is known about how providers comprehend and apply this information. Our study provides a scoping review of the literature on providers' reactions to and perceptions of data displays. We searched article databases (PubMed, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, the Cochrane Library) supplemented by handsearching. Eligible articles were published in English from 1990 to 2020. We identified 15 articles meeting our criteria. Studies with physicians were more prevalent (13/15) than those with other healthcare providers (6/15). Commonly assessed outcomes included objective (10/15) and subjective comprehension (4/15), preference for certain data display formats (6/15), and hypothetical decision-making around prescribing (4/15). In studies that assessed comprehension of clinical trial concepts, scores were average or below what would be considered mastery of the information. Data display formats that were preferred did not always correlate with better comprehension of information; lesser preferred formats (e.g. icon array) often resulted in better comprehension. Our findings suggest that healthcare providers may not accurately interpret complex types of data displays, and it is unknown if such limitations affect actual decision-making. Background: The substantial growth in gamification research has connected gamified learning to enhanced engagement, improved performance, and greater motivation. Similar to gamification, personalized learning analytics dashboards can enhance student engagement. Objectives: This study explores the student experiences and academic achievements using a gamified dashboard in a large, introductory STEM course. Methods: We examined two groups of students enrolled in different sections of a one‐semester‐long physical geology course with a total enrollment of 223 students. The only difference between the groups was that one had access to the dashboard. The data collection included students' assignments, overall performances, and exam scores. Students in both sections completed a Science Literacy Concept Inventory survey at the beginning and end of the term. Additionally, students completed an end‐of‐term survey containing open‐ended questions on their experience and interactions with specific elements. Results: Students shared mostly positive comments about their experience with the dashboard, and the final grade of students with access to the dashboard was 13% higher, on average, compared to their peers in the non‐dashboard section. Conclusion: With low costs and little time invested, gamified dashboards could have a significant impact on student performance in large STEM lecture courses. Lay Description: What is already known about this topic: Leaner dashboards that provide personalized feedback are linked to improved student performance in undergraduate STEM courses. What this paper adds: In this paper, we examine the differences in academic performance between students with and without access to a gamified learning dashboard in an undergraduate Geology course.We observe that students with access to the dashboard (the treatment group), outperform students without access (the control group). The greatest benefit is observed for students who use the dashboard more frequently.Students reported that the progress tracker, the badges, and the rewards all incentivized their use and provided useful feedback about their performance. Students who did not adopt the dashboard expressed a need for more detail about the tool and its purpose. Objectives: Managing multimorbidity as aging stroke patients is complex; standard self-management programs necessitate adaptations. We used visual analytics to examine complex relationships among aging stroke survivors' comorbidities. These findings informed pre-adaptation of a component of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program. Methods: Secondary analysis of 2013–2014 Medicare claims with stroke as an index condition, hospital readmission within 90 days (n = 42,938), and 72 comorbidities. Visual analytics identified patient subgroups and co-occurring comorbidities. Guided by the framework for reporting adaptations and modifications to evidence-based interventions, an interdisciplinary team developed vignettes that highlighted multimorbidity to customize the self-management program. Results: There were five significant subgroups (z = 6.19, p <.001) of comorbidities such as obesity and cancer. We constructed 6 vignettes based on the 5 subgroups. Discussion: Aging stroke patients often face substantial disease-management hurdles. Before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the College's Hirons Library & Learning Center (HLLC) library marketing efforts included word of mouth, information literacy instruction session, physical and electronic displays, and announcement on the library webpage to library users. In March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the HLLC, in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research & Training (OIRT), designed two new library marketing campaigns using the project management app, Notion. Both campaigns were designed to meet the new and changing needs of our new, predominately remote, users. In the first library marketing campaign, the HLLC's marketing goal was very focused and deliberate in purpose. The library emailed the College community messages to increase awareness and usage of the library's eBook collections. In the second library marketing campaign, the library broadened the purpose of the marketing campaigned to promote online resources, tools, and virtual programs. The library sent text messages to the students. In this edition of the column, we describe how our marketing efforts have changed due to the pandemic, including which strategies we employed, and the extent to which we recognized success with these new efforts. Urban excavation is an indispensable process for many construction activities such as road paving, house building, and pipe rehabilitation. However, the everincreasing complexity of underground utilities (e.g., water mains, gas lines, and sewage pipes) in urban environments challenges the safety of urban excavation, posing tremendous risks of potential collision and damage accidents. By obtaining