Battlefield surveillance radar is usually 2-D radar, which cannot realize target three-dimensional localization, leading to poor resolution for the air target in the elevation dimension. Previous researchers have used the Traditional Height Finder Radar (HFR) or multiple 2-D radar networking to estimate the target three-dimensional location. However, all of them face the problems of high cost, poor real-time performance and high requirement of space–time registration. In this paper, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) with low cost are introduced into the 2-D radar to realize the target three-dimensional localization. Taking advantage of the wide beam of 2-D radar in the elevation dimension, several Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) carrying RISs are set in the receiving beam to form multiple auxiliary measurement channels. In addition, the traditional 2-D radar measurements combined with the auxiliary channel measurements are used to realize the target three-dimensional localization by solving a nonlinear least square problem with a convex optimization method. For the proposed RIS-assisted target three-dimensional localization problem, the Cramer–Rao Lower Bound (CRLB) is derived to measure the target localization accuracy. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed 3-D localization method, and the influences of the number, the positions and the site errors of the RISs on the localization accuracy are covered. In this paper, to track maneuvering unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) in scenarios with clutter, we propose a novel method based on the probabilistic data association (PDA) algorithm and Rao-Blackwellized particle filter (RBPF) algorithm, and we further improve the tracking performance by Max-Q criterion-based waveform selection. This work develops a maneuvering target model in the context of clutter, integrating linear and nonlinear states as well as observations with false alarms. In order to jointly tackle the mixed-state tracking problem, the PDA algorithm is integrated into the RBPF framework. This allows it to be used with the complex nonlinear and linear hybrid system and helps to minimize the state dimensions of conventional particle filtering (PF). Additionally, by utilizing Q-learning principles, we provide a Max-Q-based criterion to select the waveform parameters, which guarantees low measurement errors and efficiently handles measurement uncertainties. Our simulation results show that the PDA-RBPF algorithm, which has a more appropriate tracking mechanism, produces results that are more accurate than those of the EKF or PF algorithms alone. Furthermore, the RMSE derived by the Max-Q-based criterion is smaller and more robust than that of other selection methods, as well as yielding a fixed waveform. Our proposed mechanism, which combines the concepts of PDA-RBPF and Max-Q waveform selection, performs well in target tracking tasks and exhibits relatively good performance over some existing ones. In the cutting process, there are many parameters that affect the cutting effect, and the same parameter has different degrees of influence on different performance indicators, which makes it difficult to select key parameters for parameter optimization and parameter combination evaluation while considering multiple performance indicators at the same time. The process of titanium alloy milling with an integrated end mill is studied herein. The values of cutting tool flank face wear and material removal rates are obtained with experimental and analytical methods. Numerical characteristics and causes of the cutting tool flank face wear at different stages are also analyzed. The dynamic, comprehensive evaluation method based on the double incentives model is used to evaluate the dynamic, comprehensive importance of cutting parameters in view of the problem of considering multiple performance indicators and the characteristics of the dynamic change in performance indicators in the cutting process. According to the result of a dynamic, comprehensive evaluation, the cutting parameters with the highest comprehensive importance are selected. Finally, the radar map is used to plot the comprehensive importance of the cutting parameters. The overall comprehensive importance of each cutting parameter is intuitively displayed as well. As a result of the research, the dynamic, comprehensive evaluation method based on the double incentives model has a good application value in the evaluation of tool performance in the cutting process and can quickly select the best tool performance parameter combination; it is established that the most comprehensive parameter is the cutting speed, and the cutting width is the second most important. The frequent occurrence of severe convective weather has certain adverse effects on the smart agriculture industry. To enhance the prediction of severe convective weather, the inversion model effectively fills radar reflectivity data gaps by leveraging geostationary satellite data, offering more comprehensive and accurate support for meteorological information in smart agriculture systems. Nevertheless, collaborative cross‐regional inversion driven by dispersed radar data faces challenges in efficiency, privacy, and model accuracy. To this end, we employ an U‐shaped residual network with an embedded light hybrid attention mechanism and utilize a federated averaging algorithm for efficient distributed training across multiple devices which could preserve the privacy of data from different locations, thereby improving inversion performance. In addition, to address the unbalanced nature of radar data, a weighted loss function is designed to enhance the model's sensitivity to high radar reflectivity. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model exhibits a certain level of improvement in evaluating radar reflectivity inversion performance across different thresholds compared to other models, thus substantiating the superiority of the proposed approach. The Eastern Pacific Cloud Aerosol Precipitation Experiment (EPCAPE) was a year-round campaign conducted by the US Department of Energy at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, CA, USA, with a focus on characterizing atmospheric processes at a coastal location. The ground-based prototype of a new Ka-, W-, and G-band (35.75, 94.88, and 238.8 GHz) profiling atmospheric radar, named CloudCube, which was developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, took part in the experiment during 6 weeks in March and April 2023. This article describes the unique data sets that were obtained during the field campaign from a variety of marine clouds and light precipitation. These are, to the best of the authors' knowledge, the first observations of atmospheric clouds using simultaneous multifrequency measurements including 238.8 GHz. These data sets therefore provide an exceptional opportunity to study and analyze hydrometeors with diameters in the millimeter- and submillimeter size range that can be used to better understand cloud and precipitation structure, formation, and evolution. The data sets referenced in this article are intended to provide a complete, extensive, and high-quality collection of G-band data in the form of Doppler spectra and Doppler moments. In addition, Ka-band and W-band reflectivity and Ka-, W-, and G-band reflectivity ratio profiles are included for several cases of interest on 6 different days. Aiming at the current situation of lack of environment and equipment in radar training, a radar operation training method based on the combination of virtual and real is proposed. Firstly, the connotation of the concept of virtual-real combination is analyzed. This study utilizes comprehensive observational data from a stratiform mixed-cloud precipitation event in Liupan Mountains, combined with ground-based millimeter-wave cloud radar (CR), micro rain radar (MRR), and microwave radiometer (MR) data, to study the evolution characteristics and conversion efficiency of precipitation particles in the ice–water mixed layer, melting layer, and below these layers during the formation and