Metaheuristic is one of the techniques to improve the security of image encryption. However, existing metaheuristic image cryptosystems based on metaheuristic may have convergence difficulties during the optimization process, which cause insecurity and slow convergence. Besides, the time cost of the parallel execution model applied to metaheuristic image cryptosystems is not low enough. Therefore, a parallel many‐objective optimized key generation framework is proposed. Firstly, if four or more security indicators of cryptosystem, which are the results of security test, need to be optimized, the many‐objective optimization algorithm is employed to the proposed framework. With method adjusts the chaotic system parameters as the optimization key, which effectively avoid the convergence difficulty of the encryption key. Secondly, a master‐slave parallel model is improved to metaheuristic encryption. The model allocates the most time‐consuming fitness calculation work to slave nodes, which makes the modified model more reasonable and thus reduces the encryption time. To evaluate the performance of the proposed framework, a specific encryption scheme is constructed, that utilizes a 2D quadric map and many‐objective optimization algorithm based on dominance and decomposition (MOEA/DD) to optimize five security indicators. This work presents a unique technique for optimising composite laminates used as structural components, which is critical for situations where failure might result in disastrous effects. Unlike traditional surrogate‐based optimisation approaches, this methodology combines the accurate modelling capabilities of finite element (FE) analysis with the iterative refining capacity of metaheuristic algorithms. By combining these two methodologies, our method intends to improve the design process of laminated shell structures, assuring robustness and dependability is crucial. Compared to existing benchmark solutions, the current FE shows a <1% error for cylindrical and spherical shells. The prime objective of this study is to identify the optimum ply angles for attaining a high fundamental frequency. The problem is NP‐hard because the possible ply angles span a wide range (±90°), making it difficult for optimisation algorithms to find a solution. Seven popular metaheuristic algorithms, namely the genetic algorithm (GA), the ant lion optimisation (ALO), the arithmetic optimisation algorithm (AOA), the dragonfly algorithm (DA), the grey wolf optimisation (GWO), the salp swarm optimisation (SSO), and the whale optimisation algorithm (WOA), are applied to and compared on a wide range of shell design problems. It assesses parameter sensitivity, discovering significant design elements that influence dynamic behaviour. Convergence studies demonstrate the superior performance of AOA, GWO, and WOA optimisers. Rigorous statistical comparisons assist practitioners in picking the best optimisation technique. FE‐GWO, FE‐DA, and FE‐SSA methods surpass the other techniques as well as the layerwise optimisation strategy. Previous studies have emphasized the potential of threshold image segmentation for early breast cancer detection. However, traditional methods encounter challenges regarding low segmentation efficiency and accuracy. Addressing this, the ant colony optimization algorithm for continuous optimization (ACOR) shows promise. Yet, existing ACOR variants still grapple with poor initial population quality, affecting convergence speed and avoiding local optimization. These issues impact segmentation efficiency and accuracy. To tackle them, this study introduces RESACO, an enhanced ACOR version integrating three novel optimization strategies: resampling initialization (RIS), elite exploration (EES), and strengthened convergence mechanism (SCM). RIS enhances initial population quality by resampling regions with individuals demonstrating superior fitness and segmentation efficiency. EES promotes exploration across the search space, preventing local optima entrapment and enhancing model stability. SCM expediting convergence, segmentation efficiency, and precision. RESACO's performance is assessed through extensive experiments using IEEE CEC 2014 and IEEE CEC 2022 benchmark functions, including ablation experiments and comparisons with basic and improved algorithms and ACOR variants. Subsequently, the threshold image segmentation model based on RESACO is compared with other models using metaheuristic algorithms for segmenting realistic breast cancer medical images. A high‐speed railway system is one of the sustainable alternatives to other modes of transportation and may connect the most congested urban cities with minimum carbon emissions. However, the vibration intensity increases as the train's operating speed increases, resulting in deteriorated ride comfort and stability. Hence, this article investigates a 27‐degree‐of‐freedom (DOF) dynamic model of railway vehicles with an improved active suspension system. The decentralized control structure performs the controlling action with five optimized Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controllers that suppress the vehicle body's vertical, lateral, pitch, roll, and yaw motions. Further, to optimize the PID parameters, three metaheuristic optimization techniques, Genetic algorithm (GA), Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO), and Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA), are utilized, and their simulated results are compared with the passive system as well as other conventional tuning technique. Moreover, the performance of the proposed control strategy is evaluated in the frequency domain under random track irregularities, and the results are characterized in terms of power spectral densities (PSDs). The simulated results show that among the proposed metaheuristic algorithms, FPA outperforms with a significant reduction in vehicle vibration compared to other tuning methods. The percentage reduction of the vertical, lateral, pitch, rolls, and yaw accelerations is 71.4%, 35.1%, 52.8%, 48.1%, and 38.2%, respectively, ensuring enhanced vehicle ride comfort. On the Internet, online microblogging and social networks have experienced tremendous growth. As user‐generated content is growing to a huge extent on the internet, the analysis, extraction identification and classification of opinion and sentiment polarity of different aspects has now become a challenging issue in sentiment analysis. In sentiment analysis, aspect level opinion mining, opinion spam review detection, extraction and representation of most relevant accessed data from the user‐generated data is a difficult process. The word vector representation using existing deep learning techniques affects the performance in aspect level opinion mining. Spammers propagate false opinion for payment exchange, which leads to degradation of the financial growth, business, and fame of the organization. To overcome the limitations aspect level opinion mining is used to recognize sentiment and polarity of aspects in the specified text. This work presents various input feature vectors of deep learning approaches aiming to improve performance in aspect level opinion mining. Next, three meta‐heuristic algorithms with k‐means clustering approach for classification of opinion spam reviews on social media transit tweets is presented. Electroencephalography is a core technology of brain computer interfaces. Even a few number of electrodes can produce complex signals that are difficult to interpret. This is particularly true when trying to detect complex mental states, such as the identification of human emotions. This work analyzes the impact of feature reduction using the SJTU Emotion EEG data set, considering inter‐subject and inter‐session EEG classification. It is well established that EEG data tends to be subject dependent, and that the brain patterns produced by a person in response to a specific stimuli will tend to change over their lifetime, we can say that the above classification task is one of the most challenging test