Paper manufacturers have long used silicone as the coating agent for release liners. However, silicone‐based release paper is very difficult to recycle due to covalent bonds between silicone and fibers. The most suitable solution to overcome this problem is to use alternative coating materials with adequate release properties, provided that they can be easily repulped in typical paper recycling facilities. We proposed a coating agent composed of phosphate esters and dimethylacetamide in order to manufacture a recyclable and efficient release paper. Analyses carried out on coated sheets showed that phosphate esters allowed the formation of a surface with adequate release properties (low peeling force and surface free energy). In addition, the residual adhesion values obtained with phosphate esters confirmed that they are well anchored on the backing paper surface, thus limiting the mass transfer to the adhesive tape. This research attempts to fabricate a novel type of pressure‐sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape utilizing epoxidized linseed oil (ELO) as the primary component in an effort to reduce reliance on petrochemical polymers. This raw material comes from the natural renewable resources, making this tape a more environmentally friendly choice in reducing impact on the environment and alleviating resource pressure. The ester groups on ELO are subjected to hydrolysis in order to yield a combination of epoxy linseed oil fatty acids (ELFAs) containing both epoxy and carboxyl groups. By controlling the temperature and catalyst conditions, the epoxy and carboxyl groups undergo a ring‐opening reaction, resulting in the self‐polymerization of the ELFA mixture and the formation of hydroxy‐functionalized polymers. These polymers are then applied as a coating on kraft paper and subsequently cut to produce PSA tapes. The tapes produced using this method exhibit a peak peel strength of 20.538 N per 25 mm. Moreover, the incorporation of glycerol ester of rosin serves to enhance the peel strength, resulting in a higher value of 21.883 N per 25 mm. The intrinsic hydrophilicity of conventional dressings cannot achieve effective management of excessive biofluid around the wound bed, which inevitably causes infection and hinders wound healing. In addition, present dressings such as medical gauze or band aids have a limited stretching capability, which does not comply well with the skin deformation during muscle movement, thus impacting patient comfort. Herein, a Janus wound dressing is reported by assembling an external hydrophobic (HP) adhesive tape, a filter paper, and a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) Janus film. The PDMS Janus film as the primary dressing can unidirectionally remove biofluid away from the wound bed. The mechanism of the unidirectional biofluid transport is investigated, demonstrating that the stretching or bending of the Janus dressing is beneficial for unidirectional biofluid draining. It indicates that the Janus PDMS film has potential for practical applications on stretched or bended skin surface. In addition, in order to prevent bacterial infection, amoxicillin powder is uniformly encapsulated on the HP layer of Janus film, resulting in faster wound healing. Paper has been utilized as an ideal platform for chemical, biological, and mechanical sensing for its fibrous structures and properties in addition to its low cost. However, current studies on pressure‐sensitive papers have not fully utilized the unique advantages of papers, such as printability, cuttability, and foldability. Moreover, the existing resistive, capacitive, and triboelectric sensing modalities have long‐standing challenges in sensitivity, noise‐proofing, response time, linearity, etc. Here, a novel flexible iontronic sensing mechanism, referred to as iontronic sensing paper (ISP), is introduced to the classic paper substrates by incorporating both ionic and conductive patterns into an all‐in‐one flexible sensing platform. The ISP can then be structured into 2D or 3D tactile‐sensitive origamis only by the paper‐specific manipulations of printing, cutting, folding, and gluing. Notably, the ISP device possesses a device sensitivity of 10 nF kPa−1 cm−2, which is thousands of times higher than that of the commercial counterpart, a resolution of 6.25 Pa, a single‐millisecond response time, and a high linearity (R2 > 0.996). Benefiting from the unique properties of the fibrous paper structures and its remarkable performances, the ISP devices hold enormous potential for the emerging human–machine interfaces, including smart packaging, health wearables, and pressure‐sensitive paper matrix. A flexible iontronic sensing paper with both ionic and conductive patterns as an all‐in‐one flexible sensing platform, with direct printability, custom cuttability, and 3D foldability is structured into a pressure‐sensing device by paper‐specific manipulations in the forms of a 2D device or a 3D tactile‐sensing‐enabled origami with remarkable sensitivity, resolution, response linearity, and response time. The crystal violet (CV) staining technique represents a prevalent approach for the development of latent fingerprints, especially on adhesive tape surfaces. Nevertheless, the technique necessitates intricate formulations to augment its performance. In this investigation, an optimized CV staining protocol was developed, characterized by the absence of residual dye on the target substrates and the capability of facilitating fingerprint visualization under ambient light conditions. Four donors, comprising two males and two females, deposited natural fingerprints on various substrates, including glass microscope slides, aluminum foil, and 115 g glossy coated paper, without any specific guidelines. Fingerprints developed using cyanoacrylate fuming served as benchmarks and were contrasted with those generated through alternative methods: CV, ardrox, rhodamine 6G, powdering, and the optimized CV staining protocol. The fingerprint development experiment was replicated at seven distinct time intervals, encompassing 1 day, 1 week, 1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months, resulting in a dataset of 420 fingerprints. The evaluation of fingerprint identifiability employed a scoring system established by the Home Office Centre for Applied Science and Technology. The results indicated that the optimized CV staining technique demonstrated superior performance, boasting a 92.9% rate of identifiable fingerprint development in contrast to other employed methodologies. Consequently, this optimized CV staining approach is recommended as an efficient, rapid, and straightforward critical dyeing method, applicable to a wide array of substrates in forensic investigations. Novel naphthalimide based fluorescent dye NI‐1 possess (i) high quantum yield, (ii) blue emission (λem=450 nm), (iii) CIE coordinate (x=0.21, y=0.35) with 39 % blue colour purity in solid state, (iv) photochemical and thermal stability up to 200 oC and (v) low cytotoxicity to normal cells L929. NI‐1 was doped in nano porous silica and used as fluorescent powder for imaging of latent fingerprints (LFPs) on coloured surfaces, barcode, wood, brick, leaf and engraved steel beside other common household porous and nonporous surfaces. We demonstrated visibility of levels 1–3 on ceramic tile, glass, paper, steel, iron and compact disc using NI‐1 doped fluorescent silica powder. Furthermore, LFPs developed with NI‐1 were successfully lifted from different surfaces using adhesive tape for documentation and archiving purposes. To mimic the automated fingerprint identification system (AFIS), we manually screened fingerprints from 16 subjects to identify the unknown subject. The unique minutiae points such as long hook, opposite bifurcation, crossbar, cross over, dock, triple bifurcation, lake and spikes were observed beside other 16 minutiae points. In this paper, work on a Ganesha‐shaped