CLIMATE change is one of the most important global issues that impacts all our life sides. Growing crops and their productivity also are influenced by changing in the climate and climatic elements. Growing tea in non-traditional regions like Egypt could be considered a challenge due to the specific climatic and soil requirements for growing and production. However, with careful planning and experimentation, it might be possible to establish tea cultivation in such conditions. So, a lysimeter trial was conducted as an exploratory experiment aiming to assess tea cultivation performance in both sandy and clayey soil. Additionally, a separate field trial was carried out to evaluate tea growth in clayey soil along with applied organic fertilizer (chicken manure). The findings revealed that, under the lysimeter trial, tea plants exhibited robust growth on both sandy and clayey soil. Various parameters, including plant height, fresh and dry weights, leaf area, chlorophyll content, and leaf N, P, K levels, indicated superior performance on sandy soil compared to clayey soil. In the field trial, notable superiority was observed in plants grown on the organic medium containing chicken manure over those plants grown on clayey soil without such supplementation. These outcomes suggest that climate changes could potentially transform Egypt into a favorable region for tea cultivation. A FIELD experiment be located at Mallawi Agriculture Research Station, Minia Governorate, Egypt for two following seasons of 2021/ 2022 and 2022/ 2023, to examine effective of fertilization (100% NPK or control, 80 % NPK & EM (Effective microorganisms) applied at (12.35L ha-1), 80 % NPK & compost 12.35 ton ha-1 and 80 % NPK & Mixture of EM and compost) on wheat that grown in clay soil via using three cultivation methods, i.e. broad casting, ridges, raised beds. The experiment was arranged in a split plot design by three replicates. Water productivity as well as water use efficiency were extremely improved under raised bed method compared with the values with the other two methods through two seasons. Likewise, the highest values of plant height (cm). grain yield (ton ha-1), straw (ton ha-1), 1000 grain and protein% in the two consecutive seasons, were gained when planting wheat on raised bed at combined 80% NPK+ mix (EM and compost). THE PRESENT WORK aims to modify Fredlund and Xeng (FX) model to simulate the soil water characteristic curve (SWCC) to be applicable in soil physics and agriculture. Laboratory measurements of the SWCC of clay soil, representing the soil type close to river Nile in Egypt, were carried out using a pressure plate extractor. The measured points of the curve include saturation, field capacity (FC), and permanent wilting point (PWP). The estimation of the regression equations and unknown parameters was performed using non-linear estimation in the STATISTICA program through user-specified regression. The flexibility and capability of the proposed equation (PE) for a wide range of soil suction (ψ) values and soil types were also determined. The SWCC of the experimental soil and statistical tools indicated that PE showed a very good fit to the measured data. The three compared models accurately simulated the entire range of SWCCs for different soil textures. The statistical analysis and fitting curves revealed that the PE precisely simulated the SWCCs for the entire range of ψ values for different soil types and performed better than MVG and FX. Furthermore, only PE was able to simulate SWCCs using different forms of soil moisture, distinct from MVG and FX. The study hence recommends the use of the PE in simulating SWCCs. The current article aimed to examine the effect of organic and biofertilizers on the growth and yield of lavender essential oil (Lavandula Officinalis L.). This experiment was conducted over two consecutive seasons in 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 at the net house of the Central Laboratory of the Agricultural Climate Research Center in Dokki, Giza Governorate, Egypt. To assess the effects of biofertilizers (Azospirillum spp., Azotobacter spp.) and active dry yeast on the vegetative development, chemical composition, yield, and essential oil concentration of lavender. The obtained results showed that, treated plants with compost + Azospirillum spp. + Azotobacter spp. was the superior treatment, which improved plant growth characters i.e., plant height, number of branches, fresh and dry weights/herb. Chlorophyll a, b and carotenoids concentrations, the phenolic compounds, flavonoid content, total carbohydrates content in dry matter of herb, Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium, total free amino acids, the total antioxidants and the endogenous hormones in all cuts. Wheat is a strategic crop in Egypt. Its local consumption is increasing continuously accordingly; Egypt has become the largest wheat importer worldwide. The sustainable approach for increasing wheat productivity is probably through organic additives. For this reason, animal, chicken and plant residues were collected from an experimental farm for preparation of (1) plant residue compost (PRC) via composting a mixture of air-dried and chopped rice and soybean straw at a rate of 1:1 and (2) animal residue compost (ARC) via composting a mixture of chicken and cattle manure at a