real-time excavation information and high-fidelity simulation to evaluate safety risks, digital twin (DT) has an unexplored potential to improve urban excavation safety (UES). This research aims to investigate how a DT for urban excavation can be developed and used to improve UES. First, a multisensory solution is proposed to equip the physical excavators with the capability to precisely estimate their three-dimensional (3D) poses based on the kinematic model and social spider algorithm (SSA). Second, a building information model (BIM) of buried utilities and a 3D model of the excavators are integrated to form a dynamic virtual model that mirrors the actual excavation process. Third, based on the physical-virtual coupling DT, a real-time safety control method is proposed to proactively monitor urban excavation, dynamically assess collision risk, and timely warn against unsafe behaviors. A system prototype was developed and applied in a case study in Shandong, China. Results show that the system can precisely twin the pose of the excavator, increasing the estimation accuracy of the translation by at least 4.0 cm. The system can display the dynamic spatial position of the excavator and the buried pipes in 3D and automatically guide the excavator to operate safely in real-time, thereby avoiding potential collision accidents. Maritime safety is important for all stakeholders. On the other hand, maritime accidents occur despite rapid advances in technology. One of the most important aspects necessary to realise safety at sea is the safety of navigation. Navigating high-speed craft (HSC) is a more challenging and risky task than other types of ship navigation. A HSC navigator with insufficient safety culture (SC) may lead to wrong decisions in challenging physiological and psychological conditions. In this study, an analysis of HSC navigators' SC in terms of bridge operations has been carried out. Nordic Occupational Safety Climate Questionnaire (NOSACQ-50) and pairwise comparison of the effects of Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS), Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA), Automatic Identification System (AIS) and autopilot on SC have been applied to 38 Turkish HSC navigators. Navigation operations according to SC, factors that mostly influence SC and suggestions that will improve SC have been identified and discussed in accordance with navigators' perceptions. The monitoring performance of the photovoltaic system in real time is required for estimation and optimization purposes. This monitoring system has been the subject of extensive research, but in general it employs costly commercial software and as well as other license-based software. This paper discusses the design of a photovoltaic parameter monitoring system that uses Internet of Things technology to monitor in real time. This software is intended to be as interactive as possible in order to display all measurement data in the form of graphical according to a user-specified time interval. The constructed system is tested to display the measurement parameters of the fixed and dual axis solar tracker. The test results indicate that the system can display data in real time. Every data shown is accessible from any location and at any time, so long as the device being used is connected to the Internet. Rare earth elements (REEs) are essential for permanent magnets that are vital for wind turbines and electric vehicles motors (EV), and are also used in a range of high-tech devices such as smartphones, digital cameras, and electronic displays. Nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries have been identified as a potential source due to their short lifespans and an anticipated boom in the production of EV. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of mesomixing on crystal quality in a non-confined impinging jet mixer (NCIJM) during antisolvent crystallization of 3.2 g/L Nd2(SO4)3 from a synthetic leach solution of NiMH battery using ethanol at an O/A ratio of 1.1. The jet streams were supplied at a Reynolds number (Re) between 7500 and 15,000. The product slurry was allowed to further crystallize in a stirred batch crystallizer at a Re of 13,000 for 45 s. An average yield of 90% was achieved. Laser diffraction and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used for size analysis. The initial results were inconclusive due to the secondary mixing effect in the stirred batch crystallizer. Therefore, the experiments were repeated, and samples were collected immediately after mixing in the NCIJM onto a porous grid placed on a high absorbance filter paper to abruptly halt crystallization. The samples were analysed using a transmission electron microscope (TEM), and the acquired images were processed using ImageJ to obtain crystal size distributions (CSDs). It was found that the enhanced mesomixing conditions resulted in smaller crystal sizes and narrower CSDs. This was because the nucleation rate was found to be mass-transfer-limited, such that higher mesomixing intensities promoted the nucleation rate from 6 × 1012 to 5 × 1013 m−3 s−1 and, therefore, favoured the formation of smaller crystals. In parallel, intensified mesomixing resulted in uniform distribution of the supersaturation and, hence, narrowed the CSDs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Data tracking is a common feature of pain e-health applications, however, viewing visualizations of this data has not been investigated for its potential as an intervention itself. We conducted a pilot feasibility parallel randomized cross-over trial, 1:1 allocation ratio. Participants were youth age 12–18 years recruited from a tertiary-level pediatric chronic pain clinic in Western Canada. Participants completed two weeks of Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA) data collection, one of which also included access to a data visualization platform to view their results. Order of weeks was randomized, participants were not masked to group assignment. Objectives were to establish feasibility related to recruitment, retention, and participant experience. Of 146 youth approached, 48 were eligible and consented to participation, two actively withdrew prior to the EMA. Most participants