semi‐transparent patch antenna is presented for its use in vehicular application. The design of the antenna is opted from a commercially available Ganesha sticker that is mostly placed on the vehicle's window panes as a symbol of an auspicious deity. The geometry of the sticker without any variation in its dimension is made to work as an antenna. The antenna is fabricated using adhesive copper tape on a glass slab backed by an AgHT‐8 transparent conducting sheet which acts as the ground plane. Microstrip inset feeding technique is used to excite the patch and its return loss performance and free space radiation pattern measurements are carried out. When skin-prick tests (SPTs) are used quantitatively, the circumference of the weal and/ or the flare is outlined using a felt tip pen. and transferred to paper by adhesive tape. The aim of the study was to develop and validate a procedure, objectively and precisely determining these areas after transfer to paper. A system was developed enabling the drawing of the area of weal or flare to be read by a hand-held scanner and calculated on a personal computer. Areas in the 5-500 mm2 range could be determined with day-to-day and interoperator coefficients of variation (CVs) of 3.1% and 1.8%, respectively. Accuracy was determined in two ways: by correlation to cutting/weighing of four times enlarged SPT areas (r2 = 0-999, P<0.001) and by measuring standardized areas (deviations less than intra-assay CV, i.e. 1.2%). For comparison, CVs of alternative methods were also determined: eight different areas (9-76 mm-) were evaluated in quadruplicate using the SPT-scanner (CV=l-4%). by cutting/weighing of paper (CV = 2.3%), by digitizing (CV = 4.4%) or by measuring longest and orthogonal diameters (CV= 13.6%). In conclusion, the scanning device and software provides an objective and reproducible procedure for rapid determination of SPT areas. When areas are determined by scanning, digitizing or cutting/weighing the variations in area determination becomes negligible compared to the variations of the entire skin test procedure. In order to solve the problem of peel between display panel and backlight module in new display products such as four-sided borderless display and curved display, in this paper, the peel strength of foam tape was studied through experiment and simulation, and the peel stress strength of the foam tape was established to guide product design. Firstly, the peel stress of foam tape was obtained by peel strength experiment of foam tape samples. Then, the simulation model was established by using finite element software, and the load weight corresponding to the tilt experiment of the 27-inch four-sided borderless display was calculated. Finally, the accuracy of the simulation model was verified by the tilt experiment of 27-inch display, and the peel stress strength of the foam tape was established. The peel stress was about 1.94×10 -2 MPa. Based on the peel stress strength, the minimum width of foam tape for 23.8-inch four-sided borderless display was 1.5 mm. The display passed the 60 ℃/90% RH HTHHS 500 hours experiment, meeting the product quality requirements. This method can guide the size design of foam tape for new display products such as four-sided borderless display and curved display, and enhance the ultimate design competitiveness of products. This article presents the realization of a bandpass filter on a flexible biopolymer substrate with a suitable fabrication process. We used copper adhesive tape and laser structuring to fabricate the filter based on a quasi‐lumped microstrip structure. The filter characteristics are a central frequency of 2.45 GHz, a bandwidth of 20%, and insertion loss of 1.2 dB. It is demonstrated that the filter's performance remains almost constant under different bending, folding, and rolling conditions. Plants can autonomously adjust their growth direction based on the gravitropic response to maximize energy acquisition, despite lacking nerves and muscles. Endowing soft robots with gravitropism may facilitate the development of self‐regulating systems free of electronics, but remains elusive. Herein, acceleration‐regulated soft actuators are described that can respond to the gravitational field by leveraging the unique fluidity of liquid metal in its self‐limiting oxide skin. The soft actuator is obtained by magnetic printing of the fluidic liquid metal heater circuit on a thermoresponsive liquid crystal elastomer. The Joule heat of the liquid metal circuit with gravity‐regulated resistance can be programmed by changing the actuator's pose to induce the flow of liquid metal. The actuator can autonomously adjust its bending degree by the dynamic interaction between its thermomechanical response and gravity. A gravity‐interactive soft gripper is also created with controllable grasping and releasing by rotating the actuator. Moreover, it is demonstrated that self‐regulated oscillation motion can be achieved by interfacing the actuator with a monostable tape spring, allowing the electronics‐free control of a bionic walker. Skin‐like sensitivity, or the capability to recognize tactile information, is essential for future robots in elder care, search and rescue, entertainment and other applications involving unstructured environments. In this paper, we propose the design of a flexible one‐dimensional pressure‐sensing system that can localize deformation along a long strip and measure its magnitude with an integrated pair of sensors. The sensor system is fabricated with piezoresistive conductive foils and copper sheets encapsulated by adhesive tape with a total thickness of 0.7 mm. For the purpose of demonstration, the sensor is used to monitor the location and magnitude of kink deformation of an inflatable tube. Finite‐element modeling and simulation are conducted to investigate the behavior of the soft sensor system when subjected to kink deformation. The model‐predicted sensor output achieves good agreement with the experimental data for different deformation magnitudes. Finally, extensive experiments on a sensor prototype with dimensions of 35 × 500 mm mounted on an inflatable tube are conducted to demonstrate the capability of the proposed scheme in simultaneous measurement of deformation location and magnitude. Stable flies are one of the most important arthropod pests of livestock that reduce cattle weight gain and milk production leading to annual economic losses in excess of $2 billion to the US cattle industry. The host‐seeking behavior is primarily mediated by associated odors from stable fly larval development environments and host animals. The present paper reports the development and evaluation of attractant‐impregnated adhesive tapes to reduce stable fly attacks on cattle. Laboratory bioassays showed that only m‐cresol impregnated adhesive tapes caught significantly more stable flies (16 ± 1) than the control tape without attractant added (7 ± 1), with a 77% fly recapture rate. Attractant‐impregnated adhesive tapes deployed in cattle feedlots showed significant impacts in reducing fly population, with a total of one million stable flies captured over a period of three weeks (mean catches from 57 596 to 102 088 stable flies per trap per week). It further relieved cattle stress with a significant reduction of biting fly avoidance behavior, (6 ± 0.4 cows observed with tail wagging in control vs. 3 ± 0.4 from the trap‐deployed). The efficacy of the developed tapes lasted up to 1‐week longevity, although 70% of m‐cresol was released starting from the second day. The m‐cresol impregnated adhesive tape provided an 80% reduction in cattle stress due to stable fly attack. This is the first report of a technology developed by integrating an attractant compound into an adhesive material on a plastic film with demonstrated effectiveness in trapping biting flies that attack livestock animals. Arthrospira platensis is a cyanobacterium used as food due