dissipation of precipitation. The results show the following: (1) When precipitation particles occupy more than 20% of cloud layers detected by cloud radar, the ice–water mixed cloud layer descends and evolves into a precipitating cloud. (2) During surface precipitation periods, the proportion of raindrops forming precipitation was equivalent to that of small-scale precipitation particles in the cloud layers. The proportion of precipitation particles in the cloud layers with temperatures below 0 °C averaged 25%. Ice-phase particles within the bright band (BB) melted, coalesced, and grew into larger precipitation particles, increasing their proportion to 55%. (3) After surface precipitation ended, the water content and precipitation rate of the cloud layer were 60% and 52% of those during the precipitation process, respectively. The proportion of small-scale precipitation particles in the cloud layers was approximately half of that during the precipitation period. Spatial and temporal variation in the free electron concentration in the ionosphere affects SAR interferograms, in particular at low radar frequencies. In this work, the identification, estimation, and compensation of ionospheric path delay phases in PALSAR-3 and NISAR-L interferograms are discussed. Both of these L-band sensors simultaneously acquire SAR data in a main spectral band and in an additional, spectrally separated, narrower second band to support the mitigation of ionospheric path delays. The methods presented permit separating the dispersive and the non-dispersive phase terms based on the double-difference interferogram between the two available spectral bands and the differential interferogram of the main band. The change in extreme precipitation events in the conterminous United States (CONUS) has been of interest to the research communities in recent years for its intensification under environmental and climate change. Previous studies have not yet used sub-hourly precipitation observations to examine convective precipitation change over the CONUS. This study aims to fill the gap by examining convective precipitation, identified by radar reflectivity, in the CONUS using the state-of-the-art Multi-radar Multi-sensor data, operated at the NOAA/National Severe Storms Laboratory, with an unprecedentedly high spatial (1 km) and temporal (2 min) resolutions. These high-resolution data are expected to better capture the precipitation peak and the precipitation pattern. The results showed that in CONUS, precipitation reflectivity increased both in magnitude and the number of convective days from 2015 to 2021. For example, in 2019, 60% of areas showed an increase in the magnitude of precipitation, and the average number of convective days over CONUS has increased by 19%. Changes in precipitation also vary by season and region. This study highlights the need for continued monitoring and understanding of the evolving pattern of extreme precipitation in the CONUS, especially at sub-hourly frequency, as it exposes significant impacts on various sectors, including agriculture, infrastructure, and human health. The Cloud Profiling Radar (CPR) of the Earth Cloud, Aerosol and Radiation Explorer (EarthCARE) has a new capability to observe the Doppler velocity related to the vertical air motion of the terminal velocity of hydrometeors. The new observation from space will be used to evaluate and improve the model. Before the launch of EarthCARE, we need to develop a methodology for using the CPR data for model evaluations. In this study, we evaluated simulated data by a stretched version of the global non-hydrostatic model over Japan with a ground-based CPR using an instrument design similar to the EarthCARE CPR. We chose two cases with different precipitation events in September 2019 using two cloud microphysics schemes. We introduced the categorization method for evaluating microphysics using Doppler velocity. The results show that the liquid and solid phases of hydrometeors are divided in Doppler velocity, and the model's terminal velocities of rain, snow, and graupel categories can be evaluated with the observation. The results also show that the choice of microphysics scheme has a more significant impact than the dependence on precipitation cases. Radar observations of winter storms often exhibit locally enhanced linear features in reflectivity, sometimes labeled as snow bands. We have developed a new, objective method for detecting locally enhanced echo features in radar data from winter storms. In comparison to convective cells in warm season precipitation, these features are usually less distinct from the background echo and often have more fuzzy or feathered edges. This technique identifies both prominent, strong features and more subtle, faint features. A key difference from previous radar reflectivity feature detection algorithms is the combined use of two adaptive differential thresholds, one that decreases with increasing background values and one that increases with increasing background values. The algorithm detects features within a snow rate field rather than reflectivity and incorporates an underestimate and overestimate of feature areas to account for uncertainties in the detection. We demonstrate the technique on several examples from the US National Weather Service operational radar network. With the rapid development of terahertz radar technology, the electromagnetic device for terahertz radar cross-section (RCS) reduction is worth investigating. However, the existing research concentrates on the RCS reduction metasurface with fixed performance working in the microwave band. This paper proposes a terahertz dynamic coding metasurface integrated with vanadium dioxide (VO2) for dual-polarized, dual-band, and wide-angle RCS reduction. The simulation result indicates that by switching the state of the VO2 between insulator and metal, the metasurface can realize the effective RCS reduction at 0.18 THz to 0.24 THz and 0.21 THz to 0.39 THz under the left-handed and right-handed circularly polarized incident waves. When the polar and azimuth angles of the incident wave vary from 0° to 40° and 0° to 360° respectively, this metasurface can maintain a 10 dB RCS reduction. In electronic warfare, radar signal deinterleaving is a critical task. While many researchers have applied deep learning and utilised known radar classes to construct interleaved pulse sequences training sets for deinterleaving models, these models face challenges in distinguishing between known and unknown radar classes in open‐set scenarios. To address this challenge, the authors propose a novel model, the Reconstruction Bidirectional Recurrent Neural Network (RBi‐RNN). RBi‐RNN utilises input reconstruction and employs a joint training strategy incorporating cross‐entropy loss, reconstruction loss, and centre loss. These strategies aim to maximise inter‐class latent representation distances while minimising intra‐class disparities. By incorporating an open‐set recognition method based on extreme value theory, RBi‐RNN adapts to open‐set scenarios. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of RBi‐RNN over conventional models in both closed‐set and open‐set scenarios. In open‐set scenarios, it successfully discriminates between known and unknown radar signals within interleaved pulse sequences, deinterleaving known radar classes with high stability. Two‐dimensional direction‐of‐arrival (DoA) estimation in azimuth and elevation via radar systems equipped with uniform rectangular arrays (URAs) will play an important role in various application areas—most distinctively in future urban air mobility settings with unmanned aerial vehicles. A key factor is the fast and reliable provision of target detections in terms of range and DoA for safe autonomous operation of the vehicle using on‐board antenna arrays with compact installation size. The authors present a technique for improving the performance of DoA estimation using compressive sensing in conjunction with multiple‐input multiple‐output arrays with electronically steered beams in the transmit direction. The simulation study investigates the impact of different design considerations on radar signal processing performance. An optimisation of a radar system using electronic beamsteering in the transmit domain is presented numerically. Aiming at the quantitative evaluation requirements of radar second-order intermodulation false alarm (SIFA) effect, a radar SIFA effect model is established from the field-circuit coupling mechanism, and the parameter test method of the model is given. Taking a certain type of radar as the test object, the SIFA effect test is carried out by using the method of electromagnetic injection equivalent substitution irradiation. The results show that the tested radar will produce a SIFA signal higher than the selected sensitive level when the frequency difference of dual-frequency electromagnetic interference (EMI) is within 3 MHz and the frequency offset is within ±200 MHz. Using the model parameters of the SIFA interference effect measured in the experiment, it is assumed that they do not change with the interference field strength. Combined with the SIFA interference field strength of the tested radar and the single frequency blocking critical interference field strength, the effect model can evaluate the degree of radar SIFA interference. Interrupted sampling repeater jamming (ISRJ) is an advanced form of coherent jamming, and the suppression of this jamming has become a critical problem for modern radar electronic countermeasures. In this paper, we propose a countermeasure based on the linear interpulse frequencycoding linear frequency modulation (LIFC-LFM) signal. The LIFC refers to the linear encoding of the frequency of each pulse transmitted by the radar system, which can change the distribution of the false targets formed by ISRJ in the range-Doppler (RD) spectrum. In this context, we design the frequency coding value to effectively separate the true and false targets in the RD spectrum. Furthermore, we propose a fast-time phase compensation method to separate the true and false targets in the Doppler dimension to facilitate false target suppression. Finally, ISRJ can be suppressed by oblique projection processing. Simulation examples demonstrate that the proposed method has an excellent and robust ISRJ suppression effect for direct forwarding ISRJ, repeated forwarding ISRJ, and frequency shifting ISRJ. For calibrating the measurement error of the speed sensor and estimating the speed accurately while system is nonlinear and noise is non-Gaussian, dual radar and wheel axle sensor are configured and federal particle filter is used to acquire fusion. The whole operation process of CRH3 train from start to stop between two stations is taken as an example, the speed measurement errors of different speed estimation methods under the conditions of train idling, slipping, vibration and the speed sensor with dynamic noise are analyzed and verified. The simulation results show that: The root-mean-square error can be reduced by 31.52% and 47.35% respectively in the idling and sliding stages after the calibration of dual-radar and wheel-axle combination compared with no calibration; Compared with the two types of dual-radar calibration methods, the maximum relative error of the dual-radar separation vibration speed calibration method can be 39.66% lower than that of the dual-radar angle deviation estimation calibration method when the train vibration speed ratio is 0 to 1 and the radar installation angle error is -1° to 1°. Compared with the filtering results of dual radar and axle sensors before fusion, the speed measurement results after using joint particle filtering fusion are 34.71% and 14.03% lower in MAE, and 26.51% and 10.98% lower in RMSE respectively. Compared with federated extended Kalman filter fusion, the root mean square error of velocity measurement using federated particle filter fusion is 26.97% lower and the maximum absolute error can be reduced by 16.10%. Birds in airport airspaces are critical threats to aviation safety. Avian radar systems are effective for long-range bird monitoring and hazard warning, but their functionalities are confined to a short-term temporal scale. Spatial–temporal activity modeling and characterization for birds are not studied comprehensively from historical radar datasets. This paper proposes a radar data analysis framework to characterize bird activities as a long-term functionality complement. Spatial domain modeling initializes data mining by extracting reference spots for data filtering. Bird activities are quantified in the temporal domain. Activity degrees are utilized for periodicity extraction with the daily segment random permutation strategy. Categorical probabilities are calculated to interpret bird activity periodicity characters. Historical radar datasets collected from an avian radar system are adopted for validation. The extracted activity periodicity trends for diurnal birds present prominent consistency with artificial observation records. Migratory bird periodicity trends present a good match with ornithology understandings. Nowadays, modern radar systems increase their target detection capabilities by processing pulses coherently. On the other hand, digital radio frequency memory‐based modern jammers have the ability to work coherently and can deceive radars even with a very low effective radiated power. These jammers, which have the capability of storing the radar's pulse, can use the previous pulses that they have stored in their memory during the electronic deception, without waiting for the last pulse of the radar, in other words, before the new pulse is received. If the radar does not change its parameters from pulse to pulse, such smart jamming techniques applied in this way can be very effective. In this article, the authors propose to use a smart binary phase‐coding method for pulse compression radar as an electronic protection technique against repeater jamming. This approach further improves the target detection capability of modern radar systems, which use coherent integration in the receiver. The proposed method can provide high protection against digital radio frequency memory‐based repetitive range deception techniques without compromising the radar's target detection capability. In the simulations, the traditional approach in which the same code is used without changing from pulse‐to‐pulse, and the approach using code sets obtained by the smart binary phase‐coding method in intra‐pulse modulation are compared. Intelligent navigation is a crucial component of intelligent ships. This study focuses on the situational awareness of intelligent navigation in inland waterways with high vessel traffic densities and increased collision risks, which demand enhanced vessel situational awareness. To address perception data association issues in situational awareness, particularly in scenarios with winding waterways and multiple vessel encounters, a method based on trajectory characteristics is proposed to determine associations between Automatic Identification System (AIS) and radar objects, facilitating the fusion of heterogeneous data. Firstly, trajectory characteristics like speed, direction, turning rate, acceleration, and trajectory similarity were extracted from ship radar and AIS data to construct labeled trajectory datasets. Subsequently, by employing the Support Vector Machine (SVM) model, we accomplished the discernment of associations among the trajectories of vessels collected through AIS and radar, thereby achieving the association of heterogeneous data. Finally, through a series of experiments, including overtaking, encounters, and multi-target scenarios, this research substantiated the method, achieving an F1 score greater than 0.95. The Alps are a natural barrier for avian broad‐front migration in Central Europe. While most birds that approach the Alps are deflected and circumvent the mountains, some choose to make the crossing. Here, they are funnelled and channelled in valleys, leading to high bird densities. Many Alpine valleys are suitable locations for wind farms, potentially creating a conflict between wind energy production and bird conservation. Collisions can be reduced by temporarily shutting down wind turbines. This however requires