3. Magnetizing weak links by time-dependent spin-orbit interactions: momentum conserving and non-conserving processes

Rashba spin-orbit interactions generated by time-dependent electric fields acting on weak links (that couple together non-magnetic macroscopic leads) can magnetize the junction. The Rashba spin-orbit interaction that affects the spins of electrons tunneling through the weak links changes their momentum concomitantly. We establish the connection between the magnetization flux induced by processes that conserve the momentum and the magnetization created by tunneling events that do not. Control of the induced magnetization can be achieved by tuning the polarization of the AC electric field responsible for the spin-orbit Rashba interaction (e.g., from being circular to linear), by changing the applied bias voltage, and by varying the degree of a gate voltage-induced asymmetry of the device., Comment: 11 pages, 3 figures

4. Do LLMs Provide Links to Code Similar to what they Generate? A Study with Gemini and Bing CoPilot

Large Language Models (LLMs) are currently used for various software development tasks, including generating code snippets to solve specific problems. Unlike reuse from the Web, LLMs are limited in providing provenance information about the generated code, which may have important trustworthiness and legal consequences. While LLM-based assistants may provide external links that are "related" to the generated code, we do not know how relevant such links are. This paper presents the findings of an empirical study assessing the extent to which 243 and 194 code snippets, across six programming languages, generated by Bing CoPilot and Google Gemini, likely originate from the links provided by these two LLM-based assistants. The study leverages automated code similarity assessments with thorough manual analysis. The study's findings indicate that the LLM-based assistants provide a mix of relevant and irrelevant links having a different nature. Specifically, although 66% of the links from Bing CoPilot and 28% from Google Gemini are relevant, LLMs-based assistants still suffer from serious "provenance debt".

5. Resilience of LTE-A/5G-NR links Against Transient Electromagnetic Interference

This paper presents a comparative analysis of long-term evolution advanced (LTE-A) and fifth-generation new radio (5G-NR), focusing on the effects of Transient Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) caused by catenary-pantograph contact in a railway environment. We developed a software-defined radio (SDR)-based prototype for the performance evaluation of LTE-A and 5G-NR links in the presence of transient interference. The results show that both links experience considerable degradation due to interference at different center frequencies. Performance degradation is proportional to the gain of interference. 6. A Systematic Method for Optimum Biomedical Wireless Power Transfer using Inductive Links in Area-Constrained Implants

In the context of implantable bioelectronics, this work provides new insights into maximizing biomedical wireless power transfer (BWPT) via the systematic development of inductive links. This approach addresses the specific challenges of power transfer efficiency (PTE) optimization within the area constraints of bio-implants embedded in tissue. Key contributions include the derivation of an optimal self-inductance with S-parameter-based analyses leading to the co-design of planar spiral coils and L-section impedance matching networks. To validate the proposed design methodology, two coil prototypes -- one symmetric (type-1) and one asymmetric (type-2) -- were fabricated and tested for PTE in pork tissue. Targeting a 20 MHz design frequency, the type-1 coil demonstrated a state-of-the-art PTE of $\sim$ 4\% (channel length = 15 mm) with a return loss (RL) $>$ 20 dB on both the input and output sides, within an area constraint of $<$ 18 $ \times $ 18 mm$^{2}$. In contrast, the type-2 coil achieved a PTE of $\sim$ 2\% with an RL $>$ 15 dB, for a smaller receiving coil area of $<$ 5x5 mm$^{2}$ for the same tissue environment. To complement the coils, we demonstrate a 65 nm test chip with an integrated energy harvester, which includes \asif{a} 30-stage rectifier and low-dropout regulator (LDO), producing a stable $\sim$ 1V DC output within tissue medium, matching theoretical predictions and simulations. Furthermore, we provide a robust and comprehensive guideline for advancing efficient inductive links for various BWPT applications, with shared resources in GitHub available for utilization by the broader community.