to its high protein content and bioactive compounds (e.g., phycocyanin) and marketed mainly as a dried powder. Drying may cause quality degradation of Spirulina biomass, depending on the technique and the process conditions. In this study, thin layer drying (3 mm) of Spirulina suspension was performed by different techniques, comparing innovative and traditional driers. The innovative drying technique proposed in this study, called vacuum cast‐tape drying (at 40 and 60°C), was compared, in terms of drying kinetics and quality of the powders, to air drying (at 40 and 60°C), freeze‐drying, and cast‐tape drying. Drying curves, the temporal evolution of water activity, and phycocyanin retention during drying were assessed. The microstructure and color of the powders were also determined in the dried powder. Cast‐tape drying resulted in the highest drying rate but showed a very low (≈10%) phycocyanin retention, while the other techniques allow phycocyanin retention >70%, regard to the raw biomass. The freeze‐dried product presented a lighter color compared to the other techniques. Vacuum cast‐tape drying showed a shorter drying time (90–180 min) than freeze‐drying (720 min) and air drying (420 min), maintaining high phycocyanin retention (about 80–90%). Vacuum cast‐tape drying is an efficient, suitable, and low‐cost technique to dehydrate Spirulina at moderate temperatures in short times, maintaining the high quality in terms of bioactive compounds. Practical applications: High‐quality Spirulina powders are considered as potential future sources of protein and bioactive compounds. These components should be preserved during drying, necessary for the stabilization of this product. The novel drying technique proposed in this paper for Spirulina powder production is an alternative, low‐cost, and potentially scalable technique for small and medium Spirulina producers. Vacuum cast‐tape drying allows combining the efficiency of cast‐tape drying with the vacuum atmosphere preserving the color and phycocyanin in the dried biomass. The paper provides a comprehensive overview of possible strategies for the repair of cracked polyamide‐based backsheets. A repair process has been developed that comprises the following steps: (i) cleaning, (ii) pretreatment, and (iii) repair process (crack filling and sealing). The important topic of long‐term reliability is still under investigation. Two different repair strategies have been addressed in this article: (i) repairing damage by restoring electrical insulation properties and (ii) preventing further growth of the surface near microcracks. From a technical point of view, several of the repair solutions examined met the defined requirements for compatibility and applicability. On the one hand, repair tapes/films sealed the surface and only covered the cracks. The adhesive did not penetrate into the cavities that had opened through the cracks in the backsheet material. Therefore, adhesive tapes/films are not suitable for the repair of large‐scale damage and the permanent restoration of the electrical insulation properties. On the other hand, several repair coatings based on polyurethane, epoxy, silicone and synthetic rubber were identified which, after a two‐step application process, showed complete crack filling and sealing of the surface. The required insulation resistance of the aged modules could be restored. Since the new and artificial reliability tests are still running, no final conclusions on the long‐term behavior of the repair and its life‐extending effect of PV modules can be drawn at the moment. In this study, water‐based pressure‐sensitive adhesives (PSAs) were synthesized through an emulsion polymerization process using n‐butyl acrylate, methacrylic acid, acrylic acid, and N‐vinylpyrrolidone monomers, in combination with anionic and non‐ionic surfactants. The PSA was coated onto the corona‐treated surface of a BOPP film using a Mayer bar to prepare packaging tape. The effect of surfactant concentration on the properties of the resulting copolymer and PSA was investigated. The chemical structure, component distribution, and thermal behavior of the copolymer were analyzed using FTIR, HPLC, and DSC. The physical properties of the synthesized copolymer, such as solid content, viscosity, particle size, and gel content, were also determined. The performance of the prepared packaging tapes was evaluated through loop tack, 180° peel, and holding shear time tests. The results indicated that surfactant concentration significantly affected the adhesive's performance. Notably, the use of a 2.5 wt% surfactant mixture yielded promising results, with high monomer conversions and excellent adhesion properties in the tape. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Enhancing interfacial adhesion between functional coatings and target surfaces facilitates long‐term stable service by mitigating interferences of mechanical mismatches. Design of mechanical interlocks affords an effective strategy to strengthen the interfacial bonding with durability and compatibility, but the in‐depth investigations are still lacked. Herein, a gecko‐inspired hierarchical strategy realized by hybrid laser direct writing is proposed, which incorporates an armored frame scale for surface protection and a riveted anchor scale for interlocks. Such dual‐scale configurations endow the functional coatings with the stronger adhesion to the targets than the pristine and mono‐scale cases, resulting in 2 orders of magnitude enhancement resistant to tape peeling tests. Utilizing this scheme, a laser‐induced integrated deicing system is in situ manufactured on thermoplastics, primarily comprising superhydrophobic structures, carbon‐based sensors as well as adhesive copper (Cu) interconnects and heaters, where Cu‐based devices exhibit superior resistance to water impacts and stress fatigue. Interfacing with signal processing modules, such an all‐in‐one system demonstrates real‐time temperature monitoring and high efficiency in deicing (4.24 folds faster than the control group). This article discusses a case series involving eight patients who underwent patch testing for suspected cyanoacrylate contact allergy post-surgery. The patients were tested using a conventional patch testing method as well as a modified method called tape stripping. The results showed that tape stripping increased the sensitivity of patch testing to cyanoacrylates, particularly in cases where the conventional method yielded negative or doubtful reactions. The study also found that ethyl cyanoacrylate (ECA) was positive in five cases, suggesting potential cross-reactivity or co-sensitization. The authors conclude that tape stripping prior to patch testing can be a useful and pragmatic method for testing with medical adhesives when the suspected allergens are not commercially available. With current developments underway at the University of Houston, 4× high‐temperature superconducting (HTS) yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) tapes are expected to reach a fourfold critical current density improvement at 30 K and 3 T as part of an Advanced Research Projects Agency‐Energy (ARPA‐E)‐sponsored project. The impetus for this project is to develop and deploy cost‐effective direct drive HTS generators for large offshore wind turbine generators. The improved conductor performance of 4× tapes over 1× tapes is projected to allow for a significant reduction in the amount of HTS tapes required to generate the excitation field and, thus, lead to a reduction of the overall generator cost. It was, however, deduced from simulation results that conventional methods of rotor field enhancement using rotor iron makes 1× conductor competitive enough compared with 4× conductors; hence, commercially available YBCO tapes can provide all the energy density requirements to make wind turbines a competitive energy resource based on energy forecasts. This paper is a presentation of design and optimization work to find the best generator topology from the point of view of both machine design and electricity supply. The self‐curable epoxidized polymeric fraction of the natural gum "Chios mastic" (Pistacia lentiscus L.) gum is used as a matrix to produce sustainable particulate composite adhesives and further to manufacture lap joints. Olive pit powder and cotton flocks are used as reinforcements, each for a range of contents. Mixed‐modulus‐joint and Nanotube‐coated‐adherend special manufacturing techniques are also applied to further improve shear properties, reduce shear stress concentrations, or increase the adhesive and the adherend cohesion. 