rate of 1:1. The main aim of this study is to compare between the implications of amending a clayey soil with animal versus plant residues for improving soil physical and chemical characteristics. Also, this study considers the changes in soil fertility owing to these additives, hence their outcomes on wheat growth and productivity. To achieve this goal, a field investigation was conducted following a split-split design in which the two types of composts were plotted in main plots while the rates of compost application (15 and 25 Mg per hectare) were plotted in subplots. Non-amended control plots were also included for data comparison. All plots were cultivated with wheat seeds in winter 2018 and received the recommended doses of NPK fertilizers to compare between the two types of composts as conditioners not as fertilizers. The experiment lasted for 160 days until maturity. All composts improved considerably soil physical (soil bulk density, total porosity, saturated hydraulic conductivity and penetration resistance) and chemical (soil organic matter and CEC) characterises, especially with increasing their rate of application. In this concern, the results of the two types of composts were comparable. Also, these additives boosted grain and straw yields, yield components (spike length, spike weight, number of spikelets/spike, 100-grain weight). Moreover, they enriched soils with N, P, K, Fe, Mn, Zn and Cu in available forms; hence raised their contents within wheat shoots and grains, with superiority for ARC versus PRC. There were significant positive correlations between shoot and grain yields in relation to the nutritional status of these plant parts. Two field experiments were conducted during two consecutive summer seasons of 2014 and 2015 in an administrative field at Diarb Negm District, Sharkia Governorate, under Agronomy Department supervision, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt. The aim of this study was to investigate the response of two yellow maize hybrids (Single Cross 176 and Three-way Cross 352) to three plant densities (20000, 24000 and 30000 plants/fad.), and nitrogen-farmyard combination fertilizer levels (60, 80 and100 kg N/fad., without addition of farmyard manure (FYM) and 60 kg N/fad.+20 m3 FYM/fad., 80 kg N/fad.+ 20 m3 FYM/fad., and 100 kg N/fad.+20 m3 FYM/ fad.) under clay soils conditions. The obtained results could be summarized as follows: The tried three maize plant densities had different effects on plant height (cm), ear diameter and length (cm), number of rows/ear, number of kernels/row, 100-kernel weight, kernel weight/ear, and biological yield (ton/fad.) during both seasons and their combined analysis, but the differences among the tried three maize plant densities on aforementioned traits did not reach the level of significance. Results of the first season and the combined analysis detected significant differences among the tried plant densities on ear yield/fad. Where, ear yield/fad., and grain yield/fad., in the first season and combined analysis, harvest index and grain: stover ratio in the two seasons and their combined analysis were significantly increased due to increasing maize density from 20000 or 24000 and up to 30000 plants/fad. Maize SC 173 cultivar appeared to produced taller plants, longer ears and larger number of kernels/row than TWC 352 cultivar. The later produced larger ear diameter, number of rows/ear, 100-kernel weight, kernel weight/ear, ear yield/fad., grain and biological yields/fad., than SC 173 one. No significant differences between two maize cultivars regarding harvest index and grain: stover ratio was observed. The first and the second increments in nitrogen levels up to 100 kg N/fad., with or without addition of farmyard manure was accompanied by a significant increase in ear diameter (cm), ear length (cm), number of rows/ear, number of kernels/row, 100-kernel weight (g), kernel weight/ear (g), ear yield/fad., grain and biological yields (ton/fad.) but harvest index and grain: stover ratio were reduced during both seasons and their combined analysis. These results finally recommend sowing maize cultivar TWC 352 with dense planting of 30000 plants/fad., and raising nitrogen level up to 80 kg N/fad., with addition of farmyard manure to maximize grain yield/fad., under the experimental site and other likely environmental condition. Flood surface irrigation is the main watering system in Egypt and worldwide. Proper design ot such system is the milestone tor up-grading and improving surface irrigation as tor other irrigation systems. In this regard, the said Soil Conservation Service (S.C.S) developed by the soil reclamation bureau, USA was the used tool in the evaluating and assessment of the implemented or the practiced parameters, which executed in cotton turrow irrigation system design in the Northern Nile Delta area. The field trial was conducted during the two growing summer cotton seasons 2017 and 2018 at the experimental tarm ot Sakha Agricultural Research station. North Nile Delta area. Combined effects ot different land leveling (i.e. traditional, precession (dead level =zero level), 0.05 and 0.10%) and irrigation intlow rates. (2.0, 2.7 and 3.3 Lps/m widths) were used. The stated treatments were implemented at fixed furrow length and width of 40.0 m and 0.75 m. respectively. The comparing elements