7. Heralded entanglement of on-demand spin-wave solid-state quantum memories for multiplexed quantum network links

The ability to distribute heralded entanglement between distant matter nodes is a primitive for the implementation of large-scale quantum networks. Some of the most crucial requirements for future applications include high heralding rates at telecom wavelengths, multiplexed operation and on-demand retrieval of stored excitations for synchronization of separate quantum links. Despite tremendous progress in various physical systems, the demonstration of telecom-heralded entanglement between quantum nodes featuring both multiplexed operation and on-demand retrieval remains elusive. In this work, we combine narrowband parametric photon-pair sources and solid-state quantum memories based on rare-earth doped crystals to demonstrate telecom heralded entanglement between spatially separated spin-wave quantum memories with fully adjustable recall time and temporal multiplexing of 15 modes. In a first experiment, the storage in the spin-state is conditioned on the entanglement heralding. We take advantage of the control over readout pulse phase to achieve feed-forward conditional phase-shifts on the stored photons depending on which heralding detector clicked. We exploit this effect to double the entanglement heralding rate for a given quantum state up to \SI{500}{\cps}, with a measured positive concurrence by up to 6 standard deviations. In a second experiment, we simulate the communication time of a long-distance link by implementing an unconditional storage scheme with a dead-time of \SI{100}{\micro\second}, leading to an entanglement rate of \SI{22}{\cps} per heralding detector, increased by a factor of 15 thanks to temporal multiplexing. In this paper, we define grid homology for singular links in lens spaces and use it to construct a resolution cube for knot Floer homology of regular links in lens spaces. The results will first be proven over $\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$ and then extended to be over $\mathbb{Z}$ via a sign assignment. A broad range of technologies rely on remote inference, wherein data acquired is conveyed over a communication channel for inference in a remote server. Communication between the participating entities is often carried out over rate-limited channels, necessitating data compression for reducing latency. While deep learning facilitates joint design of the compression mapping along with encoding and inference rules, existing learned compression mechanisms are static, and struggle in adapting their resolution to changes in channel conditions and to dynamic links. To address this, we propose Adaptive Rate Task-Oriented Vector Quantization (ARTOVeQ), a learned compression mechanism that is tailored for remote inference over dynamic links. ARTOVeQ is based on designing nested codebooks along with a learning algorithm employing progressive learning. We show that ARTOVeQ extends to support low-latency inference that is gradually refined via successive refinement principles, and that it enables the simultaneous usage of multiple resolutions when conveying high-dimensional data. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed scheme yields remote deep inference that operates with multiple rates, supports a broad range of bit budgets, and facilitates rapid inference that gradually improves with more bits exchanged, while approaching the performance of single-rate deep quantization methods., Comment: 13 pages, 12 figures

Pseudo links are equivalence classes under Reidemeister-type moves of link diagrams containing crossings with undefined over and under information. In this paper, we extend the Kauffman bracket and Jones polynomials from planar pseudo links to pseudo links in the annulus and in the torus, and their respective lifts from the three-space to the solid torus and the thickened torus. Moreover, since annular and toroidal pseudo links can be represented as mixed links in the three-sphere, we also introduce the respective Kauffman bracket and Jones polynomials for their planar mixed link diagrams. Our work provides new tools for the study of annular and toroidal pseudo links.

12. Characterizations of knot groups and knot symmetric quandles of surface-links

The Artin-Alexander theorem characterizes the knot groups of classical links, providing necessary and sufficient conditions for a group to be the knot group of some classical link. This result was shown using the closed braid method. Gonzalez-Acuna and Kamada independently extended this characterization to the knot groups of orientable surface-links. Kamada applied the closed 2-dimensional braid method to show this result. In this paper, we generalize these results to characterize the knot groups of surface-links, including non-orientable ones. Our approach relies on a plat form presentation for surface-links. Furthermore, we show a similar characterization for the knot symmetric quandles of surface-links. 13. Capacity of Hierarchical Secure Coded Gradient Aggregation with Straggling Communication Links