scenarios. We extract 1068 time and frequency domain features, single and multiple channels. Feature reduction was analyzed using both filter and wrapper based approaches. In the first group we use principal component analysis, Kernel PCA and Locally Linear Embedding, and in the second three meta‐heuristic algorithms are employed. For classification, we apply multi‐layer perceptron, quadratic discriminant analysis, random forest and support vector machines. Results show up to 100% accuracy on the median test error for some splits in the 10‐fold cross‐validation process. Best results were achieved by filter‐based selection, with the best average accuracy reached by Random Forest (93.20%) and Multi‐Layer Perceptron (92.71%), using components found with Kernel PCA. To the best of our knowledge, these classification results are the best ever achieved for the SEED data set on the subject‐independent and session‐independent problem. Comparisons using a Leave‐One‐Subject‐Out cross‐validation setting shows that the proposed methodology achieves state‐of‐the‐art results using only 12 electrodes. These off‐the‐shelf ML techniques, coupled with filter based feature reduction, achieve the best results, outperforming complex classification models and wrapper based meta‐heuristics. Deep learning and metaheuristic algorithms have recently increased in various sciences, including financial accounting information systems (FAISs). However, the existence of large datasets has dramatically increased the complexity of these hybrid networks, so to address this shortcoming, this paper aims to develop a quantum‐behaved chimp optimization algorithm (QCHOA) and deep neural network (DNN) for the prediction of the profit based on FAISs. Considering that there is no suitable dataset for the challenge, a novel dataset is developed utilizing the 15 features from the Chinese market dataset to compare more. This work designs QCHOA and five DNN‐based predictors to forecast profit. These algorithms include the universal learning CHOA (ULCHOA), the niching CHOA (NCHOA) as the two best‐modified versions of CHOA, the quantum‐behaved whale optimization algorithm (QWOA), and the quantum‐behaved grey wolf optimizer (QGWO) as the two best quantum‐behaved optimizers as well as classic CHOA. The most effective deep learning‐based predictors for forecasting the profit, ranked from highest to lowest, are DNN‐QCHOA, DNN‐NCHOA, DNN‐QWOA, DNN‐QGWO, DNN‐ULCHOA, DNN‐CHOA, and classic DNN, with corresponding ranking scores of 42, 36, 30, 24, 18, 12, and 6. Anaemia occurs when the haemoglobin (Hgb) value falls below a certain reference range. It requires many blood tests, radiological images, and tests for diagnosis and treatment. By processing medical data from patients with artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, disease predictions can be made for newly ill individuals and decision‐support mechanisms can be created for physicians with these predictions. Thanks to these methods, which are very important in reducing the margin of error in the diagnoses made by doctors, the evaluation of data records in health institutions is also important for patients and hospitals. In this study, six hybrid models are proposed to classify non‐anaemia records, Hgb‐anaemia, folate deficiency anaemia (FDA), iron deficiency anaemia (IDA), and B12 deficiency anaemia by combining artificial intelligence and machine learning methods TreeBagger, Crow Search Algorithm (CSA), Chicken Swarm Optimization Algorithm (CSO) and JAYA methods. The proposed hybrid models are analysed with two different approaches, with/without applying the SMOTE technique to achieve high performance by better emphasizing the importance of parameters. To solve the multiclass anaemia classification problem, fuzzy logic‐based parameter optimization is applied to improve the class‐based accuracy as well as the overall accuracy in the dataset. The proposed methods are evaluated using ROC criteria to build a prediction model to determine the anaemia type of anaemic patients. As a result of the study on the dataset taken from the Kaggle database, it is observed that the six proposed hybrid methods outperformed other studies using the same dataset and similar studies in the literature. Binary combinatorial optimization plays a crucial role in various scientific and engineering fields. While deterministic approaches have traditionally been used to solve these problems, stochastic methods, particularly metaheuristics, have gained popularity in recent years for efficiently handling large problem instances. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is among the most successful metaheuristics and is frequently employed in non‐binary combinatorial problems due to its adaptability. Although for binary combinatorial problems ACO can suffer from issues such as rapid convergence to local minima, its eminently parallel structure means that it can be exploited to solve large and complex problems also in this field. In order to provide a versatile ACO implementation that achieves competitive results across a wide range of binary combinatorial optimization problems, we introduce a parallel multicolony strategy with an improved cooperation scheme to maintain search diversity. We evaluate our proposal (Binary Parallel Cooperative ACO, BiPCACO) using a comprehensive benchmark framework, showcasing its performance and, most importantly, its flexibility as a successful all‐purpose solver for binary combinatorial problems. Feature selection techniques play a vital role in the processes that deal with enormous amounts of data. These techniques have become extremely crucial and necessary for data mining and machine learning problems. Researchers have always been in a race to develop and provide libraries and frameworks to standardise this procedure. In this work, we propose a hybrid meta‐heuristic algorithm to facilitate the problem of feature selection for classification problems in machine learning. It is a python based, lucid and efficient algorithm geared towards optimising and striking a balance between the number of features selected and accuracy. The proposed work is a binary hybrid of existing meta‐heuristic algorithms, the particle swarm optimisation (PSO) algorithm, and the firefly algorithm (FA) such that it blends the best of each algorithm to provide an optimised and efficient way of solving the said problem. The suggested approach is assessed against six datasets from different domains that are publicly available at the UCI repository to demonstrate its validity. The datasets are Breast cancer, Iris, WBC, Mushroom, Glass ID, and Abalone. This approach has also been evaluated against similar, such evolutionary‐based approaches to prove its superiority. Various metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, f1 score, number of selected features, and run time have been analysed, measured, and compared. Grey wolf optimizer (GWO) is a highly valued heuristic algorithm in many fields. However, for some complex problems, especially high‐dimensional and multimodal problems, the basic algorithm has limited computational power and cannot get a satisfactory answer. In order to find a better solution, an improved algorithm based on GWO is proposed herein. Gaussian barebone, random selection and chaotic game mechanisms are introduced into the GWO algorithm to enhance the global search ability. The GWO enhanced by three mechanisms is called CBRGWO. To verify the performance of CBRGWO, using IEEE CEC 2017 as a test function, CBRGWO is compared to five GWO variants, five basic algorithms, six advanced algorithms, and four champion algorithms. CBRGWO is evaluated using the Friedman test and Wilcoxon signed‐rank test. Then, the stability of CBRGWO is analyzed. To verify that CBRGWO is still effective in practical application, CBRGWO is applied to five engineering problems and a water quality prediction problem. Maintaining stability in modern power systems is challenging due to complex structures, rising power demand, and load disturbances. The