2% (w/w) Aluminum and 2% (w/w) olive pit reinforcements achieve an increase in shear strength of 14.19% and 12.26%, respectively, while cotton flocks‐ initially of lower performance as well as pieces of cotton fabric, are used to make joints according to the Nanotube‐coated‐adherend technique achieving an increase in shear strength of 102.1% and 84.91%, respectively. The obtained experimental results demonstrate the potential of the epoxidized polymer fraction of Chios natural mastic to produce useful sustainable particulate epoxy composite adhesives and double‐sided adhesive tapes. Poly(silsesquioxane)‐based polymer‐derived ceramics (PDCs), may be manufactured by a great variety of processes and process combinations leading to ceramic parts seven with high functionality. Advantage of the use of poly(silsesquioxane)s as starting materials with a defined amount of oxygen is that low‐temperature‐processing steps such as shaping and cross‐linking may be carried out in air, and a disadvantage often discussed is a maximum service temperature below 1200 °C. In this article, the focus is set to PDC tapes, coatings, tailored surfaces, and tailored porosity. And, a rough distinction is made between materials pyrolyzed below 1200 °C and far above 1200 °C. Data on the physical characteristics of North African hashish are scarce. This article exploits hashish seizure data collected over an 8‐year period (2011–2018) in Algeria in order to establish a physical profile of North African hashish. The collected data were subjected to statistical analysis in order to characterize the three main forms in which North African hashish is packaged, namely hashish bags, hashish packets, and hashish units (slab bars). The study revealed that 82% of hashish bags weigh 25 kg that hashish bags are made either as a handbag or as a back bag that they are most often wrapped with woven plastic. Two hashish bag configurations were identified—Bag‐Packet‐Unit (79%) and Bag‐Unit (21%)—and 81% of the total studied bags featured logos. Hashish packets contain the units, which are wrapped with three to five different types of packaging to constitute packets of 0.5 kg (65%) or 1 kg (32%), with two different configurations including 100‐ or 250‐g units. Hashish packets are mainly covered with adhesive tape, and only 18% of them feature inscriptions. Hashish units are found in three different shapes: slab bar (most common), soap bar, and egg‐shaped bar. Sixty‐five percent of the North African hashish slab bars have a weight of 100 g; other weights are 250 g (20%), 90 g (10%), and 200 g (2%). Most of the 90–100 g units have a light brown color, and 200–250 g units are dark brown in color. Sixty‐four percent of hashish units contain logos. Five logo classes were identified: letters (37%), numbers (27%), symbols (23%), animals (11%), and, more recently, "paper logos" at just 2%, exclusively reserved for high‐quality hashish and entirely intended for the European market. The findings of this work allow for the establishment of a profiling platform of hashish seizures in this region and can be generalized to all countries that report this region as the primary source of seized hashish within their territory. This paper embraces two different approaches for the joining of materials through glass sealants. First, the conventional method of furnace sealing in which paste technology is normally employed. The glass sealant is applied in powder form mixed with agglomerant and with the help of dispenser robots, tape casting, or screen printing. Glass‐ceramics for sealing of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) are described as an example of this type of processing. Glass composition, thermal properties, particle size of the glass powder, sintering and crystallization competition, and final crystalline phases together with a suitable chemical compatibility with the metallic and ceramic elements to be sealed need to be carefully adjusted for this specific application. Second, laser welding is presented as an alternative sealing technology. A general overview about laser welding through glass sealants is presented. Particularly, the welding of sapphire and fused silica glass through a BTS.2SiO2 thin film glass sealant by employment of a nanosecond‐pulsed laser is detailed. Laser parameters (frequency, power, scan speed, and number of passes) were optimized to get the best molten conditions of the BTS thin film, while allowing its crystallization. DNA profiles have been obtained from fingerprints, but there is limited knowledge regarding DNA analysis from archived latent fingerprints-touch DNA 'sandwiched' between adhesive and paper. Thus, this study sought to comparatively analyze a variety of collection and analytical methods in an effort to seek an optimized workflow for this specific sample type. Untreated and treated archived latent fingerprints were utilized to compare different biological sampling techniques, swab diluents, DNA extraction systems, DNA concentration practices, and post-amplification purification methods. Archived latent fingerprints disassembled and sampled via direct cutting, followed by DNA extracted using the QIAamp® DNA Investigator Kit, and concentration with Centri-Sep™ columns increased the odds of obtaining an STR profile. Using the recommended DNA workflow, 9 of the 10 samples provided STR profiles, which included 7-100% of the expected STR alleles and two full profiles. Thus, with carefully selected procedures, archived latent fingerprints can be a viable DNA source for criminal investigations including cold/postconviction cases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background Hypothesis/Objectives Animals Materials and Methods Results Conclusions and Clinical Relevance Potential contagion and zoonotic risk make rapid diagnosis of dermatophytosis important amongst companion animals.To compare the adhesive tape impression (ATI), trichogram, Wood's lamp (WL) examination and fungal culture for diagnosis of dermatophytosis, and the ATI and trichogram for ease of use.Five dogs and 15 cats with consistent lesions, history and at least two positive dermatophyte test results.After WL examination, one representative lesion per patient was sampled for ATI, trichogram and fungal culture. Microscopic detection of fungal elements on ATI and trichogram were objectively and subjectively compared. The ability of all tests to correctly detect dermatophytosis, and the ability of ATI and trichogram to detect fungal elements in >20 high‐powered fields (HPF) were compared using Fisher's exact tests.ATI, trichogram, fungal culture and WL were positive in 100% (20 of 20), 90% (18 of 20), 95% (19 of 20) and 65% (13 of 20) of patients, respectively, with a significant difference between WL and ATI (p = 0.0499). Fungal culture revealed Microsporum. canis (n = 16), Nannizzia gypsea (n = 1), Trichophyton mentagrophytes (n = 1) and T. rubrum (n = 1). Fungal elements were detected in >20 HPF more frequently with ATI (18 of 20) than trichogram (11 of 20) (p = 0.017), and detection required careful scanning to distinguish from background debris more often with trichogram. Fungal elements were located with neutrophil clusters and keratinocyte rafts in addition to abnormal hair fragments more