The growing privacy concerns in distributed learning have led to the widespread adoption of secure aggregation techniques in distributed machine learning systems, such as federated learning. Motivated by a coded gradient aggregation problem in a user-helper-master hierarchical network setting with straggling communication links, we formulate a new secure hierarchical coded gradient aggregation problem. In our setting, \( K \) users communicate with the master through an intermediate layer of \( N \) helpers, who can communicate with each other. With a resiliency threshold of \( N_r \) for straggling communication links, and at most \( T \) colluding helpers and any number of colluding users, the master aims to recover the sum of all users' gradients while remaining unaware of any individual gradient that exceeds the expected sum. In addition, helpers cannot infer more about users' gradients than what is already known by the colluding users. We propose an achievable scheme where users' upload messages are based on a globally known Vandermonde matrix, and helper communication is facilitated using an extended Vandermonde matrix with special structural properties. A matching converse bound is also derived, establishing the optimal result for this hierarchical coded gradient aggregation problem.

15. Hard diagrams of split links

Deformations of knots and links in ambient space can be studied combinatorially on their diagrams via local modifications called Reidemeister moves. While it is well-known that, in order to move between equivalent diagrams with Reidemeister moves, one sometimes needs to insert excess crossings, there are significant gaps between the best known lower and upper bounds on the required number of these added crossings. In this article, we study the problem of turning a diagram of a split link into a split diagram, and we show that there exist split links with diagrams requiring an arbitrarily large number of such additional crossings. More precisely, we provide a family of diagrams of split links, so that any sequence of Reidemeister moves transforming a diagram with $c$ crossings into a split diagram requires going through a diagram with $\Omega(\sqrt{c})$ extra crossings. Our proof relies on the framework of bubble tangles, as introduced by Lunel and de Mesmay, and a technique of Chambers and Liokumovitch to turn homotopies into isotopies in the context of Riemannian geometry.

In an earlier note [arXiv:2301.00295] it was shown that there is an upper bound to the number of disjoint Hopf links (and certain related links) that can be embedded in the unit cube where there is a fixed separation required between the components within each copy of the Hopf link. The arguments relied on multi-linear properties of linking number and certain other link invariants. Here we produce a very similar upper bound for all non-trivial links by a more-general, entirely geometric, argument (but one which, unlike the original, has no analog in higher dimensions). Shortly after the initial paper, [arXiv:2308.08064] proved lower bounds which broadly cover this wider class.

19. Keep the Ball Rolling in AI-Assisted Language Teaching: Illuminating the Links between Productive Immunity, Work Passion, Job Satisfaction, Occupational Success, and Psychological Well-Being among EFL Teachers

Artificial intelligence (AI) revolutionizes education by fundamentally altering the methods of teaching and processes of learning. Given such circumstances, it is essential to take into account the mental and psychological well-being of teachers as the architects of education. This research investigated the links between teacher immunity (TI), work passion (WP), job satisfaction (JS), occupational well-being (OW-B) and psychological well-being (PW-B) in the context of AI-assisted language learning. In order to achieve this objective, 392 Iranian teachers of English as a foreign language (EFL) were given the Language Teacher Immunity Instrument, the Work Passion Scale, the Job Satisfaction Questionnaire, the Occupational Well-Being Scale, and the Psychological Well-Being at Work Scale. By using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, the study identified and quantified the impacts of TI, WP, JS, OW-B, and PW-B via data screening. The findings emphasize the crucial role that TI and WP play in providing a balance in teachers' JS, OW-B, and PW-B while applying AI in their language instruction. The broad ramifications of this research are explored.