integration of renewable energy sources further threatens stability by causing imbalances between generation and demand. Conventional load frequency stabilization methods fall short in such scenarios. This paper proposes an optimal fractional‐order proportional‐integral‐derivative‐acceleration (FOPIDA) controller, enhanced by a robust adaptive neuro‐fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), to improve load frequency control and reliability in power systems with wind and solar generators. First, the dynamical model of a multi‐area interconnected power system, including a thermal power plant, wind turbine, and solar photovoltaic generators, is developed. A decentralized ANFIS‐FOPIDA controller is then designed for load frequency control objectives. The gains of this controller are optimized using the whale optimization algorithm (WOA), focusing on frequency deviation and tie‐line power exchange. Simulations on a New England IEEE 10‐generator 39‐bus power system demonstrate the approach's effectiveness under various disturbances, including random load‐generation disturbances and nonlinear generation behaviors. Comparisons with other strategies, such as fractional order (FO) beetle swarm optimization algorithm (FOBSOA)‐FOPIDA, WOA‐PIDA, and WOA‐ANFIS‐PIDA, and recent control approaches highlight the superior performance of the WOA‐ANFIS‐FOPIDA method in enhancing power system stability. Using Hybrid optimization algorithms for nonlinear systems analysis is a novel approach. It is a powerful technique that uses the exploitation ability of one algorithm and the exploration ability of another algorithm, to find the best solution. Literature survey reveals that hybrid algorithms not only show quality response but also give faster convergence of error for nonlinear systems. In this paper, hybrid optimization techniques based proportional integral derivative (PID) controller is used for benchmark problems: Continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR), Inverted pendulum and blood glucose system. Two recent hybrid algorithms: Particle swarm optimization‐Gravitational search algorithm (PSO‐GSA) and Particle swarm optimization‐Grey wolf algorithm (PSO‐GWO) are implemented to control the temperature and concentration of CSTR, pendulum angle of inverted pendulum, glucose concentration and insulin level of blood glucose system. In PID and PSOGWO algorithms, the exploration abilities of GSA and GWO combined with the exploitation ability of PSO have been used. The performance of these algorithms is then compared with individual PSO, GSA, and GWO algorithms proving their superiority. Stability is ensured using the Lyapunov approach while the robustness of the systems is checked using the parameter perturbation technique. Simulation results show substantial improvement in the performance of these systems by using these meta‐heuristic hybrid optimization techniques. The aim of a Green Vehicle Routing Problem is to find an optimal route for alternative fuel vehicles to minimize the overall travelling distances while reducing energy consumption and CO2emissions. In this problem each vehicle handles a subset of customers/orders, leaving from and returning to the depot, with respect to maximum distance travelled, while minimizing energy consumptions. We proposed a time window‐based GVRP solution (GVRP‐TW) with exact routing approach. Wherein, each route serves a subset of customers/orders with minimum intermediate refuelling/recharges. To test our method, we conducted experiments using MATLAB software on a set of three reference problem specimens (C‐101, R‐101 and RC‐11). Our approach, evaluated on these benchmark problems, par exceeds in performance in relation to the existing VRP methods (like tabu search, variable neighbourhood search, and GRASP). The pre‐insertion resistors (PIR) within high‐voltage circuit breakers are critical components and warm up by generating Joule heat when an electric current flows through them. Elevated temperature can lead to temporary closure failure and, in severe cases, the rupture of PIR. To accurately predict the temperature of PIR, this study combines finite element simulation techniques with Support Vector Regression (SVR) optimized by an Improved Whale Optimization Algorithm (IWOA) approach. The IWOA includes Tent mapping, a convergence factor based on the sigmoid function, and the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck variation strategy. The IWOA‐SVR model is compared with the SSA‐SVR and WOA‐SVR. The results reveal that the prediction accuracies of the IWOA‐SVR model were 90.2% and 81.5% (above 100°C) in the ± 3°C temperature deviation range and 96.3% and 93.4% (above 100°C) in the ± 4°C temperature deviation range, surpassing the performance of the comparative models. This research demonstrates that the method proposed can realize the online monitoring of the temperature of the PIR, which can effectively prevent thermal faults PIR and provide a basis for the opening and closing of the circuit breaker within a short period. How to effectively utilize renewable energy and improve the economic efficiency of microgrid system and its ability to consume renewable energy has become one of the main problems facing China at present. In response to this challenge, this paper establishes a multiobjective capacity optimization model with the minimum levelized cost of energy, the maximum proportion of renewable energy consumption, and the minimum comprehensive system cost. Based on this model, a new improved beluga whale optimization algorithm is proposed to solve the multiobjective optimization problem in the capacity allocation process of wind–solar–storage microgrid system with the goal of ensuring that the microgrid can meet the maximum load demand at different moments throughout the year. In this paper, opposition‐based learning, artificial bee colony, dynamic opposite, and beluga whale optimization are combined to improve the population diversity and convergence accuracy, thereby enhancing the optimization performance of the algorithm. Finally, after finding the optimal Pareto front solution, the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution is used to help decision‐makers select the optimal solution. Using real load data and meteorological data, the results of this paper show that the multiobjective capacity allocation optimization method of grid‐connected scenic storage microgrid system based on the improved beluga whale optimization algorithm can improve the economics of the wind–solar–storage microgrid system and promote the photovoltaic consumption simultaneously, providing a solution for the realization of low‐carbon power and regional economic development. This paper introduces a novel metaheuristic technique, a COOT‐based algorithm, to determine the optimal Distributed Generation (DG) allocation within a loop‐configured network. This method significantly narrows the optimization gap by leveraging a COOT‐based algorithm, ensuring accelerated convergence and resultant global optima. The core incentive for employing this technique is to substantially mitigate power loss, curtail voltage deviation, and bolster system stability in a loop distribution network. To attain optimal outcomes, the elaborated COOT and improved grey wolf optimization improved grey wolf optimization (IGWO) algorithms were executed on IEEE bus‐33 and 69 mesh distribution networks (MDNs) under varying power factors. The derived mathematical results effectively underscore accomplishing the stipulated objectives: a marked reduction in voltage deviation and power loss coupled with an augmentation in system stability. Notably, at unity, incorporating DGs resulted in a paramount reduction in power loss, attaining a decrease of 78% and 85% for bus‐33 and 69 MDNs, respectively. Moreover, an impressive decrease in power loss by 94% and 98% was observed at the optimal power factor for both MDNs. A comparative evaluation of the results accentuates that the proposed COOT and IGWO algorithms eclipse other documented research in performance, showcasing superior efficiency on a techno‐economic basis. Precisely locating the voltage sag sources is significant for improving power quality and clarifying the responsibilities of both power supply and consumption. However, the existing location models are complex, computationally intensive, and influenced by the measurement error and fault type, which have low positioning efficiency and large errors. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for locating voltage sag sources based on power polarity and twin characteristics matching. The method firstly uses the polarity of the sequence sag component disturbance reactive power at the monitoring point to determine the sag line. Secondly, the basic realization method of the twin power system is discussed, and the twin characteristics are defined by combining the positive and negative sequence sag component disturbance reactive power and the twin database is established. Thirdly, the spectral norm and Pearson product‐moment correlation coefficient are used to define the data matching degree, and the precise location model of the sag source is established with the objective function of maximizing the data matching between the twin characteristics of the preset and actual sag. Modern electrical networks, particularly microgrids, have seen a sharp rise in acquiring non‐conventional sources. The inertia of the microgrid decreases drastically because RESs have been used in place of traditional synchronous generators. The reduced inertia negatively impacts the dynamics and performance of the microgrid with RESs, which decreases the microgrid's stability, especially in operation on an island. The primary purpose of this research study is to enhance the dynamic security of an island microgrid by merging an electric vehicle with a frequency control technique based on virtual inertia control. A Proportional Integral Derivative Filter Constant (PIDFN) controller optimally created using the Modified Differential Evolution (MDE) method served as the foundation for control in the virtual inertia control loop. The effectiveness of the MDE‐based PIDFN controller was examined considering the diverse operational scenarios are compared and contrasted with those of traditional methods Differential Evolution (DE) and Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO)‐based PIDFN controllers. Real‐time wind and solar power statistics and random load fluctuations were incorporated to provide realistic simulation settings. This paper presents an enhanced whale optimization algorithm based on virtual force to optimize coverage and address the problem of uneven coverage during the deployment of underwater sensor networks. This method is guided by the Lévy flight and virtual force algorithms and adopts a differential mutation strategy based on random walks. This study elucidates the use of optimization algorithms to identify the controller parameters employed in adjusting the current and voltage values of loads powered by solar energy systems and battery groups. Parameters for these controllers were independently derived using a combination of ant colony optimization with Levy flight, hybrid firefly‐particle swarm optimization, hybrid gravitation search algorithm‐particle swarm optimization, alongside the implementation of Jaya and whale optimization algorithms. The results from each method were juxtaposed for thorough analysis. In addition, three distinct Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) algorithms were employed in the system: perturbation and observation, open circuit voltage, and incremental conductance (IC). To assess the system's adaptability to real‐world conditions, it was tested against varying temperatures and sunlight levels. Moreover, potential changes in the loads were considered by varying the load. The efficacy of the controllers was examined by altering both the environment and load. The effectiveness of the controllers was examined by referring to the integral of time‐weighted absolute error value. The system was simulated using MATLAB/Simulink software. This study demonstrates that the fractional‐order PID controller achieves the most effective results, the Jaya algorithm provides the best controller parameters, and the IC technique exhibits the highest performance in MPPT. This study proposes an optimal approach for enhancing the quality of a weak electrical power distribution system by utilizing thyristor‐controlled series capacitors (TCSC). The proposed approach considers various system components, including shunt capacitors and distributed generators that rely on renewable energy sources, which are characterized by uncertainty due to changing weather conditions. The proposed system maximizes the benefits of these components by updating its parameters to improve the distribution power system's quality under all operating conditions, which change due to the varying energy generated by the distributed generators and load changes. The optimal TCSC values are calculated for all operating conditions using the Hyper‐Spherical Search with graded objective functions management strategy (HSSA‐GOFMS) algorithm. The GOFMS converts all restrictions into objective functions with limits and prioritizes the search for objectives according to a sequential system of priorities. This strategy prevents the possibility of non‐convergence. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in improving the performance quality of a weak electrical distribution system. The proposed strategy achieves the target voltage level limits within nominal values, even with the interference of the system with generators distributed at variable power levels. A novel deep learning‐based optimization (DLBO) methodology is proposed for rapidly optimizing phononic crystal‐based metastructure topologies. DLBO eliminates the need for pre‐optimized data by leveraging the learned relation from metastructure features to bandgaps. It enables optimization based on qualitative/quantitative descriptions and forms a regular generalization domain to avoid misjudgments. DLBO achieves similar or better results to genetic algorithm (GA) and only requires 0.01% of the time GA costs. Metastructures with different periodic constants and filling fractions are also optimized, offering insights for balancing space, material, and vibration isolation. Based on a newly defined objective function, an economical metastructure is customized for subway‐induced vibrations; and its performance on vibration isolation is verified through a 3D finite element model. Predicting carbon prices is crucial for the growth of China's carbon trading industry. This paper proposes a residual correction model that considers multiple influencing factors. First, the best historical data and main external factors input by the model are determined by using the partial autocorrelation function and Spearman correlation analysis, and the carbon price forecasting index system is constructed. Second, the whale optimization algorithm (WOA) is utilized to determine the optimal parameters of the extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost), and the WOA‐XGBoost model is built to perform preliminary carbon price forecasts and obtain the residual series. Finally, the carbon price residual series undergoes decomposition into multiple components utilizing the complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition for subsequent forecasting and the aggregation of outcomes. Experiments are conducted to predict two carbon trading markets in Hubei and Guangzhou, and a feature importance analysis is performed. The results indicate that the proposed hybrid model consistently outperforms the comparative models in terms of prediction accuracy. This article introduces a novel approach named HBA‐dHoSMO, which combines a continuous decentralized higher‐order sliding mode controller‐based observer (dHoSMO) with the honey badger algorithm (HBA), specifically designed for load frequency control in multi‐area power systems (MAPSs). Traditional