frequently on ATI.ATI had the highest ability to correctly diagnose dermatophytosis, and increased ease of detecting fungal elements compared to trichogram. Transparent materials widely used in applications such as eyewear, solar cells, and optical devices, often suffer from environmental challenges including fogging, surface contamination, and mechanical deformation. However, a universal strategy that resolves all these issues in a single platform remains to be resolved. Herein, a monolithic micropillar structure based on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) elastomer is prepared followed by subsequent assembly of hydrogel micropatterns in between the micropillar array using inkjet printing to achieve flexible wet‐style superhydrophobic antifogging tapes that are applicable to various transparent materials and curvatures. The monolithic micropillar structure with low‐surface‐energy characteristics facilitates easy removal of surface contaminants by rinsing with water while granting mechanical durability. In addition, micropatterning of hydrogels via inkjet printing not only enables to maintain optical transparency in a fogging environment but also makes the fabrication procedure more scalable. Furthermore, the strong adhesion between the hydrogel and the elastomer is shown to provide enhanced stability under repeated stretching cycles and long‐term exposure to water while the presence of a loosely cross‐linked PDMS at the bottom of the tape made it applicable to a wide range of transparent substrates without using additional adhesives. The mass production of µLEDs requires an upscaling approach on 200 mm wafers, which implies the deployment of a technology that achieves zero defectivity without liftoff. In this report, Nanoimprint lithography (NIL) processing is successfully optimized for nanostructuring GaN‐based Silicon‐On‐Insulator (SOI) substrates. The etching of SiO2/GaN/AlN/Si/SiO2 layers using different plasmas is conducted and multi‐layer nanopillars 100–200 mm in diameter are fabricated. This approach generates zero‐defect arrays of pillars, which is particularly advantageous for the growth process. In addition, the SiO2 at the bottom of the pillar allows it to twist during the subsequent GaN regrowth, as this layer becomes soft at the growth temperature >1000 °C. This ability to deform enables a coalescence of pillars into layers with reduced dislocation density. As a result, high‐quality GaN microplatelets and µLEDs are grown via a bottom‐up approach based on pendeoepitaxy using metal–organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE). The fabricated µLEDs have a very smooth surface with a roughness of 0.6 nm which facilitated the implementation of an easy and simple transfer protocol. Adhesive tape and metalmetal bonding, are used to bond the µLEDs onto a metal‐coated silicon substrate. Tape is a type of trace evidence commonly seen in forensic science. Little to no research has been published regarding the optimal storage material for pressure‐sensitive adhesive (PSA) tape. The purpose of this project was to determine the substrate with the least amount of interference for storing PSA tape. Interferences such as difficulty removing tape from the substrate or substrate components leaching into the adhesive can affect the analysis. This was a long‐term study in which samples were stored on various substrates for nearly 10 years. Ten different tape samples were placed on eight different substrates for a total of 80 samples. The substrates included typical materials currently used for tape storage as well as other, less common materials. The tape samples were evaluated for ease of removal at various time intervals. The adhesives from each tape were analyzed at similar time intervals by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). In addition, the adhesives were analyzed by pyrolysis gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (PyGC‐MS), scanning electron microscopy with energy‐dispersive spectroscopy (SEM‐EDS), and x‐ray fluorescence (XRF) at the last time interval (112 months) and compared to the adhesive tape samples from the original rolls of tape to determine if there was any adverse effect from the substrates during storage. The FedEx backing was the only substrate that had no adverse effects regarding ease of removal. The substrates that had the least effect on the adhesive for both short‐term and long‐term storage included FedEx backings, adhesive sheet backings, and polyester transparency sheets. A wide variety of attachment techniques have been used to track birds with electronic tags, with glue, tape, leg rings, neck collars and harnesses being the most common methods. In general, the choice of attachment method should strive to minimize tagging effects, but ensure that sufficient data are collected to address the research question at hand. The aim of our study was to develop and evaluate tag attachment methods to track Sandwich Terns Thalasseus sandvicensis during the last part of the incubation and the chick‐rearing period of one breeding season. Tag attachments had to stay on for the duration of the chick‐rearing period (5–6 weeks) and be non‐restraining and flexible, but strong enough to withstand the forces and submersion associated with their plunge‐diving foraging technique. We first experimentally tested the durability of flexible material under various environmental conditions with the aim of developing a self‐releasing harness. Then, in field studies, we compared three different attachment methods on terns during the breeding seasons, attaching tags to dorsal feathers using (1) tape, (2) glue or (3) a newly developed harness made specifically for short‐term deployments of one chick‐rearing period and constructed from degradable material. Assessment of the performance of attachment methods was based on retention time of the loggers and on annual survival rates of tagged individuals in comparison with non‐tagged individuals. The use of tape and glue led to premature loss of tags (median minimum retention time (range) of 3 (1–4) days and 15 (5–26) days, respectively), whereas the self‐releasing harness had a median minimum retention time of 42 (18–91) days, which is sufficient to track Sandwich Terns during the entire chick‐rearing period. The apparent annual survival of birds tagged using glue or tape did not differ from that observed in non‐tagged control birds. In contrast, birds fitted with the self‐releasing harnesses might have experienced a lower survival rate than control birds. Entanglement of birds in the harness material was incidentally observed in three cases, which may have contributed to the lower survival rates observed in this group. The risk of entanglement can potentially be mitigated with a leg‐loop harness instead of a full‐body harness. Our results highlight the necessity of careful consideration when selecting appropriate attachment methods. Specifically, there is a need to address whether the research questions and desired tracking duration justify the use of a harness and the higher impact that it entails, or whether a tape or glue‐mount is sufficient. Rationale: Atmospheric pressure matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization (AP‐MALDI) mass spectrometry has enabled the untargeted analysis and imaging of neuropeptides and proteins in biological tissues under ambient conditions. Sensitivity in AP‐MALDI can be improved by using sample‐specific preparation methods. Methods: A comprehensive and detailed optimization strategy including instrument parameters, matrix spraying and sample tissue washing pretreatment was implemented to enhance the sensitivity and coverage of neuropeptides in mouse pituitary tissues by commercial AP‐MALDI mass spectrometry imaging (MSI). Results: The sensitivity of a commercial AP‐MALDI system for endogenous neuropeptides in mouse pituitary was enhanced by up to 15.2‐fold by shortening the transmission