reported satisfaction with the process and provided feedback on additional variables of interest. Technical issues with the data collection platform impacted participant experience and data analysis, and only 48% viewed the visualizations. Four youth reported adverse events not related to visualizations. Data visualization offers a promising clinical tool, and patient experience feedback is critical to modifying the platform and addressing technical issues to prepare for deployment in a larger trial. (1) Background: Changes in blink parameters have been found to influence ocular surface exposure, eliciting symptoms of dry eye and ocular signs. The aim of the study was to highlight the relevance of including blink regularity as a new parameter to fully characterize blinking; (2) Methods: A novel characterization of blink parameters is described, including spontaneous eyeblink rate (SEBR), percentage of incomplete blinks, and blink regularity. A pilot study was designed in which tear film break-up time (TFBUT), blink parameters, and the time percentage of ocular surface exposure were determined in eight subjects (52.0 ± 16.6 years, 4 females) in three experimental conditions (baseline, reading a hard-copy text, and reading from an electronic display). Blink parameters were monitored through asynchronous image analysis of one minute video segments; (3) Results: All blink parameters were influenced by experimental conditions. A trend was observed in which both reading tasks resulted in an increase in ocular surface exposure, mainly related to a combination of reduced SEBR, increased percentage of incomplete blinks, and loss of blink regularity; (4) Conclusions: A complete characterization of blink parameters is relevant to better understand ocular dryness related to surface exposure and to advice patients towards a reeducation of their blinking habits. In this study, an information fusion system displayed fusion information on a transparent display by considering the relationships among the display, background exhibit, and user's gaze direction. We used an ARM-based field-programmable gate array (FPGA) to perform virtual–real fusion of this system as well as evaluated the virtual–real fusion execution speed. The ARM-based FPGA used Intel® RealsenseTM D435i depth cameras to capture depth and color images of an observer and exhibit. The image data was received by the ARM side and fed to the FPGA side for real-time object detection. The FPGA accelerated the computation of the convolution neural networks to recognize observers and exhibits. In addition, a module performed by the FPGA was developed for rapid registration between the color and depth images. The module calculated the size and position of the information displayed on a transparent display according to the pixel coordinates and depth values of the human eye and exhibit. A personal computer with GPU RTX2060 performed information fusion in ~47 ms, whereas the ARM-based FPGA accomplished it in 25 ms. Background: The term "Telemedicine" is being used in the medical and health sector to treat patients and to provide medical guidance remotely. The intellectual output from India in terms of publications was harvested from Scopus® with the keyword "Telemedicine" and analyzed by using bibliometric techniques. Methods: The source data was downloaded from the Scopus® database. All the publications on telemedicine and indexed in the database up to the year 2021 were considered for scientometric analysis. The software tools VOSviewer® version 1.6.18 to visualize bibliometric networks, statistical software R Studio® version 3.6.1 with the Bibliometrix package Biblioshiny® were used for analysis and data visualization, and EdrawMind® was used for mind mapping. Result: India contributed 2,391 (4.32%) publications on telemedicine to a total of 55,304 publications worldwide until 2021. There were 886 (37.05%) papers that appeared in open access mode. The analysis revealed that the first paper was published in the year 1995 from India. Steep growth in the number of publications was observed in 2020 with 458 publications. The highest, 54 research publications, appeared in the "Journal of Medical Systems." The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, contributed the highest number of publications (n = 134). A considerable overseas collaboration was observed (USA: 11%; UK: 5.85%). Conclusions: This is the first such attempt to address the intellectual output of India in the emerging medical discipline of telemedicine and has yielded useful information such as leading authors, institutions, their impact, and year-wise topic trends. Background: Healthcare providers (HCPs) often encounter clinical trial results in the form of data displays in prescription drug promotions. Information conveyed in data displays vary in their presentation and complexity. This study describes characteristics of data displays in prescription drug advertising targeted to HCPs. Methods: This study characterized the content of 140 data displays in 98 unique print advertisements from 2009 to present and identified in AdPharm, an online database of pharmaceutical advertisements. Two reviewers independently coded the advertisements for characteristics (κ = 0.85) including complexity, format, and quality. Results: About one-third (32%) of the advertisements contained multiple data displays (range 2 to 6) and 44% showed clinical data from oncology trials; other disease domains were mental and behavioral health (14%), rheumatology and autoimmune disorders (8%), endocrinology (7%), cardiology (6%), infectious disease (6%), pulmonology and allergy (4%), and others (< 2% each). About one-half (51%) of displays were classified as "simple" which included "pseudographs" and basic tables or charts. "Complex" displays appeared as survival curves, line graphs, or bar graphs with complex features. Most complex displays included a comparator drug (90%), plain language restatement of the key finding (93%) and disclosure statements (91%) with additional study details, although their placement varied. Complex displays were of high quality, according to our selected indicators; our analysis found no data distortion or errors. Conclusion: Data displays in prescription