The objective of this study is to show the dynamics of the evolution on research of the generations by means of analysis of journal publications from the category of management and business from Clarivate Analytics Web of Science. Bibliometric analysis is used to unveil the authors, journals, institutions, and the most influential countries on the subject from 2001 to date. The most pertinent studies are presented that show the main characteristics of the five generations that can currently be found in the workplace, namely the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y and Generation Z. The results highlight that the studies focus on countries and regions with more developed economies. Studies are scarcer from countries and regions with emerging economies such as Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Likewise, there is evidence of the lack of qualitative studies on Generation Z, which will be of greater importance in the labour force or employment market and with higher purchasing power. The results add knowledge to academics to define their research strategies. For the practitioners it contributes information on the most pertinent academics on the study of generations, which facilitates potential candidates to contract or hire in case they need to study the characteristics of their workforce to define recruitment policies, career planning or motivation. Inventive property rights (IPR) issues became very important after the announcement of the metaverse. As in the metaverse, the traditional laws of IPR are applicable, and research on new laws that are dedicated to the metaverse has started. In this research paper, we analyze development in this area. We use the Scopus database to examine how metaverse entrepreneurship and IPR rights have evolved over time. We used different parameters such as collaboration index, citation analysis, and keyword co-occurrences to measure the growth in the respective area. This study's results support the idea that studies examining this issue have been mushrooming in recent years. This paper seeks to examine the relationship between competitivenessand environment-friendly behaviour of producers under an economic liberalisation regime. For that purpose, it employs a probit model and estimates the influence of the prime movers of industrial growth suchas technical change and economies of scale on environmental degradation. The empirical results of the study of pulp and paper industry, identified as one of the most polluting industries in India, indicate that these variables, as the key players of competitiveness improvement, have positive influence on environment-friendly behaviour. A recent paper (hereafter referred to as the "Paper"), Bermingham (2003), presented what appeared to be an analytical review of current situation of declining population growth rates in many parts of the world. The Paper suggested that the increasing growth rates before about 1970 constituted exponential growth, but that the currently declining growth rates were not exponential growth. Hence, the paper asserted that we should not use the terms "exponential growth" and "doubling times" in describing the current situation. This paper examines research collaborations in the field of business and management in Malaysia, a fast-developing economy in Southeast Asia. The country aims to become a developed nation by the year 2020, guided by its well-charted Wawasan 2020 or Vision 2020 program. Research and development are important agenda items within this program. Rarely, however, have studies investigated the research collaborations of researchers based in Malaysia from the network perspective. After a manual author disambiguation process, we examined the network of 285 business and management researchers at the individual, institutional, and international levels. Author collaborations per paper almost doubled between 2001 and 2010 compared to the period 1980–1990. The popularity of researchers and the strength and diversity of their ties with other researchers had significant effects on their research performance. Furthermore, geographical proximity still mattered in intra-national collaborations. Malaysian institutions more often collaborated intra-institutionally or with foreign partners than with other institutions within Malaysia. The country’s five research universities are among the top-most productive of all institutions in Malaysia. Malaysia’s top international partners are all developed countries, including the US, Australia, Japan, the UK, and Canada. Surprisingly, Malaysia has had relatively little collaboration with ASEAN nations, of which it is a prominent member and which has an important agenda of educational cooperation within its member states. Internationally co-authored articles have been cited almost three times more than locally co-authored articles. Based on these results, we suggest an effective co-authorship strategy. It paves the way for a new era of business operations, where science and technology work hand in hand with commerce to create a more prosperous and sustainable future. Climate change and associated processes can increase the occurrence of some natural hazards and threaten business operations. Therefore, it is widely recommended businesses respond to climate change and implement climate change adaptation. Worldwide, businesses make efforts towards climate change adaptation, but investigation on such efforts is still required. To partially fill this research gap, the paper explores businesses adaptation efforts in the Hunter Valley, Australia. The paper collects primary data from open-ended interviews to 10 representatives of local businesses and supporting organizations. The paper reveals that businesses interpret climate change in different ways. While some businesses are sceptical about climate change, others are aware of it and its impacts on everyday operations. Businesses therefore implement adaptation by integrating climate change