The article discusses strategies that speech-language pathologists (SLP) can employ to help patients who suffered from traumatic brain injury (TBI) deal with somatic symptoms. Topics discussed include the most common somatic symptoms exhibited by TBI patients, the impact of patients' inability to manage somatic symptoms on their cognitive recovery and the advantages of using symptom tracking in TBI. Also discussed are the functions of mind miming when dealing with TBI somatic symptoms.