timely coordination, either by locally monitoring migration intensity or by extrapolating and forecasting migratory fluxes from other sites. However, little is known about the timing and intensity of bird migration in valleys of the central Alps, especially during spring migration. This study presents a 2‐year quantification of avian migration across the Alps. We collected terrestrial radar data at three sites: two located in Alpine valleys and one in the lowland, close to the northern foothills of the Alps. We found high migration traffic rates (MTR) during both migration seasons in the Alpine valleys, with outstanding numbers of migrants during the spring season. The strong alignment of the flight directions with the main orientation of alpine valleys highlights the importance of valleys and the connected passes in channelling migratory fluxes through the Alps. However, extrapolating migration intensities and forecasting peak migration events for inner Alpine sites is difficult, likely due to how migratory patterns and activity are influenced by the complexity of the local topography and the associated dynamic wind and weather conditions. Instead, we call for year‐round on‐site monitoring of migration intensities and strategies tailored to the local context to reduce the risk of bird strikes at wind turbines in the Alps. In the realm of autonomous vehicle technology, the multimodal vehicle detection network (MVDNet) represents a significant leap forward, particularly in the challenging context of weather conditions. This paper focuses on the enhancement of MVDNet through the integration of a multi-head attention layer, aimed at refining its performance. The integrated multi-head attention layer in the MVDNet model is a pivotal modification, advancing the network's ability to process and fuse multimodal sensor information more efficiently. The paper validates the improved performance of MVDNet with multi-head attention through comprehensive testing, which includes a training dataset derived from the Oxford Radar RobotCar. The results clearly demonstrate that the multi-head MVDNet outperforms the other related conventional models, particularly in the average precision (AP) of estimation, under challenging environmental conditions. The proposed multi-head MVDNet not only contributes significantly to the field of autonomous vehicle detection but also underscores the potential of sophisticated sensor fusion techniques in overcoming environmental limitations. As an important research focus in radar detection and localization, direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation has advanced significantly owing to deep learning techniques with powerful fitting and classifying abilities in recent years. However, deep learning inevitably requires substantial data to ensure learning and generalization abilities and lacks reasonable interpretability. Recently, a deep unfolding technique has attracted widespread concern due to the more explainable perspective and weaker data dependency. More importantly, it has been proven that deep unfolding enables convergence acceleration when applied to iterative algorithms. On this basis, we rigorously deduce an iterative sparse Bayesian learning (SBL) algorithm and construct a Bayesian deep unfolded network in a one-to-one correspondence. Moreover, the common but intractable off-grid errors, caused by grid mismatch, are directly considered in the signal model and computed in the iterative process. In addition, minimum hole array, little considered in deep unfolding, is adopted to further improve estimation performance owing to the maximized array degrees of freedom (DOFs). This paper presents recent results on CMOS integrated circuits for automotive radar sensor applications in the 77 GHz frequency band. It is well demonstrated that nano-scale CMOS technologies are the best solution for the implementation of low-cost and high-performance mm-wave radar sensors since they provide high integration level besides supporting high-speed digital processing. The present work is mainly focused on the RF front-end and summarizes the most stringent requirements of both short/medium- and long-range radar applications. After a brief introduction of the adopted technology, the paper addresses the critical building blocks of the receiver and transmitter chain while discussing crucial design aspects to meet the final performance. Specifically, effective circuit topologies are presented, which concern mixer, variable-gain amplifier, and filter for the receiver, as well as frequency doubler and power amplifier for the transmitter. Moreover, a voltage-controlled oscillator for a PLL efficiently covering the two radar bands is described. Finally, the circuit description is accompanied by experimental results of an integrated implementation in a 28 nm fully depleted silicon-on-insulator CMOS technology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Previous theoretical simulations showed the generation of double‐layer structures of E‐region field‐aligned irregularities (FAIs). In this study, we report the double‐layer structures of E‐region FAIs observed by an all‐sky radar at low latitude Ledong (18.4°N, 109°E), China. These FAIs appeared at the altitudes ∼90 and 110 km respectively. Both layers displayed quasi‐periodic patterns with synchronized spatial features, that is, being manifested as spatially separated patches or wavelike structures over similar longitudes at the two layers simultaneously. The neutral wind observations revealed the existence of wind shears at two separated altitudes where the double FAI layers occurred. The two wind shears created two vertically separated sporadic E layers and possibly drove the generation of the double‐layer FAIs via gradient drift instability. The synchronized spatial features of the FAIs at the two layers could be modulated by gravity waves. Due to the limited field of view of narrow‐beam radars which were traditionally employed for observing ionospheric irregularity, the spatial morphology and evolution of E‐region FAIs in a small region were resolved. Owing to the recently developed capability of all‐sky radars in observing E‐region irregularities, the spatial features of E‐region irregularities over a larger zonal region up to hundreds of kilometers in the horizontal plane can be derived. Further, the spatial features of E‐region irregularities in the vertical direction can be unambiguously determined. Utilizing an all‐sky radar at low latitude Ledong, China, a case of double‐layer structures of E‐region FAIs, which occurred at ∼90 and 110 km altitudes respectively, was observed. The double layers of FAIs spanned a zonal coverage ∼250 km, showing as synchronized spatially separated quasi‐periodic patches or wavelike structures in two layers. Especially, the wavelike structures synchronized in the two layers could provide solid evidence for the crucial role of gravity waves in modulating E‐region irregularities. Micro‐Doppler effect is a vital feature of a target that reflects its oscillatory motions apart from bulk motion and provides an important evidence for target recognition with radars. However, establishing the micro‐Doppler database poses a great challenge, since plenty of experiments are required to get the micro‐Doppler signatures of different targets for the purpose of analyses and interpretations with radars, which are dramatically limited by high cost and time‐consuming. Aiming to overcome these limits, a low‐cost and powerful simulation platform of the micro‐Doppler effects is proposed based on time‐domain digital coding metasurface (TDCM). Owing to the outstanding capabilities of TDCM in generating and manipulating nonlinear harmonics during wave‐matter interactions, it enables to supply rich and high‐precision electromagnetic signals with multiple micro‐Doppler frequencies to describe the micro‐motions of different objects, which are especially favored for the training of artificial intelligence algorithms in automatic target recognition and benefit a host of applications like imaging and biosensing. Current virtual reality (VR) devices enable users to visually immerse themselves