Free-space quantum key distribution (QKD) represents a groundbreaking advancement in secure communication, enabling secure key exchange over vast distances and offering robust encryption for the future quantum internet. However, the compatibility between fiber and free-space infrastructures continues to pose challenges for QKD protocols. Indeed, free-space and fiber-based networks commonly use different wavelengths and qubits encoding schemes. On the one hand, free-space QKD typically exploits visible light for its beneficial beam divergence compared to longer wavelengths, and polarization encoding for its robustness against turbulence. On the other hand, fiber-based QKD employs infrared light, particularly the C-band, because it shows the minimum losses with silica fibers, and time-bin encoding, due to polarization instability in optical fibers. In our study, we demonstrate the viability of a time-bin encoded QKD protocol operating in the C-band through horizontal turbulent free-space channels. We test the setup into a 50 m and a 500 m long links, achieving an average secure key rate of, respectively, 793 kbps and 40 kbps over several hours of measurements. The results encourage further exploration of the interoperability between free-space and fiber-based infrastructures, opening new possibilities for connecting terminal users with satellites in hybrid infrastructures., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures

The Web and its main tools (Google, Wikipedia, Facebook, Twitter) deeply raise and renew fundamental questions, that everyone asks almost every day: Is this information or content true? Can I trust this author or source? These questions are not new, they have been the same with books, newspapers, broadcasting and television, and, more fundamentally, in every human interpersonal communication. This paper is focused on two scientific problems on this issue. The first one is theoretical: to address this issue, many concepts have been used in library and information sciences, communication and psychology. The links between these concepts are not clear: sometimes two concepts are considered as synonymous, sometimes as very different. The second one is historical: sources like Wikipedia deeply challenge the epistemic evaluation of information sources, compared to previous modes of information production. This paper proposes an integrated and simple model considering the relation between a user, a document and an author as human communication. It reduces the problem to three concepts: credibility as a characteristic granted to information depending on its truth-value; trust as the ability to produce credible information; authority when the power to influence of an author is accepted, i.e., when readers accept that the source can modify their opinion, knowledge and decisions. The model describes also two kinds of relationships between the three concepts: an upward link and a downward link. The model is confronted with findings of empirical research on Wikipedia in particular.

23. Topological and bilipschitz types of complex surface singularities and their links

In this paper, we prove that two normal complex surface germs that are inner bilipschitz--but not necessarily orientation-preserving--homeomorphic, have in fact the same oriented topological type and the same minimal plumbing graph. Along the way, we show that the oriented homeomorphism type of an isolated complex surface singularity germ determines the oriented homeomorphism type of its link, providing a converse to the classical Conical Structure Theorem. 24. On the non-submodularity of the problem of adding links to minimize the effective graph resistance

We consider the optimisation problem of adding $k$ links to a given network, such that the resulting effective graph resistance is as small as possible. The problem was recently proven to be NP-hard, such that optimal solutions obtained with brute-force methods require exponentially many computation steps and thus are infeasible for any graph of realistic size. Therefore, it is common in such cases to use a simple greedy algorithm to obtain an approximation of the optimal solution. It is known that if the considered problem is submodular, the quality of the greedy solution can be guaranteed. However, it is known that the optimisation problem we are facing, is not submodular. For such cases one can use the notion of generalized submodularity, which is captured by the submodularity ratio $\gamma$. A performance bound, which is a function of $\gamma$, also exists in case of generalized submodularity. In this paper we give an example of a family of graphs where the submodularity ratio approaches zero, implying that the solution quality of the greedy algorithm cannot be guaranteed. Furthermore, we show that the greedy algorithm does not always yield the optimal solution and demonstrate that even for a small graph with 10 nodes, the ratio between the optimal and the greedy solution can be as small as 0.878., Comment: 21 pages, 14 figures

In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital twins (DT) and 6G networks, the integration of large language models (LLMs) presents a novel approach to network management. This paper explores the application of LLMs in managing 6G-empowered DT networks, with a focus on optimizing data retrieval and communication efficiency in smart city scenarios. The proposed framework leverages LLMs for intelligent DT problem analysis and radio resource management (RRM) in fully autonomous way without any manual intervention. Our proposed framework -- LINKs, builds up a lazy loading strategy which can minimize transmission delay by selectively retrieving the relevant data. Based on the data retrieval plan, LLMs transform the retrieval task into an numerical optimization problem and utilizing solvers to build an optimal RRM, ensuring efficient communication across the network. Lorenz links and T-links are equivalent families of links by Birman and Kofman. Lorenz links are periodic orbits of the Lorenz system. T-links are links given by certain positive braids. Birman, Williams, and Franks proved that every Lorenz link has a positive braid with at least one full twist as a minimal braid. In this paper we study the geometric types of the Lorenz links from their minimal braid perspective. First, we compute their minimal braids explicitly in terms of the parameters of the T-links. We conclude that they are in equivalence with a family of links, called V-links, similar to a result of Birman and Kofman. Furthermore, we find an explicit relation to obtain an element of one of these families from the other. Then, we study conditions on positive braids with at least one full twist to find their geometric type. Finally, we apply these conditions on V-links to find new and generalize some families of satellite and hyperbolic T-links., Comment: 25 pages, 8 figures