into everyday operations and continuity planning. The paper also shows diverse interactions occurring between businesses and other local stakeholders such as governments and communities. Usually, higher government levels offer vague and limited support to businesses and inhibit their adaptive efforts. Meanwhile, interactions between businesses and City Councils can be both collaborative and fragmented. Some businesses also interact with local communities by disclosing information about their operations and response to climate change. Lean management principles include customer focus, continuous improvement and quality through waste reduction for organizations, including IT, bringing benefits such as bringing people together and changing paradigms. In this context, this paper presents a literature review on the current characteristics of lean manufacturing applied to information technology departments or companies. The methodology includes the selection of documents from the Scopus and Web of Science databases, a bibliometric study and a literature review with the selected documents. The bibliometric study identified the document type, language, year of publication, authors, author network, author's H-index, affiliation, keyword clusters, country or territory and field of knowledge. The VOSviewer software was used to create the maps of the author network and keyword clusters. The literature review presented the main topics of Lean IT, which is a relatively new field of knowledge yet to be fully explored and researched. The results showed that there is no typical pattern regarding the number of publications, and that the concept is still much more used in business than in academy. There is no core of well-defined authors. The Lean methodology is not just the so-called "factory floor". It has been adopted by several other areas; although 50% of the documents are concentrated in two areas: Computer Science and Engineering. This paper presents a review of 100 empirical papers studying corporate codes of ethics (CCEs) in business organizations from the time period mid-2005 until mid-2016, following approximately an 11-year time period after the previous review of the literature. The reviewed papers are broadly categorized as content-oriented, output-oriented, or transformation-oriented. The review sheds light on empirical focus, context, questions addressed, methods, findings and theory. The findings are discussed in terms of the three categories as well as the aggregate, stock of empirical CCE studies in comparison with previous reviews, answering the question "where are we now?" Content and output studies still stand for the majority of the studies, whereas the transformation studies are fewer. Within these areas, two new trends are found to have emerged: discursive analyses and a focus on labor conditions. The review finds that (a) the content of CCEs is still predominantly self-defensive, (b) that CCEs are insufficient in themselves in terms of protecting workers' rights, (c) that CCEs are likely to encounter tensions when implemented across national and organizational boundaries, and (d) that while perception of CCEs is generally positive, CCEs may lead to both positive and negative outcomes. Big Data and environmental sustainability may be used to provide major commercial advantages, such as cost savings, higher productivity, and enhanced reputation. Big Data in environmental monitoring may be used to better detect and solve sustainability challenges including resource depletion, waste management, and air and water pollution. Big Data analytics may facilitate better forecasting and decision-making, enabling businesses and industries to develop more sustainable practices and strategies. Big Data management needs a dedication to sustainability principles and practices, as well as a thorough awareness of the environmental impact of the company or sector. Purpose: Since the 1960s, federal and state governments and private-sector companies have used supplier diversity initiatives to ensure their supply chains include businesses owned by traditionally economically disadvantaged or underrepresented groups. Originally concentrated on racial and ethnic minority groups, programs have expanded to include businesses owned by women, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, and, in some cases, people with disabilities. This study investigates the extent to which disability is included in supplier diversity initiatives of Fortune 500 companies. Methods: This paper uses a novel data set created by the authors with information on supplier diversity initiatives and Disability, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) statements in Fortune 500 companies extracted from public sources. This information is combined with data from Compustat, a corporate financial database published by Standard and Poor's and additional variables from other sources. Results: 75% of the Fortune 500 companies have supplier diversity programs that express a commitment to diversity yet only 49% of those with such programs include disability-owned businesses (38% of all Fortune 500 companies). Among the largest 100 companies, 89% had supplier diversity programs that included disability, almost 6 times the rate Ball et al. reported in 2005. This study finds disability inclusion varies significantly by company size, industry, and whether the company is a government contractor. Conclusion: Despite the growth in disability inclusion, the absence of disability as a diversity category in regulations mandating supplier diversity initiatives for government contractors impacts disability inclusion. If we want to align our supplier diversity programs with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the first step is to address the issue in the Small Business Administration and federal contracting requirements. Backus et al. (Am Econ Rev 84:84-103, ) introduced a new theoretical interpretation of the short-run relationship