in the virtual world, contributing to their limited awareness of bystanders' presence. To prevent collisions when bystanders intrude into VR users' activity area, it is necessary to intuitively alert VR users to the intrusion event and the intruder's position, especially in cases where bystanders intrude from the side or behind the VR user. Existing intruder awareness cues fail to intuitively present the intrusion event in such cases. We propose a novel intruder awareness cue called "BrokenWall" by applying a metaphor of "a wall breached by invading soldiers" to the VR user's safety boundary wall. Specifically, BrokenWall refers to a safety boundary wall with a gap appearing in front of a VR user and rotating, guiding the user's attention toward an intruder coming from the side or behind the VR user. We conducted an empirical study (N = 30) comparing BrokenWall with existing awareness cue techniques, Halo and Radar. Halo employs a sphere to represent the intruder, with the size indicating proximity and the position reflecting the direction. Radar employs a radar map to visualize the intruder's position. The results showed that the BrokenWall awareness cue not only significantly reduces the time needed for users to detect an intruder but also has superior performance in subjective ratings. Cyclists are considered to be vulnerable road users (VRUs) and need protection from potential collisions with cars and other vehicles induced by unsafe driving, dangerous road conditions, or weak cycling infrastructure. Integrating mmWave radars into cycling safety measures presents an efficient solution to this problem given their compact size, low power consumption, and low cost compared to other sensors. This paper introduces an mmWave radar-based bike safety system designed to offer real-time alerts to cyclists. The system consists of a low-power radar sensor affixed to the bicycle, connected to a micro-controller, and delivering a preliminary classification of detected obstacles. An efficient two-level clustering based on the accumulation of radar point clouds from multiple frames with a temporal projection from previous frames into the current frame is proposed. The clustering is followed by a coarse classification algorithm in which we use relevant features extracted from the resulting clusters. An annotated RadBike dataset composed of radar point cloud data synchronized with RGB camera images is developed to evaluate our system. The two-level clustering outperforms the DBSCAN algorithm, achieving a v-measure score of 0.91, compared to 0.88 with classical DBSCAN. Different classifiers, including decision trees, random forests, support vector machines (SVMs), and AdaBoost, have been assessed, with an overall accuracy of 87% for the three main object classes: four-wheeled, two-wheeled, and others. Radar coincidence imaging (RCI) is a high‐resolution radar imaging mode which constructs a temporal spatial stochastic radiation field (TSSRF) and uses the correlation between reference signal and echoes for imaging. The correlation between the reference matrix and the echoes is the main factor affecting the imaging performance. In fact, radar target characteristics cause fluctuations in the radar cross section and variations in the scattering intensity of each resolution element. The latter degrades the correlation between the reference matrix and the echoes, seriously affecting the image reconstruction. This paper designs the waveform based on image entropy under fixed transmitting and receiving arrays. The targets with fluctuating scattering intensity at each resolution element are statistically modelled. The morphology and motion of auroras have been widely studied due to their indications on magnetospheric processes. Here, we report a new kind of "auroral curls," which have wavelengths in the mesoscale (∼100 km) and propagate azimuthally. Utilizing data from the Chinese Antarctic Zhongshan Station (the all‐sky imager and the high‐frequency radar), the Active Magnetosphere and Planetary Electrodynamics Response Experiment and the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program, we analyze an event occurred on 23 April 2019. We find these curls are fine structures in the poleward boundary of multiple arcs. Corresponding field‐aligned currents manifest as a series of longitudinally arranged pairs, while ionospheric flow velocities nearby oscillate with periods in the Pc 5 band. Observational evidence suggests these curls are connected with ultra‐low frequency (ULF) waves, which opens the possibility of using auroras to globally image ULF waves. A long-standing problem in meteor science has been the persistent presence of bias in the measured value of atmospheric scale heights obtained from radio meteor echoes. A common practice of fitting a linear function for bias correction follows the assumption that the systematic bias is devoid of seasonal asymmetry. This would be true if the mass and the velocity distribution of meteoroids remain invariant, both spatially and temporally. But so far no such convincing evidence has been published. On the contrary, fundamental arguments suggest that a universal mass function of radio meteoroids is counterintuitive. This parameter cannot remain invariant due to the intrinsic variability in the meteor response function resulting from the Earth's motion on the plane of ecliptic. In this paper, we show that an inverse relation exists between the width of meteor height distribution, expressed in unit of atmospheric scale height, and the exponent of the mass function. The overall mean of this exponent for the Sodankylä radar is |$1.91 \pm 0.02$|⁠ , modulated by a seasonal variation from the mean of the order of |$\sim \pm 0.1$|⁠. The stated inverse relation is applied to correct for the effect of mass distribution on the height distribution. With the advent of Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), shifting data processing from cloud centers to the network edge presents an advanced computational paradigm for addressing latency-sensitive applications. Specifically, in radar systems, the real-time processing and prediction of radar echo data pose significant challenges in dynamic and resource-constrained environments. MEC, by processing data near its source, not only significantly reduces communication latency and enhances bandwidth utilization but also diminishes the necessity of transmitting large volumes of data to the cloud, which is crucial for improving the timeliness and efficiency of radar data processing. To meet this demand, this paper proposes a model that integrates a spatiotemporal Attention Module (STAM) with a Long Short-Term Memory Gated Recurrent Unit (ST-ConvLSGRU) to enhance the accuracy of radar echo prediction while leveraging the advantages of MEC. STAM, by extending the spatiotemporal receptive field of the prediction units, effectively captures key inter-frame motion information, while optimizations to the convolutional structure and loss function further boost the model's predictive performance. Passive radar detection emerges as a pivotal method for environmental perception and target detection within radar applications. Through leveraging its advantages, including minimal electromagnetic pollution and efficient spectrum utilization, passive radar methodologies have garnered increasing interest. In recent years, there has been an increasing selection of passive radar signal sources, and the emerging 5G has the characteristics of a high-frequency band, high bandwidth, and a large number of base stations, which give it significant advantages for use in passive radar. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce a passive radar target detection method based on 5G signals and design a rotating target speed measurement experiment. Featured Application: The new algorithm proposed in this paper is mainly applied to radar data processing. By accurately distinguishing between targets and clutter, the clutter removal rate can be improved, and target trajectories can be quickly and accurately established. This algorithm can comprehensively utilize the advantages of classifiers and data characteristics, reducing the dependence on training samples. Therefore, it is also suitable for classification applications on small sample datasets. Accurately classifying targets and clutter plots is crucial in radar data processing. It is beneficial for filtering out a large amount of clutters and improving the track initiation speed and tracking accuracy of real targets. However, in practical applications, this problem becomes difficult due to complex electromagnetic environments such as cloud and rain clutter, sea clutter, and strong ground clutter. This has led to poor performance of some commonly used radar plot classification algorithms. In order to solve this problem and further improve classification accuracy, the radar plot classification algorithm based on evidence adaptive updating (RPC-EAU) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the multi-dimensional recognition features of radar plots used for classification are established. Secondly, the construction and combination of mass functions based on feature sample distribution are designed. Then, a confidence network classifier containing an uncertain class was designed, and an iterative update strategy for it was provided. Finally, several experiments based on synthetic and real radar plots were presented. The results show that RPC-EAU can effectively improve the radar plot classification performance, achieving a classification accuracy of about 0.96 and a clutter removal rate of 0.95. Compared with some traditional radar pattern recognition algorithms, it can improve by 1 to 10 percentage points. The target loss rate of RPC-EAU is also the lowest, only about 0.02, which is about one third to one half of the comparison algorithms. In addition, RPC-EAU avoids clustering all radar points in each update, greatly saving the computational time. The proposed algorithm has the characteristics of high classification accuracy, low target loss rate, and less computational time. This paper proposes the design of virtual antenna arrays with frequency diversity for radar systems in fifth-generation flying ad hoc networks. These virtual arrays permit us to detect targets from the sky with flying drones. Each array element is composed of a microstrip antenna mounted on quadcopter drones and is virtually connected with the other elements. The antennas are tuned to work at the lower fifth-generation frequency band of 3.5 GHz. The design process considers the optimization of frequency offsets and positions for each element to obtain a side lobe level reduction. This methodology is carried out by particle swarm optimization. Several design examples are presented with random frequency offsets and non-uniform positions. These designs are compared to uniform-spaced arrays excited with Hamming frequency offsets. The simulation results show that using random frequency offsets and non-uniform positions provides a minor side lobe level reduction. In this research, we delve into the influence of cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) and ice-nucleating particle (INP) concentrations on the morphology and abundance of ice particles in mixed-phase clouds, emphasizing the consequential impact of ice particle shape, number, and size on cloud dynamics and microphysics. Leveraging the synergy of the Advanced Microphysics Prediction System (AMPS) and the Kinematic Driver (KiD) model, we conducted simulations to capture cloud microphysics across diverse CCN and INP concentrations. The Passive and Active Microwave radiative TRAnsfer (PAMTRA) radar forward simulator further augmented our study, offering insights into how the concentrations of CCN and INPs affect radar reflectivities. Our experimental framework encompassed CCN concentrations ranging from 10 to 5000 cm -3 and INP concentrations from 0.001 to 10 L -1. Central to our findings is the observation that higher INP concentrations yield smaller ice particles, while an increase in CCN concentrations leads to a subtle growth in their dimensions. Consistent with existing literature, our results spotlight oblate-like crystals as dominant between temperatures of −20 and −16 °C. Notably, high-INP scenarios unveiled a significant prevalence of irregular polycrystals. The aspect ratio (AR) of ice particles exhibited a decline with the rise in both CCN and INP concentrations, highlighting the nuanced interrelation between CCN levels and ice particle shape, especially its ramifications on the riming mechanism. The forward-simulated radar reflectivities, spanning from -11.83 dBZ (low INP, 0.001 L -1) to 4.65 dBZ (high INP, 10 L -1), elucidate the complex dynamics between CCN and INPs in determining mixed-phase cloud characteristics. Comparable differences in radar reflectivity were also reported from observational studies of stratiform mixed-phase clouds in contrasting aerosol environments. In this study, we present a novel approach for the real-time detection of high-speed moving objects with rapidly changing velocities using a high-resolution millimeter-wave (MMW) radar operating at 94 GHz in the W-band. Our detection methodology leverages continuous wave transmission and heterodyning of the reflected signal from the moving target, enabling the extraction of motion-related attributes such as velocity, position, and physical characteristics of the object. The use of a 94 GHz carrier frequency allows for high-resolution velocity detection with a velocity resolution of 6.38 m/s, achieved using a short integration time of 0.25 ms. This high-frequency operation also results in minimal atmospheric absorption, further enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the detection process. The proposed system utilizes cost-effective and less complex equipment, including compact antennas, made possible by the low sampling rate required for processing the intermediate frequency signal. A new dual-frequency, dual-mode reconfigurable digital receiver based on Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) dynamic reconfiguration is proposed, which is based on a common hardware platform of high-bandwidth RF front-end, high-speed data acquisition, and real-time signal processing. The receiver adopts the design of dynamically reconfigurable down-conversion, filter extraction, and matched filtering in the digital domain. In this study, we completed the design and development of the digital receiver, experimental platform construction, and field detection test with hardware and software cooperation. The experimental results show that the receiver achieves full digital reception and signal processing for 53.8 MHz stratosphere–troposphere (ST) detection and 35.0 MHz meteor detection and successfully acquired the number of meteors versus time, the meteor trail, and low-altitude atmospheric radial winds. Earth observation satellite-04 or EOS-04 (Radar imaging satellite-1A or RISAT-1A) provides the opportunity for characterization of surface features using C-band fully-polarimetric, hybrid-polarimetric and dual-polarimetric radar data from same platform in high to moderate resolution (2–50 m depending on mode) and varied incidence angle (12°–55°). These unique EOS-04 radar datasets can be processed using Microwave Data Analysis Software (MIDAS) tool, to derive radar polarimetric parameters. MIDAS is capable of carrying out synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data processing comprising radiometric and majority of the polarimetric processing of EOS-04 datasets. In addition, MIDAS has the functionality to orthorectify and geocode EOS-04 polarimetric products, which is missing in other softwares. Further, MIDAS contains module for bulk-processing of timeseries EOS-04 products. We showcase results obtained from EOS-04 datasets and describe the scattering behaviour of various targets. Further, we also demonstrate the temporal variation in the backscatter values from different target features obtained from EOS-04 time-series stack, which has strong applicability in land use/land cover and agricultural applications. Thus, the radiometric and polarimetric products can be highly beneficial for characterization of physical properties of the scatterers based on their radar scattering