30. Racialized Early Grade (Mis)Behavior: The Links between Same-Race/Ethnicity Teachers and Discipline in Elementary School

Studies persistently show disparities in exclusionary discipline across racial/ethnic groups in U.S. schools. Using administrative data from kindergarteners through fifth graders in Indiana, we examine the effects of student-teacher race/ethnicity matching on disciplinary outcomes. We find that Black students exhibit lower rates of suspension and expulsion when they study with Black teachers--driven mainly by fewer defiance and profanity offenses. By contrast, for Latinx and White students, having a teacher of the same race/ethnicity is not associated with suspension and expulsion. In light of the shortage of Black teachers in the teacher workforce, our findings underscore the vulnerability of Black students to exclusionary discipline in the early stages of schooling.

31. Curriculum Analytics of Course Choices: Links with Academic Performance

- Abstract
In a higher education context, students are expected to take charge of their learning by deciding "what" to learn and "how" to learn. While the learning analytics (LA) community has seen increasing research on the "how" to learn part (i.e., researching methods for supporting students in their learning journey), the "what" to learn part is still underinvestigated. We present a case study of curriculum analytics and its application to a dataset of 243 students of the bachelor's program in the broad discipline of health sciences to explore the effects of course choices on students' academic performance. Using curriculum metrics such as grading stringency, course temporal position, and duration, we investigated how course choices differed between high- and low-performing students using both temporal and sequential analysis methods. We found that high-performing students were likely to pick an elective course of low difficulty. It appeared that these students were more strategic in terms of their course choices than their low-performing peers. Generally, low-performing students seemed to have made suboptimal choices when selecting elective courses; e.g., when they picked an elective course of high difficulty, they were less likely to pick a following course of low difficulty. The findings of this study have design implications for researchers, program directors, and coordinators, because they can use the results to (i) update the course sequencing, (ii) guide students about course choices based on their current GPA (such as through course recommendation dashboards), (iii) identify bottleneck courses, and (iv) assist higher education institutions in planning a more balanced course roadmap to help students manage their workload effectively.

32. Early Teacher Identity and Personality: Exploring the Links through a Mixed Method Approach

- Abstract
This study investigated the relationship between self-perceived personality and self-perceived teacher identity (TI). With a mixed-method approach, we collected both quantitative (N=214) and qualitative data (N=30) to examine the relationship between TI and personality traits. Quantitative data were collected using the Big Five Personality Traits and TI scales. Qualitative data were collected through focus group interviews. To analyze the quantitative data, means were compared, and correlations were calculated. Qualitative data were analyzed through an inductive content analysis in which patterns and themes were identified. The results indicate that pre-service language teachers are aware of the dynamic feature of personality in general terms; however, they are not aware of TI as a concept and its attributes. A significant relationship between self-perceived TI and self-perceived personality traits is among the results of the current study. The agreeableness and openness to new experiences personality traits are highly correlated with the TI scores.