sliding mode controllers (SMCs) employed in load frequency control of MAPSs often face challenges related to chattering and oscillations, leading to decreased robustness and stability. Additionally, tuning the parameters for these SMC designs to achieve optimal performance in MAPSs can be challenging. The HBA‐dHoSMO is proposed to address the issues of chattering and oscillations, while the optimal parameters for SMC design are obtained using HBA. The stability analysis of the entire system is conducted using linear matrix inequality and the Lyapunov stability theory, affirming the reliability and feasibility of the approach. A comprehensive set of case studies is performed under various configurations and conditions. Additionally, particle swarm optimization and tuna swarm optimization, in conjunction with SMC‐based and proportional–integral–derivative controllers, are examined for performance comparison. Simulation results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed controller across all case studies. This paper focuses on deriving new approximate analytical solutions in wedge‐shaped aquifers. The proposed methodology is applicable to any type of aquifer namely, leaky, confined and unconfined, under both steady state and transient flow conditions. By applying the method of images and separating the flow field into sections using physical arguments, approximate analytical expressions are obtained for the drawdown function, which in contrast to the conventional theory, are applicable to any arbitrary wedge angle. Moreover, the solutions fully observe the boundary conditions, while they preserve the continuity of the drawdown, which can be calculated directly at any point of the flow field. Nevertheless, comparison of the results of the new approximate analytical solutions to numerical ones, has been considered necessary to check their validity. MODFLOW, a well‐known numerical tool is used to calculate the numerical results. The discrepancies between the numerical results and those of the approximate analytical solution are negligible. This paper proposes a whale optimization algorithm (WOA)‐based partial transmit sequence (PTS) scheme called WOA‐PTS to reduce the high peak‐to‐average power ratio (PAPR) for universal filtered multi‐carrier (UFMC) systems. High PAPR is a prevalent challenge encountered in multi‐carrier systems. In the conventional PTS technique, the optimization of phase rotation factors is achieved through multiplication with the sub‐blocks. In this undertaking, WOA optimization is integrated as a phase optimizer in the PTS‐based PAPR reduction scheme. The experimental results show that, when compared with PTS‐based UFMC signal, the UFMC signal with WOA‐PTS can achieve 4.15 dB PAPR reduction at the complementary cumulative distribution function value of 10−3, additionally power spectral density performance and bit error rate also improved. Ransomware is a serious security concern to mobile devices, as it prevents the use of the device and its contents until a ransom is paid, resulting in considerable financial losses for both people and corporations. The existing anti‐malware measures have shown to be inadequate in combatting new malware variants that utilize advanced evasion strategies like Polymorphic, Metamorphic, Dynamic Code Loading, Time‐based evasion, and Reflection. Furthermore, these primary defences have also suffered from low detection rates, significant false positives, high processing times, and excessive processing and power consumption that is inappropriate for smartphones. This paper offers the binary JAYA (BJAYA) for ransomware detection in Android mobile devices using the BJAYA optimization‐based algorithm. The developed algorithm's effectiveness has been assessed against two datasets, the 0–1 knapsack, and real ransomware dataset. The proposed BJAYA method surpassed the other algorithms on 85% of the 0–1 knapsack datasets. The suggested BJAYA method was also tested on a ransomware dataset in two phases. In the first stage of testing, BJAYA outperformed other standard classifiers with sensitivity and Gmean values of 97% and 98.2%, respectively. In the second stage of testing, BJAYA outperformed other GA, FPA, and PSO metaheuristic algorithms in terms of specificity, sensitivity, and Gmean. The study proposes a modified version of African Vultures Optimization Algorithm (AVOA) to address the optimal power flow (OPF) issue. The developed optimizer is called Chaotic AVOA (CAVOA). Prior to applying CAVOA to the problem at hand, its accuracy is evaluated using 23 benchmark functions. The production powers of WTs that are interrupted are predicted using Weibull probability density functions (PDFs). Two additional costs, namely penalty cost and reserve cost, are incorporated into the goal function of the OPF. The simulation results of CAVOA are compared with those of the original AVOA to solve the OPF. The proposed OPF technique and its solution methodology are verified on the IEEE 30‐bus test system, taking into account the flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS) devices, which have several benefits such as reducing active power transmission loss, regulating power flow, and improving voltage stability/profile. The research's simulation results demonstrate that CAVOA is more effective in identifying the OPF's optimal solution by reducing the overall power cost and power losses. The results indicate that the CAVOA algorithm outperforms AVOA as a metaheuristic optimization algorithm due to its superior capability in addressing challenging OPF problems with a minimal convergence rate. For example, when comparing the two algorithms, CAVOA achieved a significant improvement. It successfully reduced the cost function by approximately 0.023% in Case I and 0.035% in Case II, while also decreasing power loss by 2.57% in Case II and 0.57% in Case I. Additionally, CAVOA exhibited a remarkable reduction of 5.36% in voltage deviation compared to AVOA in Case I. Classifying and quantifying small molecules on‐site with a rapid and cost‐effective operation are essential for pharmaceutical manufacturing, healthcare, hazardous risk control, and other applications. However, traditional molecular detection and identification methods like chromatography often involve expensive and bulky equipment and are required to be operated by trained professionals, which severely hinders the further development of small molecule‐based applications. Herein, a novel molecular detection platform is introduced by imaging a spatial gradient metasurface consisting of millions of different unique atoms and following with deep learning modeling to classify and quantify small molecules from mixed solutions accurately. The metasurface has a circular gradient geometry, which changes its transmittance intensity pattern based on the surrounding molecules under narrow‐band illumination. A convolutional neural network trained on the monochromatic images of the metasurface is employed. The results demonstrate a recognition rate of 96.88% for classification and a mean absolute error of 16.23% for quantification. This novel platform enables label‐free, sensitive, and rapid molecular classification and quantification, which opens a new avenue for small molecule classification and quantification and enables possibilities for real‐time, on‐site, and label‐free applications, including environmental monitoring, drug screening, and early diagnosis. This paper proposes a method based on scenario optimization and meta‐heuristic algorithm to optimize the power system stabilizers (PSSs) for enhancement of small‐signal stability (SSS) considering power system uncertainties such as photovoltaic generation, wind turbine generation, and load. The proposed method consists of two stages. In the first stage, the uncertainties are modeled using probability functions and scenarios are created based on them. These scenarios are then used to obtain a joint probability where the most likely probabilities are chosen for the second stage. The second stage