behaviour and further classification of the surface features. Since 2021, a new surge in discrete aurora detections at Mars has been observed by the Emirates Mars Ultraviolet Spectrometer (EMUS) onboard the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) Hope Orbiter as EMUS started to regularly obtain synoptic auroral images with a high sensitivity. Here we report on a fortuitous conjunction between EMM and Mars Express (MEX) using far ultraviolet (FUV) imaging of discrete aurora by EMM EMUS, in situ measurements of suprathermal electrons by the MEX Analyzer of Space Plasma and Energetic Atoms Electron Spectrometer (ELS), and topside radar sounding of the nightside ionosphere by the MEX Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding (MARSIS). In this event, EMM EMUS imaged a clear discrete aurora signature around moderately strong crustal magnetic fields on the nightside near the dusk terminator, 11 min before which MEX MARSIS measured a prominent local enhancement of the peak electron density in the nightside ionosphere and MEX ELS observed an in situ enhancement of suprathermal electrons at the corresponding location. A remarkable geographic agreement is found between the enhancements of the aurora, ionosphere, and suprathermal electrons, suggesting that the enhanced ionization and auroral emission are caused concurrently by precipitating suprathermal electrons. Subsequent images indicate that the discrete aurora slightly changed its shape in 15 min and mostly disappeared in a few hours. The MEX MARSIS measurements of the auroral ionosphere display overlapping ionospheric and surface echoes indicative of horizontal gradients of the peak electron density. Analysis of the overlapping echoes implies that the auroral ionosphere and electron precipitation could be highly structured with horizontal spatial scales on the order of several tens of km. MEX MARSIS also observed a non-auroral ionospheric enhancement with a wider spatial extent than the local auroral enhancement, suggesting alternative sources of the enhanced nightside ionosphere such as plasma transport. The comparison between the ionospheric structures measured by MEX MARSIS, suprathermal electron flux measured by MEX ELS, and discrete auroral emission imaged by EMM EMUS underscores the complexity of the auroral and non-auroral nightside ionospheres. With the continuous advancement of autonomous driving and monitoring technologies, there is increasing attention on non-intrusive target monitoring and recognition. This paper proposes an ArcFace SE-attention model-agnostic meta-learning approach (AS-MAML) by integrating attention mechanisms into residual networks for pedestrian gait recognition using frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) millimeter-wave radar through meta-learning. We enhance the feature extraction capability of the base network using channel attention mechanisms and integrate the additive angular margin loss function (ArcFace loss) into the inner loop of MAML to constrain inner loop optimization and improve radar discrimination. Then, this network is used to classify small-sample micro-Doppler images obtained from millimeter-wave radar as the data source for pose recognition. Experimental tests were conducted on pose estimation and image classification tasks. The results demonstrate significant detection and recognition performance, with an accuracy of 94.5%, accompanied by a 95% confidence interval. Within the context of a smart home, detecting the operating status of appliances in the environment plays a pivotal role, estimating power consumption, issuing overuse reminders, and identifying faults. The traditional contact-based approaches require equipment updates such as incorporating smart sockets or high-precision electric meters. Non-constant approaches involve the use of technologies like laser and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) radar. The former can only monitor one appliance at a time, and the latter is unable to detect appliances with extremely tiny vibrations and tends to be susceptible to interference from human activities. To address these challenges, we introduce HomeOSD, an advanced appliance status-detection system that uses mmWave radar. This innovative solution simultaneously tracks multiple appliances without human activity interference by measuring their extremely tiny vibrations. To reduce interference from other moving objects, like people, we introduce a Vibration-Intensity Metric based on periodic signal characteristics. We present the Adaptive Weighted Minimum Distance Classifier (AWMDC) to counteract appliance vibration fluctuations. Finally, we develop a system using a common mmWave radar and carry out real-world experiments to evaluate HomeOSD's performance. With the rapidly growing interest in using structural timber, a need exists to inspect and assess these structures using non-destructive testing (NDT). This review article summarizes NDT methods for wood inspection. After an overview of the most important NDT methods currently used, a detailed review of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Ultrasonic Testing (UST) is presented. These two techniques can be applied in situ and produce useful visual representations for quantitative assessments and damage detection. With its commercial availability and portability, GPR can help rapidly identify critical features such as moisture, voids, and metal connectors in wood structures. UST, which effectively detects deep cracks, delaminations, and variations in ultrasonic wave velocity related to moisture content, complements GPR's capabilities. The non-destructive nature of both techniques preserves the structural integrity of timber, enabling thorough assessments without compromising integrity and durability. Techniques such as the Synthetic Aperture Focusing Technique (SAFT) and Total Focusing Method (TFM) allow for reconstructing images that an inspector can readily interpret for quantitative assessment. The development of new sensors, instruments, and analysis techniques has continued to improve the application of GPR and UST on wood. However, due to the hon-homogeneous anisotropic properties of this complex material, challenges remain to quantify defects and characterize inclusions reliably and accurately. By integrating advanced imaging algorithms that consider the material's complex properties, combining measurements with simulations, and employing machine learning techniques, the implementation and application of GPR and UST imaging and damage detection for wood structures can be further advanced. However, the frequently recommended flying start technique introduces a bias during parameter estimation. To correct this, two additional models (Estimated TC and Estimated FD) were proposed. To estimate model precision and sensitivity to detect the change, 31 basketball players executed multiple 30 m sprints. Athlete performance was simultaneously measured by a laser gun and timing gates positioned at 5, 10, 20, and 30 m. Short sprint parameters were estimated using a laser gun, representing the criterion measure, and five different timing gate models, representing the practical measures. Only the MSS parameter demonstrated a high agreement between the laser gun and timing gate models, using the percent mean absolute difference ( % M A D ) estimator ( % M A D < 10%). The MSS parameter also showed the highest sensitivity, using the minimum detectable change estimator ( % M D C 95 ), with an estimated % M D C 95 < 17%. Interestingly, sensitivity was the highest for the No Correction model ( % M D C 95 < 7%). All other parameters and models demonstrated an unsatisfying level of sensitivity. The article presents the analysis, design, and low-cost implementation of application-specific AD converters for M-sequence-based UWB applications to minimize and integrate the whole UWB sensor system. Therefore, the main goal of this article is to integrate the AD converter's own design with the UWB analog part into the system-in-package (SiP) or directly into the system-on-a-chip (SoC), which cannot be implemented with commercial AD converters, or which would be