The China Space Station (CSS) is currently in orbit and carries the high-precision optical atomic clock with stability of approximately $2.0 \times 10^{-15} / \sqrt{\tau}$ in its experiment module. We have developed a model to determine the gravity potential (GP) based on the gravity frequency shift equation and have created both one-way and dual-frequency transfer models up to $c^{-4}$. These models consider effects from the troposphere, ionosphere, and solid Earth tides. The proposed model is suitable for measurements at the magnitude of $10^{-19}$. Based on the CSS mission, we conducted the simulation experiments. The results indicate that when processing the simulation frequency signal using the proposed model, we can obtain the GP with the accuracies of $ (1.13\pm0.71)\,\mathrm{m^2/s^2}$, $ (0.09\pm0.89)\,\mathrm{m^2/s^2}$, and $(0.66\pm1.18)\,\mathrm{m^2/s^2}$ for cutoff elevation angles of $5^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$ and $15^{\circ}$, respectively. With the high-precision optical atomic clock onboard the CSS, the proposed model enables us to measure the GP differences in the magnitude of centimeter-level accuracy.

A knitted surface is a surface with boundary properly embedded in $D^2 \times B^2$, which is a generalization of a braided surface. A knitted surface is called a 2-dimensional knit if its boundary is the closure of a trivial braid. From a 2-dimensional knit $S$, we obtain a surface-link in $\mathbb{R}^4$ by taking the closure of $S$. We show that any surface-link is ambiently isotopic to the closure of some 2-dimensional knit. Further, we consider another type of the closure of a knitted surface, called the plat closure. It is known that any trivial surface-knot is ambiently isotopic to the plat closure of a knitted surface of degree 2. We show that the plat closure of any knitted surface of degree 2 is a trivial surface-link, and any trivial surface-link is ambiently isotopic to the plat closure of a knitted surface of degree $2$. 36. Soft edges: the many links between soft and edge modes

Boundaries in gauge theory and gravity give rise to symmetries and charges at both finite and asymptotic distance. Due to their structural similarities, it is often held that soft modes are some kind of asymptotic limit of edge modes. Here, we show in Maxwell theory that there is an arguably more interesting relationship between the \emph{asymptotic} symmetries and their charges, on one hand, and their \emph{finite-distance} counterparts, on the other, without the need of a limit. Key to this observation is to embed the finite region in the global spacetime and identify edge modes as dynamical $\rm{U}(1)$-reference frames for dressing subregion variables. Distinguishing \emph{intrinsic} and \emph{extrinsic} frames, according to whether they are built from field content in- or outside the region, we find that non-trivial corner symmetries arise only for extrinsic frames. Further, the asymptotic-to-finite relation requires asymptotically charged ones (like Wilson lines). Such frames, called \emph{soft edges}, extend to asymptotia and realize the corner charge algebra by ``pulling in'' the asymptotic one from infinity. Realizing an infinite-dimensional algebra requires a new set of \emph{soft boundary conditions}, relying on the distinction between extrinsic and intrinsic data. We identify the subregion Goldstone mode as the relational observable between extrinsic and intrinsic frames and clarify the meaning of vacuum degeneracy. We also connect the asymptotic memory effect with a more operational \emph{quasi-local} one. A main conclusion is that the relationship between asymptotia and finite distance is \emph{frame-dependent}; each choice of soft edge mode probes distinct cross-boundary data of the global theory. Our work combines the study of boundary symmetries with the program of dynamical reference frames and we anticipate that core insights extend to Yang-Mills theory and gravity., Comment: 69 pages, 13 figures

Quantum link models (QLMs) are generalizations of Wilson's lattice gauge theory formulated with finite-dimensional link Hilbert spaces. In certain cases, the non-Abelian Gauss Law constraint can be exactly solved, and the gauge invariant subspace embedded onto local spin Hamiltonians for efficient quantum simulation. In $(1+1)d$ previous studies of the $SO(3)$ QLM coupled to adjoint fermionic matter have been shown to reflect key properties of QCD and nuclear physics, including distinct confining/deconfining phases and hadronic bound states. We extend the model to $(2+1)d$ dimensions for the first time, and report on our initial results. We review the construction of gauge-invariant state space for the proposed models, and study the single-plaquette ground state via exact-diagonalisation. 38. Ligand cross-links as a design element in oligo- and polyMOFs

Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) constructed using cross-linked oligomeric or polymeric ligands (oligoMOFs and polyMOFs respectively) have so far relied on a handful of canonical structural blueprints, in which the cross-links have not played a significant role in determining structure. In this study, we show that cross-links between terephthalate ligands in dabco-based Zn-MOFs (DMOFs) can exert control over the overall phase landscape of resulting oligo- and polyMOFs. We find that cross-links can direct the overall topology of the resulting MOF (pcu vs. kag) based on their length or rigidity, and can influence the phase transformation behavior of the pcu network. We also show the first example of tethered ligand dimers adopting a different MOF structure to the analogous trimer and polymer. Understanding the influence of cross-links on the formation of these MOFs will help guide the design of future MOF-polymer hybrid materials.

39. Unveiling the Links between EFL Learners' Perceived L2 Writing Classroom Goal Structures, Engagement with Teacher Written Corrective Feedback, and Self-Reported Writing Proficiency through Structural Equation Modeling

This study employed structural equation modeling (SEM) to explore the connections between EFL learners' perceptions of L2 writing classroom goal structures, engagement with teacher written corrective feedback (WCF), and self-reported writing proficiency. Data were collected from 590 EFL college students in Taiwan using the Learners' Perceived L2 Writing Classroom Goal Structures Scale and the Student Engagement with Teacher Written Corrective Feedback Scale. The results indicated a predominant preference for mastery goal structures over performance goal structures in the classroom. Among the types of engagement with teacher WCF, behavioral engagement emerged as the most prevalent, followed by affective, cognitive, and social engagement. Notably, affective engagement was found to predict behavioral, social, and cognitive engagement, with behavioral engagement serving as a mediator between affective and cognitive engagement. Furthermore, cognitive engagement was directly linked to writing proficiency, a key finding that highlights its importance in the learning process. Other forms of engagement were shown to facilitate this relationship. The study contributes to our understanding of the interplay between classroom goal structures, engagement with teacher WCF, and writing proficiency. It offers valuable insights for English teachers on how to shape classroom goal structures and foster a learning environment that promotes active engagement, particularly in the context of feedback utilization.

I investigated the capability of medial quandle, quandle whose operation satisfying that $(a_1*b_1)*(a_2*b_2)=(a_1*a_2)*(b_1*b_2)$, to detect causality in (2+1)-dimensional globally hyperbolic spacetime by determining if they can distinguished the connected sum of two Hopf links from an infinite series of relevant three-component links constructed by Allen and Swenberg in 2020, who suggested that any link invariant must be able to distinguish those links for them to detect causality in the given setting. I show that these quandles fail to do so as long as $a\sim b\Leftrightarrow a*b=a$ defines an equivalence relation. The Alexander quandles is an example that this result can apply to. Inspired by this result, I also derived a generalized theorem about the coloring of medial quandles on a specific type of tangles, which help to determine whether this quandles can distinguish between a wider range of knots and links or not.

In this paper we investigate the relationship between links in bridge position and plat presentations. We will show that the Hilden double coset classes of plat presentations of a link are equivalent to bridge positions of the link up to bridge isotopy. This correspondence allows us to reframe algebraic questions about plat presentations in terms of bridge positions. We demonstrate some results about both plat presentations and links in bridge position using this correspondence. For instance, we reprove that there is only one Hilden double coset class of the n-bridge unknot in $\mathbb{S}^3.$ We also show that there is only a single double coset class for torus knots in plat position. The theory of motivic superpolynomials is developed, including its extension to algebraic links, relations to $L$-functions of plane curve singularities, the justification of the motivic versions of Weak Riemann Hypothesis and DAHA recurrences for iterated torus links. The DAHA construction is provided. Applications are considered to affine Springer fibers and compactified Jacobians of type $A_n$ in the most general case (for arbitrary characteristic polynomials), rho-invariants of algebraic knots, motivic formulas for the DAHA-Jones polynomials, including the case of $A_1$. The key theme is the conjectural coincidence of motivic superpolynomials with the DAHA ones, which can be interpreted as a far-reaching generalization of the Shuffle Conjecture. The 2nd connection conjecture links the superpolynomials to the $L$-functions. DAHA theory is adjusted to the definition and main properties of superpolynomials. This paper investigates the relationship between the signature and the crossing number of knots and links. We refine existing theorems and provide a comprehensive classification of links with specific properties, particularly those with signatures that deviate by a fixed amount from their crossing numbers. The main results include the identification of all links for which the sum of the signature and crossing number equals 2, which are shown to be closures of positive 3-braids. Additionally, we explore the implications of these findings in the context of band surgeries and their applications to vortex knots and DNA topology.