utilizes these critical scenarios to formulate an optimization problem. The objective function of the optimization problem is to enhance system's small signal stability margin with PSS parameters as constraints. The proposed method is then solved using a new meta‐heuristic optimization algorithm known as Jelly Search Optimizer to obtain the optimized parameter of PSSs. The proposed method is tested on a two‐area and five‐area system, and the results show that the system SSS margin is improved for the majority of uncertainty situations. Moreover, the proposed method is around 1.6 times faster compared to the conventional probability method when tested in the modified two‐area system while 5.7 times faster when tested in the modified five‐area system. Lung cancer is the most critical disease because it affects both men and women. Most of the time, lung cancer leads to death due to less health care and medical attention. In addition, lung cancer is difficult to identify in earlier stages due to the low‐level symptoms and risk factors. To overcome the complexity, effective techniques must predict lung cancer earlier. To attain the problem statement, an lung cancer identification system is developed with the help of a meta‐heuristic algorithm. The CT imageries obtained from the CIA database are analyzed step by step. The gathered image noise is removed by applying the mean filter, and the affected regions are segmented with the help of the Butterfly Optimization Algorithm‐based K‐Means Clustering (BOAKMC) algorithm. Afterward, various statistical features are derived, and the Supervised Jaya Optimized Rough Set related Feature Selection (SJORSFS) process is used to select the lung features. Finally, the lung cancer is identified using Autoencoder based Recurrent Neural Network (ARNN) classification algorithm, successfully recognizing the lung cancer features. Then the system's efficiency is evaluated using a MATLAB setup; here, 3000 are treated as training images and 2043 for testing images. Feature selection is a fundamental pre‐processing step in machine learning that aims to reduce the dimensionality of a dataset by selecting the most effective features from the original features. This process is regarded as a combinatorial optimization problem, and the grey wolf optimizer (GWO), a novel meta‐heuristic algorithm, has gained popularity in feature selection due to its fast convergence speed and easy implementation. In this paper, an improved binary GWO algorithm incorporating a novel Population Adaptation strategy called PA‐BGWO is proposed. The PA‐BGWO takes into account the characteristics of the feature selection problem and designs three strategies. The proposed strategy includes an adaptive individual update procedure to enhance the exploitation ability and accelerate convergence speed, a head wolf fine‐tuned mechanism to exert the impact on each independent feature of the objective function, and a filter‐based method ReliefF for calculating feature weights with dynamically adjusted mutation probabilities based on the ranking features to effectively escape from local optima. Experimental comparisons with several state‐of‐the‐art feature selection methods on 15 classification problems demonstrate that the proposed approach can select a small feature subset with higher classification accuracy in most cases. From an engineering point of view, non‐linear systems are essential to the operation of control systems, because all systems actually have a non‐linear state in nature. In reality, there are many different kinds of non‐linear systems hidden by this negative definition. For successful analysis and control, the identification of non‐linear systems using unknown models is typically necessary. Till now, numerous approaches are developed for identifying non‐linear systems, but it cannot be employed with a large number of components. Moreover, system identification is typically restricted to output and input signals alone, also such systems are rarely used in reality. This is the primary justification for using non‐linear systems in this research. So, this research proposed a non‐linear model of system identification for large‐scale systems under the consideration of two systems: bilinear system and Volterra system. Therefore, a novel algorithm named Self Adaptive Penguin Search Optimization (SAPeSO) is introduced to attain the system characteristics properly and minimize the output variation. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed work is compared with existing works in terms of various error measures. This research mainly focuses on the application‐oriented engineering problems. In particular, the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of the proposed work for the Volterra system at 4000 samples is 18.83%, 14.05%, 8.88%, 29.72%, 19.91%, and 6.70% which is better than the existing bald eagle search (BES), arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA), whale optimization algorithm (WOA), nonlinear autoregressive moving average with exogenous inputs‐ frequency response function + principal component analysis (NARMAX‐FRF+PCA), Global Gravitational Search Algorithm‐Assisted Kalman Filter (CGS‐KF), and sparse regression and separable least squares method (SR‐SLSM) methods, respectively. This paper presents a differential complementary metal oxide semiconductor inductor‐capacitor voltage controlled oscillator (LC‐VCO). The VCO is adopted from the gate‐to‐source capacitor feedback Colpitts VCO which has the advantage of large value of negative conductance. Due to the large negative conductance, the VCO has a more reliable startup oscillation at the lower currents. The main characteristics of the VCO such as negative conductance, oscillation frequency and phase noise are discussed and analysed. The value of parameters in this circuit have been determined using Non‐dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA‐II) to have the optimum performance. The designed VCO oscillates at 2.76 GHz under a supply voltage of 1.4 V. Power dissipation of the proposed VCO is 873 μW which is significantly lower than that of some other VCOs. With the advantages of the low cost of transmission lines and high efficiency, the DC microgrid has become a rising star in the low‐voltage network. However, multi‐source and multi‐transformation characteristics in DC microgrids will lead to the existence of various forms of ripple generation sources in the system. The existence of a large amount of ripple not only directly cause the reduction of power quality of DC microgrids, but also decreases the accuracy of electricity billing. It is vital to achieving accurate ripple detection for the reliable power supply of the DC microgrid. A DC‐side ripple detection method, which combines the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA), Variational Modal Decomposition (VMD), and Hilbert Transform (HT), is therefore investigated and proposed here. Firstly, the sample entropy (SampEn) is used as the fitness function, applied the whale optimization algorithm, is to determine the optimal decomposition scale and penalty factor, of the variational modal decomposition; then, the ripple‐containing DC signal is decomposed into a series of eigenmodal components (imf) by the optimized variational modal decomposition algorithm. Finally, the Hilbert Transform is performed to obtain the amplitude and frequency of the ripple components. To prove the effectiveness, the proposed method is compared with the conventional Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) and the VMD algorithm, by testing simulated DC signals without and with noise. This paper implements Broyden's Method Assisted Differential Evolution (BMADE) algorithm for eliminating third and fifth harmonics in the output voltage of 7‐level cascaded H‐Bridge multilevel inverter (CHB‐MLI) using selective harmonic elimination technique. Calculations of switching angles are done for various modulation index values (M). Initial guess for Broyden's method is calculated by Differential Evolution (DE). Exact value of switching angles is then calculated by Broyden's method using initial guess obtained from DE. Code of BMADE algorithm for obtaining the required switching angles is written in MATLAB. Results obtained with BMADE algorithm are compared with various other techniques that is, Genetic Algorithm (GA), DE, and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA). BMADE is able to successfully eliminate third and fifth order harmonics in the output voltage. Along with removing the desired harmonics, BMADE also provides lower THD than GA, DE, and WOA for certain range of M. The results also showed that BMADE is faster than GA, DE, and WOA as the execution time of BMADE is lesser than GA, DE, and WOA. Flexible power point tracking (FPPT) is a common and significate photovoltaic control problem under partial shading conditions. Based on CPP and MPP distribution analysis, both constant power point tracking and maximum power point tracking could be mathematically described by a single objective optimization. As one of the recent meta‐heuristic algorithms, which avoid the limitations of conventional scanning methods, the carnivorous plant algorithm (CPA) solves non‐convex optimization problems with fast speed, high accuracy, and simple calculation. However, it exhibits several drawbacks such as inappropriate parameters, over‐searching, and feasible solution ignored issues. Therefore, a global FPPT strategy based on modified CPA (mCPA) is proposed, which includes a search objective integration, efficient non‐convex search space skipping strategy, and adaptive tuning parameters according to sensitivity analysis. By statistical experiments compared with eight popular meta‐heuristic algorithms, the mCPA can correctly converge to the global MPP under various scenarios with the highest accuracy of 99.0%. Meanwhile, the observations of dynamic experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy in terms of fast time response (0.5–3 s) for global FPPT under various uniform and non‐uniform insolation conditions. Multiple uncertainties such as renewable energy output, energy purchase prices and integrated demand responses have brought about severe challenges to the safe and economic operation of integrated energy system (IES). To meet this challenge, this study takes the combined cooling heating and power as an example of IES and proposes an optimization model considering multiple uncertainties. First, the structure of IES is given, and these mathematical models and constraints are listed according to the energy supply characteristics. Second, considering uncertain factors such as the wind and solar output, comprehensive demand response and energy purchase price, the different characterization methods are selected to model the uncertainty sources by identifying the characteristics of multiple uncertainty sources. Then, combining the stochastic scenario method and robust optimization method, a day‐ahead optimal scheduling model of IES with multiple uncertainties is established, and the whale optimization algorithm is improved to obtain the optimal solution of the model. Finally, the actual data of an IES is selected to verify the rationality and effectiveness of the model. Feature selection is a knowledge discovery tool to understand the problem by analysing features. In particular, the application of feature selection in data mining can not only improve the quality of extracted patterns and knowledge but also decrease computational costs. Various techniques have been applied to this complex optimization problem, in which metaheuristics have been validated to be superior. This study introduces a new metaheuristic known for having lean and fast programming, inspired by the sunflower's motions for feature selection for the first time. It is equipped with a v‐shaped transfer function and associated with the KNN classifier to become the binary sunflower optimization (BSFO). A total of 12 variants of BSFO are designed based on the chaos theory and Lévy flights, called improved binary sunflower optimization (IBSFO). A discussion between these improvement theories for feature selection has also not been made yet, and it is performed in this paper using 15 benchmark datasets from the UCI repository. The experimental results show that all variants can advance the fitness value of BSFO, and nine of them considerably decrease the computational costs. Furthermore, the chaotic BSFO with the Chebyshev function, taking replacement to normal rand, has the lowest fitness value (−11.37%) and execution time (−9.31%) than the original BSFO. Further, IBSFO is compared with another eight metaheuristics and outperforms these competitors on average fitness value and execution time. Overall, IBSFO proved to find subsets with reduced dimension and high accuracy with meagre computational cost due to its robust explorative and exploitative capacities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study presents the performance of stand‐alone and novel hybrid models combining the feed‐forward neural network (FFNN) and extreme gradient boosting (XGB) with the genetic algorithm (GA) optimization to determine the riverine flood potential at a local spatial scale, which is represented by the Gidra river basin, Slovakia. Eleven flood factors and a robust flood inventory database, consisting of 10,000 flood and non‐flood locations, were used. Using the FFNN, XGB, GA‐FFNN and GA‐XGB models, 16.5%, 11.0%, 17.1%, and 12.3% of the studied basin, respectively, is characterized with high to very high riverine flood potential. The applied models resulted in very high accuracy, that is, AUC = 0.93 in case of the FFNN stand‐alone model and AUC = 0.96 in case of the XGB stand‐alone model. The GA algorithm was able to raise the value of AUC for the hybrid GA‐FFNN and GA‐XGB models to 0.94 and 0.97, respectively. The results of this study can be useful, especially, for the identification of the areas with the highest potential for riverine floods within the next updating of the Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment, which is being carried out based on the EU Floods Directive. The application of iterative techniques for solving the Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHE‐PWM) problem, such as the Newton–Raphson (NR) method, can tend to get stuck at local optima in the solution space. Additionally, these methods may be sensitive to the initial value estimation of the solution. In contrast, metaheuristic approaches demonstrate resilience in seeking out the optimal solution. As such, this study utilizes the Runge–Kutta (RUN) metaheuristic optimization algorithm to demonstrate the SHE‐PWM technique in multilevel inverters (MLIs), including 5‐ and 7‐level modified H‐bridge (MHB) topology and a 9‐level asymmetric cascaded H‐bridge (CHB) inverter topology. The switching angles are obtained by varying the modulation index from 0.01 to 1.0 in steps of 0.01 for 5‐, 7‐, and 9‐level MLIs. The performance of the RUN algorithm in minimizing the total harmonic distortion (THD) value is verified through simulations in MATLAB/Simulink software. The superiority of RUN is established by comparing the results with state‐of‐the‐art metaheuristic algorithms, such as the Differential Evolution (DE), Genetic Algorithm (GA), and Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO). Additionally, the switching angles obtained through RUN are validated by hardware experiments. According to the simulation and experimental results, the proposed RUN method exhibits better performance in terms of objective function values, algorithm robustness, fundamental harmonic magnitude, and THD values. In this paper, a two‐way relay‐aided cognitive satellite terrestrial network (TR‐CSTN) model is proposed, where primary users are located at the edge of the base station. In the TR‐CSTN, one of satellite terminal users (STUs) is selected by the fusion center as the TR to forward information between two edge primary users with power of the TR. Meanwhile, these edge primary users share the