disproportionately expensive. Based on the current and used UWB sensor system requirements, to achieve the maximum possible bandwidth in the proposed semiconductor technology, a parallel converter structure is designed and presented in this article. Moreover, 5-bit and 4-bit parallel flash AD converters were initially designed as part of the research and design of UWB M-sequence radar systems for specific applications, and are briefly introduced in this article. The requirements of the newly proposed specific UWB M-sequence systems were established based on the knowledge gained from these initial designs. After thorough testing and evaluation of the concept of the early proposed AD converters for these specific UWB M-sequence systems, the design of a new AD converter was initiated. After confirming sufficient characteristics based on the requirements of UWB M-sequence systems for specific applications, a 7-bit AD converter in low-cost 0.35 µm SiGe BiCMOS technology from AMS was designed, fabricated, and presented in this article. The proposed 7-bit AD converter achieves the following parameters: ENOB = 6.4 bits, SINAD = 38 dB, SFDR = 42 dBc, INL = ±2-bit LSB, and DNL = ±1.5 LSB. The maximum sampling rate reaches 1.4 Gs/s, the power consumption at 20 Ms/s is 1050 mW, and at 1.4 Gs/s is 1290 mW, with a power supply of −3.3 V. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, a 3D conformal meta-lens designed for manipulating electromagnetic beams via height-to-phase control is proposed. The structure consists of a 40 × 20 array of tunable unit cells fabricated using 3D printing, enabling full 360° phase compensation. A novel automatic synthesizing method (ASM) with an integrated optimization process based on genetic algorithm (GA) is adopted here to create the meta-lens. Simulation using CST Microwave Studio and MATLAB reveals the antenna's beam deflection capability by adjusting phase compensations for each unit cell. Various beam scanning techniques are demonstrated, including single-beam, dual-beam generation, and orbital angular momentum (OAM) beam deflection at different angles of 0°, 10°, 15°, 25°, 30°, and 45°. A 3D-printed prototype of the dual-beam feature has been fabricated and measured for validation purposes, with good agreement between both simulation and measurement results, with small discrepancies due to 3D printing's low resolution and fabrication errors. This meta-lens shows promise for low-cost, high-gain beam deflection in mm-wave wireless communication systems, especially for sensing applications, with potential for wider 2D beam scanning and independent beam deflection enhancements. Transient interference often submerges the actual targets when employing over-the-horizon radar (OTHR) to detect targets. In addition, modern OTHR needs to carry out multi-target detection from sea to air, resulting in the sparse sampling of echo data. The sparse OTHR signal will raise serious grating lobes using conventional methods and thus degrade target detection performance. This article proposes a modified Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM)-Net to reconstruct the target and clutter spectrum of sparse OTHR signals so that target detection can be performed normally. Firstly, transient interferences are identified based on the sparse basis representation and then excised. Therefore, the processed signal can be seen as a sparse OTHR signal. By solving the Doppler sparsity-constrained optimization with the trained network, the complete Doppler spectrum is reconstructed effectively for target detection. Compared with traditional sparse solution methods, the presented approach can balance the efficiency and accuracy of OTHR signal spectrum reconstruction. This contribution focuses on the detection of tracer particles within non-homogeneous bulk media, aiming to enhance insights into particulate systems. Polarimetric radar measurements are employed, utilizing cross-polarizing channels in order to mitigate interference from bulk media reflections. To distinguish the tracer particle in the measurements, a resonant cross-polarizing structure is constructed, facilitating the isolation of frequency signatures from the surrounding bulk clutter. In addition to characterizing the bulk and tracer components, this study provides a detailed presentation and discussion of the measurement setup, along with the employed signal processing methods. The effectiveness of the proposed methods is demonstrated through comprehensive measurements, where a tracer particle is systematically positioned at various locations. The results affirm the feasibility and efficacy of the approach, highlighting its applicability for enhanced dynamic monitoring in particulate systems within industrial processes. Mini–unmanned aerial vehicles (mini-UAVs) are emerging as a promising platform for through-wall radar to sense the enclosed space in cities, especially high-rise buildings, due to their excellent maneuverability. However, due to unavoidable environmental interference such as airflow, mini-UAVs are prone to trajectory deviation thus degrading their sensing accuracy. Most of the existing approaches model the impact of trajectory deviation into a polynomial phase error on the received signal, which cannot fit the space-variant motion error well. Moreover, the large trajectory deviations of UAVs introduce the unavoidable envelope error. This article proposes an autofocusing algorithm based on the back projection (BP) image, which directly estimates the trajectory deviations between the actual and measured track. Thus, the problem of the 2D space variability of the motion error can be circumvented. The proposed method mainly consists of two steps. First, we estimate the trajectory deviation in the line-of-sight (LOS) direction by exploring the underlying linear property of the wall embedded in the BP imaging result. Then, the estimated trajectory deviation in the LOS direction is compensated for to obtain an updated BP image, followed by a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) approach to estimate the trajectory deviation along the track through focusing targets behind the wall. Simulations and practical experiments show that the proposed algorithm can accurately estimate the serious trajectory deviations larger than the range resolution, improving the sensing robustness of UAV-borne through-wall radar greatly. Human pose estimation (HPE) is an integral component of numerous applications ranging from healthcare monitoring to human-computer interaction, traditionally relying on vision-based systems. These systems, however, face challenges such as privacy concerns and dependency on lighting conditions. As an alternative, short-range radar technology offers a non-invasive, lighting-insensitive solution that preserves user privacy. This paper presents a novel radar-based framework for HPE, SCRP-Radar (space-aware coordinate representation for human pose estimation using single-input single-output (SISO) ultra-wideband (UWB) radar). The methodology begins with clutter suppression and denoising techniques to enhance the quality of radar echo signals, followed by the construction of a micro-Doppler (MD) matrix from these refined signals. This matrix is segmented into bins to extract distinctive features that are critical for pose estimation. The SCRP-Radar leverages the Hrnet and LiteHrnet networks, incorporating space-aware coordinate representation to reconstruct 2D human poses with high precision. Our method redefines HPE as dual classification tasks for vertical and horizontal coordinates, which is a significant departure from existing methods such as RF-Pose, RF-Pose 3D, UWB-Pose, and RadarFormer. Extensive experimental evaluations demonstrate that SCRP-Radar significantly surpasses these methods in accuracy and robustness, consistently exhibiting lower average error rates, achieving less than 40 mm across 17 skeletal key-points. This innovative approach not only enhances the precision of radar-based HPE but also sets a new benchmark for future research and application, particularly in sectors that benefit from accurate and privacy-preserving monitoring technologies.