gap from the sample plate to the inlet, attaching copper adhesive tape to an indium tin oxide‐coated glass slide, optimizing the matrix spray solvent and using sample tissue washing pretreatment. Following careful optimization, the distributions of nine endogenous neuropeptides were successfully visualized in the pituitary. Furthermore, the quantitative capability of AP‐MALDI for neuropeptides was evaluated and the concentrations of neuropeptides oxytocin and vasopressin in the pituitary posterior lobe were increased approximately twofold under hypertonic saline stress. Conclusion: Mouse pituitary neuropeptides have emerged as important signaling molecules due to their role in stress response. This work indicates the potential of modified AP‐MALDI as a promising AP MSI method for in situ visualization and quantification of neuropeptides in complex biological tissues. Background: It is often difficult to concurrently provide adequate analgesia while minimizing opioid requirements following ambulatory surgery. Nonthermal, pulsed shortwave (radiofrequency) fields are a noninvasive treatment used as an adjunct analgesic and wound healing therapy. The devices may be placed by nursing staff in less than a minute, are relatively inexpensive and readily available, theoretically provide analgesia for nearly any anatomic location, and have no systemic side effects—patients cannot detect any sensations from the devices—or significant risks. Here we present a case series to demonstrate the use of pulsed, electromagnetic field devices for outpatient herniorrhaphy and breast surgery. Case Report: Following moderately painful ambulatory umbilical (n = 3) and inguinal (n = 2) hernia repair as well as bilateral breast surgery (n = 2), patients had taped over their surgical incision(s) 1 or 2 noninvasive, wearable, disposable, pulsed shortwave therapy devices (RecoveryRx, BioElectronics Corporation, Frederick, Maryland) which functioned continuously for 30 days. Average resting pain scores measured on the 0–10 numeric rating scale were a median of 0 during the entire treatment period. Six patients avoided opioid use entirely, while the remaining individual required only 5 mg of oxycodone during the first postoperative day. Conclusions: These cases demonstrate that the ambulatory use of pulsed shortwave devices is feasible and may be an effective analgesic, possibly obviating opioid requirements following outpatient herniorrhaphy and breast surgery. Considering the lack of any side effects, adverse events, and misuse/dependence/diversion potential, further study with a randomized, controlled trial appears warranted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The manufacturing of ultra‐high temperature ceramic materials has significantly advanced over recent years, allowing for the development of new microstructures, architectures, shapes, and geometries to explore new properties and applications for these materials beyond aerospace. For example, titanium diboride (TiB2) exhibits high electrical and thermal conductivity that could satisfy the needs of battery applications by tailoring its geometry, microstructure, and architecture. In this work, aqueous tape casting of TiB2 has been investigated. Zeta potential measurements and suspension rheology were used to understand the role of dispersant, binder, and plasticizer in the suspension and their interaction with the surface chemistry of the TiB2 particles to develop a stable, homogenous suspension, with minimum additive amounts (0%–2 wt%). Homogeneous, flexible, and strong TiB2 tapes were prepared using suspensions with 30 vol% solids and characterized to compare different compositions, mixing methods, and thicknesses. The characterization shows the tailoring of the properties as a function of the controlled suspension formulation with a minimum amount of additives. Green tapes with 2 wt% dispersants, 1 wt% binder, and 2 wt% plasticizers had similar microstructure to those with half the plasticizer but quintuple Young's modulus (1.96 GPa). A novel functional carbamate oligomer with high curing activity was prepared by addition polymerization using diisocyanate and castor oil (CO) and used as curing agent for polyacrylate adhesive. The influence factors of such modified castor oil (mCO) preparation, including monomer type, NCO/OH group mole ratio, reaction temperature and time, were explored. When the CO was reacted with hexamethylene diisocyanate among the NCO/OH group mole ratio of 0.56–0.75 at 75°C for 4 h, the NCO value of mCO could be in the range between 0.10 and 0.20 mmol/g. At this point, the peel adhesion and the tack of the adhesive with mCO in the mass ratio of 1/1 can be above 2.3 N/cm and 23#, respectively. In addition, the influence of rosin resin content, polyacrylate content, and the active equivalent of mCO on the properties of adhesive tape was studied in detail. When the pressure sensitive adhesive is prepared by 50% polyacrylate, 25% mCO and 25% rosin resin, the peel adhesion and the tack can reach 4.63 N/cm and 23#. The relative biodegradation rate of cured adhesive with 25% of mCO and 25% of rosin resin is 47.56% after 45 days, with an increase of 80.95% compared to that of pure adhesive. The highly biodegradable mCO endows the adhesive tape with better mechanical property and biodegradability, thus making it a promising adhesive tape for packing applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Portable x‐ray fluorescence (XRF) is a reliable, rapid and noninvasive technique. Recently, it has been used in a wide variety of fields where the sample must still be available after examination or when qualitative information on chemical composition is needed quickly to perform more detailed studies. These properties also make it suitable for forensic investigations, as shown by some recent reports. In the present work, a systematic evaluation of metal micro traces in electric marks was performed in a case of death by electrocution (high‐voltage current). The results are promising, as XRF has been shown to be a suitable tool not only for skin fragments but also for graphite adhesive tapes placed on the body skin areas of forensic interest and then analyzed. The latter finding proves that skin samples at autopsy are not the only valuable sampling method, thus paving the way for the application of XRF in the diagnosis of electrical injuries in living individuals as well. Micro / Mini LEDs, which are concentrated on next generation displays, are considered very important in transferring technology that moves chips quickly and accurately to a desired location. Silicate ceramics were shaped using tape casting (TC) and freeze tape casting (FTC) processes from three clays labeled HCR, KORS, and KCR. These clays exhibited mass content of 77% halloysite–10 Å, 29% kaolinite, and 98% kaolinite minerals, respectively. After casting the slurries, the dried tapes were sintered at 1200°C. The microstructure changes were characterized before and after sintering using scanning electron microscopy. The apparent porosity of TC samples was lower (36–47 vol.%) compared to values obtained with FTC samples (67–79 vol.