We collect and discuss various results on an important family of knots and links called Turk's head knots and links $Th (p,q)$. In the mathematical literature, they also appear under different names such as rosette knots and links or weaving knots and links. Unless being the unknot or the alternating torus links $T(2,q)$, the Turk's head links $Th (p,q)$ are all known to be alternating, fibered, hyperbolic, invertible, non-split, periodic, and prime. The Turk's head links $Th (p,q)$ are also both positive and negative amphichiral if $p$ is chosen to be odd. Moreover, we highlight and present several more results, focusing on Turk's head knots $Th (3,q)$. We finally list several open problems and conjectures for Turk's head knots and links. The set of real-analytic Legendrian links with respect to the standard contact structure on the 3-sphere $S^3$ corresponds both to the set of totally tangential $\mathbb{C}$-links as defined by Rudolph and to the set of stable knotted field lines in Bateman electromagnetic fields of Hopf type. It is known that every isotopy class has a real-analytic Legendrian representative, so that every link type $L$ admits a holomorphic function $G:\mathbb{C}^2\to\mathbb{C}$ whose zeros intersect $S^3$ tangentially in $L$ and there is a Bateman electromagnetic field $\mathbf{F}$ with closed field lines in the shape of $L$. However, so far the family of torus links are the only examples where explicit expressions of $G$ and $\mathbf{F}$ have been found. In this paper, we present an algorithm that finds for every given link type $L$ a real-analytic Legendrian representative, parametrised in terms of trigonometric polynomials. We then prove that (good candidates for) examples of $G$ and $\mathbf{F}$ can be obtained by solving a system of linear equations, which is homogeneous in the case of $G$ and inhomogeneous in the case of $\mathbf{F}$. We also use the real-analytic Legendrian parametrisations to study the dynamics of knots in Bateman electromagnetic fields of Hopf type. The new generation of domain-specific AI accelerators is characterized by rapidly increasing demands for bulk data transfers, as opposed to small, latency-critical cache line transfers typical of traditional cache-coherent systems. In this paper, we address this critical need by introducing the FlooNoC Network-on-Chip (NoC), featuring very wide, fully Advanced eXtensible Interface (AXI4) compliant links designed to meet the massive bandwidth needs at high energy efficiency. At the transport level, non-blocking transactions are supported for latency tolerance. Additionally, a novel end-to-end ordering approach for AXI4, enabled by a multi-stream capable Direct Memory Access (DMA) engine simplifies network interfaces and eliminates inter-stream dependencies. Furthermore, dedicated physical links are instantiated for short, latency-critical messages. A complete end-to-end reference implementation in 12nm FinFET technology demonstrates the physical feasibility and power performance area (PPA) benefits of our approach. Utilizing wide links on high levels of metal, we achieve a bandwidth of 645 Gbps per link and a total aggregate bandwidth of 103 Tbps for an 8x4 mesh of processors cluster tiles, with a total of 288 RISC-V cores. The NoC imposes a minimal area overhead of only 3.5% per compute tile and achieves a leading-edge energy efficiency of 0.15 pJ/B/hop at 0.8 V. Compared to state-of-the-art NoCs, our system offers three times the energy efficiency and more than double the link bandwidth. Furthermore, compared to a traditional AXI4-based multi-layer interconnect, our NoC achieves a 30% reduction in area, corresponding to a 47% increase in GFLOPSDP within the same floorplan.
