The article focuses on the career of woman broadcaster Nancy Dickerson. She wanted to get on the air and studied every move made by her male colleagues Edward R. Murrow, Eric Sevareid and Howard K. Smith. She covered five U.S. administrations, starting with former President Dwight D. Eisenhower. She was the first to speak with John F. Kennedy after he was inaugurated.