%). The latter samples exhibited a highly textured porosity, with micron‐sized pores aligned perpendicular to the tape surfaces. Upon sintering, the porosity of TC samples tended to decrease conversely to the case of FTC samples. Such behavior seemed related to the simultaneous effect of organic additives and ice templating. Consequently, the FTC samples showed a relatively low mechanical strength of 3–7 MPa and thermal conductivity of.14–.22 W m−1 K−1. After sintering, the mullite crystallization contributed to strengthen the bulk materials, helping to compensate for the detrimental effect of porosity on the stress to rupture and on thermal conductivity values. Traditional orthopedic casting strategies used in the treatment of fractured limbs, such as fiberglass and plaster‐based tapes, suffer from several drawbacks, including technically challenging molding for application, occurrence of skin complications, and the requirement of a potentially hazardous oscillatory saw for removal, which is frightening for pediatric patients. This work presents the design and evaluation of a foam‐fabric cast (FFC) to overcome these drawbacks by integrating strategies from soft materials engineering and functional apparel design. A fabric sleeve is designed to enable the reactive injection molding of a polymer foam and provide a form‐fitting orthopedic cast for the human forearm—with sufficient mechanical reinforcement to stabilize a fractured limb. Through testing with a replica limb and human subjects with a range of forearm volumes, the FFC application process is demonstrated and characterized. The thermal, pressural, chemical, and hygienic safety are comparable to or safer than existing clinical technologies. The FFC weighs only ≈150 g, is water resistant, and represents a robust alternative to traditional casts that can be i) manufactured at a large scale for a low cost; ii) applied to patients simply, rapidly (≈5 min), and reliably; and iii) removed easily with a pair of scissors. In the present research work, spray deposition technique is adopted for the fabrication of superhydrophobic coating on glass slide using TiO2 nanoparticles and polymethylhydrosyloxane (PMHS) composite. The prepared superhydrophobic coating revealed hierarchical surface morphology due to different micro and nanoscaled grains of TiO2 NPs/PMHS composite. The water drops hardly stay on the superhydrophobic coating and roll off the surface at sliding angle of 6° due to high water contact angle of 163 ± 2°. As a result, the prepared superhydrophobic coating revealed excellent self‐cleaning performance. To evaluate the mechanical durability the prepared superhydrophobic coating, the coating surface is exposed to water jet, water drop impact, adhesive tape peeling, and sandpaper abrasion tests. A facile multi‐transfer method based on flexible tape was introduced and micro‐LED arrays was successfully transferred and electrically bonded to backpanel with a lighten yield up to 90%. The flexible tape could compensate the height variation of LED chips during the pick and place process. Multi‐transfer was achieved by the viscosity‐adjustable nature of the tape materials. Pressure‐sensitive adhesive tapes are used in several industrial applications such as construction, railway vehicles and the automotive sector, where the burning behavior is of crucial importance. Flame retarded adhesive tapes are developed and provided, however, often without considering the interaction of adhesive tapes and the bonded materials during burning nor the contribution of the tapes to fire protection goal of the bonded components in distinct fire tests. This publication delivers an empirical comprehensive knowledge how adhesive tapes and their flame retardancy effect the burning behavior of bonded materials. With a special focus on the interaction between the single components, one flame retarded tape and one tape without flame retardant are examined in scenarios of emerging and developing fires, along with their bonds with the common materials wood, zinc‐plated steel, mineral wool, polycarbonate, and polymethylmethacrylate. The flame retardant significantly improved the flame retardancy of the tape as a free‐standing object and yielded a V‐2 rating in UL 94 vertical test and raised the Oxygen Index by 5 vol.%. In bonds, or rather laminates, the investigations prove that the choice of carrier and substrates are the factors with the greatest impact on the fire properties and can change the peak of heat release rate and the maximum average rate of heat emission up to 25%. This research yielded a good empirical overall understanding of the fire behavior of adhesive tapes and bonded materials. Backgrounds: The detection of biomarkers of a stress response in the stratum corneum (SC) could be used as objective assessment of early stress symptoms and monitoring of stress reduction interventions in health care workers (HCWs). Aim: The aim of this study is to explore SC biomarkers of immune and hormonal response and skin barrier for assessment of psychological distress (PD) in HCWs. Methods: Twenty‐five female HCWs and 25 non‐HCWs participated. SC samples were collected using adhesive tapes at baseline and 3−5 days later (T1). We analyzed 24 biomarkers (immunological, vascular, hormones, and natural moisturizing factors). Stress symptoms were assessed using three scales of Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire. The study involved: identifying SC biomarkers, correlating stress symptoms and biomarkers at baseline and T1, examining stress symptoms between the groups with a Mann‐Whitney test, comparing stress symptoms and biomarkers between groups using Ordinary Least Regression and investigating temporal variability of SC biomarkers at baseline and T1 using a Wilcoxon‐signed rank. Results: Fourteen SC biomarkers were identified. We found correlations between general stress and "IL18" (r = 0.55) physical stress and "IL1b" (r = 0.36) and cognitive stress and "MIP3a" (r = 0.38) at baseline and general stress and cortisol (r = −0.49), physical stress and cortisol (r = −0.60) and cortisone (r = −0.67) at T1. We found no differences in stress symptoms and biomarkers between the groups, except for "MIP3a" at baseline. Differences in the biomarker levels between two time points were found for "TARC," "VEGFA," "ILRA," "IL1RA/IL1a," "NMF," and "DHEA." Conclusion: The SC can be suitable biological material to assess biomarkers related to immune response, hormonal response, and skin barrier function. The SC biomarkers, showed strong, moderate and weak correlations with stress symptoms. Idiopathic macular hole (IMH) is a vitreoretinal disease that causes severe visual impairment, and the pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) combined with internal limiting membrane peeling (ILMP) is the traditional treatment for IMH. Since the dissociated optical nerve fiber layer (DONFL) is observed in the eyes after the surgery, a modified surgery is put forward to minimize the injury. However, the extent to which the modified surgery reduced damage is not clear. A novel automated image processing system was developed in this study to quantify the damage after the surgery, revealing how the modified surgery reduced the DONFL. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) images and visual acuity were collected from 65 eyes that underwent a vitrectomy with traditional and modified ILM peeling procedure at Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital preoperatively. We found that DONFL occurred in all 65 eyes of both the traditional and modified ILM peeling groups. The concentric macular dark spots (CMDS) were automatically measured by the image processing system. The mean total area of CMDS was smaller in the modified ILM peeling group (0.224 ± 0.110 mm2) than that of the traditional ILM peeling group (0.385 ± 0.237 mm2), and there is a significant difference between the two groups (p <.05). The morphological difference in the temporal quadrant of CMDS between the two surgery technology groups was significant (p <.001). A universal community testing programme (UCTP) was initiated by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, as part of a territory‐wide initiative to enhance the control of the coronavirus disease (COVID‐19) pandemic, to facilitate the early identification of asymptomatic patients in the community‐transmission chain. The authors (who were also engaged in this programme) observed that, at the end of their 6‐hour shift, most of the HCPs sustained medical device‐related pressure injuries (MDRPI), frequently on their faces, over the bridge of their nose, the upper cheeks, above the ears, lower jaws, and chin that caused pain and erythema. In this