between design created by scs and the actual practiced measures were: turrow inflow rate (lps/m), irrigation time (min.), advance time (min.), recession time (min.), opportunity time (min.), depth applied (mm), deep percolation (mm), deep percolation ratio and irrigation application efficiency (IAE). Morever, extensive economic evaluation was done regarding seed cotton yield, total return, benefit/cost ratio and the specific cost. Analysis ot obtained data revealed that applicaton efficiency is acceptable for inflow rate at 2.0 Lps/m width along with precession land leveling ot 0.05 or 0.10%, providing the importance ot using scs in design turrow irrigation system in the clayey soils at North Nile Delta. A pot experiment was conducted under greenhouse condition at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University, Egypt. The experiment aimed to study the effect of different potassium sources (potassium sulphate and potassium feldspar) at the recommended rate (40 mg K kg-1) either single or in combination with soil amendments i.e., farmyard manure (FYM) and sulfur (S) with or without silicate dissolving bacteria (SDB) on yield and nutrients uptake by wheat through the investigated clayey soil. Soil were taken from the surface layers (0-30 cm) from Hehia District, Sharkia Governorate, Egypt. Application of K-sulphate or K-feldspar as individual application or combined with different soil amendments under SDB gave increase in straw and grain yield, potassium uptake, biological yield, 1000 grain weight and protein content of wheat plants compared to untreated soil. The highest value for each of yield, K-uptake and available K was found in clayey soil treated with K-sulphate combined with FYM plus S in the presences of SDB, while the lowest ones were obtained with untreated soils in absence of soil amendments and SDB. Application of Ksulphate showed greater value in each of yield, protein content, K-uptake by wheat plants and soil available potassium than K-feldspar. An investigation concerning Pelargonium graveolens plant was carried out during two successive growing seasons of (2013 and 2014) at the Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Menoufia University, Shebin El - Kom, Egypt. This study was designed to determine the efficiency of antitranspirant agents I.e., magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) and sodium salicylate (S.S) at (10, 20 and 30 ppm) which used as chemical antitranspirant and active dry yeast (ADY) at (5, 10 and 15 g/l) which used as natural antitranspirant on growth, yield and active constituents of geranium plant (Pelargonium graveolens) grown on a clayey soil. Results reported that, all antitranspirant agents at different concentrations had a significant effects on growth and yield characters such as plant height (cm), number of main branches/plant, fresh weight of herb (g/plant) and fresh weight of leaves (g/plant and ton/fed) in the 1st and 2nd cuts during two seasons. Their maximum values in this concern were found in plants sprayed with active dry yeast (ADY) at 10 g/l in two cuts during both seasons. Also, the application of sodium salicylate at (20 and 30 ppm) produced the highest oil content (%) for the 1st and 2nd cuts, respectively during both seasons. Moreover, geraniol, linalool, gerannyl tiglate and cis-rose oxide were found to be the major compounds in the essential oil of Pelargonium graveolens which reached its maxima by spraying (ADY) at 10 mg/l,(ADY) at 15 mg/l, (S.S) at 20 ppm and (S.S) at 30 ppm, respectively during second cut in the first season. The current experiment was carried out in a clay soil at Sids Agricultural Research Station, Beni-Swief Govemorate Egypt during the two seasons of 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 to study the effect of planting methods on productivity and storability as well as crop-water relations for some onion cultivars. Three planting methods: planting on flat land (P1), on ridges (P2) and on raised bed (P3). Three cultivars namely, Giza 6 Mohassan (C1); Giza 20 (C2) and Giza red (C3). The split-plot experimental design in four replicates were performed, where planting methods were occupied the main plots while the split ones were allocated to the onion cultivars. The important findings could be summarized as follows:- * Amount of irrigation water applied and seasonal consumptive use under P3 treatment were reduced in comparison with those under P1 and P2 for all cultivars in the two seasons. * The highest averages of plant height, no. of leaves/plant, bulb length, no. of days to maturity and TSS % in the two successive seasons, were detected from planting onion on ridges of 60 cm width (P2). While, bulb diameter, plant weight and dry matter % were detected for planting onion on raised bed (P3) for all onion cultivars. * The marketable onion, total yields and bulb weight were increased with P3 comparable with P1 and P2. The lowest value of culls onion yield was obtained with P1 compared with P2 and P3 for all cultivars in the two seasons. * Water productivity and water use efficiency values were improved under P3 as compared with the values with P1 and P2 for all cultivars in the two seasons. * Planting onion on raised bed (P3) for all onion cultivars resulted in significant decrease in weight loss % at different storage periods, in both seasons.