between the terms of trade and the trade balance: movements in net exports and the tendency for the trade balance to be negatively correlated with current and future movements in the terms of trade, but positively correlated with past movements. There have been several papers aimed at testing the S-curve hypothesis in the related literature. The most common empirical approach used in those papers is the cross-correlation analysis. This paper highlights several deficiencies of the cross-correlation analysis when being used directly to test for the validity of the mentioned hypothesis. The purpose of this paper is to offer an alternative approach so as to combine the causality theory in econometrics with the testing procedure of the S-curve hypothesis via the cross-correlations. The paper's empirical results reveal that disaggregated bilateral trade data between the United States and China almost never support the S-curve hypothesis, contrarily to a previous paper employing the same data, but utilizing the conventional cross-correlation analysis. In 2003 and 2004, Aotearoa New Zealand enacted two key laws that regulate two very different ways in which the female body may be commodified. The Prostitution Reform Act 2003 (PRA) decriminalized prostitution, removing legal barriers to the buying and selling of commercial sexual services. The Human Assisted Reproductive Technology Act 2004 (HART Act), on the other hand, put a prohibition on commercial surrogacy agreements. This paper undertakes a comparative analysis of the ethical arguments underlying New Zealand's legislative solutions to prostitution and commercial surrogacy. While the regulation of prostitution is approached with a Marxist feminist lens with the aim to ensure the health and safety of sex workers, commercial surrogacy is prohibited outright for concerns of negative impacts on present and future persons. I ground the principles of each Act in their ethical foundations and compare these two against one another. I conclude that New Zealand's legislative approach to regulating the commodification of the female body is ethically inconsistent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper introduces the concept of business-related conspiracy theories (BrCTs). Drawing on Aristotelian virtue ethics and undertaking a narratological and ethical analysis of 28 BrCTs found online, I emphasize that BrCTs are narratives with structures rooted in other latent macro- and meta-narratives, including centuries-old myths. In particular, I reconstruct the fictional world (diegesis) of BrCTs – one in which CSR and social contracts have failed – before identifying eight different types of actors as which people can morally situate themselves in their relationships with business. Finally, I elaborate on the actors' performances and their use of external and legitimate forces to end the story. E-collaboration systems have become a new way of doing business that supports and enables communication, coordination and cooperation between people in shared projects and so on. Yet, eliciting user requirements for e-collaboration systems has proved to be a great challenge, due to the need to capture different knowledge for many different types of stakeholder. This paper proposes an approach for eliciting user requirements for e-collaboration systems. This approach takes a scenario description of e-collaboration systems as input and transforms it into a rich set of four-perspective requirement models, namely Coordination Model, Communication Model, Connection Model, and Collaboration Model. These models, respectively, represent the coordination, communication, connection, and collaboration characteristics of e-collaboration systems. Collectively, these models aim to provide a more complete and accurate requirements specification. An example from a collaborative office system is used to illustrate the applicability of the proposed approach. Despite the growing relevance of business corporations to the lives of older persons, gerontology has given very little, if any, attention to this field. Further, it seems that both the conceptual and the empirical study of what we firstly term "corporate gerontology"—the rich and diverse ways that corporations interact with, influence, and are influenced by older persons and the aging of society—are quite rare. This systematic literature review was designed and executed to explore and present the current state of academic research in the multidisciplinary realm of aging and the business corporation. Of the 46 papers surveyed, the majority belong to the category in which aging is an independent variable that influences the performance of business corporations. Only 27% belong to the second category, which explores how the conduct of corporations can influence various aspects of aging. In light of the retreat of the welfare state and the rising neoliberal system, the lack of adequate governmental responses to aging has paved the way for profit-guided business corporations to enter the field. Their conduct should not be overlooked, and in establishing a new theoretical framework of corporate gerontology, we hope it will draw future research and public attention and raise awareness of this phenomenon. It is a goal that manufacturing companies strive towards on a regular basis, and it involves enhancing the efficiency and productivity of maintenance operations. It is especially vital to avoid unforeseen breakdowns, which may result in costly charges and production losses if they do not occur in advance. While the execution of an acceptable management plan affects maintenance productivity, it also affects the adoption of proper procedures and tools to help in the assessment processes in this field. This difficulty, among other things, affects a company's capacity to achieve high performance with the equipment it employs, as well as the judgement process and the design of the firm's maintenance plan. In order to achieve this