licensed frequency band with the selected TR to send information to the satellite. Then, given the limited spectrum utilization and energy efficiency (EE) of the communication system, the cooperative spectrum sensing is employed to realize green communication. Specifically, the fusion center threshold, energy detection threshold, sensing duration and number of STUs are jointly optimized to enhance EE. Furthermore, considering that the node's energy shortage results in a short network lifetime, absolute EE gets improved. In detail, a power allocation scheme named normalized power aided Lévy flight trajectory‐based whale optimization algorithm (NP‐LWOA) is provided, which fulfills effective energy compensation among STUs to prolong the network lifetime notably. Finally, numerical results confirm the theoretical analysis and show the effectiveness of the TR‐CSTN and the NP‐LWOA in efficiently achieving the concept of green communication compared with other methods. The ideal gas molecular movement (IGMM) as a metaheuristic optimization method is a prominent option for solving optimization problems. However, in some complex cases, IGMM may possess premature convergence or get trapped in local optima. Therefore, to tackle these issues, this paper indicates a new modified IGMM algorithm named opposition‐based IGMM, which has been incorporated with opposition based learning (OBL), Cauchy mutation (CM), velocity clamping (VC), and mirror operator (MO) to enhance its performance. OBL, VC, and MO improve the convergence of IGMM, whereas CM assists IGMM to escape local optima. The effect of each strategy, OBL, CM, VC, and MO, on IGMM, is confirmed through 30 low and high‐dimensional benchmarks, including 23 well‐known mathematical problems and CEC2017 as complex test functions and three engineering problems. Analysis results represent that integration IGMM with OBL, CM, VC, and MO has the best performance among other IGMM variants and eventually improved IGMM in exploration, exploitation, accelerating convergence, and local optima avoidance. The Economic and Emission Dispatch (EED) method is widely used to optimize generator output in a power system. The goal is to reduce fuel costs and emissions, including carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides, while maintaining power balance and adhering to limit constraints. EED aims to minimize emissions and operating costs while meeting power demands. To solve the multi‐objective EED problem, the supply‐demand optimization (SDO) algorithm is proposed, which employs a price penalty factor approach to convert it into a single‐objective function. The SDO algorithm uses a swarm‐based optimization strategy inspired by supply‐demand mechanisms in economics. The algorithm's performance is evaluated on seven benchmark functions before being used to simulate the EED problem on power systems with varying numbers of units and load demands. Established algorithms like the Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO), Moth‐Flame Optimization (MFO), Transient Search Optimization (TSO), and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) are compared to the SDO algorithm. The simulations are conducted on power systems with different numbers of units and load demands to optimize power generation output. The scientific advances in the machining process inculcate intelligence in computer numerical control (CNC), to enhance reliability and quality production. The study made in this article has been directed towards the metaheuristic‐based intelligent control of a nonlinear uncertain CNC machine for milling purposes. The presence of cutting force and frictional type constraints, along with parametric uncertainties, degrade the production quality in milling operations. Moreover, enhanced performance of milling operation can be achieved via intelligent control of position and velocity of machine table and tool. In this work, the black widow optimization algorithm (BWOA) driven proportional–integral–derivative (PID) and PI controllers are employed for the position and the velocity of machine table and tool, respectively. Servo and regulatory are the two important control problems that are considered, analysed, and addressed in this work. The most challenging task of simultaneous tuning of PI and PID controllers is also addressed in this brief. Finally, a vivid comparative analysis of five state‐of‐the‐art optimization techniques is also performed, and the obtained results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed control scheme. While dealing with the servo performance of x‐axis, the proposed controller gives a 100% improvement in overshoot and 61.54% improvement in settling time, and for regulatory performance, it gives a 98.45% improvement in undershoot. Moreover, for z‐axis control, the proposed controller gives a 100% improvement in overshoot and 61.54% improvement in settling time and for regulatory performance gives a 100% improvement in undershoot compared to published literature. Because of increased applications of Internet of Things (IoT) environment in real‐time environment, confidential data gathered by the IoT devices are being communicated to the cloud environment to train the machine learning (ML) models in understanding the patterns that exist in the data. At the same time, the sensitive nature of the IoT data attracts malicious users into hacking efforts. An intrusion detection system (IDS) can be applied to ensure security in the IoT environment. In order to improve security, the ML models can be executed at the data source instead of centralized cloud server. Federated learning (FL) is a recent progression of ML model which enables the ML models to move into the data source rather than moving the data to centralized cloud and thereby resolves cybersecurity problems in the IoT environment. In this view, this study introduces an FL based IDS using bird swarm algorithm based feature selection with classification (FLIDS‐BSAFSC) model in IoT environment. The presented FLIDS‐BSAFSC model undergoes training on multiple aspects of IoT dataset in a decentralized format to classify, detect, and defend against attacks. The proposed FLIDS‐BSAFSC model initially applies min–max normalization technique to pre‐process the IoT data. Besides, BSA based feature selection (BSA‐FS) technique is designed to elect feature subsets. Finally, social group optimization algorithm with kernel extreme learning machine model is employed for identifying various kinds of classes. In the view of FL where the IoT dataset is not distributed to the server carries out profile aggregation competently with the advantage of peer learning. The experimental validation of the FLIDS‐BSAFSC model is tested using benchmark datasets and the results are inspected under several aspects. Distribution network reconfiguration (DNR) is capable to improve indices of power systems by changing the distribution network (DN) topology under normal conditions. Here, DNR is implemented to improve the power quality (PQ) and power losses of DN. Furthermore, to achieve better optimum in DNR, discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO) algorithm is equipped with a smart radial method. The proposed algorithm is faster than other metaheuristic methods due to the prevention of regeneration non‐radial configurations. In addition, the algorithm increases the probability of finding the optimal configurations using the mutation function. The results clearly demonstrated the positive effect of DNR in improving harmonic losses, total harmonic distortion (THD), and power losses. Furthermore, the proposed method is compared with other metaheuristic algorithms in IEEE 33 bus DN, IEEE 69 bus DN, and real 95‐bus DN in presence of photovoltaic (PV). The results show that the developed algorithm leads to the better or same accuracy and speed in all comparisons. In addition, results indicated that considering the summation of fundamental and harmonic losses compared to only fundamental losses in DNR can lead to further energy saving in DNs.