study, our team examined whether two different types of dressing (light silicone foam dressing and soft silicone perforated tape dressing) applied on the anatomical locations (including the bridge of the nose, upper cheek, above the ears, and lower jaw) would enable the wearer to pass the quantitative respirator fit testing that was conducted using a PortaCount Pro+ Respirator Fit Tester 8038. We also investigated if any skin reactions occurred after the participants worn the respirator with our applied dressing materials for 240 minutes in a safe laboratory setting. Lastly, we collected the qualitative feedback concerning how the participants felt about the performance of our dressing materials in preventing MDRPI associated with the prolonged use of tight‐fitting FFRs. A small convenience sample of HCPs (n = 24) who participated in the UCTP was recruited. We randomly selected 12 participants for one type of dressing, and the rest for the second type of dressing. Quantitative fit testing showed an adequate seal of the respirators with the use of both types of thin dressings that were available in the clinical settings. All of the participants except one tolerated the dressings for prolonged use without any report of adverse skin reactions. Our findings may move a step forward in assisting the process of developing feasible pre‐emptive skincare practice guidelines to reduce MDRPI during the prolonged use of nanofiber bacterial surgical respirators. As an alternative for polymethyl methacrylate, poly (propylene fumarate) (PPF) has been considered as injectable and biodegradable bone cement; therefore, its mechanical and degradation properties are particularly important. As an environmentally friendly PPF‐based copolymer, which is reinforced by hydroxyapatite, was studied for the properties of the composite. The composites were investigated by evaluating their mechanical properties, hydrophilicity, in vitro degradability, and cytocompatibility. Furthermore, via applying MC3T3‐E1 cells, their cell interaction, including adhesion, proliferation, and in vitro cytotoxicity assay, were assessed. The composite reinforced with 3 wt% hydroxyapatite showed a higher lap‐shear strength (0.71 MPa) and bonding strength (5.24 MPa), a maximum compression strength at fracture (92.44 MPa), and compression strength at yield (35.44 MPa), respectively. Also, mechanical strength, hydrophilicity, and in vitro degradation of composites were enhanced in the presence of hydroxyapatite. In this condition, after a period of immersion (52 weeks) in PBS, the weight loss and degradation rate of composites were found to increased. Cell culture tests indicated that the composite was nontoxic and meaningfully facilitated cell attachment and proliferation. Accordingly, controllable strength and degradation of the composite, along with its proven biocompatibility, make the composite a candidate for the treatment of comminuted fractures. As an index of skin barrier function, transepidermal water loss (TEW) was investigated in subjects reactive to adhesive tapes. Tape reactive subjects showed no difference in TEW in untreated skin when compared to non-reactive subjects. Plastic tape and transparent tape produced varying degrees of dermatitis in reactive subjects; the TEW was increased up to 40-fold of the baseline values correlating with the degree of dermatitis. Paper tape and plastic film without adhesive did not produce dermatitis and increased water loss. Regeneration of skin damage was accompanied by a decrease of TEW values. The Iron Age was the time when people acquired iron processing technology and is generally thought to have begun after 1200 B.C. Some prehistoric iron artifacts made of iron meteorites are dated from the Bronze Age. A nicely preserved meteoritic iron dagger was found in the tomb of King Tutankhamen (1361–1352 B.C.) of ancient Egypt. Yet, its manufacturing method and origin remain unclear. Here, we report nondestructive two‐dimensional chemical analyses of the Tutankhamen iron dagger, conducted at the Egyptian Museum of Cairo. Elemental mapping of Ni on the dagger blade surface shows discontinuous banded arrangements in places with "cubic" symmetry and a bandwidth of about 1 mm, suggesting a Widmanstätten pattern. The intermediate Ni content (11.8 ± 0.5 wt%) with the presence of the Widmanstätten pattern implies the source meteorite of the dagger blade to be octahedrite. The randomly distributed sulfur‐rich black spots are likely remnants of troilite (FeS) inclusions in iron meteorite. The preserved Widmanstätten pattern and remnant troilite inclusion show that the iron dagger was manufactured by low‐temperature (<950 °C) forging. The gold hilt with a few percent of calcium lacking sulfur suggests the use of lime plaster instead of gypsum plaster as an adhesive material for decorations on the hilt. Since the use of lime plaster in Egypt started during the Ptolemaic period (305–30 B.C.), the Ca‐bearing gold hilt hints at its foreign origin, possibly from Mitanni, Anatolia, as suggested by one of the Amarna letters saying that an iron dagger with gold hilt was gifted from the king of Mitanni to Amenhotep III, the grandfather of Tutankhamen. With the aim of developing new electronic functionalities for flexible devices, a transfer process for the preparation of flexible conductive thin films was examined using epitaxially grown anatase Nb: TiO2. Using pulsed laser deposition (PLD), water-soluble Sr3Al2O6 (SAO) was deposited on a single-crystalline LaAlO3 (100) substrate (LAO) as a sacrificial layer, followed by the epitaxial growth of anatase Nb: TiO2 on the sacrificial layer. The Nb: TiO2/SAO/LAO multilayer sample bonded onto a flexible polymer sheet via an adhesive tape was soaked into distilled water to transfer the epitaxially grown Nb: TiO2 thin film from SAO/LAO to the polymer sheet. The transferred anatase Nb: TiO2 thin film retained the clear X-ray diffraction peaks. Moreover, the areal transfer ratio was almost 100%, without the generation of significant impurity phases during the transfer process. On the basis of these results, the examined process was found promising for the preparation of flexible anatase Nb: TiO2 thin films. The voltage drop-current characteristics were measured successfully at room temperature for the transferred anatase Nb: TiO2 thin film using the standard four-probe method with gold electrodes. Adhesives and water exhibit a conflicting correlation as indicated by the failure of most synthetic adhesives in submerged and humid environments. Development of instant, strong, reversible, and long‐lasting adhesives that can adhere to wet surfaces and function in underwater environments presents a formidable challenge, yet it is of paramount importance in biomedical and engineering applications. Herein, viscoelastic and moldable ionogels are developed based on synergistic engineering of aromatic substituents, fluorinated counterions, ionic building blocks, and 3D cross‐linked networks. The molecular design and structural engineering result in a facile synthesis, two bonding methods (glue‐ and tape‐type), and the combined mechanisms of enhanced adhesion and cohesion. The high underwater adhesion strength of over 8.9 MPa is among the best‐performing tape‐type underwater adhesives reported to date. A combination of excellent durability, reliability, deformation resistance, salt tolerance, water proof, antiswelling, and self‐healing properties demonstrates the "self‐contained" underwater adhesion. Furthermore, the extended π‐conjugation of the aromatic pendant groups confers a new functionality to the ionogels – visible fluorescence, enabling intriguing applications such as underwater labeling, information encryption, and signal transmission. This study shines lights on the fabrication of ionogel‐based adhesives and provides their future perspectives in underwater sealing, self‐repair, crack diagnosis, and informational labeling.