goal, the aim of this paper is to exemplify how intelligent systems can be used to enhance judgement techniques in the implementation of the lean maintenance perspective, allowing for an advancement in the functional capabilities of the industry's technological infrastructure. The reseachers employed artificial intelligence technologies to look for connections between specific operations carried out as part of the deployment of lean maintenance and the findings achieved. The raw set notion, which was used in this situation, was used to determine whether or not the lean maintenance method was being used in this study. The crisis management process carries with it some of the most complex data technology concerns ever encountered. It necessitates, among other items, active information gathering and information transfer efforts, that are used for a range of functions, such as decreasing uncertainty, attempting to measure and manage consequences, and attempting to manage resources in a way that goes beyond what is generally possible to deal with daily problems. The purpose of the study is to investigate into the research conducted on two young generations i.e. the millennial generation and the post millennial generation in the subject field of business and management. The study takes into account the research conducted from 2010 to 2020 from the Scopus database. Bibliometric analysis is adopted to determine the progress on the study of millennials and post millennials, while identifying the most productive authors, institutions and countries. The results depict a concentration of these studies in developed markets like the USA, Australia, Canada and United Kingdom. India and China are also not too far behind in their contributions. There was seen a dearth in research in emerging markets, which is essential and creates a need for further research to be conducted across different geographical locations. This paper is about the impact of clusters on entrepreneurship at the regional level. Defining entrepreneurship as the creation of new organisations and clusters as a geographically proximate group of interconnected firms and associated institutions in related industries, this paper aims to answer three research questions : first, do clusters matter to entrepreneurship at the regional level? Second, if clusters are associated with different levels of entrepreneurship, what explains those differences? Third, what do the answers to the previous questions imply for academics and policy makers? To answer these questions, this paper distinguishes between clusters and industrial agglomerations and advances a theoretical model and empirical research to explain the impact of clusters on entrepreneurship at the regional level. This paper uses the 97 German planning regions as units of analysis to test the hypotheses. Using hypotheses testing and OLS fixed-effects model, this paper finds that clusters do have an impact on entrepreneurship at the regional level, but industrial agglomerations do not. The article introduces a series of articles on the links between firm dynamics and spatial dynamics. It shows the different aspects of the relationship. The papers show the multi- and interdisciplinary nature of the topic of firm demography. The range of topics covered includes entrepreneurial studies, firm start-ups, firm exits and business relocations. Although all the papers deal with spatial variation in terms in the sense of differences between regions or countries, some deal explicitly with the spatial dimension of firm geography in the sense of distance sensitivity. Regional growth and agglomeration economies figure importantly in the papers as well, as the outcome of firm dynamics at the micro level. The relatively large number of papers dealing with new firm formation reflects the focus on the demographic component in the field of firm geography in general.

Today humanity is in the midst of the massive expansion of new and fundamental technology, represented by advanced artificial intelligence (AI) systems. The ongoing revolution of these technologies and their profound impact across various sectors, has triggered discussions about the characteristics and values that should guide their use and development in a responsible manner. In this paper, we conduct a systematic literature review with the aim of pointing out existing challenges and required principles in AI-based systems in different industries. We discuss our findings and provide general recommendations to be considered during AI deployment in production. DNA databases have significant commercial value. Direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies have built databanks using samples and information voluntarily provided by customers. As the price of genetic analysis falls, there is growing interest in building such databases by paying individuals for their DNA and personal data. This paper maps the ethical issues associated with private companies paying for DNA. We outline the benefits of building better genomic databases and describe possible concerns about crowding out, undue inducement, exploitation, and commodification. While certain objections deserve more empirical and philosophical investigation, we argue that none currently provide decisive reasons against using financial incentives to secure DNA samples. Studies show that the relationship between openness and output volatility is theoretically ambiguous, but most of these studies provide an empirical estimation for this relationship. This paper investigates the impact of trade openness on output volatility, and how this impact may be affected by the country's level of development. We use a panel dataset for 33 countries for the years of 1980 through 2009. A standard deviation of quarterly real GDP over a 5-year span is used as the dependent variable. Controlling for the country and period-specific effects, the main results are as follows: trade openness increases the output volatility.