drug advertising are often highly complex. Digitization of socio-economic processes at the micro level enabled integrated processing of accounting information, the final stage of which is electronic integrated reporting. To simultaneously inform internal and external stakeholders about the foreign economic activity of enterprises, it is necessary to improve the method of forming integrated reporting documents. The purpose of the article is to improve the structure and content of integrated reporting, which combines various types of reporting documents in a single electronic format with the financial and non-financial indicators using regarding the foreign economic activity of enterprises. The formation of electronic integrated reporting documents on foreign economic activity involves: combining elements of management, financial and statistical reporting; simultaneous use of different financial and non-financial indicators; integrated informing of internal and external users about international operations of the enterprise. The possibility of adapting the taxonomy of electronic integrated reporting to the information needs of stakeholders and their rights of access to the commercial secret of the enterprise in the context of foreign economic activity is substantiated. The procedure for displaying electronic integrated reporting documents in foreign languages and foreign currency exchange rates has been developed in accordance with the information priorities of foreign users of reporting information. For explaining the impact of exchange rate changes on financial results, it is proposed to display relevant indicators related to the operational and non-operational activities of enterprises – subjects of foreign economic activity in the electronic integrated reporting. The method of using graphic elements and analytical tables in electronic integrated reporting documents in the context of foreign economic activity has been improved for the visual optimization of its use by internal and external users. Prospects for further research consist in the use of analytical methods of researching the foreign economic activity of enterprises for the informational filling of graphic objects and analytical tables of electronic integrated reporting. The task of writing a scientific review article can seem overwhelming; however, it can be managed by using an organized approach and devoting sufficient time to the process. The process involves selecting a topic about which the authors are knowledgeable and enthusiastic, conducting a literature search and critical analysis of the literature, and writing the article, which is composed of an abstract, introduction, body, and conclusion, with accompanying tables and figures. This article, which focuses on the narrative or traditional literature review, is intended to serve as a guide with practical steps for new writers. Tips for success are also discussed, including selecting a focused topic, maintaining objectivity and balance while writing, avoiding tedious data presentation in a laundry list format, moving from descriptions of the literature to critical analysis, avoiding simplistic conclusions, and budgeting time for the overall process. Aim: Healthcare resource allocation varies worldwide. It is integral that countries identify optimal allocation methods to distribute healthcare resources to ensure and sustain good population heath. This study examines the association between healthcare resource allocation and perception of health status across countries. Subject and methods: Data from OECD Health Statistics and OECD Health Care Resources is analyzed with visual analytics methodology. Results: Findings show that the relationship between factors that influence resource allocation and health status differ based on the development status and geographic location of countries. In developing countries, there is a significant relationship between the number of hospitals and absence from work due to perceived poor health. Medical resource allocation is positively associated with health status perception in countries where the allocation is proportional to incidence of diseases. Among the various medical resources, medical personnel are the most important factor in both developing and developed countries in influencing the positive perceived health status of the population. Conclusions: With more healthcare resources people's life expectancy should increase, and overall mortality should decline. This study offers several implications for the future. Governments can take differential actions based on their citizens' needs to improve their perceived health status. In general, there should be an emphasis on allocation of human medical resources, rather than medical equipment. Businesses should invest more in healthcare education to be able to implement and administer government health policies. Fishing boat laws in Korea require fishing boats to be equipped with a location transmitter. Approximately 91% of registered fishing boats have V-pass terminals, whereas those with a gross tonnage of 10 t or more have either V-pass or automatic identification system (AIS) terminals (or use both). Most navigators, including the fishing boat location transmitter, rely on the satellite signals provided by the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) without considering the accuracy of the navigation instruments that indicate ship location. Many scholars are conducting research to analyze the accuracy of GNSS locations through continuous experiments; however, few of them focus on fishing boat location transmitters. Particularly, the location accuracy of V-pass equipment is unknown. Notably, the V-pass and AIS terminals used in fishing boats are mainly designed to locate fishing boats in need of assistance following a marine accident rather than to provide information on approaching ships and preventing collisions. Therefore, this study aimed to compare GNSS location storage data extracted from the location transmitter (V-pass and AIS terminal) of the accident fishing boat with the DGPS location information from the Electronic Chart Display and Information System to check the position error and use it for accident analysis and investigation.
